It was a few days since she'd got here. It was almost funny, how her life had changed twice in one day. The Doctor, whoever he was, had offered her the chance of lifetime; to get away from London, go and live her life. But then the snow happened, and she'd fell, fell to 'ere. Pandora. She'd always wanted to travel, knew there was more out there, and now she could. She thought about 'im, though, what he was doin' now, if he'd gone back to his cloud. She hoped he'd found somethin', had defeated the snow.

Her ring glinted in light as she wrapped her hands further around the steaming mug of mulled wine. She'd been wanderin' since twilight, takin' in the sights, havin' only just got to Centria after landin' in Pandopolis. She'd heard of a job goin' here, one at an orphanage, but arrived too late to see anyone. Tomorrow, she'd get that job, but for now, she'd wanted somewhere warm to go and this was the nearest place. She weren't afraid of pubs or what she might find in them, havin' been a barmaid and knowin' London well; anythin' could happen.

She sipped her drink slowly, revellin' in the warmth it brought her. She was sat alone, in a corner near the fire, deep in thought about what else she might find 'ere.

In the corner opposite to the young lady sat C.A. Rotwang who, despite having a rather disheveled appearance, looked quite a bit healthier than he had about three weeks before. The previous month had not been easiest for him health-wise, but fortunately he'd come into contact with a co-worker who was kind and understanding enough to help cure him of his ailments. Now that he was feeling a lot better, he could return to business at TroYA X and then head to the pub to grab a drink afterwards.

During this particular excursion, he'd taken a notepad along with him and had it laid out on the surface of the table, where he'd occasionally jot down a couple of notes whenever he thought of an idea or a piece of equipment he could use for his latest and nearly-finished creation. Beside the pad of paper stood a tall mug of beer, which he took a sip from every once in awhile. There was also a small lantern on the table, one which he'd brought himself so he'd be able to sit in the darkest area of the bar and read his own writing without much trouble or distraction caused by other patrons in the building.

However, a lantern would only last so long before burning out, and Rotwang had been using his for several hours too many. As minutes passed by the light had gotten dimmer, and by the time he'd nearly finished scribbling down an important instruction it had decided to die out completely. Grumbling German swears to himself, the inventor snatched his notebook and beer off the surface and moved over to a spot near the fireplace. He paid little attention to the fact that he'd taken a seat right next to the brunette woman.

That "somethin’ else" came up right to Clara as she took another drink of her wine. She smiled and closed her eyes at the comfort of the drink; it was rich and heavy, like a warm blanket coverin’ her. Her peace was interrupted as someone sat down, right next to her. The brunette opened her eyes to find an older lookin’ man, with very wild white hair. He had a mug of beer and a book full of scribbles.

Clara had no idea what the writing was supposed to be, but she eyed the paper curiously, tryin’ her best to be subtle. She weren’t even annoyed that the man had chosen to sit here; if anythin’, it looked like he was too busy to even notice where he was.

“Writin’ somethin’ important, are you?” She asked cheerfully, getting straight to the point as always. Her fingers tapped her mug absentmindedly.

The temperature didn't really bother Galatea, although not Kryptonian technically she was the next best thing. And since she wasn't doing business, Galatea was still in her usual attire which some might call her super outfit. She'd been busy doing some flying around the city and while she didn't run out of breath, Galatea wanted to take a rest regardless.

Though a drink was more what she was after, she flew down to a random pub and walked into the door. Sitting at the bar, she ordered a drink and skulled it quickly. "Best make that stronger or just bring more" commented Galatea who wasn't even certain she could get drunk. Either way she was going to try and see if it happened and hopefully she wouldn't end up bringing the place down if she did.

Rotwang had set the notepad on the coffee table in front of him and was in the midst of taking a large gulp of his beer when the woman he’d absentmindedly sat next to decided to speak up. The question came as so unexpected that it startled him a bit and nearly caused him to choke on the drink. Quickly, the inventor placed the mug beside the written instructions and let out a light cough before answering her.

“Y-yes! It is all very important, you see.” He turned around to face the young brunette, hoping that she’d return his gaze instead of peeking at the notes which he’d scribbled down on the pad of paper. “I am creating something that is rather complex.” A frown fell over his face as he realized it was probably best just to tell her in order to put an end to her curiosity. “It is a machine of sorts." There was a pause before he continued. "One might even say it is a man made of machinery.”

Galatea had already had a few drinks, though she wasn't even remotely feeling them yet. But she overheard the man speaking to the lady by the fireplace, she sighed but also smirked. Swinging around on her stool she looked over in their direction and at the mad scientist looking fellow.

"So you're making a robot, not very original. I've known plenty back home and here but have fun with your toy" she mocked the man and took a big swig of her drink before placing it back on the bar.

She couldn’t help but smirk at the man’s flustered attitude; he really had been that oblivious. Whatever he was writin’, it must be important with how protective he suddenly was over his notes. “A man, made of machinery?” Clara repeated, an eyebrow raised; she was still new to Pandora, so that sort of thing still surprised her. “Is that possible?” Probably, if things such as killer snow could exist.

They were interrupted by a strangely dressed woman. Clara straightened up, not likin’ her attitude. “Hey, at least he’s tryin’ to do somethin’.” She eyed the woman, “If that’s all you’ve got to say, you should get back to your drink.” She’d worked as barmaid and knew how people could get, so she weren’t afraid in the least of challengin’ the blonde.

“But why should it matter if it is original?” Rotwang sounded rather offended by the blonde’s remark. “It is simply meant to serve the purpose it will be built for! And that will not be for something as petty as entertainment!” She might have very pretty and almost looked a bit like his first robotic creation, but she was terribly snippy and spoke things that Futura would have never said to him. Futura had been loyal, even if that was only because he had complete control over her will.

He took another swig of his beer and then turned to the brunette, who was much more pleasant and also very curious as to what he was doing. "Why, of course it is possible!” he exclaimed, setting the mug back onto the table. “And I'll have you know that this isn’t the very first time I’ve accomplished such a feat!” Rotwang leaned back on the couch and began to reminisce out loud. “I had once built the perfect woman out of metals. Her name was Futura, and she looked very much like an actual human being. Why, no one could tell the difference!”

He let out a soft sigh before continuing. “The current project is not quite as complex. Once it has been finished, the Machine-Man will carry out various tasks on behalf of myself. They will be simple tasks, of course. Mundane chores which I haven't any desire to occupy myself with!”

"Suit yourself old man, just giving some criticism. Just make sure it won't rise up and revolt, it happens more then you think" commented Galatea with a slight hint of humour at the end. The girl, however, was annoying though the man wasn't any better he at least had a reason to get uppity.

She looked at the girl with a glare, luckily Galatea didn't activate her laser vision as that would've been bad. "And you assume I'm just fluffing about is that right, cause it's far from the truth" replied Galatea with more than a tad of annoyance and finishing off her drink. Turning back around to order another and hearing the man's reason for making the robot.

"Pathetic, you waste money and resources on a robot. When you could easily just hire someone for that work, hell it'd probably be cheaper and helpful to those without work" added Galatea.

Clara grinned as the man gave as good as he got to the blonde woman. The brunette didn’t see why she had to stick her nose in; maybe she knew more about this (her outfit looked very modern), but it wasn’t an excuse for her to deride him.

She was impressed that he’d managed to build something like it before, a woman apparently. But he explained this one would be more like a servant. “Mechanical servants…most people were I come from would be out of a job,” she chuckled.

Her good nature faded as the woman addressed her, talkin’ at her like she knew nothin’ at all. As she turned away, Clara retorted, “Look, if he wants to build this, then he’s free to do so. Don’t see how it’d affect you.”

Duncan entered the little local pub, or at least what he thought was the local pub based on the fact that it was one of the few places with lights on and people inside. From the street he had heard the murmurs of conversation and so he figured 'What the hell, might as well check it out.' so he went inside, went up to the counter and looked over the room. There were at least three people he saw right off, a Blonde in a strange outfit, a lady in a more formal looking dress from the past and a man with a disheveled appearance about him.

"Kettle warmed ale, if ye have it."

He caught the scent of what was sure to be mulled wine, so an ale warmed over the fire in the same way shouldn't have been asking too much. He took his mug and set some money down on the counter and went to take a seat at the bar, a few chairs down from the blonde lass, but close enough that he could hear the strange conversation without trying to hard. 'Robot servants, someone has been watching too many movies' he thought to himself as he took a sip of ale and settled onto his stool. A lot had happened recently and he was glad for a moment like this, where it all started to seem... normal again.

Galatea smirked and shook her head "The fact that I'm a business owner, means I find it diminishing to the folks I'd hire" she replied knowing full well she really didn't care about people in general but knew that keeping them happy was good for business.

She spotted the ravishing man come in and heard his rather classy accent, so she turned away from them and towards him. "Hey there handsome, care to keep a lady company" expressed Galatea with a smile as she held up her drink in a mock cheers motion.

“It will be a personal servant! One that will not tire or question its orders! Nor will it choose to insult or berate me like any overly conceited human being like yourself might!” Rotwang huffed, frowning at the blonde’s comments. He said nothing in response to her comment about the robot potentially rebelling. He knew full well that robots could revolt, especially as he’d played a big part in allowing one nearly destroy the city of Metropolis, but he knew that with the right components installed in the new one he would have no worries.

To the brunette he was far less harsh as she had chosen to defend him. “Exactly where do you come from?" he asked her before taking another small sip from his mug of beer. He paid no attention to the man who’d entered the bar, though he very nearly rolled his eyes when the blonde began to flirt with him. "Undoubtedly it is somewhere more refined than the homeplace of that one,” he added, gesturing dismissively to the blonde.

Duncan wasn't sure what the conversation had been before he arrived, and wasn't sure he really wanted to know - not what with the older looking gent bolstering loudly about robots. When the cute blonde at the bar flirted he gave her his best smile as he moved to a seat closer to hers.

"Aye, don't mind if I do."

He returned the gesture of cheers to her as he listened to the gent at the table talk to the lady next to him.

"I'm certain there's na reason to be insulting one another like that. I mean, this seems like a nice friendly pub with a relaxing atmosphere. Not really the place for harsh words or bad tempers now is it?"

He really couldn't help it, he always had this need to avoid conflict whenever possible. Not that he wasn't perfectly capable of handling conflicts when they arose, but after four hundred years he had learned some values such as talking before brawling. However, the personal servant robot subject was quite fascinating.

"And what's all this nonsense about robots and what have ye? Surely you don't believe such things are possible, do ye?"
