Best thing about being here? She had her best friends. Including Cass, who had given her the Batgirl suit before she retired. It hadn't taken long before she fell into some sort of similar routine that she'd followed at home and this time was a movie marathon and tag session that she had desperately missed. It had felt like forever since she last did something with Cass and this seemed like a perfect idea to spend quality time.

Steph zipped around Pandora town via the rooftops, using whatever tool she needed to cross the larger gaps without taking a fall. A good game of tag would get rid of any pent up energy before they could settle down for movies(in which Steph managed to find a few good films here though this world really was sorely lacking in the good movie department).

Finding Cass was easy enough though that was mainly because of where it was decided to meet up. So when she landed on the rooftop, her best friend was right there and Steph didn't even bother to stop herself as she ran over, attempting to throw her arms around her in a big hug.

    "Cass!" Steph beamed brightly.

Cassandra looked down at the lights of Pandora City from atop a building. They flashed, and flickered, and changed, and she couldn’t help but reflect. Like Bludhaven and Hong Kong, Pandora Town had been an effort to adjust to. She was more comfortable in Gotham, of course, but it had been feeling like a place she could stand to live in for the foreseeable future, even if the lights were fairly dull. Ever since Tim and Steph had been brought here, though, the city seemed… brighter, somehow. Maybe it was because now she felt less alone. Like two lights of her life had come back to her.

A smile broke across her face. Stephanie was here, not even bothering to hide her presence as she ran in for a hug. Turning around, Cassandra allowed it to happen, even hugging her best friend back and laughing. “Hey, Steph. You’ve gotta be stealthier than that. I heard you coming from a mile away,” her tone was playful, and happier than it had been in a long time. (As embarrassing as it was to admit, she’d nearly cried when she saw Stephanie for the first time).

“I like what you did with the costume. It looks good on you,”
she said for not the first time since Steph had been in Pandora. However, repetition didn’t make it any less true; she’d been delighted and proud to see that her friend, to whom she had given the costume under the guise of being sick of crime fighting after Bruce’s “death” (a lie he and she had made up to get her blonde friend to mature and come into her own as a crimefighter), had become more confident in herself and seemed to be comfortable in her role as Batgirl. It had taken some explaining as to why she was back in total crimefighting mode, but Cass hoped her friend bought the excuse she’d given.

But now wasn’t the time for that, now was the time for fun. Like the kind they’d had when they were Batgirl and Spoiler and Batman was still the biggest hardass (Barbara had liked to use that word about him) in their lives.

He still kind of was, of course, but that was beside the point. “And you’ve improved, too. Maybe now you’ll win more than five times a month.” Cassandra’s tone remained playful, and the smile a shade of impish rarely seen on her face. Of course she was exaggerating; Stephanie won more than that… but not much more.

To be entirely fair, Steph hadn't wanted to be stealthy. She'd abandoned stealth the moment she had seen Cass in favor of getting there quickly so she could hug her tightly. Cass had given her the Batgirl suit which she wore before Barbara made her a new one that was more fitting for her role and type of style. Steph held her as tightly as she was able to, just letting it all sink in once more. Nothing mattered anymore, not when Cass was right here. "It would have ruined my tackle hug!"

There was nothing that could stop her from smiling, from being happy. This was a day and time to just spend with Cass and enjoy what Pandora had to offer.

"Why thank you. Though I can't take all the credit." Steph laughed softly, her blue eyes seemingly glowing with happiness. She hadn't known the real reasons behind why she was given the suit to begin with, thinking that most of the Batfam didn't think she'd be suited to being a hero. That had hurt more than anything. Like she wasn't good enough. At least that wasn't something on her mind. No, it was all about fun.

With the words being spoken, Steph mock pouted. "Awe come on. I win at least six times a month!" Steph joked back, clearly not at all too upset by the words. "In saying that, I have improved. It's taken a long time coming but better late than never." It had taken time, training and hard work to get where she was and though she was still the same Steph everyone knew, she was also a little more mature when it came down to it.

“Good point,” she said with a grin, taking solace in the familiar hug of her enthusiastic friend. “You do give good tackle hugs.” In fact, hugs were probably her fourth best skill, behind waffle-making, being a constant ray of sunshine, and being the best friend a girl could ask for. It was certainly nice to have her back, and Cassandra couldn’t help but let out another laugh as Stephanie squeezed her, as though she were a life raft in the middle of the ocean. Well, at least Batgirl gotten stronger over the past year or two!

At first, she was a bit confused at the statement; having never been back to Gotham since her departure to Hong Kong, she wouldn’t have known how Stephanie obtained her new costume. Her initial assumption had been that Stephanie had simply created one all on her own, like she had the Spoiler costume -it would certainly explain all the purple. Stephanie’s admission, however, threw doubt into Cass’ thinking. If she didn’t do the costume herself, who had?

Oh. Of course. It was Barbara. Who else would go out of their way to make an entirely new costume; Cassandra’s smile widened; she could only hope Oracle was as kind and supportive to Stephanie as she had to Cass.

You know, minus the occasional hurt feelings.

“I can see how much you’ve improved just by looking,” she replied. Indeed, the Stephanie Brown apparently doing her very best to squeeze the air out of her lungs –Stephanie Brown: The Batgirl—was noticeably more skilled than when Cassandra had seen her last, as Stephanie Brown: The Spoiler. “But don’t think that means you’ll win.” With lightning speed Cass broke the girl’s hold on her, before striking her in the stomach with an open palm (with no more force then a light slap, of course).

    “You’re it.”
Turning on her heel, Cassandra darted to the edge closest to the adjacent building and launched herself over the gap connecting the two. She cleared it easily and kept running, only sparing the quickest look back to Steph.

To say she missed her best friend was an understatement. She'd missed Cass so much, especially after everything that happened and last seeing her when she gave up the cowl. At least this place was good for one thing and that was bringing them back together without all the complications that they'd had in Gotham. What mattered most was they were together and that was all she could ask for.

And her encouragement and words only made her beam. She'd had trials and tribulations like the rest of the Batfam and she'd tried over and over again to prove she was worthy and a right fit. It had been grueling, with long hours of training, research, keeping her identities secret. She wasn't just Batgirl but she'd been a student too.

There were sudden movements, quick as Cass hit her lightly with an open palm and Steph arched an eye with a grin on her features. "We'll see about that!" Watching her take off, Steph followed without missing a beat, the gap between the rooftops mere child's play as she got enough speed to leap over without failing and crashing into the streets below. She could have easily used her grappling hook to get over the gap but that wouldn't show she'd gotten better.

Ahead was a large vent with a small gap beneath that Steph was able to go under, using the momentum from the sprint to slide under and then roll to her feet, her hand outstretched to tap Cass upon her shoulder.

A smile spread across Cassandra's face as Stephanie cleared the gap without the use of a grapple; back when they played this as Batgirl and Spoiler her friend managed to clear a gap of that size only barely, if at all, and now the blonde was not only capable of jumping across the gap but doing it with ease. It almost brought a tear to her eye.

Not really, but you get the idea.

Ahead of the was a large vent, short enough to climb up and over but having an opening at the base just large enough for person of about their width to dive through it. Cassandra, ever the show off, chose to take the high path. She climbed up and over it with only slightly more effort that it would take her to jump over a puddle. She landed with the anticipation that Stephanie would go around the vent, giving her time to evade or hide. Imagine her surprise when Batgirl didn't go left or right, but under and through the small gap.

She barely had enough time to react before her friend was upon her, hand coming tantalizingly close to tapping her shoulder. However, Black Bat had no intention of making the game that easy.

Twisting her body enough that she was just out of Stephanie's reach, Cassandra turned almost on a dime, banking hard to the right and dashing toward another building that, thankfully, wasn't too tall or too far away that she couldn't make the jump.

This was what they both needed. To be able to blow off steam, show off their skills and just spend time together. Steph hadn't known just how much she had been craving this until that moment, her hand almost touching Cass' shoulder even as they ran along the rooftops.

Of course it was never that easy now was it. Cass twisted away, evading the reaching fingertips that belonged to Steph who pulled her arm back next to her as she turned to follow, her blue gaze checking out her surroundings even as she moved. No words were spoken as she did so, avoiding any lingering bits of broken steel that sat abandoned on the rooftop.

At the edge, she leaped before she could fall right off, landing on the opposite side and her head snapping up to make sure she kept Cass in her sights. She would get her, that was a silent promise even as she smiled, clearly enjoying this.

Stephanie didn’t seem to want to give her any room to breathe -or, to be more specific, any room to hide. Even after hopping the building Cass couldn’t find enough time to conceal herself behind something before the blonde was after her. Perhaps the distraction something like a smoke bomb provided would give her enough breathing room to find cover, but such tricks were implicitly banned, as they went against the spirit of the game. But the fact that the thought even entered the martial artist’s head, no matter how briefly, spoke to how determined Stephanie seemed and how likely the prospect of being tagged back was.

Regardless, Stephanie would have to work for it.

Up ahead was an apartment building, only two stories taller than any other building that they’d landed on. Like most apartments back in Gotham, a fire escape stairway scaled up its side and towards the roof. Well, let’s see how she handled this, then. Cassandra leapt from the rooftop to the cage-like exterior of the fire escape and began to make her way up it with grace that would a swan feel insecure, flipping up the exceptional hand and footholds that the metal fences made before disappearing onto the roof. Perhaps if she had enough time she’d be able to disappear behind a vent or something, but, secretly, she was hoping Steph wouldn’t allow her that luxury.

Not only was she determined to get her, but there was also determination in not giving up no matter how this went or how long it continued on for. This would prove beyond a doubt that she had improved and that it wasn't a fluke. So her eagle eyes were on Cass, almost losing her for a few moments.

As she followed swiftly, fingers curling around the wire fence, Steph hoisted herself up and over. "I'm not that easy to lose these days." Steph smirked, her eyes glittering.

Cassandra smiled. Some thought along the lines of, but a bit simpler than,'Well, I'll be damned' crossed her mind. Very impressive, Stephanie. But "impressive" only got you so far. "Good," she called back over her shoulder, hopping up to plant her foot against a nearby pipe. An eternity passed within a second. She seemed to hover in place while her legs bent like coiled springs, building power as Stephanie approached. Then, in an explosion of motion, she launched herself in a smooth arc back in the direction she had come from, over Stephanie.

Grin plastered on her face, Cass landed lightly on her feet. "I'd hate for it to be that easy." And with that taunt, she pivoted and took off again, this time to the left. As she reached the edge she dove off gracefully. There was just enough time for her to make a full rotation in the air so that, were her friend fast enough, the smirk on her face would be visible before she had fully turned around. Only the rustle of her cape was audible as she landed.
