It was only a day ago when Lucina had awakened in the middle of a field after being transported from the Tempest to gods knew where. For the past day, she had done her best to keep herself out of sight, avoiding contact with others as she tried to gather her bearings for what had happened. So far, she had hardly come up with any sort of explanation to tell herself. She wasn't even certain whether she was still inside of the Tempest or whether she was somewhere completely separated from the event.

The princess had decided it was best to continue wearing her butterfly mask over her face as a precaution for whatever may lie ahead for her fate. Her alias "Marth" would also have to do to go along with it. If it so happened that revealing her true identity would bring her into harm's way, the princess desired to steer away from allowing danger crawl to her.

Lucina had yet to encounter any of the inhabitants of the world, but she had seen enough silhouettes in the distance for her to know that she was not alone in a barren wasteland of a world. It contained its own inhabitants who appeared to be civilized from her perspective. At the very least, she had yet to witness anything that suggested otherwise.

Only a day after her awakening, Lucina decided to take a small gamble. She had faith that no matter what happened, it would not be the worst she could imagine, yet Lucina couldn't help but feel the risk that was involved in such a reckless course of action.

What she had decided to do was approach what appeared to be a city of sorts, where no doubt there would be plenty of people. Perhaps she could seek someone's assistance, or at the very least learn more about the situation she found herself stuck within.

With hesitation and Falchion fitted into its sheath on her left hip, the blue haired girl walked into the city she had spotted earlier that day. Upon her entry, she couldn't help but feel as if the city itself had a culture that was almost similar to her own home's, but at the same time, it was clear there were other cultures mixed within the city itself. It was enough to astound Lucina, which was shown only by her slightly gaping mouth as she slowly took in her surroundings.

All of the people within the city left her in a similarly astonished mood as she saw a wide variety of folks, including a few who had things that she had never even dreamed of within her lifetime. "What kind of world is this...?" The princess murmured under her breath as she began to walk deeper into the port town.

She was not certain what her future in the town had in store for her, but that was not something she could question for the time being. Instead, she wanted to keep her focus on figuring out what was happening and where she even was.

Brigitte was back in Cascade Bay again, feeling well and trying to keep herself busy by looking around town by any signs of trouble. For that purpose, she was wearing her full armor just in case she suddenly found herself in a fight. However, so far things seemed to be pretty quiet and nice, so she decided to just enjoy a stroll the town, though she figured she needed to check on Reinhardt soon just to make sure he hadn't gotten himself in trouble again.

It was always interesting to look at the general population around when she was going around town, if only because people in Pandora were so... wildly different from each other sometimes. This wasn't the case with the latest person to catch her eye though, as she seemed to be a normal human girl, but her attire was what got Brigitte interested. Specifically, it was the mask that she was wearing. It was pretty, but also made her wonder why this person was walking around with a mask in the first place.

They had been walking in opposite directions, so when they were about to run into each other, Brigitte waved at her. "Hej! That's a nice mask you got there. Is there someone hosting a masquerade around here?" She asked, the mask on the lady's face looking much like the ones you would see in such a party.

    Hej = Hi

It was hard for Lucina to not notice the beauty of the city she had come across. The salty scent of a nearby ocean filled her nostrils. Easily, the scent began to relax the girl more, but she continued to keep her guard up as watched the vastly different people who passed her. Some of them glanced back at her, but the mask covering her eyes made it difficult to say for sure whether or not Lucina was staring back at them as they did unless they were clearly out of her sight.

A woman she was taking a glance at was one in what appeared to be a thick suit of armor, yet it was nothing like she had ever seen. Never before had she seen a knight wear armor with such a design. On the battlefield, she had faced and allied with men and women who wore gigantic suits of armor that were nearly impenetrable aside from the spells of mages.

From a glance alone, it almost appeared as if the armor that the woman was wearing would have almost the same amount of defense, but with far greater speed and mobility. Clearly, an expert blacksmith had designed the suit of armor.

To her surprise, that woman had suddenly greeted her with an odd yet fair question. She nearly recoiled from the surprising first words that she would hear, but Lucina regained her composure after a moment. "No, this is simply a mask," She explained to her, putting on a lower voice as if to sound like a boy, "If there is a masquerade, it is not one that I am aware of. This is my first-time arriving in this city."

Well, that was weird. If this person wasn't going to an event of some kind, why the mask? The only reason one would want to hide their face is that they didn't want to be recognized, which usually meant that they were trying to hide from someone and that by itself raised some suspicions. Of course, Brigitte wasn't about to assume that this person was some kind of criminal trying to make their escape, but she kept herself on guard nonetheless.

"Oh, so is this just your first time in Cascade Bay, or are you new to Pandora in general?" She asked, trying to subtly draw some information from her (or was she actually a man...?) so she could have a better understanding of just who this person was.

From an initial perspective alone this person seemed to be dressed in some very fancy looking clothes, kinda like something you would expect from royalty. The problem, however, was that Pandora had a more modern type of government, nothing like kings and queens. So maybe this person was just new to Pandora and the mask had some actual purpose back in her home that was lost in the transition from one world to another. It was about as good of a guess as any, at least.

The princess listened to the modern armored knight without averting her gaze, hoping that retaining eye contact would allow her to focus more upon any subtle hints and details that she would leave for Lucina to use to help herself figure out exactly what her situation was. In a land such as... wherever she was, she knew she'd have to do such. Either that or locate a library to divulge information from any history books that may be written about this land; however, simply speaking with the locals may be enough for the time being.

And already it was paying off: Lucina learned something new. If she was inferring the woman's statements correctly, the city itself must be known as Pandora, and the particular section they were in must be Cascade Bay. It's not as if people suddenly appearing in the country would be normal enough to ask about if they've been there before, right? It must have simply been the chaos of the Tempest that caused her arrival.

Although she knew the names now, she couldn't help but feel as if that was not enough information to be able to properly manage in the foreign land. "You are correct, this is my first time arriving in this city and country," She explained to the woman, "You say it's called Pandora? That's a unique name for a city."

Why was it known as Pandora of all things? It didn't sound as if it would be the name of a city, but rather a person. Perhaps the city was named after them? All Lucina knew was that, for the time being, she should refrain from describing her sudden appearance in a field and instead simply act as if she had come in from overseas, else this woman would believe her to be insane.

Yeeeeah, this person was definitely new to the world. It was a little funny to see someone who spoke in such a confident, even a little refined manner be so clueless about what was going on. Of course, Brigitte couldn’t fault them for it, Pandora was a really weird place for anyone, unless they already had a habit of going through different worlds… somehow.

"New to Pandora then." Brigitte chuckled. "Pandora isn’t a country or a city, though we do have a capital of sorts called Pandora Town. It’s a whole different world, everyone here has been taken away by those weird black vines and brought here for whatever reason." She shrugged, letting out a somewhat resigned sigh. "We have no idea how to escape this place, but until we do, we’re trying to live our lives as we can."

The fast judgment upon her being a newcomer to Pandora caused for some blood to flow toward Lucina's cheeks, forming a blush. She had gambled an attempt to not appear to be as much of an outsider as she seemed and failed with little questions about it. "...Y-Yes, that is true," The princess shamefully admitted, glancing to the side before returning eye contact with the other woman.

As the woman began to describe the state of the world to Lucina, she began to listen with as much attention as she could offer. The more information she could receive about where she was, the better off she would be in figuring out what she was supposed to be doing in such a place; however, the reply she had received was not necessarily one in which she was happy to hear. "So this entire realm is practically a prison? People taken away from their home realms and locked up within another, forced to live together..." Lucina reiterated, letting out a sigh, "I will have to do my part in discovering a way to escape. There is... a lot that I must take care of, to say the least."

For a moment, the princess remained silent as she seemed to be taking in all the information she had gathered once again. If she hadn't already been traveling between multiple worlds and realms, perhaps this would have taken a far greater toll on her than it was. That was not to say it detracted from her hope to return to her home, but at the very least she had a calmer mindset. "There is something important I must know," Lucina began, "Do you happen to know if there is a 'Tempest' that is related to the appearance of all of these people? Or perhaps do you know of a mischevious sorcerer named Loki?" Although Lucina wasn't certain that Loki and her Tempests were related, she figured she would at least test and see. The description she was given certainly did fit Loki's memo almost perfectly.

"Yeah, it's a weird interdimensional prison or something like that." Brigitte grimaced, realizing just how crazy what she was saying would sound to a person new to Pandora.

Yet, this woman seemed... not exactly comfortable with the idea, but more so that she was more willing to accept that reality than most people would be. Her surprise was more in the fact that it happened than in the fact it was possible for something like it to happen, to begin with. As much as she looked like some kind of noble from a fantasy kingdom, she didn't look like the kind of person who would be hopping through worlds very often.

"Uh..." Brigitte raised an eyebrow, curious about those two individuals the woman was talking about. "No, I haven't heard anything about those two here. From what I understand, nobody really knows who trapped us here, just that they're really powerful."

Wasn't Loki a god? The way she spoke about him made him sound like your everyday mage (well, as "everyday" as it could be") so maybe it was just someone else with the same name. Still, it was a bit weird that she already seemed to have an idea of who might be responsible for all this.

"Do you think they have anything to do with Pandora?"
Brigitte asked, looking at the lady with interest and curiosity in her eyes.

A frown formed upon Lucina's lips as the other woman confirmed what she was saying to be true, or at the very least accurate. Was this Loki's way of being able to dispose of not only herself but as well as others who may stand in her way? It seemed as if she was taking innocents who had nothing to do with the conflict based upon the normal people who appeared to have settled in the realm.

Although, Lucina did have to contemplate whether the two were even related considering that the woman she spoke with had no clue what she had been speaking about despite having been in this place for what Lucina figured was much longer than her own time in Pandora. Of course, she had to explain the Tempest to the previous worlds that she had arrived in and only discovered Loki whilst battling the Tempest, so perhaps this is a similar situation. Not that it confirms the presence of the Tempest or Loki.

"Really powerful? Hmm..." Lucina mumbled in ponderation. It could have still fit Loki's description, considering her affiliation with the Tempest, but it still provided nothing that the princess could legitimately go off on.

She shook her head as she looked back up at the armored woman. "Perhaps it all might, but it could be an entirely different issue altogether," Lucina admitted with a small nod, "I would have to investigate more before being able to come to that conclusion, as usually there are clear signs of the Tempest. Although, this is a rather abnormal situation, to begin with, so perhaps its telltale signs are different, too."

A sigh escaped Lucina's lips as she crossed her arms, looking over the other woman once again. "Though... I must ask something about you as well," The princess began, pressing her lips together as she thought of how to word her question, "I have traversed across many worlds, from the world of Shadows to the world of Radiance to the world of Birthright and all in between, yet in all of my travels I have yet to encounter you, nor anyone like you. Perhaps the Tempest never struck your world, but that doesn't restrain my curiosity. None worlds I have visited have equipment like your own."

Well, it was interesting to see someone approach the situation with such a calm and collected attitude. At this point, it was already clear that this woman had already dealt with something of this kind before, though it was the first time Brigitte had heard of anything called "Tempest" since her arrival, so chances were that Pandora was something else entirely. The fact stuff like this happened in other places and from different sources was a little frightening to think about though. It meant that there could be multiple of these interdimensional kidnappers around and, as Pandora had shown, there really wasn't anything anyone could do about it.

Brigitte's musings were interrupted when the topic shifted to herself. Apparently, the woman had never seen anyone like her before and, by that, she meant anyone with the kind of equipment she was wearing. It was a nice break from the dire train of thought Brigitte was in and she couldn't help but smile with pride when her equipment was pointed out.

"Of course you never saw anything like it before. I made it myself." She activated her shield, which suddenly expanded with a blue, transparent energy barrier around it, making it significantly bigger than it was before. Then she placed the mace on her shoulder with an audible clank from metal on metal. "I'm Brigitte Lindholm, local mechanic and also a squire." She spoke with noticeably more confidence in her voice, trying to give herself more presence by putting more power in her words

One thing that Lucina couldn't help but notice was how suddenly the woman's mood began to change after her mention of the armor she wore. She appeared to be a lot more enthusiastic and happy than over the grim topic that the princess had previously put into the woman's mind. Perhaps it was for the best to stick to the topic rather than linger on the prior concern. Besides, it didn't appear as if Lucina was going to be able to change the topic back and be able to gather more information.

Plus, the armor was actually really cool. It was hard for her to not break out of character out of simple admiration for it, but she managed to hold her ground. "I have visited many blacksmiths in my time, and none of them ever have crafted anything akin to your own," The princess explained to Brigitte before a small smile formed on to her lips, "It sounds as if you're proud of your handiwork, and I see no reason why you shouldn't be."

Her eyes widened in surprise upon seeing what appeared to be some sort of enchanted shield. No longer could she hide her amazement as her jaw dropped. "W-What?!" She exclaimed, recoiling as she processed the device in front of her, "How have you made such a divine shield? Have you enchanted it with some sort of magic?" At the very least, Lucina couldn't say she didn't try to withhold her enthusiasm.

Soon, she realized the inappropriate nature of her gushing over the woman's, who introduced herself as Brigitte, equipment. Coughing into her fist, Lucina attempted to ease herself back into character. "My apologies, that was inappropriate," The blue haired girl said with a small bow of her head, "You may call me Marth. It is nice to meet you, Brigitte."

She refrained from pressing her lips together upon muttering her alias. The more she used the name, the more normal it came to her, and the removal of her individualism was starting to take its mental toll on the girl. Why didn't she start to use her real name again? She vowed to fight as Lucina long ago, yet she covered her tracks upon entering the Tempest with her fake name. Perhaps someday she would be herself again.

The sheer awe that the girl, or... man? Marth sounded like a male name but her overall figure and even voice was making things a little confusing. Either, his (?) reaction was such that Brigitte couldn't help but pretty much radiate with pride, feeling her ego inflate just a little bit. As long as she didn't get carried away with it, it was fine, right? Everybody needed a little confidence booster every now and then.

"Hey, it's fine. You don't need to be so prim and proper with me." Brigitte's smile softened a little bit. "But to answer your question, it's not magic, nor is it a divine shield or anything. It's just an energy barrier. These things are a bit more common where I come from and are completely man-made." She answered, then making her shield return to its normal state now that the demonstration was over.

The way people reacted to her equipment like it was some type of magic often made Brigitte think about how science and technology was just magic that could actually be explained instead of just being some kind of supernatural power. For those who didn't know how it worked, her shield might as well have been magic or even divine, but for those more used to technology, it was nothing more than a fancy shield.

The princess nodded her head silently in recognition of her assurance. "If you wouldn't mind me, then so be it," She responded. She appeared to be just someone who is part of this town anyway rather than some sort of lord, not that should excuse her to not be polite. No matter someone's standing, she should always remain respectful. In the end, they all are on the same side.

The explanation that soon followed afterward astounded Lucina. An energy barrier...? She wondered if it was akin to a magic barrier, but this woman seemed to insist that energy and magic were completely different types of entities. "Truly? That is very astounding!" She remarked with a smile on her lips, "Even if it isn't magic, it still appears as if it was... It appears as if it's a prestigious weapon to be able to craft!"

The more the princess continued to talk, the more she found her tone starting to resemble Owain's when it came to naming weapons. Except, Lucina isn't about to go out of her way to put a name on this alien "energy barrier" that she had never seen heard of until this point. At the very least, she is starting to get a better idea of the excitement that he appears to have in regards to a new blade or technique.

"Are there more of these types of 'energy barriers' in this world, too? Or, at the very least, created with this 'energy' rather than magic?" The masked woman asked out of curiosity. It was hard to deny any sort of fascination she may have for this strange force of 'energy.' What else is it used for aside from Brigitte's barrier?

Marth sure took the word energy and ran with it, huh? Brigitte couldn't help but feel it was a little awkward to hear the word being said like it was some kind of foreign concept, which it probably was, as far as Marth was concerned, but it still felt odd. Still, Brigitte found that excitement a little endearing compared to how serious he had been carrying himself so far. It was a nice change of pace if nothing else.

"I haven't seen a lot of things like my equipment here. I feel like Pandora, in general, is not quite as technologically advanced as my homeworld." Brigitte began stroking her chin, trying to think of any advanced technology she had personally witnessed since her arrival. "Back there, it wasn't all that special to be able to make these. I can still make and repair mine when I want to, as long as I get the necessary resources for it. Other than that, I think only my godfather and I have anything like it."

At least, as far as she had seen. There is a lot more to Pandora than meets the eyes and Brigitte had no delusions that she had seen anywhere near to everything the world had to offer. It could be home to even more advanced technology than she was aware of and perhaps it was just hidden for the time being.

Listening more to Brigitte, Lucina became to ponder more about the wonders of this technology in this realm. From all of these different worlds having people taken from there, surely there was bound to be a grand diversity and variety of technology such as Brigitte's energy shield. That is, of course, if there were that many more people taken from such an advanced realm.

"Is that so?" Lucina exclaimed, still in complete awe of the experience that this blacksmith seemed to have for her craft. "That is amazing!" If she hadn't seen such a demonstration for herself courtesy of Brigitte, it would be hard for her to be taken in this much by the woman's claims. It was so stunning! Inspiring! Awesome!

Oh, gods, she was starting to sound more and more like Owain with how long she has been delving through the thought process. Perhaps she was starting to lose track of herself... In fact, she was indeed. Lucina still hardly knew what this place was or how she could be able to help herself so that she may be able to go through the phase of living through this prison until she managed to create an escape from it.

With a faint tint of red resting on her cheeks, Lucina coughed into her fist as if to clear her throat. Rather, it was more as if she was clearing her thought process. She had to focus once again as she was hardly in any position to be able to continue detouring.

"Ah, my apologies, but..." Lucina began, her tone seemingly starting to return to its original, more 'serious' state, yet there seemed to be more sincerity in her voice. "As much as I would love to continue speaking with you about this, I would be lying to myself if I didn't ask if you could help me adapt to this new place, or at least find a place where I could stay. If it wouldn't be hampering you to do so, anyway."

There was a level of pride and bashfulness that came with having her work being praised so much, even though Brigitte knew that a large part of it was that Marth just never had seen something so technologically advanced, more so than it being incredible on its own merits. Still, Brigitte couldn't help but grin with the further compliments that got thrown her way.

The topic then shifted back to how Marth needed a place to stay, as well as some help with adapting to the new landscape. Well, Brigitte wasn't sure what she could do to help, other than bring her to the local shelter, but she was willing to try, especially for someone who had been so nice to her.

"There's a shelter here in town for people like you who just got here. It's good when you're still trying to get on your feet here. I can bring you there if you'd like." Brigitte then pointed with her thumb back, pointing at the direction they'd need to go. "If you have any more questions to ask about this place, fire away." She smiled.

A shelter? For a few moments, Lucina pondered to herself about whether she should take Brigitte up on her offer or not. She could always try to camp out in the wilderness as she was used to. The girl was used to that type of survival, and she had the means to defend herself as well. On the other hand, it wasn't as if she knew exactly what would be in store for her if she continuously camped outside. Who knew what kind of dangers lurked out there?

It would be for the best if she agreed to the plan. No matter how prepared she may be, she still knew little to nothing about the true nature of this world. "You would have my gratitude if you could," Lucina responded with a nod of her head, "I don't know how long I will stay in it, but for the time being that would be the best course of action in this unknown world."

An unknown world... It was still hard to believe that. This was a place she had never learned about in the books she had come across. Previously, all of the worlds that she arrived in were just like that. This one proved to be an exception, an outlier. Hopefully, it would all end well.

"I will ask if I think of anything more to ask you," The princess responded with a soft smile on her lips, "But thank you for your assistance. You're truly helping me." Continuing to smile, the princess began to make her way in the direction that Brigitte motion toward, following alongside the woman.
