Fishy-man had not expressly said that the mightiest of all hunters had to stay near his stupid nest. Or maybe he had. It hardly mattered, because the predator was no hatchling. He was free to traverse where he wished, regardless of what form he was forced to take. He had, for the sake of Fishy-man's place in his pack, solemnly agreed to wear the pants, even though they were uncomfortable and made no sense at all.

He'd refused anything to do with the under-the-pants pants, because that was fucking unnecessary and even more restricting. And hot. Even the pants were sticky and warm as he wandered through the human nest-of-nests, craning his marvelous head to look around as he walked.

Everything felt too big here. Or maybe he felt too small. Every time a metal monster rushed by, the great hunter bared his teeth and flinched to the side. If he were in his proper form, he would crush them in his magnificent, wondrous claws. But he was not, so he tried to avoid them.

Humans walked by now and then, and he stared at them blankly. He had asked one for their name, but apparently that was not the human way, because she had scuttled off like a spooked hatchling, leaving him befuddled and uncomfortable. Fishy-man had said that all humans did the name thing. Was it not right to know of them all, now that he was forced to be one of their pack?

Heedless, the most beautiful of all hunters veered sharply. Human paths meant nothing to him, and he was too lost in thought to remember the metal monsters. He was simply brooding as he sauntered, and it was only at the very last moment that the great predator sensed the approaching threat.

Looking at the metal monster, he bared his teeth and planted his feet on the rough ground, bracing himself as he thrust his shoulder forward, into the beast, which crumpled around him in a chaotic scream of metal.

"Goddamnit, Kevin." Toby growled into her scroll like she was about to murder someone. Mostly her agent. Kevin. Who she was currently speaking to despite how she was also currently driving. Hands free, because she wasn't a total idiot, but that didn't take away from how she was yelling into Kevin's ear. Or at least, Toby hoped she was yelling into Kevin's ear. He might have moved it away from his ear. She hoped he had had that stupid ear piece he always wore in, instead. But maybe she was a little pissed off that Kevin couldn't go after certain tabloids like she wanted. Or so he swore, up and down.

She was only a little distracted. It wasn't like Toby was a terrible driver. In fact, Toby was a pretty amazing driver. She knew how to keep an eye on where she was going even if she was also yelling. This was hardly her first time driving under pressure. She didn't have Blind Michael breathing down her neck while she was speeding under an illusion spell in downtown San Fran.

So Toby was completely surprised when some fucking idiot suddenly waltzed straight out in front of her bug. She had a decent quick reaction, slamming on her breaks in half a second. It might not have changed things but she still wasn't at fault. He wasn't near any cross walk and he had been walking out like he was on some sort of mission.

Toby then heard a crunch she hadn't been expecting. Really, she had been ready for a thud. Of his body hitting her car and then crumpling. Instead there was a crunch of her bug deciding it would rather be an accordion instead of a car. Everything came to a stop and Toby stared at her windshield like she had just been hit by a train instead of a person.

"Toby?" It was Kevin's turn to yell at her. "I'll call you back, Kevin." Toby hung up and then threw her scroll into her passenger seat. Then she was unbuckling herself and getting up, sort of glad her air bag hadn't gone off and yet worried about what that could mean in her car. Her door was open in a rush and she stepped out to start yelling at him. "ARE YOU FUCKING CRAZY?!" Toby was not asking if he was alright. It was obvious that he was alright. Yelling seemed to be how to go about expressing her displeasure.

Extracting himself from the beast was not as easy as the great hunter might have expected. The impact hadn't hurt him at all, but the metal had closed in on either side, making the process of removing himself that much more arduous. He had to press some parts of the monster outward, and then awkwardly clamor over it, which he did not like at all. He hated being off the ground. It was not natural.

Eyeing the damage he had done to his challenger, the predator gave a self satisfied huff. He had not meant to kill the beast - only to scold it, perhaps, for intruding upon his space - but clearly, it was weaker than it seemed. It had tested him and it had paid a great price. Yet, to its honor, it still hissed at him softly, and even spat some steam.

"You should have used your fire." He advised, patting it once, so it could die knowing there were no angry feelings. "You fought ve-- YOU ARE FUCKING CRAZY!" He wheeled on his feet and pointed at the human who had been inside the dead beast. Eyes wide and glowering, the mighty and splendid hunter drew himself up to his full height, which was not even larger than her. It was stupid. It was all so fucking stupid.

"If you did not want your fucking beast to fucking die, maybe you should have fucking taught it not to fucking attack others who are much stronger, and glorious, and beautiful than it. This is your fucking fault! Do you not know how to control your fucking beast? Look what you fucking did to it! It dies for you! A waste! A fucking waste!"

Gasping for breath, because human speech was incredibly vexing and tiresome, the mighty predator continued to glare at her evenly. "You have a name. Tell me, so I will remember the stupid fucking members of the pack. If I had the choice, you would not fucking eat tonight for your fucking stupidity."

You should have used your fire. Toby had heard that. She had caught it but it wasn't like Mr. Fucking Idiot wasn't too far away from where she was currently standing. Including catching how he patted her wreck of a car. Like it was a living creature. Which would make some sort of sense if it had been alive and not a car, but apparently some people didn't understand basics.

He yelled straight back at her and Toby growled in response. She wasn't taking anyone's shit, no matter how super powered they seemed to be. That was fine. She could have done similar. She was strong as hell, even if not as strong as some other things, and in this moment she was correct. He had been jay walking so fuck him. He went on about teaching her beast not to attack people and she just stared at him hard. Trying to figure out if he was already addled or if hitting him had done something bad to scramble his eggs, so to speak.

Stronger, glorious, and beautiful? She gave him a look over. He wasn't bad, she'd give him that, but Toby didn't have a high bar to start with. He was not glorious or beautiful in her books. Stronger than her car? Sure. "Are you fucking high right now??" It had to be drugs. Drugs would have made sense considering he was demanding her name and talking about pack members.

"Look, fucker, you're giving me your name because you were just fucking jay walking and totaled my god-damn car." She had work cars but this was her car. "You can shove your shit up your ass and you'll be paying to fix it. It's a machine, not a beast! It's not ALIVE!" She was still yelling but considering it was all justified, Toby didn't give two shits who saw or heard. Instead she moved around to stand right in front of him.

"What did you take?!" She was looking at his face and his eyes, trying to see how dilated they were. Trying to get some facts so she could call some cops and make a report. Dumbass was going to get someone killed with that kind of attitude.

Initially he looked testy. Then, after a pause, the mighty hunter simply appeared confused as he looked down at his feet. Was he high? He knew more than ever now that height was relative. He had been high indeed before, but not anymore. Then again, there was a hill nearby, which he had scaled mightily. Maybe they were high. "As fucking high as you, obviously." He finally rumbled mutinously. That seemed like the smartest reply.

Her wailing was extremely annoying, but the most splendid of all predators kept his jaws shut and his eyes narrowed. He did not know this human pack. Not yet. He was an outsider who lacked the size and superiority to take command, and this yowling bitch was clearly an alpha among them. She would be admirable in other circumstances. "I do not--" The proud beast grimaced as she yelled over him, babbling with words he didn't even understand. "Fuck off. Do you always talk so fucking much? Fuck you!" He yelled before he could think better of it.

Paying was something the glorious hunter understood. Fishy-man had explained, and had even shared his wealth. Reaching into his pants-hole, the predator pulled out the sparkly, wonderful coins that the humans treasured muchly.

Reining his expression into something less hostile, understanding in his own way that this bitch alpha was right, the great and noble hunter extended his wealth. "I took this from Fishy-man, your pack mate, who is good and powerful. I hope it will heal your... car to its glory. It fought well, for a flimsy thing."

And thus did the fantastic predator bequeath to the bitch a grand total of forty-eight cents, along with four copper buttons.

She wasn't fucking high! No way in hell would Toby get high. She hadn't do that shit in decades and it was a place she wouldn't go back to. Hitting rock bottom hadn't broken her and nothing would be worse than losing Gilly. Of course, Toby had no clue he was literally speaking. They were of a similar height. Toby had an inch or so on her boots and she was already tall to begin with.

Did she always talk this much? "Fuck you, asshole." Apparently buttons had been hit. Toby was far more assertive than she had been before. Despite her recent, near death experience, she still felt leagues stronger than she had been before. Her aura, her confidence in that department had only gotten worse. Not that she thought she was strong per say, just that she would survive and she could do a whole hell of a lot of damage before she hit dirt. Still morbid, if a different variation of her desperation from before.

Toby was just a harder target to kill than before. She could right more wrongs before hitting that level. Save more people. Not take shit from assholes. But then he was reaching into his pocket and Toby made herself take a calming breath. If he really was going to fix all this goddamn damage, then she could chill for five seconds to get this all worked out. She was also a whole hell of a lot more mature on that level as well. More in control of herself and her actions. Because Toby also took it seriously that she had these goddamn abilities.

Except he was insulting her car, taking about taking something from this supposed "Fishy-man", and calling "Fishy-man" her fucking pack mate? Pure confusion flashed across her face. Her hand had come up in a wooden, automatic gesture. Freezing mid-air with her fingers almost awkwardly cupped. Toby was so goddamn confused that her mind didn't know how to make her hand react fast enough to get away from what he gave her. Pocket change.

Goddamn, fucking pocket change and four fucking copper buttons.

"Did you hit your head a lot in life?" He was dumb as a fucking bag of rocks. That's what this was. But not in a way that made any goddamn sense to her. All it did was confuse her to no end because he seemed to believe what he was fucking saying. That her car had fought him and lost. That it should have used its fire. "It's not alive. It is a machine." Maybe he was just an asshole from a different time period with some freaky ass strength. Didn't mean he was off any hooks but she toned herself down about five paces despite wanting to beat his face in.

Then she pointed to where he had been walking. "You're not supposed to walk here. You're gunna fucking hurt someone keeping that shit up." She was durable, other people not so much. Fucker.

"Fuck you, bitch!" He shot back hostilely, puffing up with open indignation, teeth bared in immediate response to the stupid whelp's confidence. Though the mightiest of all hunters was a stranger to this pack, and knew that he ought to at least try to be respectful to the alphas he encountered, this stupid bitch was making it very hard to swallow his pride. He wanted to assert himself, and prove his superiority, but that was not the human way. Fishy-man had been very, very clear about that. If the proud beast wanted to become one of the pack - and he did, because the alternative was utter isolation - then he had to obey their way.

He raised a hand to touch his head, which was glorious and perfect. He liked the fur. It was growing on him, and it was very soothing to pet, but that wasn't the point right now. "I have fought many battles, and my head has been hit many times. But I have always been stronger and more magnificent!" The great predator boasted proudly. She was alpha, so surely she would appreciate that he had won many fights in his long, long, long lifetime. "I will rip the beating heart out of my challengers, and eat them. They know my dominance. I am most powerful. Your... your machine knows this." He patted it again, then hesitated, looking somewhat unsettled.

It wasn't alive at all. That was... "Machine... means dead? It is a corpse, then? You control... a corpse?" His expression didn't reflect judgement or disgust, though he couldn't deny that it wasn't his idea of honor to do such a thing. He knelt beside the car and squinted at it, running a hand over its crumpled shell. Most marvelous and beautiful eyes flicked over to the alpha bitch as she dared to scold him.

But, he took it on the chin, and glanced away in a very rare show of submission, because she had already proven that he did not know what he thought he did. Fishy-man, the most perfect hunter had been able to argue over and beat down. This one was new, and she managed to catch him off his guard. Her words sank in deeper. "I did not want to hurt your packmates. I have to... be like them now. I thought this was the human way." The glorious predator explained uncertainly as he stood upright again. "Why not there? What is fucking wrong with there? Your... machines walk there. Why the fuck not me?"

She didn't know how to react. She didn't know what to say. She just sort of... stood there and stared directly at this man who had obvious brain damage. Someone who kept calling himself magnificent of all damn things. Toby blinked heavily, not quite understanding what was happening and still trying to wrap her mind around how someone could act like this. Simply put, it was stranger behavior than Toby had ever seen before. Which was something considering she came from a really fucked up and weird world.

Machine meant it was dead?! "No. It wasn't alive to beg-- why am I explaing this?" Even Gilly understood what a machine was and Toby just sort of kept staring at him like he was growing a third eye smack dab on his forehead. One that was completely different from his other two because fuck this shit was weird. Even after he had rambled off his last question, Toby was silent. Her illusion covered eyes searching over his face in an attempt to try and understand... but utterly failing to do so.

"This is where cars go." She pointed what they were standing on, then gestured away in a motion that suggested movement. Then she pointed to each sidewalk, with her eyes still on him. "Humanoids go there. To keep them from breaking each other on accident." Which was what had happened here. Her car had not picked a fight with him on purpose, no matter what he thought.

Was he an alien? Like from space, somewhere up there where cars weren't a thing? "Cars are expensive. This pocket change ain't gunna cut it. You were walking on its path." She finally held up her hand and gave his pocket change a bit of a shake. Forty eight cents and some buttons weren't going to fucking cut it. "What's your name so I can tell my insurance company?" Because they were going to charge him for... something or other, she was sure. "I'm going to need your contact information so we can get it fixed." Toby had a lot of money but this... this wasn't something she should have or would walk away from. He wasn't a kid. He hadn't been running in terror and he wasn't hurt. Fucker was going to get her bug fixed or he was going to be buying her a new car.

Her eyes slid back to her poor bug. Hopefully it wasn't totaled. She really loved this car. It was from home. Maybe that was why she was irritated more than anything else. Fuck.

"Because I don't fucking know." He retorted bluntly. The great hunter would have thought that much was obvious, but despite her clear authority among her pack, he got the impression that this was not a very smart human. She obviously had some other reason for her dominance. Intelligence wasn't everything.

With very little experience to operate from, he had no way to know that she was giving him odd looks. Fishy-man had used the same expression, so the mighty beast could only assume that this was a normal human face. Kaiju rarely expressed themselves with just their head - they communicated with their great and glorious bodies, in more subtle ways. He supposed humans had to compromise, because they didn't have tails.

The predator looked between the path they were on, to the path that was for the humanoids. "Humanoids are... humans. New word, same... meaning." He drawled slowly, uncertainly. In any case, he finally realized where his fault had been. He had crossed onto a path he was not allowed upon. He was not so proud as to deny his own shortcomings, and with an angry huff the hunter stalked forward, grabbing the car by its sturdiest part. Lifting the crumpled front of the thing off the path, he hauled it off the bad path and onto the good path, rudely bouncing it up over the curb before setting it back down on the grassy knoll in front of a human nest. "Now the cars can walk." He stated proudly.

That his treasure was not enough to heal her beast was an unexpected disappointment, and the greatest of all predators wasn't sure what to do now. That was all he had taken from Fishy-man. He had thought it was a great bounty. "But it is treasure." He protested with confusion lacing his tone. What was expensive? Why did her car need so much treasure? It sparkled, and he had rubbed every coin meticulously until they glowed. That made them better.

"What is insurance company? A rival pack?" Weren't all humans of one pack, as kaiju were? They couldn't be so divided. Why would her trusted packmates not rush to an alpha's assistance? And what did she mean by contact information? Did she want to know the best ways to touch him? The hunter did not particularly like touches at all, but he supposed...

Reaching out, he grabbed her hand that was not holding his great wealth, and then forcibly placed it on the top of his head with an expression of utter bewilderment. "The fur is soft. It is a good contact." He explained blankly, awkwardly bouncing her hand against it in case she was too stupid to know what to do.

He had avoided the name question for as long as he could, but the predator realized it probably was pointless to keep skirting it. "I do not have a name in the human way. Fishy-man said that your kind knew me as Godzilla, but that is a stupid fucking name and I will rip God's heart out. I do not... I am not a comparison." He insisted boastfully, with a haughty tone. "Flying-man said kaiju is another word that the humans use, but that is not for me. It is for us. Do you understand?" She was very stupid, so she might not.

He really didn't understand any of this. She felt like she was losing IQ points trying to understand but he was as dense as a mountain. "Humans are humanoid yes, but anything that is in this general shape is-- fucking hell." Toby didn't think she knew how to explain any of this right. This was just... everything they were speaking about were basic concepts that everyone knew from a young age. Toby wasn't a great teacher, but she had a lot more patience when it came to kids. Or maybe, when she hadn't just gotten her car totaled.

'No! They're not a fucking rival pack!" Except now there was this image of two insurance companies snapping fingers and glaring at each other West Side Story style. It was ridicilous on so many levels but there it was and now Toby knew she wouldn't be able to get that image out of her mind anytime soon. Fucker.

She was bewildered to a certain degree but she drew lines at being touched. He grabbed her hand and then put it on his hair? "Hey!" Toby jerked her hand back with a decent amount of force. He was strong enough that she wouldn't hurt him, that much was clear, so she wasn't afraid to use a bit of her aura to pull away. "Do not do that shit, man!" Obviously he didn't know what he was doing but Toby was not hav-- AND THERE WENT HER CAR AGAIN!

"NO! FUCK!" What was wrong with this fucker? He had to have problems on so many levels. "Cars don't--" Toby cut off her words and just put her hands up to her temples in an attempt to stop her building headache. Godzilla? His name was... he couldn't be talking about that giant fucking lizard. This guy was human. "Who is Fishy man?" It was obvious she needed to talk to whoever Fishy-man was to get this all solved. Because wanna be Godzilla wasn't understanding her and Toby didn't know how to speak his level of idiot. Maybe Fishy Man could translate. "Who is Flying man?" They sounded like two different people. Whoever they were, Toby was going to have a conversation or three about this.

"And forty eight cents is not a treasure. It takes thousands and thousands of these to pay for that." Probably more but Toby's strong suit did not lie in any mathmatical direction. "These buttons aren't worth anything!" Titanna's tits! What was she going to have to try and explain next?!

"You're very fucking angry, aren't you?" It was probably the pot calling the kettle black, but he really wasn't used to not being the angriest fucker in a two mile radius. The alpha bitch seemed personally offended that the mightiest of hunters did not know everything there was to know about humanity already, and, in the back of his mind, he wondered if he ought to... try and explain things. But then, she was so angry, he doubted it would make any difference. The bitch wasn't going to listen to reason.

He flinched when she shouted again, then scowled. "Well how the fuck am I supposed to fucking know that, bitch?!" He bellowed at her, unable to keep his temper under check any longer, because she was being utterly unreasonable and she wasn't making any sense, and he was fucking confused and angry and he couldn't help but let it explode outward.

He gave her a scathing look when she acted like a reactive hatchling again. "You asked for my contact information. That is the only contact I will allow." The great hunter explained as patiently as he could, and as he hauled her stupid fucking car out of the way, he didn't even bother reacting to her screeching. It was too tiresome. She was very loud.

The mighty predator turned to face her, appearing somewhat unhappy that she clearly did not recognize Fishy-man. "He is a proud and noble hunter of your pack. Strong, and smart. He lives in the ocean and on the shore, and tells me much of humanity. He lives in a nest on top of the sharp hill over the ocean." He pointed in the direction he had come from, squinting slightly. "He has a human name, but I do not know what it is. Arthur? I do not know. And Flying-man is a human who flies. He is good and strong as well. Your packmates trapped me in great, terrible, magic nets. Flying-man set me free. He is very good. Proud and strong." The mighty beast nodded firmly.

Thousands and thousands of shiny pieces of treasure sounded... impossible, and the great hunter wilted with a somewhat worried expression. He had only intended to wander the human world for a time. He'd thought that, when he returned to Fishy-man's nest, he would do so triumphantly. He would mock him for suggesting that the most splendid and beautiful of all kaiju needed a chaperone to be among humanity.

Now, it didn't feel so stupid, and he silently wished he had just waited for Fishy-man to come with him.

"I did not know..." The beast admitted, and he averted his gaze again. "This treasure is all I have."

Was she very fucking angry? Toby had actually been working on being calm lately. Trying to take control of her emotions and be a better person. All that shit that was supposed to be good for her or whatever. But then Toby got into situations like this and suddenly she hit an irritation level that was difficult to reign in. Toby did think she was pretty justified right thing. This entire fucking situation was beyond ridiculous.

"I don't want to touch you." Nice and simple, clearing communicating why that wasn't okay. No way in hell did Toby want to touch some random dude's hair. She didn't know where he had been. He went on to explain who fishy man was. Supposedly. Half of what he was saying didn't make any sense to Toby. He didn't sound like someone she had met before or could easily I.D., but she also had a feeling that this man was using weird verbiage just to throw her. Maybe. She really couldn't tell.

Arthur. At least she had a first name, though it was a common enough one. King Arthur? She knew he had been floating around for awhile. This man had some weird ass body language, never mind how he spoke, and she just stared at him before lifting her hands to run through her own hair. Apparently, today was just going to be a day of stress.

"Do you have a phone number? That's what no-- people use for contact information." She had almost spoken normal people, but Toby was trying to be... non-confrontational. To a certain degree. "Look do you know how to contact this... fishy-man Arthur? Maybe... maybe he can get this all... sorted." Hopefully fishy-man Arthur wouldn't be as bad as... whoever this fuck was. She still hadn't gotten a name but at this point, Toby was kind of giving up on any kind of normal conversation. It seemed like some sort of hopeless wish. Kaiju... Godzilla... "Wait you're... you... Godzilla? You mean that big fucking lizard by Cascade Bay?" She hooked a thumb in a random direction, though it was supposed to be towards Cascade Bay. Truth be told, Toby wouldn't have known which way South was by a long shot but... it didn't really matter. Not to her.

The mighty hunter gave a soft huff of disbelief when she asserted that she did not want to touch him, but he didn't argue. It was her prerogative. He knew he was most wondrous and beautiful, but if she didn't want to revel in his glory, that was her own choice and the beast wouldn't press the matter. Perhaps his splendor was intimidating.

"Phone... number? Phone... Oh! Yes! Yes!" The words which Fishy-man had made him recite sprung to the majestic predator's mind all at once and he blurted them in a rush, looking quite pleased with himself. After all, he was sure that Fishy-man might have had great doubts about his ability to remember so many stupid words, but the hunter had proven him wrong.

He wasn't sure why the alpha bitch expected Fishy-man to do much. He was not, after all, the most splendid of all predator's alpha. The mighty predator did not answer to Fishy-man. He had taken his treasure, after all, and he had left on his own accord. He was not some stupid hatchling to keep to one nest. He was dominant and ferocious.

And his face broke into a relieved smile as soon as the dumb bitch, who really wasn't very smart at all, finally realized his true nature. Puffing up nobly, the predator nodded. "That big fucking lizard, yes! The biggest, and strongest. My cry is loudest. My claws are sharpest. When I do battle, the mountains shake! Yes!" He grinned savagely, then his expression tapered back into maudlin unhappiness.

"I took a sleep, and when I woke..." He thrust his hands out dismally, looking abruptly wrecked and miserable. "No claws. No tail. No fangs. Still beautiful, though. I'm very pretty." He rubbed his cheeks with a bit of a happier air.

Then, without skipping a beat, he mimicked her gesture and thumbed over his shoulder. "Ocean's that way, dumb bitch. How did you become alpha at all? Was it just your fierceness and beauty?" He wrinkled his nose.

"Two of three isn't fucking bad, I guess."

He rattled off a number and Toby pulled out her scroll to start plugging it in. With some sort of hope that Fishy Man Arthur would be able to help her out and figure out what was going on. Before she could hit dial though, he answered her question and Toby just stared. Godzilla. He was saying that he was that giant fucking lizard. He was saying he was God-fucking-zilla turned into a human.

Was she breathing? Was her mind working correctly? Did she need to clean out her ears? Was that fucking possible?! It had been a long time since something had made her think such a thing. Crazy things happening in Pandora was basically normal for Toby at this point. She had been here long enough to feel like she had adjusted to most kinds of curve balls it had for her but apparently not. Toby took a sharp breath and confirmed that she was breathing completely normal. This was not some sort of reality break of her mind or fucked up dream she hadn't woken up from. No, it was Godzilla in a human suit.

I'm very pretty. "For fuck's sake, man." She had never met someone so goddamn proud of themselves. It bordered on hysterical for her but she was certain that he was completely serious. Not a single joke to be found in there. "You--" And then in came out of his mouth. Dumb bitch. There was part of Toby's mind that stopped for a second. Stalled and tried to reason with herself. Fierce and beauty?! Alpha?

No, there had been too many lines crossed. Breaking her car from home. Talking like this. Trying to pay her in pocket change. Reaching out and touching her. Putting her hand in his hair? Dumb bitch? A back handed compliment tacked on a-- No. Fuck all that shit. "Jackass." Her lip had curled then her hand had come up. She slapped him across his face. Hard, even if it still wasn't her full aura strength. It was significantly more than she would have given anyone else but he had taken a car straight on like that. He could take it.

It wasn't a punch. That had to be a win even if she was smacking someone. That someone was an absolute asshole and if he wanted to take issue with that slap? Toby could upgrade to a punch. Straight to his fucking nuts. Or a kidney. Nuts were extreme and she knew that. Her eyes were completely flat as she looked at him afterwards, lifting her scroll and started a face call. Whoever this fishy-man Arthur was, he was about to get a fucking ear full if he was someone responsible for this.

The greatest of all predators thought for certain that he had finally communicated with the alpha bitch. After all, she stopped her wailing and gnashing of her teeth, and seemed to regard him with appropriate awe. Bustling with pride, the mighty hunter shifted his weight, feeling self assured and confident.

And, of course, he didn't expect at all for the crazy human to hit him.

The blow itself was nothing to a beast such as himself. It barely stung, though he could tell that it was stronger than he would have expected from a human. What struck him more, and what made his expression twist into one of alarm, was that the dumb bitch had hit him at all, knowing what he was. Who he was. Surely she knew he could rend her apart, limb by limb.

As his head twisted to look at her, there was a split second of wide, blazing yellow eyes. In that moment, his teeth had grown to points, and he looked less human than before.

But then, the greatest and most splendid of all Kaiju gave a deep, bellowing laugh of delight and pride. "Yes! You are definitely an alpha! Such dominance! Your enemies must fear you!" He applauded vigorously, eyes aglow with pleasure. The beast understood now, of course, that he had spoken out of turn. He understood her blow more than her words. Words were confusing, but a strike had clear meaning: You are being offensive and you need to shut up.

In his true form, he was not immune to such treatment, though he would not have tolerated it so freely from one he did not know. Mainly only the moth would have such liberty in his natural form, to scold him for acting the hatchling. This one was like the moth, except angry and defiant. Like the moth, she lacked a certain physical strength, perhaps, but made up for it in savagery and passion.

"You are a good alpha. I should not have insulted you so. You lead your pack with pride and strength. I see that now. You are powerful."

She hung up that phone call and then took a deep breath. She wasn't sure how everything had wound up like this but suddenly Godzilla turned human was going to start working for her as of-- she couldn't even finish that thought. It was so outlandish that Toby couldn't wrap her mind around it fully. But apparently Godzilla would be reporting for work and Toby was going to have to figure out what that meant. She'd have to get some sort of contract ready. A fair one, but one that did have part of his wages going back to her car repairs. It would still take him a good amount of time to pay it off, even if she just had him pay for repairs and not for renting a replacement. If her car could be saved.

She really did feel a bit overwhelmed by all of this. Toby put her scroll back into her pocket and looked back at her card that she had pushed into Goji's hands. "Ask Fishy Man Arthur what that means." She wasn't going to explain any of that to him now. "Don't lose it and don't damage it." Or maybe she should consider talking to Goji like talking to Gilly. Straight forward and with little room for error. Toby just didn't have any warmth in her voice like she would have for her daughter.

Instead she ran her hands back over her face before pulling her scroll back out (she was certainly scramble minded) to call a tow truck. It was time to start getting home. Time to get away from this and whatever other crazy bullshit was going to happen to her that day. She couldn't wait to tell everyone else that they'd be working with Godzilla though. She was sure a number of her team would get a fucking kick out of it and that didn't seem like a good idea either.

The mighty hunter fumbled the card initially, struggling to hold it without damaging it, then stared at Toby with open wonderment and confusion. He looked down at what she had given him, trying to make sense of it, then back up at her. Finally, with exaggerated care, he slipped it into his pocket and patted it fondly. It would not be lost if he left it there. That was what the clothes-hole was for.

Hesitating, unsure of what to do now, the great predator pursed his lips. "Do I stay, or do I go?" He asked tentatively, aware that she was an enraged alpha who he had already insulted many times, who had still chosen to be noble and true despite his antagonism. He did not want to make it worse just yet. He was trying to do as Fishy-man desired. "Do you need... help?"

Did he stay or did he-- For a second, Toby was about ready to tell him to fuck off but he was trying to help. Asking if he could help or rather if she needed it. Toby stared at him for a few moments while trying to figure out what kind of help Godzilla could possibly assist with right then. All that damage had been done. Toby was beyond stressed out by everything that had happened and she just wanted to go home. After all of this, she just wanted to go home and drink. Maybe have a hysterical cry from just how ridiculous her life was.

"Just go." Toby waved him off and stood next to her car with her scroll next to her phone. "I'll see you tomorrow." Her tone wasn't as harsh as it had been before but she was also pulling out a smoke to help calm her down further. She'd chain smoke until that tow car showed up and then she'd take a fucking taxi home afterwards.

One thing was clear, Toby needed a Pandora Bingo card to stamp as she went along life here. Drove over Godzilla. When was that likely to happen again?

He gave a heavy sigh, but he didn't move off immediately. Instead, he eyed the thingie she pulled out and his expression scrunched in confusion. It didn't smell like any of the food Fishy-man had offered him, but he wasn't sure, so he inched a bit closer, sniffing.

"What is that?" He pointed at the cigarette. "Is that a snack? Fishy-man explained those. Snacks are good." He was stuck in Toby Bitch's pack now. He had to forge some kind of connection to her, aside from anger and frustration. He was a great and powerful hunter, and he was largely independent, but he wasn't fucking stupid enough to think that a pack could exist if the members wanted each other dead.

Is that a snack? Toby had assumed that Goji had wandered off when she told him to. At least, she had stopped paying attention to him and apparently that was wrong of her to assume because Goji had circled back to take a poke at her cigarette. "No, it's not a snack." Except it also sort of was. It was stress relief. Which was something that Toby needed right then and there.

"This is bad for you." Toby didn't feel like doing much more than giving Goji straight forward answers. Toby didn't want to explain too much and she didn't want to share either. She was not in a very caring or friendly mood, but Toby was also trying not to snap at him because they were going to be working together for awhile. Just until things were even and then he would be out into trouble elsewhere. That was her plan. As soon as he was done paying back her bill for her car.

She took another deep breath of her cig and let out a slow puff of smoke. Waiting for this tow truck was going to test her patience if he stuck around but she didn't tell him to leave. Instead she just stood there and smoked, hoping their conversation was over. Hoping but somehow knowing that was a false hope to have.
