    Year 7
    23rd December, Winter

    @Amy Pond, @Clara Oswald

This past month had been a wild ride, and Rose had no plans to slow down. Initially, she'd been pretty freaked, as she imagined anyone would be after being dragged from their bed in the middle of the night by mysterious vines. They -- whoever it was -- had pulled her here, and left Rose in a world she'd never known. Not even The Doctor had mentioned Pandora, but with billions of planets in the sky, it would almost impossible to know them all. A tiny part of her realised she was only in this particular village to distract herself from the sickening feeling of loneliness and deep rooted panic that settled quite comfortably in the pit of her stomach. She had no friends, no real home, no source of income and was trapped in yet another world with no way out. And yet, in Hogsmeade, everything else seemed to melt away.

Rose supposed she was more equipped for this experience than most; she'd landed in many parallel worlds and visited many planets over the years. But she'd always had some kind of plan, some kind of reason for being there and she'd never been alone, not really. But this village, Hogsmeade, was one of the most beautiful places she'd ever visited. It seemed to have a life of it's own, away from the rest of Pandora, and had appeared overnight, or at least that's what the local new was telling her. Snow was atop every building and a warm, friendly atmosphere filled the busy streets as Rose explored.

Christmas was Rose's favourite time of year but it had never been quite so tough. It was the season for being with the people she loved; her family, her friends. The Doctor. But none of them were here. Rose had never felt more alone, and so apart from the rest of the festivities.

Her hazel eyes became alive with wonder as she peered inside a nearby shop window. There was chocolate of all shapes and sizes in there, some were even moving on their own! The blonde came to a stop, her nose almost pressed up against the window before she realised what she was doing. Hastily taking a step back, Rose turned on her tail and walked toward the doorway, when someone suddenly called out her name.

No one had called her name like that in weeks, as if they knew her, but it wasn't a voice she recognised. Who was it?

Finding that The Doctor was alive and well had taken the edge off Amy’s grief over losing two of the people who meant the most to her here. Another plus was that this incarnation of The Doctor was a future one, so it meant he survived and would likely live for a long time. But the other source of her sadness remained; Rose. A companion like her, Rose had been strong, brave and had never backed down in the face of danger, especially if it meant protecting the ones she loved. But she had paid the ultimate price for the above, and Amy was left with the tragic knowledge that there was no way to bring her friend back. She wasn’t even sure if people killed in Pandora return home, despite that people disappeared all the time.

She’d tried to distract herself in the past month, which was why she was out today in Hogsmeade, a new village that had somehow popped up in Pandora. It was pretty and whimsical, the sort of Christmassy place you’d want to go to if you wanted to forget all of your troubles. Normally, Amy would have enjoyed somewhere like this, but with all that had happened, it was hardly a surprise this setting didn’t appeal to her at the minute.
Tugging her scarf tighter around her neck, the redhead stuck her hands in her jacket pockets as she walked past a few shops with brief interest. There was a place selling chocolate across from her and Amy could see some blonde woman peering into the window with awe. She smiled sadly; the hair colour reminded her so much of Rose. And then, the impossible seemed to happen. As the woman turned away from the window and headed for the door, Amy managed to get a good look at her face.

It…it was her! How was this happening?

“Rose!” Amy shouted out before she could stop herself. Not wanting the blonde to get away, the redhead soon raced to her side, both elation and shock on her face. “Rose…how…how are you here?” She said breathlessly as she got closer to her, at a loss for words. Amy almost reached to hug her, but stopped, as though afraid that Rose would disappear into thin air at her touch.

Clara walked slowly through the snowy village, arms crossed against the cold. She didn't have a goal, or even a reason to be there, other than that it was something to do. This whole place felt paper thin to Clara. Even the other people who passed seemed as mirages. None of this mattered to her- it was just a beautiful cage. If she were dead, that's all it would ever be. And if it were real, then she needed to leave. Find her Doctor.

She didn't know why she came to this place called Hogsmeade, but after a bit of wandering around, she was glad that she did.

The redhead and blonde women drew her eye before she could process why. And then, when she saw their faces, she knew. She didn't know their names, but she knew their faces. And she was pretty certain she knew where she'd seen them.

She approached, eyes narrowed slightly as she looked between the two women. "Sorry, it's just... You two know the Doctor, don't you?"

Rose's face opened with bewilderment as a girl around her own age called her name and barrelled head first toward her. She was a tall, pretty redhead and Rose racked her brains, trying to remember when they'd met and who she was. Someone from school? Had she forgotten someone? No way. If she had, Rose felt awful, especially as the girl seemed so happy to see her. Feeling immensely guilty, she gazed at the redhead with a slightly blank, doe-eyed expression.

There were two options here. Either Rose winged it and pretended to know this woman, or she could just tell her the truth and admit she'd forgotten. Rose was certain they'd never met before, but that didn't make any sense and it was more than obvious that this girl did know her. Swallowing hard, Rose shifted on the spot and hoped she wouldn't end up with a slap in the face when another suddenly approached.

The next girl was also pretty, but petite and brunette, and Rose thought they'd look quite a team if they ever went out on the town together. The redhead, the brunette and the blonde. But that moment of madness was quickly extinguished when the brunette spoke next. The Doctor. The colour in Rose's cheeks paled and she took a slight step back from both of them. "Oh, you gotta be kidding me," she replied with a shaky laugh. This was a joke, yeah? Or some kind of trick? She glanced at the redhead. "You... You know The Doctor too?"

It was a hesitant question, but also one full of senseless hope. It stupidly hadn't even occurred to her that their connection could be The Doctor. Had they met on one of their travels? Or maybe it was from a time Rose hadn't experienced yet... Did this girl know The Doctor, or The Doctor she now lived with?

When Rose didn’t immediately reply, and showed no signs of recognising her, Amy’s elation gave way to concern. What was going on here? Then she remembered many months ago, when she’d first got here, how Rose had known her and acted as though they were friends. Had a version of Rose been pulled back to Pandora? Now that Amy looked at her properly, she could see there were some differences in her appearance; she was still young, but there were subtle clues that she'd aged, such as her hair. Before she could think of anything to say, another woman appeared, a brunette...with a familiar face...

Clara! She hadn’t seen her since her first day in Pandora, when she’d somehow wandered into her diner-that-was-really-a-TARDIS. From her tone, Amy could guess she was in the same situation as Rose. But what puzzled the redhead was that this Clara also seemed to also recognise them too, despite her tone. This day was weird, even by her standards.

She sighed as Rose backed slightly away from the two, colour draining from her face. Amy didn’t want to leave both of them in the dark, so got straight to the point. “Yeah, we both do. And I know who the two of you are; Rose Tyler and Clara Oswald. We’ve all travelled with The Doctor at some point; both of you were in Pandora before. I met you on my first day here.” She then turned to Clara, the question from before coming back to her, “How do you know who we are, though?” She gestured to herself and Rose.

Well, this was weirder than Clara had been thinking it would, and she hadn't had high expectations.

Apparently the blonde didn't know either of them- and the redhead knew them both. Clara tilted her head a bit, eyebrows scrunching together at her. "I... don't think so. I've only been here for a short while." She glanced between the two women, then. Rose Tyler. "I know because I travelled with him also. And I saw parts of his past." Her lips parted, ready to launch into an explanation, but stopped herself short.

She instead lifted an eyebrow, after the brief pause. "It's a bit of a long story, the how part." Then, she took a breath, something like hope fluttering around her insides. "Is he here?"

The redhead took a second look at Rose, the exhilaration quickly draining from her face. It slowly dawned upon Rose that there could've been another version of herself here, just as she'd read about in the welcome sheets at The Shelter. They'd warned newcomers that this could sometimes happen. Timelines were in a state of flux, and everyone was from a different point in time. Nothing was linear. This planet seemed to work outside the whole continuum of space and time, and Rose wondered vaguely if The Doctor had ever come across it before.

    The Doctor.

It was always The Doctor. Rose's eyebrows jolted upwards as her name was repeated back at her, and she looked to the floor, trying to make sense of all this. She'd met this woman before. They were friends. Rose felt a peculiar sense of guilt for not knowing her, though she was relieved to find she wasn't losing her mind or forgetting people completely. Clara Oswald. Rose looked at the tiny brunette and then the tall, leggy redhead beside her, taking them both in one by one. She could see it now. They were both his type, and all three of them seemed to possess a similar kind of spunk.

"What's your name?" She asked her old/new redheaded friend and glanced to Clara as she stopped herself short. She'd seen his past; what did that mean? Whatever it was, Rose imagined it would be something complicated and scientific and was not surprised when she said it was a long story. She exhaled a short sort of laugh, knowing exactly what she meant. "I..." Rose looked to the floor again, not wanting to diminish the hope that had flashed up in Clara's eyes. "I haven't seen him." Rose looked to her right, realising the redhead hadn't answered. A strange looked flitted across her face. "...Have you?"

Okay. Perhaps going the direct route hadn’t been all that great of an idea, given the two women’s reactions, but Amy would rather have got this out in the open now and not leave everyone confused. Clara hadn’t been in Pandora that long, either, as she’d thought. Rose asked her name and Amy felt a pang of sadness at her ‘friend’ asking that question.

“I’m Amy, Amy Pond.” She too wondered what Clara meant by having seen The Doctor’s past; she knew her and Rory weren’t the first people he’d travelled with, but for the brunette to have actually seen his timeline or whatever it was she was trying to say…the only other person who came close to knowing him like that was River. Since she’d never had any closure to that part of her life, it was still hard to think about.

She had hesitated as both of them waited for her answer. “I…I have.” Amy finally said, having trouble describing her meeting with The Doctor to them. But hey, they’d already had one lot of confusing news today, and if they were anything like her, surprises should be an everyday thing by now. “He’s in Pandora Town, owns a shop.” It was something that basically screamed “The Doctor,” being full of odd bits and pieces. She had met Rose’s Doctor, before he had disappeared, but she couldn’t remember if the old Clara had mentioned the appearance of hers. “He looks different now – a lot older, grey hair...” He’d at least grown out of his bow-tie wearing stage, something she didn’t miss, apart from being able to tease him about it. It was still difficult seeing him so much older, even if he technically was age wise.

Clara's eyes widened. A smile touched her lips. He was here.

She nodded at Amy's description. "That sounds like my Doctor. When I first knew him, he was young, with the bowtie thing," she replied, made a gesture at her neck where one would sit. "Now he's gone old. Plays guitar. Says he doesn't like hugs, but we know that's not true." After a moment, her grin widened further. "Well, this is brilliant! He must have the TARDIS. We can go home." She looked between the women, expecting their reactions to be, likewise, excited.

Her smile took on a bit of a quirk. "This place can't have anything that could go against the Doctor and three of his companions, right?"

Amy Pond. Rose smiled politely at the name, knowing she wasn't about to forget that in a hurry. These two girls understood more about her life than perhaps anyone else. Being with The Doctor was such a whirlwind, such an adventure that it was impossible to describe unless you'd lived it. In a way, Rose realised was remarkably lucky to have found others from her world, but not only that, had known The Doctor too.

The colour drained from Rose's face as Amy admitted that she'd seen him. He was here. The Doctor was here. No. How had she not known? True, there was no realistic way she could've tracked him down, especially if he were living under an alias. But The TARDIS was pretty distinguishable once you knew what you were looking for, and Rose had been looking. On every corner, down every alleyway. Helplessly hoping for a miracle. And that miracle had happened. She imagined he'd probably hidden the The TARDIS away somewhere, not wanting it to fall into the wrong hands. How long had he been here? Was he stuck too? If even The TARDIS was stuck, that meant they really were in trouble.

Rose took another step back, eyes suddenly glazed with angry tears. Her world seemed to be crashing down around her. It couldn't be... Could it? If it was the shop she was thinking of, she'd been to that shop lots of times; it'd been one of the first ones she'd walked into. She spoken to the shopkeeper and told him stories about her 'friend' when all along it'd been him. He must've thought her such an idiot. Amy's description matched the shopkeeper Rose was thinking of, and she placed both hands on the side of her face, trying to process what she was hearing. He'd lied to her. Or at least hidden the truth. Rose could understand why -- it must've been years since he'd seen her. And yet, she still couldn't quite believe he had.

Her gaze went to Clara. Bow tie? That must've been after Rose's time. It sounded like the shopkeeper was The Doctor Clara currently knew and she tried to smile and return the excitement but couldn't quite manage it. "I think I've met him," Rose said in a small voice. "But he didn't tell me who he was." She shook her head, trying to remain detached. "If he's still here d'ya think The TARDIS is stuck?" Rose looked between the girls, wondering what they thought. "I mean, we all know he's not one to stick around in one place for very long. But if we can go home..."

Amy's concern for Rose was not forgotten. Her former friend smiled, but it was clearly out of politeness. The redhead tried to not get too upset, but it was hard to not give into the urge to put her arms around the blonde and hug her close. And her feelings towards Rose only increased at their reaction to her news.

“Rose, what is it?” she asked, her voice betraying her emotions as she moved closer. But the blonde stepped back, tears forming in her eyes, causing Amy to stop. What had she said?

As though this reunion couldn’t get anymore weird, Clara’s face lit up at her description of The Doctor. Amy’s heart leapt as the brunette mentioned her own Doctor and she gasped; she’d only just been thinking of his bowtie! Her excitment was laced with fear; what had happened to her and Rory? Still, the redhead was glad that he’d found someone else; she knew he should never travel alone. When they’d first met, he’d been so different; distant, easily angered, and, well, alien. She regretted the distance they'd had between them before she'd been pulled here.

Her expression faltered at Clara’s smile, both because of her words and at Rose becoming upset. But it soon became clear at the latter's answer; the blonde had already met The Doctor here too, he’d just not revealed who he was. Amy wasn’t sure why in the hell he would try something like that, given how much he meant to Rose; when the other versions of them had been here, it was clear there was something more than friendship going on with how close they were.

“I…” Amy started, lost for words. She didn’t want to build up false hope. “Pandora…there isn’t exactly a way out. I mean, maybe there is. But I’ve never found it since I was here, neither has anyone else.”

Clara's eyes narrowed in concern at Rose. She wished she could offer something of comfort- but she'd travelled with the Doctor for a long time, and still sometimes was clueless as to why he did somethings. He would surely remember Rose, as he former companion. Was there a story there? Something he was avoiding?

"Maybe he was waiting to find us," she suggested to Rose, at the idea that the TARDIS might be stuck. Then, to Amy. "If anyone could, he could." Then, after a pause, her smile widened. "We could." She looked between the two girls before settling her gaze back to the blonde.

"Rose, he must've had a reason. We'll get it out of him, and figure this out."

A look of concern washed over Amy, and Rose was touched by her kindness as she listened to Rose's explanation. They must've been close friends once upon a time, making Rose feel all the more guilty for not being that same Rose who'd experienced life in Pandora with Amy. She tried to imagine the situation on the other foot, and looked to Amy with a mixture of regret and hope. While she wasn't the Rose who knew Amy, she could be. They could start again, if Amy wanted to.

Not only that, but they had another member of the TARIS crew with them. Clara. She looked at Rose thoughtfully, her dark brown eyes slightly narrowed as she attempted to get in the The Doctor's mindset. He was such an enigma sometimes. It made Rose uncomfortable when he went and did things like this because she thought she knew him. Maybe that was why it hurt all the more.

Rose could sense the hesitation but was glad when Amy spoke honestly, knowing that in the long run, it was better than a lie that'd follow false hope. She couldn't help but build strength from Clara's suggestions, and nodded half heartedly as she ran a hand through her blonde hair. "Yeah," she agreed with a sigh. "Maybe."

Shaking herself out of it, Rose smiled at the two of them, feeling more put together now that'd spoken her mind. "Thank you," she said, understanding more by the second why these two would attract The Doctor. They both held such kindness and strength, comforting Rose even when she was like this. "It's just... I thought I knew him, you know?" She exhaled and looked between the two of them. "You're right. If anyone can work this out, it's us. Maybe we could help. There's gotta be something we can do to get home."

Amy was glad for Clara’s input; maybe The Doctor did have his reasons, although a part of her still wanted to slap the hell of out him for upsetting Rose. She knew better than anyone here how Pandora worked and even if she didn’t know everything, it was likely The Doctor himself was frustrated with not being able to come and go as he pleased.

She gave a sympathetic smile to Rose in understanding, but said nothing else, mostly because she wasn’t sure what to say without making it worse. It appeared that all of their Doctors were different people, only with some similar quirks. She did want to ask Clara at some point what her Doctor had been like later in his incarnation, without "spoilers," as River called it.

“Yeah, maybe we can. We’ve faced the impossible and we’re still here,” she cracked a smirk at that, hoping to lighten the mood. But then her voice too on a softer tone, “…I’m really glad to see you both again. Even if you don't know who I am.”

Clara was nodding along with both of the girls' comments. She had faced the impossible; certainly the Doctor had not been more hesitant with these companions, spared them such excitement. It was impossible that they were all standing there together, yet there they stood. A brunette, a blonde, and a redhead-- all they needed was their grey-haired Doctor to make it a right party.

"I'm glad to meet you, Amy. Again, I suppose." She spoke warmly to the woman, then glanced towards the ground. Half of her wanted to suggest they march to see the Doctor together right then, but... she needed to see him first. The last she'd seen him, she'd left him to go to her death.

"I'll go see the Doctor soon. I... I need to see him by myself, first. But I'm sure I'll be seeing plenty of you both, too, right?" A small, hopeful smile. She'd been so lonely thus far. And she had a feeling these girls would get it-- what it was like to go from traveling with the Doctor, to being stuck here. They could be friends, she hoped.

Rose smiled back at Amy, knowing the sympathy she felt was genuine. The best thing about meeting people who knew The Doctor, or better yet, had traveled with him, was that they understood. No one else in the world would get that unless they'd developed a similar relationship with him. The highs and lows, the intoxicating way it drew you in. "Yeah, it's nice to meet ya both," Rose interjected, echoing Clara's thoughts. "I'm sorry if this is a little weird for you," she added to Amy, still feeling guilty. "I wish I could remember."

Her gaze lingered on Amy for a moment before she turned back to Clara. She'd become very thoughtful all of a sudden, and Rose realised she wasn't the only one hurting. All three of them had shared heartache with The Doctor. Each of them had had to say goodbye to him, which meant all three had issues and feelings to deal with. She was understanding more by the second why The Doctor had done what he had, knowing no matter what they were currently feeling, he'd had to do it three times over -- not to mention the hundred of times he'd suffered in his very long lifetime.

Rose knew she was being selfish, that her human mind couldn't comprehend the pain it meant to live so long and lose all those she cared for. She felt bad for feeling so angry, but unable to quite shift it. She nodded at Clara, returning the hopeful smile. "Definitely," she agreed. She eyed the brunette with concern. "Be careful, yeah?" She added, knowing that Clara would understand. As much as they all loved him, it was always going to be difficult seeing him again.

Amy was glad that both women shared her sentiment. There was a chance things wouldn’t be that different between them once they’d gotten to know her better. She really hoped so. The redhead had never met anyone apart from Rory who really understood what her life was like and both Rose and Clara had really eased the pain of him not being here. She knew she’d ruin the moment by saying something stupid, so just gave a grateful smile to the women.

Clara then mentioned she needed to see The Doctor, alone. Amy couldn’t blame her, after what she’d just said. There was a lot for both of them to take in, especially with Rose; she still felt uncomfortable that he’d lied to her so blatantly, even if there was some logical explanation behind it.

“Yeah, ‘course ya will,” Amy reassured Clara. She definitely wanted to spend more time with them. She nodded at Rose’s warning, and added, “What Rose said. Just…take care.” Hopefully Clara would have an easier time seeing The Doctor, as she’d mentioned that this version of him was the one she knew. ‘You’d better not mess her about too, Raggedy Man,’ Amy thought to herself. Even if he was different, secretly she couldn’t give up the nickname that meant so much to her.

Clara's smile softened, and she nodded to both of the women. Her feet carried her a step backwards, hands behind her back, but she took a moment to look between them both. "I will," she said. "You as well. Enjoy the snow, and... good luck, I suppose." A pause, and then she turned away. A few steps later, she turned on her heels, gave a little wave. "Be seeing you," she said, with a decided dip of her head. She would. And then, the brunette turned into the snow and went on her way.

((the end?? unless y'all wanna post to wrap!))
