The door to Misty Hollow’s medical center was pushed open by the booted foot of an old man just before he slipped inside, a young girl carefully supported in his arms. The girl, Eleven, wore a pained grimace with blood drying just beneath her nose, but it was her foot that she was being wary of, carefully keeping it clear of the doorway and any furniture they passed before the old man found a chair to set her down in. The old man then knelt in front of her, and in a kind voice said, “You’ll be alright now, miss. Someone here will help you.”

Eleven merely nodded and said nothing as the old man stood back up and walked out the way he came in. He was nice and she knew she should have thanked him, but she was troubled by the days’ events and knew she was going to have to deal with the consequences of it soon enough. Hopper was going to be upset with her; she knew full well that she shouldn’t have been out, especially not so close to the forest. She had never intended on venturing any further than the edge, but that excuse fell flat considering all that had happened. She just didn’t expect the trees to cause that much trouble so close to town…and after all the time she’d spent honing her powers, she’d hoped that she could handle just about anything that came her way. Well, not so much.

Her best hope now was to get fixed up enough that she could just go home, without Hopper being any the wiser as to what had happened. It didn’t seem so far-fetched an idea – the old man who helped get her to the clinic had told her that there were healers here and that the healers were even better than doctors. At the very least, that indicated to her that they might be faster at mending people’s injuries. So, when she heard someone coming out to her greet her, her expression was cautiously hopeful. Maybe this wouldn’t be as bad as she thought.
