Emily was walking in the market of Cascade Bay. The weather had become thankfully much cooler than when she first came here. The air was filled with the smell of fishes and fruits and seawater and her ears were assaulted with the sounds of hundreds of people talking, bargaining and hawking. It was cheerful and overwhelming at the same time.

She walked toward a stall to inspect a really fresh and big fish but decided not to buy it at the end because she could not eat all that fish at home. Moments like this, she missed cooking for the entire pack and never had her refrigerator full for long.

From the corner of her eyes, she saw two people approaching, one of whom was Leah. Leah looked surprisingly comfortable and intimate with the person she was talking to. They looked close and seemed to be enjoying themselves immensely. Even though that Leah's and her relationship was not the best, Emily still said,

"Good morning, Leah. How do you do?"

One thing Leah wanted more than anything back in her world was to just stop being a werewolf. All of her problems seemed to stem from the wolf blood inside her, so of course she wanted nothing more to do with it. Once she found her place in Pandora, though, she slowly came to realize that wasn't the case.

It wasn't really the supernatural stuff she had a problem with, she just needed to get as far away from those assholes she called a pack as possible. Without being judged or shamed or anything like that, she was able to find some of the happiness she had before changing. Not all of it, though. No matter what, part of her would always miss what she had with Sam.

So, being reminded of what she lost wasn't very fun for her. Emily just being dropped on her head was awful. It was like being slapped in the face with every horrible event that had led up to her being the 'bitter harpy' she was slowly changing from. The very notion of Emily meeting her pack made her shudder. The pack was hers and she was sick of having Emily steal what was hers.

Was it petty and childish? Absolutely, but after being surrounded on all sides by worse, she stopped giving a damn.

It hadn't been to hard to keep Emily away from the pack. Just a few mentions of the others being busy and any potential encounters were interrupted pretty easily. Unfortunately, life was rarely easy for Leah, and her efforts ended up being in vain.

Leah had expected it to just be a calm meet-up with a friend; just hanging out with Scott without any family drama to be seen. They were just catching up on what had been going on since they last talked; the smell of fish was almost overwhelming, covering anything she might have otherwise recognized.

That was why she was rather blindsided when Emily showed up, greeting her as if it was just any old day. Immediately, Leah's grin turned into a cold frown. "Fine, thanks," was the most she said in reply.

Scott had quickly contacted Leah that he was coming to the Bay before arriving so she could expect him. After a busy couple of weeks, he had a few days time to just go and spend it with his pack. Lexa was busy with her governor duties and he wasn't sure where the others were but he didn't mind. Hanging out with Leah was more than enough for him. He liked her, like her presence, liked her honesty. He was also going to suggest a rematch of a run since last time he lost badly. He'd figured a run might do them both some good.

Talking about their lives while they'd been in separate towns took up a lot of their time. Scott was glad to hear what Leah was getting up to, it seemed the bay was agreeing well with her. Yet even as they walked he could smell it - something was troubling her and he had no idea how to bring it up. He wanted to know, not to judge her or tell her to get over it but to help her through it. Be a friend and alpha to show her she had a friend and ally.

When her smile soured and her emotions went with it, Scott immediately looked at her with worry in his dark eyes. "Are you okay?" Scott asked, before his gaze settled upon the woman who had called out to Leah. The woman who had turned Leah's mood so rapidly. Which meant someone from her world. Not a vampire, she didn't smell like one and she didn't sparkle in the sun. Human?

There was only one person he could think of.

"I'm Scott." He extended out his hand for hers to shake, being polite because he wanted to be, all while trying to figure out how to solve this mess. Because it was clear Leah would rather be anywhere else. Perhaps knowing where Leah had come from was the reason why Scott stayed a little closer to her. To show that he wasn't like her old pack.

But he also wasn't going to be rude. It wasn't in his nature right off the bat.

Emily said hello to Leah because she thought she would be rude if she just went across Leah without saying anything. Leah, however, was cold and mad. It was her fault for making them this way. But why was Leah even colder and more abrupt than normal?

Awkwardly, Emily turned her head away from Leah and looked at the man next to her. Not entirely a man but more like a boy. The boy looked fit and good-looking and was friendly enough to her. "Hi. I am Emily." She smiled, wondering whether she should just nod and go away. Leah obviously did not want her to be here and Emily had a feeling that Leah did not want her to meet her friend. It hurt but Emily knew when to stay away from Leah.

She wondered whether this person here was a member of the pack that Leah used to talk about.

Of course Scott greeted Emily politely, he had no reason to suspect she was any trouble. Honestly, Leah could admit to herself that it was probably utterly paranoid to even think that Emily would ruin her friendship with her new pack, but once bitten, twice shy.

That didn't mean Leah could just force Emily to leave, though. Even if it was only verbal, it'd only cause more drama. Being short with Emily had never ended well in Sam's pack, for obvious reasons, and she'd never really learned a good way to get Emily to understand how she really felt while everyone was jumping in between them.

So, she stayed quiet as they talked, not interrupting but not joining in if she could help it.

The other female introduced herself and Scott understood immediately. All the pieces fell into place, fitting neatly like a puzzle he'd once struggled to figure out. He wouldn't tell Leah off for her attitude. It wasn't up to him to dictate how his pack felt. All he could do was try to lead by example.

Not everyone was likely to get along. He'd learned early on and quickly.

"How are you finding Cascade Bay?" He asked; Leah wasn't talking so he'd start a conversation.

Leah was not talking with her and looked on with cold eyes. Emily was used to it so she decided to ignore it. Scott was not affected by Leah's hostile attitude to her but was polite and friendly. This made the situation much less awkward for Emily to handle. It, however, also forced Emily to stay with them instead of leaving them immediately.

"I would be lying if I said I was not disoriented. I came to this place not very long ago, on July...10th. So I have stayed here for about a month. This is such a long time when I say it aloud; it feels like just yesterday, I was taken to this place. Time does fly."
She smiled as she said this but it was a rather sad smile. "And Cascade Bay is good enough. I don't know what I would be doing now if I had been dropped into any other place in Pandora." She still did not like Cascade Bay and was still homesick and missed her boyfriend, her family and her pack desperately. However, life moved on and Emily slowly settled down in Cascade Bay.
