Things were going better than expected. Really Jo hadn't planned on things to go this smooth. The blonde had fully expected a little bit of bad blood to linger around. The hunter really wouldn't have blamed Bellamy for it. She would have thought that she deserved a chunk of it at least. Instead they were headed out of her bar to her place and it felt good. It felt really damn good.

"I'm starting to settle in. I even have a coffee table." Which probably wasn't the coolest thing in the world to talk about but Jo liked it. She liked the fact that she had settled in quickly. So the fact that she had a tv, a coffee table, and a couch was something the blonde was rather proud of. She went from having nothing Pandora at all to having an entirely life. It was nice.

Jo managed to lead the way. It really wasn't more than ten minutes away but that was likely because Cascade wasn't exactly Pandora Town. It was relatively easy to find it instead of weaving through half of a small city. She walked up to the front door and unlocked it, jingling her keys slightly as she did so.

From there she walked in, turning on the lights in a living room that was small and had mismatched furniture, but it was hers. She slipped out of her jacket, chucked it on a chair, and started to pull her boots off. "Make yourself at home." Because why the hell should he act any other way?

It didn't take long to get there at all, which was one of the nice things about Cascade Bay. Honestly, it was the nice thing about most of the small towns. He hadn't exactly enjoyed weaving through Pandora Town's streets back when he'd been living there. It'd been easier with Providence because they'd had a lot of what they needed right there, but ...

Providence wasn't a place he really thought about anymore. That had been another life, another Bellamy.

The place was small, but small wasn't bad, and there was a smile on his face as his eyes peered around. Peeling off his jacket distractedly, he glanced over to Jo. "This is nice. This is, like ... this is a real home, Jo, this is nice." He paused, draping his jacket over the back of the same chair she'd dropped hers in before taking a seat on the couch. "Okay, but do you like it?"

He liked it. He liked the idea of her living here, he liked the idea of her having a place of her own, a bar of her own. "Beats essentially living on the road, huh?"

It was nice. It was very nice. It was something that Jo hadn't had in a very long time. Or at least it felt like a really long time. She just wasn't sure where any of this was going to go but she had a place now. She had an actually place that was hers and only hers. Somewhere safe, because she really had warded it to hell and back against any and all unsavory sorts. At least from what she had learned being in Pandora.

Jo slowly grinned at Bellamy. "It is, isn't it?" It was all too easy for her to brag about it. She had never actually had a place all to her own. Instead everything had been on the road or her mother's. But that was alright. Jo didn't need to somehow validate her life against her mother's. She may have opened a bar that was a homage to her mother's, but it was still Jo's.

"It's..." She faltered for a second while she tried to think of what her feelings were. It did beat living on the road though and it beat working for the caravan by a great amount. "It's better than that." Jo leaned down to where Bellamy was seated and wrapped her arms around his neck. Leaning down to press another kiss to his lips before pulling back. "I've even got snacks. And beer. Want some?" This was what normal couples did right? Flirt, talk, and generally spend time together. At least that's what Jo thought normal couples did.

Her real question was: were they a couple? Was this going to be a thing? Because she wanted it to be a thing. Jo just had to figure out exactly how to ask Bellamy that. Before he left though. Before they both woke up in the morning, because she had no doubt that was exactly where everything was leading.

As she leaned down to press her lips against his, Bellamy smiled into that kiss. He liked the way she kissed. The way she talked, the way she walked. Well, when it wasn't decisively away from him. That hadn't felt good, but they were past that, or at least, it was easy to assume they were. He didn't really know what came next, though. It had been a long time since he'd had a girlfriend, and there had only ever been one. It'd been a long time ago now, and Bellamy couldn't remember how that had happened. It just happened. One day, they weren't anything, and the next, they were a couple.

God, he didn't know how relationships worked.

"Who could ever say no to snacks and beer?" he shot back, grinning up at her. And then he sat back, one arm casually resting over the back of the couch as he took in his surroundings once more. "So, what percentage of the time do I get to be here? I mean, it's no Morhall, but I think I could tear myself away. It's just really tough to beat gloomy, barely lit caves and claustrophobia, you know?"

He didn't hate Morhall. It had a special place in his heart for certain reasons, but it had never been the kind of place he could call home. The Saviors were there, so he was there.

She took a bit of a breath as Bellamy started to ask about how often he was allowed over. Her instant reaction was anytime but she also wasn't sure that she'd be okay with that. It felt like she wanted to cling onto him and... turn this into something she didn't want. Jo didn't want to depend on someone to that degree. To fling all her fears and be protected by him. It was an odd emotion to her because Jo normally was fine all by herself.

Pandora had made her bitter. It had made her brittle too. After everything that had happened with the Governor and how terrified Jo had been... she wasn't fully healed by that. Her instant reaction was to depend on Bellamy but that wouldn't be healthy. Not for her. Not for him. Jo needed to set some boundaries, something, so she could heal from that before she dove head deep into whatever this was going to be.

"Frequently." Instead of all the time it was going to be often. That way they would both have space. And that way he didn't have to feel too pressured to always be over. Breathing room is what she wanted to call it. It would be good for the both of them. Healthy was what she had to keep her eye on.

"Seriously though. You're welcome to come over when you'd like to." Bellamy was something special to her. She didn't want him to think any other way about what her feelings might have been. The blonde knew that this was just the starting steps and that she had never been in a serious relationship before. Jo had less experience than Bellamy did. "So what do you want? Chips or cheetos?" Jo had never said they were good snacks, had she?

Whatever the answer was going to be, it would be okay because it wouldn’t be a never. Otherwise he wouldn’t have been here at all. Otherwise she wouldn’t have even asked her to come by her bar and they wouldn’t have shared a moment of intimacy there that they both needed so badly. And as much as he wanted more than that, as much as he wanted to jump right into something more sure for both of them, those kinds of things took time. Or he thought they did. What did he really know about relationships??

Still, the answer was ‘frequently’, and the smile on Bellamy’s face as he nodded along said that he definitely approved of that. He could understand why it may not have been anything more than that. He’d given her space, and now it felt like she needed something else, but nobody needed to be smothered. He wanted to be there for her, but he just as well wanted to respect her privacy, and he was gonna do that. He was gonna do that and he was gonna be a part of her life at the same time.

“The hell is a cheeto?” he suddenly asked, his brow furrowing. Whatever it was, he’d definitely heard the name before in Pandora, but it was like it sank in just that moment the fact that he’d never actually seen a bag before or had any clue what anyone was talking about.

This was still going better than she expected. They were sort of speaking about what they needed to without ever saying anything set in stone. No girlfriend. No boyfriend. And that was alright with Jo. She didn't have to actually have any of those titles thrown about right now. She had just needed to know that what they had felt before was still around. That he didn't resent her. That they both wanted whatever this was. They were good in her books.

She expected everyone to know what a cheeto was. It was sort of iconic in her world and she had met plenty of people who knew exactly what she was talking about. Of course Bellamy didn't come from her world. Jo had to remind herself that the dark haired man came from a world that was wildly different from her own and if he didn't know what a cheeto was, Jo was more than happy to show him.

"I grew up on this stuff." She laughed lightly and moved to go into the kitchen. Pulling out two cold beers and a bag of cheetos before headed back. From there it was all too easy for Jo to toss Bellamy his drink, slap her own down on the coffee table in front of him, and then tear open that bag of cheesy, orange goodness.

The blonde pulled one out and popped it in her mouth, chewing normally so that it still sounded loud enough in her ears. She then held the bag out to him, shaking it a little so he knew to take some. It was that or she was going to dump the entire bag over his head. Just for fun.

Sometimes he felt a little stupid. Most people in Pandora seemed to be from a point a lot earlier in his history. When there had still been cities and life on Earth. Actual civilization. Bellamy was from a place so far beyond that, it wasn't exactly uncommon for him to come across things he didn't recognize or understand. He couldn't even begin to think of what a cheeto might be, though by the time she'd disappeared into the kitchen the gears were turning and he had a few ideas.

Of course, not a single one of those ideas matched the cheesy orange puff he watched her pull out of that bag when she came back. Bellamy furrowed his brow and scrunched up his face a little bit, but there was a smirk at the corner of his lips as he reached out to stick his hand in the bag, pulling out a couple and popping them into his mouth one at a time.

Yup. There were cheesy, orangey goodness. "They're about as classy as I expected, with a name like cheetos," he said, grinning up at her. There was definitely a tiny orange piece of cheeto stuck between his teeth, god dammit. "Wow, we were seriously missing out up on the ark."

She laughed slightly before offering him the bag all together. If he had never had one before then he had never eaten an entire bag before. That was a little bit of guilty regret swirling around a stomach ache and orange dusted fingers that every one went through at one point in their life. "There is all sorts of junk food goodness I could introduce you to if you'd like." She had sort of done the same thing with Octavia. Burritos. Tequila shots. Things Octavia's older brother really didn't need to know about.

"I can tempt you with a new treat every time you come over. Except maybe we'll both gain a bunch of weight then." It was odd to just talk with Bellamy. Talk. Flirt. Be normal. She was pretty certain that neither of them had ever had a normal life in Pandora. Both of them had been too wrapped up in all the other shit that had been going on to just be normal the way they were now.

And of course there was something else on her mind. She flopped down on the couch and grabbed her own beer off the table. Sitting back and relaxing. "So are you staying the night then?" Because Jo had missed that too. She needed a little bit of that touch if he was interested in the same thing.

Not even hesitating to take the bag from her, it ended up in his lap as he picked out a few more and popped them into his mouth. These were gonna be a problem. The good kind, for him, at least. Jo might have to buy a new bag sooner than she'd intended, but then again, she probably knew exactly how addicting these things were turning out to be.

As she flopped down on the couch beside him, Bellamy couldn't seem to help the way his arm dropped around her shoulders. It had already been up there, resting over the top of the couch and she'd probably walked right into it. His gut told him she was okay with that. After all, was her question really a question?

"Yeah. Yeah, I think I might be," Bellamy said, side-glancing her with a sly smile and leaning in to give the cheek closest to him a quick peck before popping another cheeto into his mouth, that sly smile shifting to a grin as he leaned again. "You okay with that? It's a long way back to Morhall." He had a feeling she was okay with that. She was sitting back, she was relaxed, she was the one who'd invited him here.

They were on the same page. Even if they weren't vocalizing what they were feeling and where they wanted this to go, they were on the same page.

He was already thinking of all his excuses to stay. She liked that. She liked that a lot. "Of course." It was quite a ways to Morhall if you weren't going to take the portal. And that's what Jo was banking on, considering how long it had taken Bellamy to show up. She wasn't about to make him go all the way back in the middle of the night. Did the bus even run at that time? She couldn't be sure. She had always used the portals.

Of course he could be talking about sleeping on the couch. She felt like he wasn't but there was enough to suggest he was thinking the same thing that she was. His arm was wrapped around her shoulders and he seemed pretty comfortable with that bag of cheetos. She watched him carefully for a few moments with her hazel eyes following his movements as he plucked a few more out of the bag.

"So since you're the one who's had the long day, what do you want to do? Tv? Snack?" She was fishing alright. Trying not to pressure him while trying to figure out if he'd be alright with her making a move. Currently he was doing just fine with those cheetos. Minding his own business and enjoying it too. She had some other snacks he might not have known about lurking in her kitchen but it was all a matter of what Freckles wanted. Because whatever he wanted, he could get.

Almost at least. If he asked her to kill Lucifer or something she was going to be unable to keep that part of her mental promise. And she would kick him out for that but it was very unlikely that Bellamy was secretly a Winchester.

"Are those the only options?" he suddenly asked, his gaze fixed on the tv for a moment, but he didn't exactly look in vested in it either. His eyes were on the tv, but he wasn't really looking at it. Hell, if anything, he was staring at their reflection. Two regular people relaxing on a couch, sitting closer than either of them had probably really thought about because it felt natural. Because they felt natural together even if it was taking a bit to really get back to that point.

Finally, he looked back to her, watching her a second. His dark eyes hesitated a second and then flicked down to her lips. Then they were back to her eyes again, watching for any tell-tale sign, any kind of silent permission.

But then he got impatient because they'd both been dodging why they were really here. The questions on the tips of their tongues that neither of them wanted to ask. And, hell, if neither of them used the world girlfriend or boyfriend or relationship or dating or whatever it was people said, then that was okay. As long as they understood each other.

Bellamy thought that, even with all this silence and even with all this dodging, they understood each other, which was exactly the reason he distractedly set the bag of cheetos aside and shifted on the couch to lean closer to her. His arm slipped out from behind her, one hand pressing into the back of the couch while the other reached across her to hang onto its sturdy arm. There wasn't any question in his movement then, no hesitation, nothing, as he kissed her hard on the lips.

His only options. Bellamy damn well knew those were not his only options. She just didn't want to sound like some sort of love struck fool by telling him she was open to whatever. Jo still wasn't sure if this was "love" or whatever the hell came before that, but she was good with what it was all the same. It was them. And that was all she needed. All she wanted. But she wanted him too right now because she hadn't gotten laid since that night with him. Single for months without a damn thing happening because all she could think about was him.

Which was her own fault and she knew it. She had a feeling that if she had ever texted Bellamy for a booty call during all those months the man would have shown up with no questions asked at her door. Whatever door that might have been. Where ever the hell she might have been at the time. Awkward for her caravan probably but she felt like there might have been some truth to the matter.

And she was grinning by the time that he was leaning into her. Leaning into that kiss. Lifting herself almost completely off the couch in order to kiss him back just as hard. Because she wanted all of this too.

Now that Bellamy had opened that door Jo was more than willing to run straight through it. She reached up to him to grab onto his shirt, shifting so that she was basically halfway in his lap. Over eager probably like some teenager kissing for the first time but she couldn't quite help herself. This was okay now. This was all okay now. It didn't scare her and it didn't make her rage against life. She just wanted to actually enjoy her time with Bellamy guilt free. She wanted to wake up next to him and make breakfast together. Or go get some, because she still wasn't a good cook. Whatever it may have been she just wanted him.

Jo pulled back from the kiss and smiled, one hand lifting to lightly trace across the freckles she liked to tease him about. "You sure Morhall's too far away? Can't be that bad of a ride, right?" Teasing, if only to make sure he understood that all was alright. She wasn't going to kick him out in the morning.
