Huge paws smoothed along his upper back as Velouria accepted the comfort, relieved the most that Magiano hardly was fazed at her powers. She definitely needed that acknowledgement, that lack of fear, to demonstrate that not every glimpse of her was a mortified one. His previous flight was forgiven as she sniffled and struggled to breathe steadier. "O-Okay..." was all she could muster.

Her ears lifted as she received a jab on the collar from the youth. A little laugh managed to come through her nostrils. "And you don't tell anybody my daddy named me after a type of fabric, and it's a deal." Papa was so uncreative; adding -ia didn't always quite make a good name for a daughter. If there was another similar thread the wolfgirl and the thief shared, it was how uniquely they were called.

She sat back on her mitts and released him, just for the glimmering light to flash and revert her back to normal, only a few fluttering sparkles snowing down into her lap, before each twinkle disappeared. Velouria scrubbed her face, the flat of the magic stone polishing a cheek, and she stopped with a sigh. "So, have enough to make a story out of me or what?" came the impassive question.

His upper back wasn't the most comfortable place to be touched, thanks to all that scar tissue – but Velouria was gentle, so he let her be. There'd been enough old stories for now. Most important there was no fear with him at any given moment, only laughter and banter and always a happy word. Cheering others up was part of his everyday life. If anything he was amazed of her powers, of what he couldn't have.
“Ah, there's nothing wrong with Velouria!” he argued. At least not with him, where it sounded like a song and with his own way of making nicknames by adding some vocals it was all but an uncommon one. “But if you insist...” The smile on his lips told enough about how the deal was already set. Sharing stories could start friendships like that – though it was still odd for him to be in such enclosed lands, where people would find him again and again as opposed to short meetings once in a lifetime.
Just like when she'd turned into a beast he didn't look away at the transformation, awe glimmering in his eyes. “I always have a story. But it's a better one now” Maybe she wouldn't recognize it after he spun his tale around, no one would know her from it. There'd only be a hint of it, a familiar feeling, a magic of its own. One that had always been with him and never got recognized as the power it was. In his heart there was a song she might like – but Magiano didn't sing, for no one, only hummed the tunes, fingers dancing impatient on his knees, wishing for an instrument to express what words couldn't.

Only the faintest of smiles appeared on the corners of her lips, turning away as she repositioned herself to get to a stand. "Well, that's a relief," she responded. The wolfskin had the faith her tale would be spun succinctly and sweetly enough that even if she came across the lyrics someday, there wouldn't have to be a tracking-down of the boy's scent. Even if he never showed his face around these parts again, the winds had a way of drifting everybody back into contact, she felt.

Absentmindedly she gave the Beaststone a hug to the center of her torso, one wrist over the other, back in her arms like a childhood teddy bear. Velouria also cast her eyes down at her condition, banged up slightly, dirtied and weary. Maybe she shouldn't tarry any longer and hurry back to the briefcase on the hay bale. "I should go dip my head back in a bath again..." she said, as a way to spur her legs into motion towards the barn.

There was a slight pause as she flicked her head back towards him, a grey lock of hair pushed out of the way. "Will you come here again? Maybe we'll meet up some other time. If not, well... Good luck. Hopefully I'll remember to get you a gift or something." Wasn't like there was much better of a way to truly show he was forgiven than with a real momento to replace the item he took off with. She kept that gem of hers tightly clutched among her digits as she strode off and left Magiano behind.

Unlike Velouria he had no desire to wash up. But then again he had barely worked up a sweat in the hunt, hadn't tripped and fallen and whatever dirt he got on himself was barely more than his usual road dust. And he much preferred full baths to some brushing down with a sponge. Slightly shaking his head he contemplated telling her about the streams and rivers he went too – deciding against, since it'd be another adventure. Probably she also wouldn't be up to leave her possessions out of sight right now.
Tilting his head the boy wondered over her question. Would he come here again? Hadn't been usual before arriving in this world, yet now he was bound by the limits of the world, couldn't run away forever. “I think so. This is a nice stay. It's getting so cold in winter!” Snow was something that made sleeping outside impossible. But the gift he waved off. “Never got one. Bring a story instead!” For a thief he was weirdly uncaring about keeping all those little things, laughing instead to himself, the clear sound trickling out as he made his own way.
