    Cascade Bay Locations

    DOWNTOWN

    CASCADE BAY INFIRMARY

Cascade Bay's hospital is one of the more modern locations in the town, but that's saying something as it's still very old-fashioned. There are some pieces of primitive machinery but overall, it's clear that this hospital is aimed more at old-fashioned medics, herbalists and surgeons as well as magical healers.

    ENCHANTMENT COTERIE

The Enchantment Coterie manages all affairs, disputes, policies, regulations, and resources for those who specialize in the arcane practice of Enchantment — specifically in regards to the use of potentially volatile substances to enchant/disenchant mundane or magical objects.

    GERTY'S IMPORTS

A small easily missed shop located in Downtown, Gerty's Imports pushes the limits of the Crystal Vale's technology limit. Items are imported from all around Pandora, their stock changing at a nearly magical rate

    THE HAMMER AND ANVIL

A smithy specializing in an assortment of metalwork. The large workshop lies beyond the front waiting room, cramped with bulky forges and tools. At the back is a door that leads to the shoeing yard. The workshop is, understandably, often swelteringly hot, even in the heart of winter. Commissions range from weaponry to ornamental work, repairs, and pretty much anything else that involves smelting, forging and shaping metals. See the floor plan here!

    SAND DOLLAR CAFE

A quiet establishment on the beach by the main town which sells a wide variety of drinks, ranging from traditional coffees to more tropical fruit punches, and has a varied menu of hot and cold snacks, and full meals. This cafe features both indoor seating for the rainy season as well as ocean-facing outdoor seating.

    THE SODOU'S FAMILY TAILOR SHOP

A little traditional Japanese house facing the sea in Cascade Bay. All sorts of medieval handmade clothes are available there, from western to eastern styles. The clothes are made-to-measure and any item of clothing can be altered there. There's a separate space in the back of the shop for the owner to live and work inside.

    HARBOR TOWN

    THE GRAND COTERIE

One of the larger buildings within the Harbor, the Grand Coterie — or just the Grand — is the home for all of Cascade Bay's assorted Coteries. Inside, there are several rooms designed to hold meetings, as well as a decent-sized reception hall for celebrations. Behind the building is a medium sized dock. Non-Coteries can book rooms — or even the entire building — for events, as long as Coterie affairs do not overlap

    THE DEVIL'S NEST

A pub that in spite of its dark appearance and name has a surprisingly friendly atmosphere. This place serves as a hideout and meeting place for Greed and his underlings, who comprise a majority of the people who frequent the pub. Those not associated with them wouldn't know any better though, as they keep their operations secret.

    CHILDREN'S HOME FOR LITTLE WANDERERS

This small orphanage for lost and orphaned children sits on the edge of Harbor Town. It’s a simple building that wraps around a small courtyard and garden at its center. They say that years ago, the building suffered from a terrible fire and you can sometimes hear the whispers of ghostly children down empty halls.

    PAWS CENTER FOR ANIMALS

The Paws Center For Animals offers a variety of services for animals in need. It is not only a shelter for strays, but provides excellent healthcare for a variety of Pandora's furry — or scaly, or feathered, or other — friends, ranging from the domestic housecat native to Earth to the more exotic chikapawpaw from Percania. PCFA staff are trained to be adaptive and nurturing above all, so if they are perhaps unfamiliar with your specific breed for now, no doubt they will find a way to help you very soon. Therapy services are also offered.

    HIDDEN CREST

    TREASURE ISLAND

A two-storey cozy bookstore near the beach with an old, dark wooden interior. Inside, it offers comfy armchairs and old wooden chairs to its customers. Customers are also offered a free cup of coffee or tea, or a glass of spiced Spanish wine. The books sold are old copies and mostly hardcovers: the kind of book where the smell of ink and paper hits you the moment you open it and the pages feel warm beneath your fingertips. It is quiet but very neat, everything has its order and no dust is to be found upon the shelves.

    THE GARDEN

The Garden serves as one of the main sources of freshly grown items within Cascade Bay. It’s set up in a small cavern on the edge of Hidden Crest, with an opening in the roof that lets in sunlight. It currently grows a variety of vegetables and fruit that are able to thrive on small amounts of sunlight and subterranean growth.

    THE MIST HOTEL

The Mist is the perfect destination for those who wish to stay within Cascade Bay, but don't necessarily wish to have a resort experience. Its charm is that of a cozy bed-and-breakfast, but surprisingly large. Typically used for travellers who are passing through the city, the small tavern downstairs holds an interesting selection of what Cascade Bay has to offer.

    Broken Alter Trail

A trail that extends around the entirety of the Western half of the Crystal Vales. Entirely cultivated from use, the worn dirt-trail is typically wide enough for a horse-and-carriage to comfortably move along. Generally considered one of the safer ways to navigate around the Crystal Vales, it is still not without its dangers.

    DRIFTER'S REPRIEVE

These crumbled ruins sit along the Broken Alter Trail. It is the last bit of shelter and stop before diving into the chaotic forests of the Crystal Vales. Food, drink, and a good story can typically be found in the Inn. Just be careful of bandits, who have been known to prey on the place.

    CENTER OF MEDICINES AND MAGIKS

The largest medical facility within the Crystal Vales pushes the limits of technology that the area will allow. While most of their healers lean more on magic, more practical uses of medicine are not uncommon. The facility is quite large; enough room for both short term and long term patients alike.

    Cold Harbor

One of the larger regions of the Crystal Vales, Cold Harbor encompasses the entirety of the Eastern coast; including the handful of islands within the inlet. The weather is typically cold and overcast, with fog rolling in from the sea. In the more shallow regions of the inlet, the skeletons of dragons and other mythical creatures can be seen above the waves.

    WATERFALL CAVE

A hidden cave behind a waterfall a short distance outside of Cascade Bay. During the day, this area is alight with sunlight streaming through openings in the rocks, while flowers and plants grow along the small lagoon. With the setting sun, the cave is set aglow with a rainbow of warm colors. Modest treasures and other hidden secrets also occupy the cave. Though unexplored, the cave eventually leads out to the sea.

    THE FORGOTTEN GROTTO

A wide grotto somewhat near Cascade Bay and part of the immensely long tunnel-system inside the cliffs, the Forgotten Grotto is reachable only by diving and is home to many merfolk including sirens, watershifters, or even seals and dolphins. In one of the bigger cave-rooms, the moon shines through the ceiling, illuminating the water and perhaps enchanting it in unknown, beautiful ways.

CRYSTAL PALACE BEACH RESORT & VILLAS

A popular tourist spot, the beach resort is technically located within Cascade Bay but requires walking up the coast away from the city itself. Made from ecologically-sourced wood and evoking a rustic, classic style ringed with trees, they feel wonderfully private but still offer direct beach access with your own loungers and expansive outdoor bathrooms. For entertainment, there is a bar restaurant that serves a variety of cocktails and foods, and even offers a special "couples section", where couples willing to pay a little extra can have the candlelit sea view dinner of their dreams.

    Dednear Woodland

Along the easternmost area of the Crystal Vales, the Dednear Woodland is the thickest and most uninhabited part of the vast forests of the Crystal Vales. Nature very much rules this area.

    THE MISTS

A place deep within the forests of the Crystal Vales, where magic and nature are the strongest force rather than man. It's a naturally wandering area that normally finds you, rather than the other way around. Impossibly large trees, endless caves, mushrooms the size of houses. Dangerous magical animals and beings tend to lurk within the shadows, though do not always mean harm. Those who seek answers typically find their way to the Mists, though what they find is not always what they so wish.

    OMINOUS CASTLE

There is a large castle that is said to be haunted by various demons and spirits and surrounded by a mist. The building itself is a combination of various feudalistic castle styles, from towering Eastern European spires to Japanese pagoda towers, to some that appear to have come from unknown hellish origins. There are dungeons in the basement, cavernous halls, and mystical corridors. Only the bravest of adventures dare explore this area.

    The Severed Haven

Large pieces of land float above the earth, appearing as if they were ripped by some awesome force long ago. A small and quiet community happily resides on these isles, though they are always welcoming to visitors. The weather tends to be more extreme on the isles than on the ground below, simply because of its height within the sky, and the air is also considerably thinner. They are only reachable by magical means.

    SCHOLA PRAEDITOS

A school for the preternaturally gifted, Schola Praeditos is located on one of the larger floating islands over the Crystal Vales, accessible by magical means only. Making use of an old castle-mansion which has been refurbished into a functional school, it houses gifted individuals of all sorts, from wizards to mutants to supernatural creatures who are interested in learning in a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all of their kinds. The Slumbering Abyss

A large crater on the south-west end of the Crystal Vales. Can only be entered by a winding road that goes around the edge of the chasm. Inside lays a Queendom all its own, with several small towns surrounding the Capital City, Heavenfell.

    HEAVENFELL

The Capital of the Abyss. Unlike the rest of the Crystal Vales, they are constantly pushing the limits of technology, using their local Crystal Mines to fuel their exploration and power. The by-product, however, has rumored negative effects upon magical users. Their architecture style is heavily Gothic, with large spires reaching towards the heavens. The tallest of these spires sits at the heart of the city, where the Abyss' Queen resides.

    CRYSTAL MINES

The largest source of Crystals within the Crystal Vales. Heavily protected by Heavenfell, as it is their most valuable resource.

    The Voiceless Heights

A mountain range that spans most of the way down the Crystal Vales, splitting the main area away from the Cold Harbor. Well-worn trails can lead people somewhat-safely through them, though the way is still rather hazardous.

    PERYTON'S KEEP

Located high in the mountains, the skyline of Peryton's Keep is dominated by the sweeping Gothic architecture of its magical university and the white-walled towers of its castle. Under every rock there seems to be hiding a new magical discovery to be made, and in every tavern a new adventure just waiting to begin. This is a wizard's city however, and, as decided by the King and the council of Ruling Families that run the city, no high-tech weaponry of any kind will be allowed past the gates.

    THE MAGES' GUILD

The Mages’ Tower is an impressive structure that can be seen for miles around. Nearly 300 ft. tall, it bears echoes of art nouveau and is full of elegant spires and sweeping buttresses. Located near the magically ruled Peyton’s Keep, the Mages’ Guild provides people with easy and affordable access to magic, offering a variety of services.

    Wilderness

Many places found in the Crystal Vales are still unaccounted for or simply stand apart from all the rest, in no small part due to how vast the region is. Getting to these out-of-the-way places is usually difficult.

    SOSAMMA ROAD

Sosamma Road sits right on the border between the Crystal Vales and Centria before curving down along the Bay of Pithos. The quaint unpaved path is home to a couple idyllic farms in the borderland region whose specialties range from alpacas and alfalfas (tended by @Tony Stark) to dinosaur-sized chickens (tended by @Wanda Maximoff). Technology still functions reasonably well on the northern end before fully succumbing to the regional balance of Valian territory. There's a swath of wilderness that flanks the road and farms, where creatures of all sorts (including actual dinosaurs) roam.

    THE CHARGERS' REST

Sitting upon the river delta where the two rivers meet south east of the Voiceless Heights, rests the fortified citadel of the @The Iron Bull and his Chargers, visible on the horizon from Cascade Bay this fortress is the base of operations for Bull’s Chargers and their mercenary bands. Training, storage of siege equipment and general business it all conducted here. While a heavily fortified fort in case of siege, the gates will open for civilians and merchants to ride through.
