    November 16th, Year 108. One of Elysium's Velvet Room Entrances
    @Margaret
    ~~~
    The slums were dark, but Minato had certainly known darker. Dodging between streetlights and shadows, watching over his back... It felt more like Tartarus than anything else. If he defocused he could almost hear himself giving orders to the team. A heal from Takeba, an assault from Sanada, or Kirijo. A call on Iori when he found something of note, Aigis's weapons, Ken's determination, Koromaru's spunk, Aragaki's brute strength, and Yamagishi's gentle voice, quick informing, and useful tactics. He missed his team dearly and at the moment he was better off not thinking about them. He was running an errand and the man who was paying him seemed very insistent on the delivery being speedy. He didn't like the man all that much, and his manner was bothersome. He'd taken the job anyway, the payment had been somewhat handsome.
    A blur of familiar blue caught his eye and he skidded slightly on the dry stone, eyes snapping to the glowing blue butterfly that had haunted his dreams since he gave himself up, since he'd come to Pandora, and the relief that swept through him at the thought of seeing Elizabeth -- hell, even Igor -- had the strength to level mountains. He pulled his headset down with the smallest smile on his face and followed the butterfly to a familiar blue door.
    The Velvet Room. Thank God. Some semblance of normalcy to this ridiculous universe. Plus, if the Velvet Room was open to him, he likely still possessed the Wildcard... He simply hadn't found a place yet where Messiah could be utilized. Obnoxious, but... Sensible. He turned the knob and stepped inside, but the Room was different enough for him to take pause.
    It was as if he'd walked into a temple. The door was at the bottom of a large staircase, several yards across, that led up to a semicircle platform. The wall behind it had a relief of dying creatures, the cycles of life. In fact every relief, mosaic, and image in this high-ceilinged building -- he did look up, and the dome just barely disappeared into mist. -- was of... Death.
    Something he'd escaped.
    He walked further in, hand straying to his sword. It was uncomfortably quiet in here, among the gigantic sidelining columns and the shadows that seemed to dance within. It was all that shade of blue, too, walls carved to mimic the padding he was used to.
    "... Elizabeth!" More of an order than a question as he kept moving forwards. "Igor!?"
    He didn't like how his voice... Echoed.
    A change in the Room. A change that she didn't know. A new entry. She opened her pack. Before coming to Pandora, she had never really had to do this. But it worked, and gave her warning about who was coming. But so did the shape that the Velvet Room took, and Margaret had her hunch about who was coming the moment that the Room took its shape. She was standing in a temple, to Thanatos. The Greek god of peaceful death. She had her hunch as to who this might be, standing behind the alter as if she was a priestess. She pulled the first card from the deck, and gasped.
    The Universe.
    A card that wasn't in that deck. A card that only one Wild Card, one person, has ever held. The most powerful Wild Card in history. The person that her sister had left the Room for. The Great Seal. Minato Arisato. That was all that Margaret needed to know, especially when in conjunction with the Velvet Room. Margaret heard a voice calling for her sister. This form was unusually huge, but it echoed easily. "In here, Universe," she called, her voice echoing back. "Welcome to the Velvet Room."
    Universe.
    The voice tugged at something in his memory as he noticed the altar and the woman behind it, who was most certainly not Elizabeth. His brow knit slightly and his hand found his sword's hilt with a practiced and careful grace. What had she called him... Universe.
    A dim recollection of his creation of Messiah and the true end of his life drew the explanation forth and the confusion cleared to partial neutrality as he approached the altar and the woman. The other part was part pride and part concern. Did... Universe change his status at all?
    It was the Velvet Room, and yet it wasn't. Igor was nowhere in sight, and this woman in front of him only dimly reminded him of the woman who had helped him in the elevator Room. Minato tilted his head slightly, examining the woman's face and outfit. The indifference was a little overshadowed by simple and pure curiosity.
    "... The Velvet Room is in Pandora?" He blinked at her and shoved his hands in his pockets, genuinely a little concerned now. It wasn't as familiar as he'd hoped. "And there are more users besides me..? Who... Are you? Where is Igor? What is going on?"
    Margaret took a breath, watching as Minato approached the altar. "It... wasn't," she replied softly. "But I have supported the Velvet Room before. I continue to do so now, even if it took a while to make it stable once more," she finished with a slightly wry smile, before her expression mirrored Minato's own, careful, patient, neutrality on her features. "There are. There is one chosen by my master's master. There is a Trickster, and the Trickster's nemesis, all of them Wild Card's like yourself, even if they are of different Arcana. One the Fool, and one Justice. And there are other, more ordinary Persona users, even if I have not met them."
    Ah, of course. No one remembered the events of the Labyrinth, so he would not remember her. "My name is Margaret. You have met my younger sister, Elizabeth. Neither she nor Igor are in this world. Sadly, I am your only guide. But I know you, Universe. My sister left the Velvet Room for love of you."
    Margaret. A stranger with a familiar face. He silently struggled to ascertain the amount of Wildcards she mentioned. At least three others? And with differing Arcana? How confusing... And a little obnoxious. His brow knit slightly in what might have been off-put confusion.
    He made little response to the comment on Elizabeth, besides a faint slump of the shoulders and a soft sigh. "... I had hope they -- and she, especially -- wouldn't come for me. That's not what they're supposed to do, and... My destiny was there at the Seal..."
    Grappling with this new information was slightly nerve-wracking. Of all things he didn't expect the Velvet Room to be stressful, but Pandora was full of unwelcome surprises.
    "... Does the Room still function without Igor? Could I fuse if I were to gain more Personas?"
    Margaret smiled softly. "When Elizabeth sets her mind to something, there is no changing it. My sister is not one to care about what she should do," she replied. "Even from the time I'm from, a couple of years later, she searches for a way to reunite with you. And continues to beat Erebus into submission whenever she feels he is getting too strong." Elizabeth leaving the Velvet Room of her own volition had always confused Margaret, but Igor had not stopped her, so Margaret didn't think it was her place to criticise.
    Margaret smiled to herself. "If you wish to fuse Persona, I can do that for you," she said. "I also keep track of Social Links and the Persona you gather."
    "Oh, good." For the first time he seemed genuinely comforted by something she's said. The explanation implied he still maintained the Wildcard, and could make use of Social Links in Pandora, which was a very, very welcome dash of normalcy. The smallest smile crossed his face and he nodded, eyes searching Margaret with less distrust and uncertainty. "So then... All of us have you as our Igor and Attendant then? I applaud your patience..."
    His hand itched and he felt for the familiar weight of his Evoker, which he slid out to reveal it to the light of day. An almost giddy eagerness overtook his expression and he looked up at Margaret. It had been what felt like a thousand years since he had summoned Messiah.
    "Can I..?" He raised the Evoker to illustrate his request.
    Margaret smiled slightly. Something in her wanted to be angry at Minato, who had stolen away her sister, given Elizabeth an idea of the world outside of the Velvet Room, upset the status quo that Margaret had spent so much time trying to keep. But at the same time, she was facing the Universe, who had given up so much for the world, made sacrifices that no other Wild Card ever had to. She laughed a little at his comment, letting her guard down a little. "Yes, though the work itself is significantly less trying than the other Wild Cards I have had to guide. The second Trickster..." Margaret trailed off, still worried. "Something took over the Velvet Room. Tore his attendant in two, stuck him in a game that was rigged from the start." Her voice seethed with barely concealed murderous rage, though it was clearly not directed at Minato.. "Created a parody of everything that the Velvet Room was supposed to be."
    She took a breath, her expression returning to soft neutrality. "Sure," she replied, a faint smile on her face. She had never seen Messiah summoned. It would certainly be a sight. "There is a realm in this world that mimics the effect of the Dark Hour, and the Midnight Channel. You can summon your Persona there, if you prefer." The Otherworld was odd, but possibly a better location for this than the Velvet Room.
    Ah, a second Wildcard? She must've meant Akechi... The boy had seemed genuinely troubled that day on the river, and he couldn't forget the sense of flippant... Coverage about him, as if he was seeing a mask instead of a person. A forged Velvet Room seemed capable of causing such damage...
    "Akechi, yes? I've met him already..." He bounced the tip of the Evoker lightly, a smile playing at his face. "I may have triggered a Social Link with him, though what I received was the Hanged Man..."
    That was pushed aside in favor of a Persona summoning. He made note of Margaret's mention of another world in which to do this, but the ceiling was high enough here, Messiah wouldn't do any damage. Probably.
    He raised the Evoker to his temple and shut his eyes. The whisper that left him reverberated in the air.
    "Persona..!"
    The shot, the shatter of blue glass wisps that circled him like a homecoming, whipping his hair out of his eyes. He sucked in a breath and felt the presence of the Persona before he turned around.
    Messiah stood -- hovered, really -- in all the pale glory of his form. He was notably quite a bit bigger than any other Persona really ought to be, the top of it's being did almost vanish into the overhead fog, but his estimations had been right. No structural damage.
    Minato burst into a laugh, wild and joyous and so unlike anything he normally was. Messiah was a relief to see, even when the Persona's massive form faded after a minute or two. That childishly bright smile remained on Minato's face. "Thank you, Margaret."
    "No, not Akechi," Margaret said. Another, another Wild Card? Well, she had that to look forward to. She supposed. She opened her book, noticing the card. "Indeed, you have formed a bond with him. The Hanged Man. The card of sacrifice." It was an... odd bond, not that she'd say that out loud. Especially a bond to form with another Wild Card. She'd have to see what bond it made on the other side. She expected the Universe. It just made sense. "I speak of Ren. And a Wild Card is not always a Trickster, Universe. Tricksters are those born to defy fate. They are even rarer than Wild Cards." She only knew of two, and both were in Pandora.
    She watched, understated awe on her face. Messiah was... a sight. Even Yu's Ultimate Persona didn't compare. It dwarfed even Persona that she could use. She almost wanted to fight Minato, just to see what it was capable of. But that would be business for another time. "To see Messiah is a gift in itself," Margaret replied. "I should be thanking you."
    Another Wildcard? How many were in Pandora anyways? The smile dropped off his face briefly, quietly thoughtful. That made him, Akechi, and one other, adding onto that those two were... Tricksters? What a strange new categorization, born to defy fate instead of follow it, almost his direct opposite. Odd. Interesting. He'd file that away for the discussion when he met back up with Akechi.
    Her awe and response to Messiah made a warmth bloom in his chest, of fondness and a true sense of peace he hadn't felt in several weeks. The smile softened into something genuinely happy. "I think I am happy Pandora brought me here... Even if I shouldn't be alive... It's wonderful, in a strange way."
