    JULY 20TH, YEAR 6
    LATE EVENING
    @Wolfgang Bogdanow

They were supposed to have been out on a date. Just a nice, normal date, with drinking and talking and laughing. Pretty much exactly what they'd always done before, but there was something about knowing the word "date" now applied that still made Jaesa a little nervous. Nervous enough that she wanted everything to go right. No hiccups. No unpleasant surprises.

The night had taken a turn she hadn't expected, but she supposed it wasn't a bad one. Maybe the total opposite in fact. Nice and normal were things that Jaesa had simply become unaccustomed to, all things considered, and this new development added a bit more... spice to an evening that had been pleasant but had lacked something distinctively exciting. Not that she would ever stop enjoying going out with drinks with Wolfgang, but, well, things had been slow lately, in terms of adrenaline rushes. She hadn't found many decent fights, and there'd been nothing worthwhile come her way at work. She'd been restless without even knowing it, not even realising that she'd had a terrible itch until it was getting scratched.

Jaesa easily dodged an incoming swing, sweeping her pole beneath the guy's legs to send the assailant tripping and sprawling onto the floor. Who these guys were she had no idea, but likely they were part of some criminal gang in this area. She and Wolfgang had run into them as they had returned to her ship, planning on watching a movie. While people gawking over her ship were nothing new, these guys were rather more sinister than that. They had equipment, quite technological, and had been attempting to force their way onto the Corvette when Jaesa and Wolfgang had turned the corner and disturbed them.

Even with her particular temper issues, which Obi-Wan had not yet managed to iron out, there were few ways to rile her more effectively than messing with her ship. She'd already been spoiling for a fight, restless with an itch that needed to be scratched. The second the gang realised that one of them - and they had apparently assumed it was Wolfgang, which was both amusing and irritating - was the ship's owner, they had wasted no time in attempting to either get rid of them or beat them into submission so they'd spill the beans on how to get in.

That had proven to be a bad plan from the get go. For them.

Jaesa didn't have her lightsaber with her - she finally felt secure enough at least in Wolfgang's presence not to feel the need to take it with her when she was him - but she had found a length of metal six feet long from around the industrial yard at the edge of which her ship was parked. She wielded the metal pole almost as expertly as she did her lightsaber, her quarterstaff training with Kaladin coming in handy with all this weight that didn't exist with her usual weapon. While before, she might have been overcome with a burning anger and desire to murder, she'd managed to control herself at least enough to quash such things. Now, she just felt pumped, and excited. Stuff like this, she thought, as she kept an eye on where Wolfgang fought nearby, was now just fun.

Wolfgang had sort of settled into expecting crazy things in Pandora. He had been around so many crazy things that he wasn't exactly flustered when something planned went a little sideways. Or at least, that was what the thief liked to think about himself. Light on his toes and able to adapt. Maybe something that had helped him survive through a number of unthinkable things. Shoot outs in the desert. Being chased by a monster on an unknown mountain.

Of course he was entirely aware of the fact that neither of them were exactly the sort to back off from a challenge or a fight. Really Wolfgang didn't even have to worry about what Jaesa was doing on her side of the fight. She was more capable than the thief was and he knew it. Wolfgang wasn't going to argue about it either. The dark haired woman could kick his ass if she ever felt like it, so he didn't doubt that she was going to be fine.

Wolfgang was more of a brawler than anything else. He wasn't use to having a weapon that wasn't a gun in his hands and the blonde certainly hadn't brought a gun to the date. Despite the fact that Pandora Town was more likely to have something dangerous going on in it at any time, Wolfgang still didn't want to start anything with the Watch. He wasn't stupid.

It just meant that Wolfgang had to get a little closer to who he was fighting that Jaesa did. Instead he punched them where it counted: ribs, face, stomach. Trying to hurt, trying to wind, and trying to hit vital parts. As long as he hit quick and sharp, he'd make it hurt well enough unless they had body armor on. This guy didn't though, so most of Wolfgang's punches landed where they were supposed to, leaving the other guy to take several steps back to make space between them.

The blond glanced over at Jaesa just in case. Not because he thought she'd need help, but sometimes she had been caught off guard before. But only like once or twice. Really, he had all the faith in the world in her. But you know, just in case, he made sure she was doing alright.

Jaesa kept an eye on Wolfgang, though not because she thought she was better than him, and that he needed her to look out for him. She just didn’t want anything to go wrong, since they were outnumbered. Besides, she knew he was doing the same, keeping half an eye on her. It was just how they went about these things. They both knew how easy it was to get caught off-guard by someone managing to slip around to your back. It was always better when you had someone at your back, ready to help if such a thing happened. Certainly it had happened to Jaesa a couple of times before, before Wolfgang had helped her out.

Although adrenaline rushed through her, and she could hear that little excited voice that told her to just get rid of the problem by slamming the end of her pole into the sides of the men’s heads, she managed to ignore it. In fact, although she hit them everywhere else, the metal of her makeshift weapon went nowhere near their heads. A blow to the temple would likely kill them, and she didn’t want to do that. Not really. Not unless they did something to actively threaten her life first. Or Wolfgang’s. She knew that she would kill without a thought if she needed to to protect him.

But these men weren’t overly threatening. At least, not to the two of them, as experienced as they were with combat. The group had seemed surprised that they were putting up so much of a fight, outnumbered as they were. Putting up a fight that they were winning. Of course they were.

Glancing Wolfgang’s way as she neatly broke the wrist of the nearest guy who tried to come at her by slamming the end of her pole down onto the radius, she saw another attempting to sneak behind Wolfgang, and this one was holding a knife.

She didn’t bother to use her makeshift weapon. Lifting one hand from the pole, she raised it towards the guy, and used the Force to send him flying through the air to crash into the ground several yards away with enough force to wind him and leave him skidding a few metres on his back until he came to a stop in a crumpled heap at the bottom of a wire-link fence. The knife had fallen out of his hand and clattered to the ground mid-throw. Satisfied, Jaesa caught Wolfgang’s eye and grinned, her eyes sparkling.

It was always cool to see Jaesa fighting. It was something that Wolfgang had admired since they had met. And he was glad that he had never been on the receiving end of those sorts of things from her. The dark haired woman could kick his ass around Pandora if she felt she needed to, so it wasn't something Wolfgang ever wanted to test. Even if the thief had an inkling that he might have been able to learn a thing or two in the process.

Still his smirk grew a bit the instant that he saw a man go flying though the air off to the side. The telltale sound of him hitting a fence. That sort of thing was something that Wolfgang would have enjoyed, that was for sure. Of course the blond didn't have that much time to think about it though because the man in front of him lunged his way to try and grab his attention. And him. Minor details though.

Wolfgang pushed back, throwing the man backwards as well as he could. He shifted in time to handle another man coming in on his left, grappling with him as the second man tried to grab him as well. There was a joke in this somewhere, but Wolfgang's mind couldn't manage too much thinking and fighting at the same time like this. It could really only understand one thing major at a time.

The thief wasn't the sort to let a man just grab him without getting hurt in the process. And Wolfgang didn't fight in any fair way. He fought to make sure the other party understood that it couldn't ever try to challenge him again. That sort of thing. So instead of worrying about the results, Wolfgang shoved his fingers straight into the second man's eyes. Because fuck that guy.

"Four." He wasn't counting the man who had been knocked against the fence, though he was still considering the man who was reeling back holding onto his face now. That one still counted, unless Wolfgang had somehow counted wrong. But he had calmly called out the number to his girlfriend to make it clear what they were dealing with. At least for the moment.

She wasn't worried about Wolfgang even when she saw two of the four men converge on him. He could look after himself. After all, he had more experience than she did, technically. She'd only relatively recently started using her training in actual fight scenarios, whereas he was plainly used to this kind of thing.

She could have easily beat him in a fight despite her lesser experience, but with the Force involved, everything was an unfair fight. Without it, she was pretty sure he would beat her. He was just better at this kind of brawling. She always enjoyed watching him when he fought, and had from that very first fight she'd helped him out in.

Not that she had a chance to really watch him as he dealt with his pair of thugs because the other two left were flanking her, one attempting to distract her while the other was at her back, hoping to be able to grab her while she was distracted. For all their high tech equipment for trying to break into her ship, they seemed a little out of their depth against someone wielding a six-foot metal pole and telekinetic powers.

The poor guy behind her wasn't to know that she could sense he was there, that he wasn't sneaking up on her at all. The moment he lunged at her, just starting to reach around to grab her makeshift metal staff so she couldn't swing it, and the guy in front of her moved to seize her as well, Jaesa sidestepped, swiftly and gracefully dodging both of them, spinning to face them and then used the Force to shove both of them towards each other in a tangle of limbs and cacophony of shocked yells, heads knocking together so hard they both slumped to the ground unconscious.

"These guys are so stupid I'm pretty sure that sound echoed," she remarked with a chuckle, tossing her fringe out of her eyes and leaning against the pole she'd been fighting with as she eyed Wolfgang. "Just your two left." She nodded at the other pair, one of them blinking in clear pain and not looking happy at all.

There were a number of really cool things in Pandora. There was space and space ships. There were wild, crazy people. Cool people, with such different walks of life that Wolfgang admired it all. He admired Pandora and all the crazy people who had crazy abilities. There were of course, people who used it for terrible reasons, but it was hard for Wolfgang to think about people like that. Because he wasn't thinking about them when he thought about "cool powers". Wolfgang was thinking of Jaesa.

It was amazing the way she could do things totally out of the norm was kind of amazing to him. Was it odd that he almost admired her a bit more than he felt he should have? The way she could just do it all so naturally, looking far too calm about it all. Wolfgang wasn't sure he'd be able to contain any of his excitement. There was plenty about it he would have been excited for. Maybe. They had different lives. But that was alright. It was supposed to be this way.

But Wolfgang was grinning almost ear to ear when he turned to look at his girlfriend. Who was making sure that her displeasure at the other guys' fighting abilities was known. Not in a totally fuck you way, but in her own way. Hardly crass, which was odd for him, but that was because he could trash talk with the filthy easily enough. When he felt like it.

"You take one, I take the other?" He nodded slightly to his left to indicate she should take that one, while he would take the right. Wolfgang wasn't worried a bit that Jaesa was out doing him. The blond was totally fine with Jaesa holding more of the weight in a fight. He was perfectly secure in himself in that manner. No need to showboat. He could take the one. So he slammed into the one on his right, having just as much fun now as he had in the beginning of the fight.

Jaesa might have looked calm, but that was just because it wasn't often that emotions ever really showed on her face. Not that she always looked blank, either. It was just easy to read her as being calm, the only thing really pointing to how she felt being an excited light glinting in her eyes if you looked closely enough.

On the outside, she was calm. On the inside, she was bubbling with enthusiasm, adrenaline powering her every move. Part of her still preferred the feeling of being powered by rage, but this was... this was safer. Both for the people she fought and for herself. It had been hard to really move on from past events when rage had been her motivator.

As calm as she appeared, she couldn't help the grin that swept across her face as Wolfgang suggested they both take one of the remaining thieves each. Many guys would have taken the opportunity to show off, to take both of them at once while she had nothing to do but watch. The fact that Wolfgang seemed to enjoy fighting alongside her so much, and took any opportunity to share the fight, was something that made her insides feel warm, though not quite in a fuzzy way. A bit... hotter than that, perhaps.

The man Wolfgang left for her decided he really didn't want to go up against the woman who'd tossed one of them with seemingly just the air, and knocked another two unconscious with those same powers. He turned tail, and ran. For the briefest of moments, Jaesa was just going to let him scurry away like the rat he was, but that was swiftly throttled by a voice that reminded her that these guys had been trying to steal her ship. She and Wolfgang had to show them that that was a really bad idea.

So she ran forward, past Wolfgang as he dealt with his thief, and then used the Force to boost her jump so she landed on the roof of the nearby warehouse. She ran across it for a few steps until she was next to and above the escaping thug. He hadn't even managed to leave the yard. Jaesa leaped off the roof, landing lightly on the man's shoulders as he turned around to stare up at her and sending him sprawling on his back on the ground.

Crouching over him, she didn't even give him chance to whine or plead or swear or whatever he was going to do when he opened his mouth. She just punched him square in the face, hard enough that his head rebounded back onto the concrete with a smack, blood pouring from his nose as it broke with a resounding crunch. The way she practically loomed over him like a predatory animal and the blood on his face, reminded her abruptly of the time a year ago that she had seemingly killed Philip Blake in this exact way. It had felt good back then. A little voice told her to repeat her strike again and again, but she ignored it with more ease than she would have managed even a couple of months before.

"Stay the hell away from my ship," she growled at the guy quietly, before she straightened back up and moved away from him, back towards Wolfgang and the thug he'd been handling. Electricity tingled through her limbs, adrenaline making her chest rise up and down sharply, her breathing deep. She still managed to keep a calm expression on her face, but her eyes sparkled with the enjoyment of the fight as she rejoined Wolfgang's side.

Stealing a space ship was something that Wolfgang might have liked to try himself, but these guys had picked the wrong ship. Stealing from Jaesa was a no-no. But once again a part of him understood entirely because... well, it was a nice ship. So perhaps it was just bad luck. Just bad chance that they had decided to steal from the wrong person at the wrong time. For all Wolfgang knew, they didn't have a chance in hell in getting instead. He knew he wouldn't have stood a chance. Cracking safes by hand? No problem. Advanced lock systems from a futuristic galaxy? Hell no.

Not that was always the case with others. Wolfgang was suddenly interested in rifling through their pockets to see what sorts of gear they had one them. For... reasons. Which brought a grin back on his lips as he concentrated on the one he was fighting. Though the blond did see Jaesa's guy run off down the way. Away from Jaesa. Which might have been the smart move if he didn't know who he was fighting. Wolfgang was entirely certain that the dark haired woman was in control of the situation. No question about it!

Wolfgang managed to handle the last guy shortly after Jaesa threw around hers. Two quick punches to the jaw while he was distracted by the force user. And she was distracting. In all sorts of wonderful ways, if Wolfgang was willing to let his mind wander. Which was happening since everyone they had been fighting was currently on the ground, wishing they had picked another ship to rob. "You looked like you enjoyed that." It was only a little tease to go with the giant, lopsided grin that creased his face.

He was only teasing her a little bit before he bent down over the man he had knocked out. Rifling through their pockets, making sure to check for weapons and the like as he did so. Anything not of note was chucked on the ground next to him and Wolfgang pocketed a number of other things. Money. A piece of ID, though it might have been fake, and whatever else looked decently interesting out of their pockets.

"Though I have to wonder what made them think they could even get inside in the first place." Wolfgang shrugged his shoulders slightly before repeating the process on the next guy. Except he didn't have anything interesting on him either. Maybe there wasn't a real plan in mind. If so they were idiots. Not that that would have changed anything at all. Idiots were going to be idiots no matter where you went. "I think we'd be best moving off for the night though. Just in case the Watch comes around." He nodded off to the side, offering to follow her if she decided to lead the way.

Wolfgang had easily dealt with his own thief, the guy out cold on the ground with the others, some of whom were still unconscious, others groggy. She paid them no mind now that they were all on the ground, none of them a threat to either Jaesa or Wolfgang, or her ship, any longer.

"So do you," she pointed out with a grin to match his as she sidled up beside him, watching as he stooped to empty the guys' pockets. Her eyes lingered on him a little longer than was strictly necessary, but she couldn't help it. It didn't seem to matter how long they had known each other - she was pretty sure it was getting on to a year now, actually - he always seemed so... amazing to her. Just the fact that he was there. That she'd somehow gone from such an awful life with the most awful person to having someone like Wolfgang around, wanting to be with her. No, she couldn't help the way her eyes lingered on him even while he did something like commit petty theft. She never could.

Finally managing to pull her gaze away before thoughts of him and how much she liked watching him could fog up her mind too much, Jaesa's attention was pulled back to the high tech equipment she'd seen the thieves using to try and get onto her ship. It was all still on the ground underneath the belly of the vessel where the ramp would come down.

She strode over to the tech, picking up the machines. She wasn't familiar with them, but wasn't exactly interested in what they were, as long as they weren't used to get onto her Corvette. "Guess they were using this stuff. Didn't seem to work, unless we just caught them as they were getting started," she said with a light shrug. "Whatever. They aren't gonna be using them again anyway."

Punching in the security key on the belly of the ship - angling her body to make sure none of the thieves could see - Jaesa brought the ramp hissing down. With a quirk of her eyebrows and a grin at Wolfgang, she used the Force to pick up the equipment and toss it all up the ramp onto the ship at the bottom of the stairs to the deck. She climbed up into the ship after them, and then jerked her head behind her towards the stairs for Wolfgang to come up too.

"I'll move the ship somewhere else," she said, once he'd joined her. Once he had, she brought the ramp up again, enclosing them in the vessel. Turning back to face Wolfgang, she slipped her hand up his chest for a moment, reaching up on her toes to press a kiss to his lips before pulling back again. "Then we can watch that movie. If you can't think of anything better to do." She grinned, her eyes still glittering with that adrenaline and excitement, before turning and running up the blue-lit steps onto the deck.

He did enjoy this. Wolfgang really did think that it was an odd twist to date someone who meshed so well with so many facets of his personality. People were different things to different people. Wolfgang understood entirely how odd the mind and personality could work ever since his cluster. To have all those thoughts jumbled around in his mind? Life was complex, but Jaesa fit so well into his it was... weird and nice all at the same time.

Of course he did feel like an idiot sometimes when he was with her. She was far smarter than he was about a great number of things. And far more observant when he was just trying to leave the scene before the Watch showed up. Which was typically a rather important thing to do, all things considered, because he didn't want to be on anyone's radar. And by doing that he had completely missed everything that was sitting right by her space ship's door. Welp. He couldn't be the smart one in most occasions right? He really was rusty.

"Sounds good. Let's go." He really couldn't argue with her logic. Wolfgang was half in love with her space ship too. Which entirely stopped his thoughts for a second. As sharply as a missed breath or a knife between the ribs, Wolfgang almost missed a step as he moved towards the door of her ship. Half in love with her ship too? His blue eyed gaze dragged straight to the dark haired woman as she unlocked the door.

Wolfgang managed to make it up the ramp before he took another breath. It was sort of a shock for him to realize that he was in love with Jaesa. It really wasn't something that he had been expecting right then and there, but now that he had thought it there was no turning back. "I don't mind cruising around either, if that's what you'd prefer." He smiled at her, pushing those emotions down as he tried to figure out what to do with them all. If he was going to do anything at all with it.

Either way he was spending time with his girlfriend, so that was all he really could ask for. All he wanted most nights. Which was just making his feelings even more complicated so Wolfgang continued to ignore them. Instead he slipped into his normal seat and strapped in. "We really should look into getting cable on this thing somehow." Just a joke. Wolfgang didn't even know if it was possible. The brawler just felt a little awkward. Had he ever been in love before? Kala didn't count. That had been something else entirely. This was... well, this was love, wasn't it? Fuck. What was he supposed to do now?

The ship interior was at a perfect temperature, just cool enough to offset the heat of the summer air outside. Seetoo's doing, of course. He knew exactly what temperatures she preferred in any given situation and adjusted the air conditioning accordingly. When she drew back from Wolfgang, she looked around the deck, listening out for the telltale sound of the droid somewhere on the ship.

Nothing. He must have switched himself onto standby once he'd finished his work. Handy for her; having the droid around when she brought Wolfgang to her ship could be as awkward sometimes as it was funny other times. C2-N2 tended not to understand when she wanted... to be alone with her boyfriend. Of course, he left the moment she told him to, but it was still embarrassing when he walked in on something to ask if she and her guest wanted a drink or a meal prepped for them. Wolfgang always seemed to find it hilarious, but she... didn't. She was always glad when the droid was already out of the picture.

They made their way to the bridge, Wolfgang slipping into his usual seat - still the captain's chair - without any hesitation at all. He seemed so at ease on her ship now, which made her just love him even more. He was even able to handle several of the controls around the ship, too, without any direction.

She glanced over her shoulder at him as she settled into one of the two pilots' seats and strapped herself in. Her sense of him had shifted since coming onto the ship, his emotions becoming more aware and also a little awkward. The shift was so abrupt that her sense of him had wriggled into her focus despite the fact that she tried her best not to read his emotions when she was around him. It didn't seem right, to read his.

She frowned a little as she turned back to the control panel, but didn't make any sign she'd been able to tell something had happened to his thought process. She just pushed that sense of him away, ignoring it and focusing on readying the ship for takeoff, leaning forward to flick switches and press buttons.

The engines turned on with a whooshing kind of purr that seemed incongruous in a ship this size. She could say this for magitech - it was quiet. The floor vibrated beneath them, and as she activated the repulsorlifts, the ship began to rise up into the air. "I'll ask around sometime. Can't be having you without your cable," she teased, shooting him a small smile before refocusing on the controls. "Eventually you'll end up running out of movies to bring over." That was all they could really do with the television she'd had wired into the mess room. "Is there anywhere you'd like to go tonight?" All of Pandora was open to them in the Corvette. Or they could just go up into space.

Wolfgang did like Jaesa's droid. And he did find it rather hilarious that the droid seemed to walk in to ask them if they were alright at the most hilarious moments. It could be annoying but he seemed so unbothered by anything that Wolfgang couldn't help but laugh. It was light hearted for him even if Jaesa seemed to be entirely irritated with it. But it meant that Wolfgang liked stopping by and saying hi to the droid at least once every time he was on the ship. The fact the guy wasn't around now distracted Wolfgang slightly even as the engines turned on and they started to pull away from the ground below.

He smirked slightly at her response and turned his attention to what he was supposed to be doing right then and there. Jaesa had slowly upgraded him from touching nothing to helping out a little bit. He was learning, even if it felt like he was learning far too slowly. She seemed to trust him with something new or a little more complicated every couple of trips they took in the ship.

Still Wolfgang was good with details when it came to these situations. Almost like it tickled his old strategies for heists and the like. Cracking a safe was more about insticnts and practice. This felt more of the same for him. So the blond followed the instructions he had running in the back of his mind to help Jaesa with a few minor details while the ship took off.

There was something magical about this that hadn't quite worn off yet. Wolfgang loved to watch... well, he loved a lot of things it seemed. It was almost like the thief couldn't quite take himself away from that word now that he had discovered the emotion. "There's a lot I haven't seen yet." Movies from all sorts of different realms. At least the ones who seemed to have discovered what tv was and followed a similar structure to his own home. That didn't mean that everything was good of course. He had found a lot more bad than good in that category.

"You pick. I'll tag along." Tagging along was how he played a lot of their situations. Wolfgang was just coming along with Jaesa, no fuss. Except it wasn't that anymore, was it? The blond was going to have trouble with this because he was uncertain about it all. But he was still smiling at Jaesa while he spoke. He was with her tonight and that was all that mattered to him.

She didn't even keep an eye on Wolfgang while he helped out with some of the controls anymore. Not even half an eye. She'd used to, back when she'd first started giving him instructions so he'd be more involved in her passion. But by this time, he knew exactly what he was doing, and she trusted him implicitly. There was no need any longer to keep her eye on him to make sure he didn't press any wrong button or anything like that.

It was... well, it was nice having someone to share her ship with. Someone who didn't just sit back and leave her to do everything. Someone who was boundlessly intrigued by the vessel and happy to do anything she needed. Before, it had been something she typically hadn't shared at all. She remembered sharing it with Sauron, remembered him walking these very corridors and standing close to where Wolfgang sat. But it had been so... different. She had sensed in him a hunger and a desire to figure out how he could take her passion for his own, because since she had belonged to him, so to had everything she owned. There was nothing like that with Wolfgang. It was all just innocent interest and fun with the ship.

"It'd be tough not to," she pointed out, glancing behind her with a teasing little smirk before she returned her focus to the ship's controls. She didn't speak as the vessel rose higher in the air; she had never been the type of pilot who could easily chatter away while she flew, especially not with a ship this size.

Once the ship was at a high enough altitude, she took them over the plains, towards the huge mountain in the distance and the forests that surrounded it. Although the distance was likely a bit less than a couple hundred miles from Pandora Town, the journey took less than fifteen minutes at top speed before she stopped the ship, the hum of the repulsorlifts still going through the vessel as she kept them activated to keep the ship in the air.

The view through the windows was of the forest and the plains rolling along far below, the slopes of the mountain above which they hovered marching down to the ground. There was a lake nearby, waters shimmering down below in the moonlight. Jaesa doubted Wolfgang really cared about the view, but she liked bringing them places where it was nice to look outside. Better than looking out at the grotty yards on the outskirts of Blackhaven.

"Got any idea of what you'd like to watch?" she asked, as she unstrapped herself from her seat and rose to her feet, rounding her chair and stopping by Wolfgang's, holding a hand out for him with a smile; a gesture she had been too nervous to do with him a few months before, but as with so much else in Pandora, things changed.

There was always something beautiful out the view port. It was like Jaesa had flown around a good amount of Pandora and knew where all the scenic views were. She had traveled a lot, he knew. A lot more than he had. And the view from a ship like this was likely to be beautiful. From this angle just about everything... it was weird how his mind seemed to think completely different when they were in space than when they were on the ground. Like being perfectly out of view of everything and anything brought some of the pressure off his chest. He was a little more... natural up here.

Which meant that he trusted Jaesa deeply. And again, his thoughts were circling in odd directions. It probably had something to do with his realization. Because that had hit him from left field so Wolfgang felt a little unbalanced. He took a bit of a breath as they put the ship into "park". Which meant that it would sort of hover in place until they decided to take it somewhere else. A nice little trick he hadn't really considered from the movies. Space ships always had somewhere to be when they were on screen.

Wolfgang took Jaesa's hand and helped himself up, trying to think about what he wanted to watch. Nothing really came to mind despite the fact that it was still earlier on their date night. They were supposed to be a decent amount of time before the end of the night. But he wasn't thinking about tv. Instead he was thinking about her. About his damned feelings. And about how that all seemed to simmer along the edges of his mind constantly. No matter how he tried to ignore it.

"Get anything new or are the choices the same as last time?" He couldn't say anything that was on his mind currently. That would have been too awkward. So maybe tv was the only free out, because they both already knew that that was the regular thing on date night. They still went out and did other things, but tv was sort of the easiest way to wind down on any given night. And there was always something new on when something fell down to Pandora full of dvds or the like.

"Because I honestly don't remember the list." So something new would be easier on both of them, though Wolfgang had thrown his hands up slightly and had a sheepish smile on his lips while he said it. It was more of a joke but a bit of the truth. He couldn't remember things like that.

Niggling in the back of her mind was the sensation she received of his feelings through the Force, different than normal enough that it was a little harder to ignore it. Again she couldn't help but feel like something was going on with his thoughts, that he was distracted by something, but she couldn't work it out at all.

Nor was it any of her business, she reminded herself firmly as she once again pushed her sense of him away. Once she would have hungrily taken in everything she could feel of him, to know what he was feeling - and in fact, she had, back in the early days of their interactions when they had done little more than fall into bed together - but for a long time now she had been determined to give him the privacy. That wasn't to say she wasn't curious, of course.

Ignoring it all, she just kept hold of Wolfgang's warm hand as she led the way back onto the deck and across to the mess room and its curved, comfortable couches. "Same as last time, sorry," she said, with a light laugh. "You know it's your job to deal with the movies on here." She really didn't care what they watched. Movies had really only ever been an excuse to sit next to him, the space between them slowly getting lesser and lesser through the months they had known each other. It felt like only yesterday that things had progressed to them watching movies in more intimate positions.

Once they entered the room, she left him to deal with the tv and the movies and headed towards the fridge she'd installed into the side of the room for convenience. Easier than heading down to the tiny galley on the bottom deck. Next to it was a cupboard that held their usual movie snacks. Pulling open the fridge door, she removed two bottles of beer and then grabbed a packet of chips from the snack cupboard.

She made her way back to the couch, tossing one of the bottles at him as she passed him, and then flopped down onto the couch in a way that held none of her usual Force user's grace. "Decided yet, Movie Master?" she teased, settling herself down into the cushions and putting her feet up onto the deactivated dejarik board, kicking her shoes off so they thumped down onto the plasteel floor.

There was a lot to consider now that he realized that he was in love with Jaesa. It was complicated and it was going to be overwhelming. As long as Wolfgang could keep himself distracted long enough then he wouldn't have to think about it. At least not until he got back home to his own apartment and he was home alone. Because then he was allowed to panic and freak out a little bit. Where Jaesa couldn't see it. Because it wasn't anything she needed to concern himself over. After all Wolfgang knew what she felt. He knew that she would likely like to know that he felt the same.

But he wasn't able to talk about it. This was the way all serious things seemed to go with him. He had sudden realizations and then took forever to come to terms with them. If Wolfgang had to confront them sooner then things all went to shit. Thus had been the way when Jaesa had confronted him about their relationship back on Valentine's day. A day that he had been comfortable with in a chill sort of manner before the serious conversation had started. A large step in the right direction for him but not what Jaesa needed at the time.

That was the big thing that Wolfgang had to get over. His own fears and past crippled him emotionally. It was hard to open up to Jaesa and consider what his girlfriend needed when he was choked with his past. He had to consider her. He had to put her above those fears. It was difficult to figure out but if he loved her... and he did love her. He loved her fiercely. Funny how one realization could change his entire world.

Except that he had been lost in his thoughts the entire time that Jaesa had been looking for snacks. He still had the remote in hand but the blond hadn't gotten anywhere past that point. "Um. No." Wolfgang chuckled sheepishly even as Jaesa took a seat beside him. "Sidetracked." One hand lifted to gesture to his head, not that he meant anything serious about it, but he had gotten distracted. He just hoped she wouldn't ask what about.

"I'm sure there's something we haven't watched yet." Most of them were romances or things of that nature, but Wolfgang could manage anything tonight. It wasn't like he'd be paying much attention to it. So the thief scrolled through a few things before picking something new almost at random. Smiling slightly and settling onto the couch with his girlfriend, trying to remind himself that it was normal to fall in love. Most people did it. He just hadn't been expecting it for himself yet.

There was a sheepish quality to his chuckle and his admission that he hadn't actually managed to choose a movie at all. When he motioned to his head and indicated that he'd been lost in thought, she cocked her own head a little as she looked at him, toying with the idea of asking just what had been on his mind the past ten or so minutes. It wasn't really like him to get so deep in thought that he completely forgot to choose a movie to watch. And they had been a little more open with communication since they had been... dating.

But she opted not to ask. If it was something he wanted to tell her, he would have. She wasn't entirely sure what to think about him not doing so, but she tried not to let old fears and paranoia resurface where - and when - they definitely weren't wanted.

So instead she cracked open the lid of her beer, before setting it on the game board and then cracking open his as well, and then opening the bag of chips and sitting it between them so they could easily grab some whenever they wanted. "You had one job," she teased. She didn't pay much attention to her boyfriend scrolling through the movies, barely even noticing what he settled on. Instead, she just leaned into his chest, wiggling her toes a little where her feet were up on the dejarik table.

She was, after months of dating, far more comfortable with cuddling up to Wolfgang than she'd been once. The way they watched movies had seemed to be constant, slow progression, from watching while seated completely separate from each other - yet still quite often finding ways to distract each other from the TV - to moving steadily and steadily closer. Actually cuddling while watching movies wasn't something that had happened so naturally and comfortably until their relationship had settled into romantic, but she couldn't even imagine being seated apart from him now, at least where TV was involved.

It didn't take long after the film started before Jaesa realised that he'd randomly picked a sappy romance, which made her wrinkle her nose. She was more of an action girl. However much she liked to cuddle with him on the couch, she preferred to do so while watching exciting movies full of explosions and car chases, or dogfights. Or dogfights in space. In all their time together they had managed to avoid watching a romance. Until now.

She felt her attention quickly wavering, her thoughts settling more on the man beside her, as she finished off her beer, using the Force to pull it to her from the game board every time she wanted to take a swig. She worked a lot, and hard, so she could afford to be lazy when she got time to herself.

Getting comfortable and cozy with Jaesa was something that Wolfgang was starting to like. Not that he had ever disliked it before but he was becoming more comfortable with it as time passed. Becoming more comfortable with... all of this. Being alone with her for long stretches of time that had no purpose. Not sex. Not physical affection. It was all becoming emotional without the thief realizing it. Comfortable around her in a way that he wasn't with anyone else. Except Felix. Except that had no cuddling or touching of this sort. Nothing that personal. But he had been able to be around his life long best friend without any anxiety or stress. Without worrying or thinking about it.

He felt that way around Jaesa. There wasn't any explanation to it. No way for Wolfgang to ever put that emotion in words. The real name was swirling around in the back of his mind though. Like he wanted to put it to words but he was afraid to actually speak it. Not comfortable with the idea enough to voice it. Fuck if he knew how to handle that. Fuck if he even understood it at all. All these emotions and the depths of them were so new to the thief that he felt a little choked by him.

But it was alright. Jaesa didn't know what he was thinking. Didn't know the things lurking in his mind. Wolfgang had no clue that she might have been able to feel his emotions or anything of that nature. She didn't have to worry about or be concerned about it. The dark haired woman had never told him that she wanted anything more than what they had. For all Wolfgang knew this was exactly the sort of thing that she wanted. Nothing less and nothing more. And until he decided he did want more he was going to bring it up.

Instead of concentrating on that or the film though, Wolfgang was watching Jaesa out of the corner of the eye instead. Watching that beer bottle lift up from the table all by itself and float over to her so she didn't have to move from where she was seated. Snuggled next to him. All warm and comfortable in a way that made him feel like not moving either.

Except there was only one thing to do really. He didn't want to watch the film. He didn't want to do anything but be with her. Really be with her. So Wolfgang leaned down softly and kissed her. He had figured he wanted to do that and once he had figured out that, he went for it. Maybe once he had made up his mind in another way, he'd figure out what to do then. That was for the best, really.

The sole reason the movie was even staying on the TV at all was because 'watching' it meant sitting snuggled up with Wolfgang. If she'd been alone, she wouldn't have had it on at all. As it was, she couldn't really concentrate on it. Sappy romance wasn't her thing at all and she was pretty sure this one was probably even more garbage than the genre typically was.

It was so terrible that it was actually really quite difficult not to stop her attention from wavering from the movie to the man next to her - more specifically, his emotional state which was still fluctuating in strange ways that weren't quite what she'd come to expect from him. She didn't like spying on how he was feeling and so she tried to keep her eyes on the screen instead of on him, as though she could will herself to enjoy the movie and stop sensing Wolfgang's unusual emotional state, wondering why he was feeling so different so suddenly.

She'd just sent her bottle floating back to the game board in front of them when she felt Wolfgang shifting a little next to her. Expecting that he was about to reach for the bag of chips they'd been sharing, she turned a bit where she lounged to hold them out for him, looking up at him with a smile as she did so, only for him to lean down and, rather than take the chips, kiss her.

Jaesa always found it remarkable that it didn't seem to matter how many times they kissed. It always gave her the same kind of sensation, like sparks running across her skin, and always made her toes curl up. She could never tire of it. Leaning up into the kiss, she returned it with plenty of her usual enthusiasm, the hand that had hold of the bag of chips sending them also floating over to the board to sit next to her beer before it lay upon his chest.

Pulling back after a few seconds, she let out a soft laugh, glancing at the TV and the movie playing on it. The main woman was saying something nauseatingly sweet to the man right at that moment, both of them standing in the pouring rain as though that wasn't uncomfortable and cold. "Take it you're hating the movie as much as I am," she said with a grin.

Sometimes his favorite moments were just on the couch. Snuggled up with his girlfriend without paying too much attention to what was actually on the screen. Or maybe not worry too much about what was going on between them. To just be comfortable. To relax. And that was the entire point of this. He just wanted to be comfortable in his own skin around someone. Jaesa just happened to be that person.

So he could relax a little bit. And then he could unwind a little bit more. Then any sort of uncomfortable thoughts just slid away. Whether it was because of work or because he felt too tense at his own emotions, none of it mattered. Everything was good in the world. Or in space. Or whatever. None of those details mattered. All that mattered was the fact that they were comfortable in their own skin around each other. It was something that Wolfgang... treasured.

Which was an odd word. There were so few things in his life that he felt that way about. Felix, understandably. His skills with lock picking. Keeping his friends safe. Glenn had been on the way to that before... well, that didn't matter anymore. But Jaesa was the newest addition to the list and she was firmly in that spot. He just didn't think about it too hard and took the snacks that the dark haired woman offered him. That his girlfriend offered to him.

Wolfgang's relaxed smile twisted into a bit of a smirk when Jaesa asked him the question about the drama. "I'm watching it ironically." It was easier to watch something bad when you could make fun of it. Wolfgang could watch just about anything with that view in mind though, even if he wasn't paying attention to it all. "It's ridiculous and normal people don't act like this. Obviously it's a sarcastic comedy making fun of other types of media." It wasn't, but it was fun to think of it in that manner. After all who could have acted out such a scene?
