Ever since hearing that a real life wizard and witch village had come to Pandora- and mourning the loss of the monster hotel where she and Felix had their first official date- Futaba had wanted to go. As soon as any reviews or information was available online she started to daydream about it, messaging Felix especially. She knew plenty of other magical people from school, and maybe she should have split some of the babbling between them all so he wasn't completely bombarded by her geekiness, but she couldn't help it. Besides, she knew how much he loved all things magic, and she loved him that much or more. It helped that he'd seemed excited too.

Considering how upset he'd been after that entire medical situation, and that she finally had a bit of money saved up, she finally had the means to surprise him with a trip there! It had taken awhile, true, and it was a little cold, but hopefully it would lift his spirits. Even if nothing else ever came of it, she wanted to see him smile and laugh and forget some of the sad things for a time. Whether he was just indulging her or not, she couldn't tell, but he did seem interested at least. For her, it was enough to talk to him and hold his hand, and anticipate all of the awesome and nifty magical stuff to come.

Once they had entered the town she could only stare in amazement at the lovely old buildings with their signs and window displays, and as she pulled him along to the little pub and restaurant she'd heard of she was almost vibrating with excitement. Everything here was exactly like she might have pictured it, and like the pictures people had posted online, and even if it didn't even have a good arcade that was fine! It was a date spot, a vacation type place, for holidays and changing your routine. And for that, it seemed perfect.

Walking through the snow she walked hand in hand with him, grinning widely and gesturing at the door. "Ta da~! We're here!" she told him in a cheerful tone. "Phase One of 'The Second Best Date We've Ever Had'. We're gonna go in here and drink and eat, and then go look around and maybe see a haunted house! How's that sound?" And while she doubted he'd have any objections at all, knowing him like she did, she still watched his face for signs of unhappiness or hesitation, just in case. Fortunately she had about fifteen or twenty other ideas in mind if she needed them...

As much as the healers at the hospital had taken care of the scars, they still hurt, when he moved. A bit itching, a bit burning, but, admitted, Felix knew it was the healing kind of pain, not the infected one. It was getting better, not worse. Which, was partly Futaba's work too. A great bit, actually. As stubborn as he was, it had taken her persistent half-yelling per text, for him to finally agree and get it checked out, and- well, if the expression in the doctor's eyes when she'd seen the glowly lines, had been anything to judge by, it might have been too late for him, if they had come in just a week later. And that, Futaba had prevented him from.

Despite the slight pain though, Felix could feel nothing but happiness radiate from his chest, walking through this snow-covered winter-wonderland. Snow was a new one for him. They didn't have snow in Australia. Which had made him run outside into the cold, in the middle of the night, when he'd suddenly seen snowflakes falling and landing onto the forest outside the Schola. What did he care that it must've looked pretty stupid to someone else? Felix had danced through the snow like a three-years old child, and nothing could've been better at this moment.

Okay, something could've made it better. Futaba could've been at his side.

But maybe, just maybe, he had wanted to have this silent moment for himself alone. To enjoy the first snowflakes in his life, and having nobody else with him. That night had been as calm as it had been exciting, filling him with childish awe and putting a stupid grin onto his face.
Besides. They had met up later that day anyway. And he had been introduced to snow ball fights - something he had grown to dearly love by now.

Though, he was sure, it would make even more fun now, that the pain had stopped and the blue-glowing veins were gone and done with.

Felix raised both hands - the empty one and the one with which he held Futaba's - up to his warm, black wool-beanie and fixed its position again. The snow was melting against his skin, sending tiny droplets running down his cheeks, and lips, and nose. The scarf he was wearing, was partly covered in snow by now too. Gifting her a warm, loving smile, Felix nodded. "That sounds great! Though I have to insist on another snow ball match later, if Your Highness would be so inclined," he said, bowing mockingly, but never losing that smile when he did.

In his opinion, it mattered very little what they did first and how many of the things they ticked off their list today; Felix was glad that the surgery had gone over well, and he was glad that Futaba was with him, holding his literal hand through all of this.

So, whatever she chose to do, he would follow.

The way he was covered in snow- and she was too, but she noticed it a lot less, being from somewhere that got regular winter weather like this- made her more and more glad that they'd finally reached where they were going. Even if she was used to walking around in stockings, shorts and a heavy coat, Felix came from someplace waay more south. He'd already been through a recent surgery; pneumonia seemed like the last thing he needed. But then again, he did want to snowball fight, so he must be feeling alright.

Smiling back at him she felt a little squee inside her heart at his expression that she didn't feel the need to say aloud- after all, a squee was a pretty annoying and stereotypical sound- and shrugged jokingly. "Dunno, Your Mutual Highness-Majesty," she joked back, shifting her feet like it might be the beginnings of a curtsy. Except that she'd never done such a thing in her life, so she just bowed back and smirked. "There. All polite and stuff. Now it's time to have fun and stop being stuffy, Goth King. So yes to snowball fights. At least one. Maybe more. After we warm up though!"

And with that she went to the door and pushed it open, her other hand still in his as she drew him into the Three Broomsticks. Inside was a very classically fairytale looking tavern and for a moment she gaped at it all, then grinned and glanced back at him, then started over toward one of the empty tables near the fireplace. Everything in here smelled aged, but in a good way, like it was full of history and magic. "I read about this place online. They say it has something called 'butterbeer' that is amazing," she said, pulling out a chair for him because gender norms were for squares, then sitting down herself. "Thought a magical village with witch and wizard beer might be good. Whatcha think?"

Warming up first, snowball match later - Felix could agree to that. "Aye," he said, smiling about her half-bow, and nodding, before he followed her inside. The tavern really looked a lot like he'd imagined it when reading Harry Potter a few years ago. Because, yes, he, the goth witch, had read Harry Potter too. And he'd liked it. Hell, he'd shared a room with one of the wizards from Harry Potter for a while, before Scorps had- vanished. It.. was still strange to live alone in his dormroom now.

Yes, I know, he wanted to say when she mentioned the butterbeer, I've read that too. Instead though, and most definitely to not immediately admit to having read those books and being very excited to actually be here, Felix raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Is that with alcohol? Because I think I have to pass on that one, then. You know. Surgery and all," he explained, after thanking her for pulling out that chair so he could sit down.

"Did you read Harry Potter, actually?" Felix asked casually then, tilting his head with interest.

Was it with alcohol? The thought hadn't really occurred to her, as every bar she'd been in wouldn't offer it to someone her age, and if you wanted to drink you had to get away with it at home or someone else's house. Did wizard villages have a legal drinking age? Did anywhere? It was a weird question to consider, and as she sat down she wore a thoughtful expression, tinged with a hint of guilt. How could she have made such an oversight? "Doesn't hurt to ask? Maybe they have both?" she ventured hopefully, giving him a small smile. "Bet things like pie don't have alcohol though. So there's that.."

Refusing to let this date take a downward turn in mood she forged onward and gave him a confused look at the question. Hairy Potter? What? "No, never heard of it. Is it a monster book? Or a myth, like the sasquatch?" she asked him curiously, not at all bothered by the fact she'd never heard of this before in her life. Or had she? If so, it had been very, very minor, so much so that her mind had packed it away into some far corner, away from where her thoughts usually ventured. "Want to hear about it though, if you want to tell the story."
