    "Hey, Freddie...how goes?"

The atmosphere in the Hangar had become, in light of certain people events...just a little bit hazy. Not 'hazy' as in, 'I have no idea how to deal with you any more', but rather, 'I'm not sure what to do with myself any more'. Meaning, in all honesty, that Gerold felt himself to be at a slight loss when it came to Wolf business.

    "Busy day today...?"

Their group may have scattered a little since that meeting with Lensherr, or else his own nerves had made him distance himself from Julie and the rest instead. It was a bit hard to discern lately, considering that he had been drunk half the time. Still. He had brought himself back there at last, but not before putting down the bottle and taking up a few Chocobos to greener pastures first.

Now, with a few practiced greetings in mind and a few knocks upon the door, he just hoped that Manfred would be there to hear them...

((ooc: The Oktoberfest allusions are coming...Just thought I'd build up the emotions first ;) ))

Lehnsherr had thrown a wrench into the works of the Wolves. While some did remain: Manfred and Pietro in particular, and they did still run missions against raiders and the like. Especially now that Manfred had powers he could take on a lot more on his own. Two things occurred that seemed par for the course.

The first was that bandits were smarter. The slave trade continued, but they made sure to keep out of Wolf territory. Seratorra had become a paradise, an oasis on the desert roughs, mostly because Manfred was there. Which means the Wolves would have to enter Lethe, or beyond, and no one was willing to do that quite yet.

And of course there was the fact that Lehnsherr had divided them. Manfred hadn’t even heard from Logan after that mess. The Canadian was absolutely furious that they were not instantly taking down the metal-bending mutant.

It didn’t even matter now: Lehnsherr had disappeared. But the Wolves remained set in their own course. Manfred tried not to be too concerned about it: he was sure if he called anyone, even Logan, they’d come to his aide.

He was pleasantly surprised to get Gerold Hirschberg’s texts, in any case. The other fled to the Halls of Horizon relatively quickly after the ordeal. Lehnsherr’s presence had caused a lot of things, and none of them good, but it revealed that Julie had a lot less control over her murderous rampages than one previously thought. It seemed to rub Hirschberg the wrong way, and Manfred let him take some space.

Manfred himself was counting inventory of some supplies that were going out towards the Vales when Mortiz began to bark at the door. Sure sign someone was there, Hirschberg more than likely. He put down the notepad and pen on a nearby desk, before opening the door with a wide smile:

”Hirschberg!” Manfred didn’t hesitate to hold out his hand and pull Gerold into a quick brotherly embrace. ”Good to see you, mien friend!” He declared with a wide smile, ”Come on in!”

Manfred didn’t hold it against Gerold that he hadn’t been around. Sometimes even the best kept teams needed some down time.

Even after the few months that had passed, Gerold would still feel relief at the sight of his friend standing there. Not only was he still alive, he had also remained totally unchanged on the outside as freakin' usual. Whatever had been forced into his bloodstream didn't matter so much any more, because it was more than clear as of recent times that it hadn't caused anything supernatural. So...perhaps that was that, at long last.

    ...Thanks, Baron. Sorry I'm late.

He might still feel a little silly that he had once feared crazy things like tentacles or extra limbs, but those thoughts would fade soon enough. He was still welcomed into the Hangar like he'd never left in the first place, and that was more than fine.

In his humble opinion, he wouldn't have all that many issues with the hugging thing, either. The battlefield experience could only offer a guy so much, of course...and warm emotional support, if he remembered correctly, hadn't really been on the list.

"The hangar still looks great, though. Glad the sandstorms didn't knock it down!"

He could use a lot more of that lately, all right. In fact, maybe he could start focusing on the happy stuff a lot more than the bad, beginning with...happy dog faces, for example.

And don't worry, Moritz,” he added, removing a shiny toy ball from one of his sleeves. “Didn't forget you, either...wanna play?
