Each day just bleed into the next as he walked, though he knew it had not been that long since he had fled Cascade Bay, he could feel a weight in his chest when he thought of it, of the lions, his friends, Leo, Futaba, he thought of the team, Lance, poor Pidge and Shiro, his heart hurt most when he thought of Shiro. So he had promised himself he would make himself forget, perhaps almost hoping that as he became more monster than man he would forget and yet, forgetting was the hardest part of all. His mind clung to every moment, reminding him of how happy he'd been, the times he'd laughed until he'd cried, the times they'd sat on their tiny sofa watching movies all squashed together, the intimate moments shared in the bedroom with Shiro to the moments shared in their day to day life.

His mind clung to it all until it was an agony he wanted to rip from his head and his heart, so he'd taken to in those moments reminding himself of why he had left. He made himself remember how he'd attacked Pidge, wounding her so badly she might lose a leg too his fight with Shiro where he'd gone for the kill to try and force his ex-lovers hand. He didn't really know where he was going, in that moment he was following the coast, sticking to the edge of the beach prepared to flee into the undergrowth if he saw anyone at all, for he did not want to hurt anyone else, he could not hurt anyone else.

He tugged at his bags strap in an idle fashion peering down at the dark, brown leather armour he had on over the black clothing he also wore, it was all clothing he'd bought after leaving the house in the hope that if his team mates did come after him he would not stick out in a crowd. He had the supposed Galra knife (along with several smaller throwing knives) strapped too his hip too, as well as a short broad sword he'd bought as well hung across his back. The small flaw he'd yet to notice was actually the device he currently held in his hand, the mobile phone which he had unconsciously been fiddling with for the past hour.

He had been debating messaging someone on the team to find out how Pidge was doing, all he wanted to know was how badly he'd damaged her leg and if she was to survive. But in reality, him having his phone out and on for the past hour had been projecting his exact location to those who had the desire to keep an eye out for clues such as this. He sighed, turning the phone in his hands again, but then he could of sworn he heard something and so he froze, blue, grey gaze seeking out the source of said noise

Futaba might not have been strong or have much in the way of physical endurance, but when it came down to mental fortitude, sheer, stupid, absolute stubbornness and a devious mind she was ten steps aside of many people. Plus, she was lucky. Maybe that was why she'd been at Leo's ship when the ding of the GPS she'd attached to Keith's phone had gone off- putting her not only close to the source, but with a very annoyed and just as determined ally quickly at hand. For a moment she remembered the things he'd said, that his friends had said, what had happened online. Maybe she should be careful, and take it to heart..

But nope. She knew a bluff when she read one, and if she was stupid enough to misunderstand one- well, that's why she was bringing Leo. True, she'd probably freaked him out a bit when she was jerking up from her seat and dropping her controller, then yell-babbling as she was heading for the door, but he seemed to have gotten it. Or she hoped so anyway. Otherwise she was gonna look really stupid, rushing through town with her phone out like a dowsing rod, trying to find the elusive Keith in his unnatural habitat. But she was gonna do it anyway! Nothing could stop her! ...Well, except a hurricane, or a kaiju attack, or Akechi somehow popping up to shoot her..

Fortunately she didn't run across any of those extremely unlikely circumstances and as she caught sight of what seemed to be her friend she started to run. Not well, and she was gasping for breath by the time she was close enough to be heard, but she chanced a yell anyway. "Hey.. Hey Keith! Don't run off, punk!"

Leo was not good with situations like this. In fact, they really pissed him off. He had read and re-read Keith’s message over and over again. He tried to understand Keith. He tried to understand what he was doing and why he was doing it. But everytime he thought about it, every time he looked at the message that was sent to him, he just felt like he was being abandoned again. That seemed to be his lot in life. People just seemed to love abandoning him. Why? He didn’t really know. His father had abandoned him. His mortal family had abandoned him. The social works had abandoned him but he had always thought that his friends would always be his safe place. It was clear that he couldn’t have been more wrong because, in his mind, Keith was doing just that.

Perhaps that was why he reacted so quickly when Futaba leaped out of her gaming chair and started running towards the door shouting that she had found Keith. He quickly followed her almost regretting he wasn’t the one with the GPS. A part of him wanted to rush take it the cellphone and rush after him regardless of the danger while another part of him told him that was a stupid thought. In truth, Leo just wanted to know why this was happening and he knew if Keith knew what was going on right now he would do something and they would never catch him. The situation was frustrating but he stuck by Futaba and searched the area for any sign of the idiot. It was really all they could do.

When Futaba caught sight of him and began to race after him, Leo hesitated for just a moment as his eyes landed on his friend all dressed in black and decked out in weapons. He might have said something witty in that moment if he were more himself but the very sight of him woke something in him that made him want to shout the most insufferable insults he could think off. He was being unreasonable and a part of him knew it but even knowing it didn’t make it go away.

All at once Leo felt his body racing forward until he caught up with Futaba and even bypast her. His voice roaring out, ”Dude, what do you think you’re doing!? Don't you dare run from me you idiot! I can keep this up all day if I have too!”

He was frozen in place, his blue, grey gaze staring in the direction of the sound when they came into sight and when they did the fear grew worse, he could feel it pulsating through him. He could feel a trembling climbing up through him as if he were could but in reality it was the fear rolling over him. Futaba had seen him now and was shouting, telling him not to run. His hands hovered over his weapons in response, then Leo was shouting and Keith was flinching back.

The fear that had him frozen in place crumbled and he was retreating from them down the beach, his blue, grey gaze wide as he shouted"No! Stay away!" His hand was on the hilt of the Marmora blade, fingers curling and he retreated further but they were running right at him. Instinctively he was dropping into a crouch, the dagger was drawn now and he was snarling"I said, stay away! Did you two idiots not read the messages you received? It's not safe!"

He was likely acting very different compared to how either of them had ever seen him, like a wild animal ready to lash out in all directions a wildness in his gaze and pure terror on his face. His gaze flickered between the two friends, he didn't want to hurt them but the madness in his mind was already having him consider his options and he knew it was down to the overwhelming sense of fear within his veins.

He couldn't control it though The Galra genes always seemed to win out when he felt a strong emotion and so trembling slightly he shouted"I'm dangerous! Stay away!" His gaze was flickering between the two he called friends, making sure to keep a decent distance from both of them lest the aggression broke out, his dagger raised defensively.

When it came to this running-racing-jumping-athletic stuff Futaba was doing better than she ever would have back in Yongen-Jaya- but keeping up with warriors and demigods and stuff was just never going to happen. Once Leo passed her she made it maybe another step or two before she was gasping and panting, half bent over as she drew in breath after breath. At least they didn't need her to shout anymore. She wouldn't have been able to if they were suddenly in the path of an asteroid falling out of the sky, so that was probably a good thing. Even her ribs hurt!

So she stood there, and waited and watched, brow furrowed and phone still in her hand, glancing between Keith and Leo. Both of them were so tense, and seemed so angry, that she wasn't quite sure she was seeing two friends talking at all. And yeah, they both had decent reasons to be angry- Keith was being followed when he didn't want to be, and Leo didn't like it when people vanished on him, and even Futaba had been angry-slash-worried when she couldn't get him to answer at all.

But she wasn't the one who looked like she was going to start throwing punches or fireballs or whatever else. And that scared her a little.

"S.. Stop.. that," she managed through her breaths, starting to feel a little less achy and lightheaded after her mad dash. "Somebody's gonna.. call the guards... if you.... keep yelling. Chill!"

”Are you serious, man!?” bellowed Leo in an angry tone that would have made even his closest friends a little leery of him. Broken was a part of how he felt. Could Keith really be doing this? Did he not understand what he was doing to Leo? Even though they had grown close, Keith didn’t seem to understand him at all. Fine. Great. He could be a jerk if he wanted to but that didn’t mean Leo had to put up with it. It hurt Leo to see him like this but that the anger far outweighed whatever whatever feelings he had otherwise. Just because he had problems didn’t mean he had the right to abandon his friends like this…

”Keith! Leaving now won’t solve anything and you know it.”

Marmora blade or no, Leo had to make him see reason. Nothing was going to change this way and not even Futaba’s warning could sidetrack him from his goal to make him realize that. One way or another he had to make him see that what he was doing was wrong. Pressure from Futaba to calm down or no pressure. Quiet wasn’t what he was feeling right now and, if the whole street had to now it, so be it.

”Run now and you’re a coward. Stay and you can actually try to fix what you did,” Leo continued as he slowed to a walk, smart enough not to approach fully while Keith had the blade in hand.

”Trust me, Keith,” he continued. ”Using this method is not right...”

Very slowly, still keeping one eye on Keith as much as he could, his head turned to look at the young woman who had fallen behind. Would she understand his desperation to stop this? X-man she was not but she was all he had at the moment and her talents were far more superior than people gave her credit for. Yet again, he turned back to Keith and continued, ”Zigzag around the streets all you want, Keith. As a matter of fact, start running now if you wish. But remember one thing. Camouflaged or not, Futaba will find you. Don’t underestimate her or me. Everyone has their own strengths. Futaba is more dangerous than both of us put together. Get on her bad side at your own risk, buddy.”
