    SKILLS & ABILITIES

Jo Harvelle is a hunter, a human who helps hunt down and kill supernatural creatures, in her home world. She was raised by hunters and this means she has a certain skill set. First is her hunting knowledge. The tips and tricks of the trade she's known since she was a small girl. How to kill vampires, werewolves, ghosts, and the like. She's pretty buffed up on lore on the major kinds of supernatural creatures in her home world and she's able to use that knowledge to her advantage when dealing with similar creatures.

On top of that, Jo was taught a number of things about being a hunter that translate to physical skills. Jo's a dead shot, something her mother taught her growing up. She can throw knives with the best of them. She can keep going when she's in pain. She does what she needs to in order to get the job done. She's athletic (for her size) and able to keep up with most other hunters out there.

    WEAKNESSES

Jo Harvelle is a human. She's fragile. She can be killed. She's also a head strong, jump first kind of personality. Someone who can be tricked because she almost always runs head first into situations. Despite all her skill and athletic ability, she's still a slender, short young woman. She's not exactly the strongest or the fast person in the world, she's got short legs and can't run for forever. Frankly, Jo's a pretty fragile little human.

    PERSONALITY

Jo's a strong willed, head strong young man. She's a shoot first and ask questions later sort of person. Someone who wants to trust others, but constantly tells herself that she can't. She's someone who hates it when others talk for her and has this bad habit of doing the opposite of what someone might want her to do, just because she doesn't want to be agreeable with others.

Frankly, Jo's got a lot of problems. She has issues when it comes to trusting others, which is a side affect of the hunting life. She's trying to take on the world all on her own and protect those she loves. She'd die for the greater good and die for her loved ones. She's someone who lives hard and passionately, while being generally unapologetic for her choices in life.

On the other side, she's someone who can laugh freely and loudly. She takes time to enjoy the small things when she has a chance and honestly enjoys the small, quiet moments that life can throw her. The unexpected things that are... quietly, simply pleasing. When you do gain her trust, she's an amazing friend to have. Die hard loyal, good in a fight, and always willing to jump feet first into your problems to help you out, no matter what the cost.

    APPEARANCE

Standing at 5'3" with a slender build, Jo is a very pretty young woman who is often underestimated by everyone around her for it. She has long blonde hair, brown eyes, and pale skin. She's often dressed in jeans and simple shirts, with good boots, except when she needs to dress up to finish a case... then she'll wear whatever she needs to in order to get the job done.

    HISTORY

    • Joanna Beth Harvelle was born 24 years ago to William and Ellen Harvelle. She was there only child and her father was a hunter since before she was born. Her mother ran a bar and despite the things that went bump in the night, life was pretty normal for Jo growing up. At least until she was seven, when her father was killed on a hunt with John Winchester.
    • After that, it was just Jo and Ellen. The bar that her mother owned was used as a hunter's way point, a place for hunters to stop and get information, along with finding help for their own cases. Ellen provided general information about things to hunters and occasionally helped them out on hunts. Jo spent the next several years of her life learning from these situations and wound up being raised like a hunter, but never allowed out on hunts by her mother.
    • Three years back, the Winchester brothers rolled through the bar looking for some information. Jo established a relationship with the two without knowing the fact that their dad sort of got her dad killed on that hunt all those years ago. Despite some tense feelings, they parted friends and Jo's mother even helped the boys out on a few cases (along with another friend at the bar).
    • Being her normal head strong self, a couple months after that point, Jo ran off on her own to help the Winchesters with hunting down a ghost. Sadly, she gets... caught by the ghost and almost killed, but this only hardens her resolve to become a hunter, whether her mother wants her to or not. Shortly after that, Jo finds out that her father died because of John Winchester, Sam and Dean's dad. She rejects her friendship with them as well as her relationship with her mother, and sets out to become a hunter all on her own.
    • Jo was working in a bar in Duluth when a demon possessed Sam Winchester shows up at the bar she was working at. The demon attempted to torture both Sam and Jo, but Jo is saved by Dean, who almost dies in the process. The brothers vanish, again, leaving Jo to pick up the pieces and figure out what the hell was even going on.
    • Several months after that, Jo and Ellen answer a call from another hunter named Rufus to help with a demon infested town. It turned out that the town was not demon infested, instead one of the four horse men of the apocalypse was there, and Jo ends up almost getting killed and almost killing a number of her close friends and family before everything is all sorted out.
    • Jo and Ellen get a visit from the Winchester, asking for their help to find a gun to kill the devil with. The two women agree and set out with Dean, Sam, Bobby (another hunter), and Castiel (an angel) to kill Lucifer. Unfortunately, Jo gets attacked by hellhounds and her stomach gets ripped to shreds while saving Dean Winchester's life. While her mother is helping her into a nearby building, black vines rise out of the ground and grab Jo, taking her to Pandora.

    ROLEPLAY SAMPLE

There was a terrible ripping noise and she could feel hot pain across her body. There was an epicenter of it, she could feel claws swiping past her clothing, past her flesh, and into her. Jo let out a scream of pain, but gritted her teeth seconds later as one of the others shot over her shoulder to fight the hell hound off. They were yelling, but all the sounds were oddly distance, as if her friends were a couple blocks down the street instead of a breath behind her. Her shotgun dipped, because one hand was suddenly gripping onto the fabric of her shirt front, as if she could use the material to help keep herself together, and she suddenly didn't have any strength in her body.

Almost as if everything was in slow motion, Jo's knees started to give out. But there was her mother, tucking herself under Jo's arm and screaming for help. The blonde stumbled backward, fingers feeling wet, slick, and warm despite clinging onto her t-shirt. Her breath was shallow, like she couldn't quite take a whole breath, like it was hard. Her body was in pain, but the portions of her body that weren't in pain were going numb. Cold and hard to move, she could feel the shotgun slipping through her fingers and heard the bell of a door chime as her mother continued to pull her backward.

She blinked for a second, for a moment, and suddenly everything was gone. Black vines exploded from the ground and wrapped around her. Suddenly Jo couldn't hear the Winchesters. Her mother was gone. All she had was a shotgun and her own hand trying to keep herself together. Jo coughed and the movement hurt more than she could explain. She was... standing in the forest in the middle of somewhere.

Jo glanced around, but her vision was blurry. She could make out trees, vague shapes that she could barely see, which didn't make sense because she had been in the middle of a city seconds before. The hunter staggered, her knees continuing the motion they had started before, starting to cave under the weight of her wounds. Her back hit a tree, not lightly, and Jo slid down to the ground before letting out another groan. Her eyes started to close again, even though she could almost making out the sounds of someone moving through the brush towards her. "Help." The word was weak, barely making it past her lips and Jo gritted her teeth, knowing that she had to put everything she could into getting help before she passed out. If no one found her, she was done for. "HELP!" She managed the call louder, forcing the words through lips that didn't want to move, and she coughed again, causing more blood to seep through her shirt and fingers. Blackness fought to take over and Jo suddenly felt light... as if she was floating in air. This was what her mother had always warned her against. A hunter's death.

    This was the end.
