    18th August
It all happened so fast, she barely managed to process it. One second there was a menacing black vine wrapping around her waist, another there was darkness swallowing her whole, but to Papika's relief, the darkness immediately disappeared in another second.

    What is…this place?

She looked around. There were tables, as close to each other as possible, leaving only a few thin passages here and there. At the tables she could see people, some were chit-chatting, some were paying all their attention to the food on their plate but she also noticed a few who were staring at her.

"This…is this a restaurant?" She murmured under her breath and then she noticed her clothes. In the Pure Illusion just a while ago, she had been wearing a swimsuit but that wasn't the case anymore. Now she was dressed in her school uniform, consisting of a blue skirt and a white shirt with a red bow. (She was used to the Pure Illusion switching her clothes as it pleased, but she didn't mind, when she found the way out she always got her school uniform back anyway.)

Where are Cocona and Yayaka? She thought, remembering her two friends who had been with her before she disappeared.

"Pyu?" A familiar voice queried from behind her.
"Bu-chan!" Papika's face immediately lit up with a grin. She spun to face him and then knelt down so that she was on his eye-level.
    "Bu-chan, you're here too!"
    "Pyu!" The robot affirmed proudly.
    "Is this another Pure Illusion?"
He shook his yellow rectangular head.
"Then where are we?" Papika asked, tilting her head, more confused than before.
The robot shrugged his metal claws and Papika sighed and decided to inspect her surroundings once again.

    Where are Cocona and Yayaka?

At that moment an idea popped up in her head.
Papika stood up and began sniffing around herself. She noticed that people were staring at her, as if she had lost her mind, but people had stared at her that way many times before and it never bothered her (and it never will). Her enhanced sense of smell would normally be able to pick up much more, but at that time it was hindered by the many meals around her. Fried steaks of juicy meat, the delicious smell of a recently baked pizza and many others.

    This won't work...

She grabbed the nearest chair, hopped on top and started screaming at the top of her lungs.
"Cocona! Yayaka! Cocona! Yayaka! Can you hear me? "
As soon as she began calling her friends, Bu-chan started waving his claws disapprovingly, hoping that she will stop, but as expected it had no effect on Papika.

It wasn't often that Robin ate at a restaurant instead of having something small at home, but recent events had left her in a rather good mood. A good enough mood to be willing to spend a little bit extra on her meals than normal, at least. Though she had yet to meet back up with the one who had put her into such a happy mindset, the joy had enough inertia to carry the mechanic forward for a while.

She was sitting at a table, drinking a soda and waiting for her food, when a small commotion began. A blink, lasting only a brief moment, as she was looking around the room idly revealed something odd. While she was unsure if it was just her imagination, it seemed to her as if a girl had just appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the building... as well as some strange machine that her mechanically inclined mind was very interested in.

Whether she had been there a moment ago or not, this strange girl definitely seemed out of sorts. Looking around frantically and sniffing about definitely were not the actions of a normal individual in a normal situation. Robin was staring at her, wondering if she should do anything, when the girl suddenly climbed onto a chair right next to her and began yelling what were presumably names.

People were starting to stare, understandably so, and that didn't make the mechanic feel very comfortable. She couldn't just say something, though, not in this situation, as her throat wasn't so good at forcing out words on demand. Without thinking about it, the mechanic reached up her hand and grabbed the girl's arm, before giving it a little tug to get her attention. When the girl would look at her, she'd force out the words "You lost?" in a very awkward tone.

"Cocona! Yayaka! Coco-" Papika's shouting was cut short when she felt a tug at her arm. She looked down to see a girl, probably a few years older than her. Bu-chan reacted before she did.
"Pyu?" Bu-chan's only eye zoomed in on the girl and the robot tilted his head in apparent surprise.
"Yes, I am." Papika answered the girl's question and jumped down from the chair. She didn't mind the girl's tone; she isn't one to judge people.
She looked at the girl and smiled with one of her warm welcoming smiles, which she had a full sleeve of (but all of them were genuine, because she didn't have a single clue how to fake her expressions).

"Do you know what is this place?" She asked with her lips still quirked into her iconic smile.

She was glad that she managed to make contact with someone in this…dimension/world whatever it was. In Pure Illusion, most of the people she encountered weren't well… people, mostly they were creatures of various shapes and colors (needless to say they often wanted to fight her if not straight up kill her), usually capable of saying a couple of phrases. As she was thinking about it, a realization hit her.

So this really isn't Pure Illusion…

However from the little that Papika has seen of this girl, she seemed friendly, a bit shy maybe but still friendly. And so Papika decided to introduce herself.
"By the way I'm Papika!" Her thin lips quirked into a cheerful, but harmless grin and she outstretched her hand waiting for the girl to shake it. "Nice to meet you!"
    "Pyu! Pyu, pyu, pyu!"
Bu-chan extended his claw and started tugging gently but still urgently at the hem of Papika's white shirt.
"What is it Bu-chan?" Papika tilted her head. Sometimes she wished that the robot could talk normally, instead of just the "Pyu" sound or small screen on his head, which could fit only one kanji.
"Pyu!" The robot pointed at himself with one of his claws. Papika remained confused for another second, before the realization finally hit her. She smacked her forehead when she realized.
"Oh right! I forgot to introduce you! Sorry, Bu-chan!" She apologized to him and turned to her new friend to correct the mistake.
"This is TT-392, but everyone calls him Bu-chan. He is a robot from Flip Flap." She said with one hand pointed at him.
Bu-chan waved one of his claws at the girl, as if to say: Hi!

Well, Robin had succeeded in getting the girl's attention, and also had gotten a clear response to her question. But before the mechanic could even begin to force herself to speak again, the stranger launched into introducing herself. This was going a lot quicker than she was comfortable with. In a bit of a daze as she tried to put together what she wanted to say, Robin awkwardly accepted the handshake.

"...I'm Robin," she introduced herself after an uncomfortably long silence following Papika's own introduction. Now that she knew what was going on, Robin felt like she really wasn't suited to give an explanation. For one thing, she was bad at actually talking. When you couldn't will yourself to speak more than absolutely necessary, long winded explanations became nigh impossible.

Still, she'd do her best. Leaving someone who was surely confused and alone without even trying to help went against everything Robin stood for, after all! "Not your world... This is Pandora," the mechanic managed to say, clearly struggling to spit out the words. The robot, Bu-chan, was also pretty distracting. The design both piqued her curiosity and brought up some bad memories. "Friends aren't here... probably," she added, remembering that Papika was calling out someone's names.

"Nice to meet you!" Papika replied cheerfully, completely ignoring the fact the she was repeating herself.
"Pa-padora?" Papika tried saying the name after the girl.
"Pyu!" Bu-chan admonished her and the letter N flashed on the screen on his head.
"P-pandora? " Papika tried it again.
    This time Bu-chan nodded approvingly.

So we really got transported into another world...

She didn't mind the girl’s obvious shyness, Papika's best friend Cocona, with whom she spent the most time with, was just like that. And what's more, Papika was usually so extroverted and outgoing that everyone around seemed timid next to her. Right now however her vigor was hindered by the fact that she found herself in a completely new world. This was different than Pure Illusion. It is true that in Pure Illusion she never knew what was coming at her (because Pure Illusion resembled a dream more than anything else), but she always knew that once she found a way out, she was safe and sound.

"Do you know how do we get home?" Papika asked this time only one question since she sensed the girl's uneasiness and decided not to make the girl uncomfortable anymore by bombarding her with multiple questions. It wasn't her first time she had to adjust her enthusiasm in order to not make the other person uneasy. With Cocona it was exactly the same.

This really wasn't the type of thing Robin was cut out for. She was a mechanic, not a welcome wagon! So she knew that no matter what she said there would be more questions to follow. No one even helped her out when she first arrived, so she had to figure things out on her own. In short, she really was incredibly unqualified to explain this.

And the real problem was that Papika was so earnest about this. It made Robin feel bad about shooting down her hopes. But someone needed to do it. "Waiting..." she replied. "People come and go... randomly. Might be days... months... longer even?" That was the scary truth of the matter. No control over it meant that she could find herself home at a moment's notice... and that promised to be bad.

    "So we wait and hope."

"Waiting?" She repeated the word after Robin, confused not just because she at first didn't understand what Robin meant, but also because waiting was never one of her strong points and usually she was quite impatient.

"Eeeeehh???" Papika reacted so loudly to the notion of people disappearing randomly, it made Bu-chan jump up a bit and of course a couple of heads in the restaurant whipped in her direction. But Papika (as always) stayed completely oblivious.

Bu-chan however didn't like the attention they were receiving; it was unnerving him a lit to be honest. After scanning the room with his only eye and making sure no one was going to hurt them or scold them he pinched Papika in her calf. Papika just gave him one brief glance before returning to the subject at hand.

"Days? Months?" She murmured under her breath more to herself than anyone else (this time obeying Bu-chan), trying to think of a course of action. She rarely took longer than five seconds to decide, but she had never been transported to a completely different world completely by herself (she did have Bu-chan here with her but he was just a robot after all, although capable of communicating to some degree, still couldn't replace an ordinary human companion) .

A wide smile spread across her face and her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm again when she got an idea, that she considered fantastic (to Papika all ideas seemed fantastic, so this was nothing out of the ordinary).

"Do you think you could show me around, please?" Papika's face quirked into her genuine trademark grin, trying to plead with Robin. If she was going to be stuck in this world for some time, she could at least make friends here and learn something about this world. Even though she didn't want to admit it at first, she was beginning to feel curious.

An over the top reaction, to be sure, but not an unexpected one. Robin was devastated, personally, to discover she couldn't just go home, but Papika was younger than her. Maybe youth made it easier to cope with this sort of thing? It didn't particularly matter, but the mechanic found it fascinating to see someone else's reaction to the news. This was her first time talking to a new arrival, after all.

Really, though, Papika bounced back quickly. No sooner had she processed the explanation than the girl decided that she'd like to be shown around. Reminded the mechanic a bit of herself, back when she was younger. Just someone who could stay happy and optimistic in any given circumstance, like a human sunflower.

"Um... well, I..." she sputtered out in response. Robin still was waiting for her food to arrive... but she also wanted to help out. It could be said that she was one of those rare individuals who were actually too helpful for their own good. "...OK," she acquiesced. Her food was already paid for, there was nothing chaining her here. Wouldn't be the first time she skipped lunch, anyways... yeah, this was all just her flimsily justifying putting her own needs aside to help someone else.

Robin got out of her seat and went towards the exit. Seemed like she would now become the world's most taciturn tour guide. "River Street," she told Papika once they were outside, introducing her to the area they were in. "One district of six in Pandora Town. Lots of shops and cafes..." Good lord, she was bad at this. But what could one expect from someone terrible with speaking?

It wasn't that Papika would forget about her two friends so quickly and so easily, no. They were her friends still and she didn't forget about them, no. It was just that after spending a lot of time in Pure Illusion, a parallel world, which shifted and twisted and turned as it pleased, whenever it pleased she became…flexible. Perhaps a bit too much from a certain point of view. In the past she would have searched around until she found them and she would have been miserable if she failed to do so.
But her journeys have taught her to be patient and to not lose hope in situations, where she had no idea what to expect.
Long story short - she wasn't forgetting them or cutting herself off, she was simply-for the lack of better terms - waiting and hoping for the best.

Papika followed suit behind Robin with her silver hover board, which had been lying on the floor, now tucked under her arm. Her hover board was like another limb to her, whenever she needed to get somewhere fast, she would simply hop on it and glide off wherever she needed to be. Throughout the years she learned to fly it so well that it was hard if not straight up impossible to knock her off of it. This ability had served her well both in the real world and in Pure Illusion.
As they left the restaurant, she did her best to listen to what Robin was saying, not judging her not pressuring her, trying to just smile, listen and make Robin feel comfortable.

    What is this?

Suddenly a smell entered her nostrils. A very tempting, sweet delicious aroma. She stopped and started sniffing around herself, to pinpoint the direction, which the smell was coming from.

"Can you smell it too?" Papika asked, aware of the fact that her sense of smell is increased, but she forgot that to wait for an answer.

"It smells so nice." She remarked and started walking in the direction of said scent, this time her pace was faster than before with Robin.

"Pyu!" Bu-chan voiced his opinion and the kanji for "Wait" appeared on his screen, but at that time Papika was already heading towards the scent and Bu-chan's only option was to follow.

Robin briefly wondered what the object Papika picked up was. Bu-chan's existence made the mechanic certain that Papika could have all manner of interesting technology with her. A friendly robot was a pretty advanced piece of tech, after all. Maybe not as advanced as the machines back home, but this one wasn't trying to kill her so she'd take it over those machines.

She might have even described the board in her new acquaintances arms to be bulky and cumbersome to carry around, if not for the fact that Robin herself carried a wrench half her size everywhere. Moving on from that, she was glad that her rather lackluster descriptions were being accepted. "Don't really know River Street well," Robin offered lamely as an explanation for her lack of detail. "Live in Tavoie Borough."

Strangely enough, Papika began to sniff at the air. She vaguely remembered the girl doing that in the restaurant earlier, though she still didn't quite get why. "No?" she replied confusedly, having smelled nothing interesting. Before she could ask further, Papika had already started walking away.

Hurriedly changing direction to follow her, Robin wondered what this was all about. "Normally go wherever your nose tells you?" she asked curiously. It sounded like a dangerously impulsive way to live to her. Only things the mechanic could think of that would smell good would be food or flowers, though only the former was incredibly common in this district. Or maybe... yep, there it was!

Illegally Sweet, a bakery. They had some good treats there, in Robin's opinion. Getting dragged to a bakery by a hyper teen wasn't something she had expected today, but she'd accept it. Wasn't like she actually got to eat anything earlier, so maybe she could get something that would tide her over until dinner. An unhealthy lunch for sure, but Robin didn't care.

When she heard Robin's question she slowed down a bit in order to allow the other girl to catch up with her. She scratched her chin in thought and then beamed with a certain answer:

"Yea! You don't?" She asked tilting her head slightly as if following your nose was the most natural thing in the entire world. For Papika it WAS the most natural thing in the world. She always danced (sometimes literally) as her whims and impulses sang. She trusted her impulses above anything, and even though it more often than not got her into trouble, she didn't see trouble as trouble. To her any new obstacle meant an adventure, just like right now, when she was following the delicious smell.

"There it is!" She exclaimed happily and pointed at the source of the sweet smell, when they finally reached it. She scanned the object from roof to bottom. It was a smaller building, but from the outside it looked very neat and cute. On top of the doorway, there were some strange symbols, but before Papika could start speculating about them, Bu-chan finally caught up to them.

"Pyu." He made his iconic sound and the kanji for bakery appeared on his screen. A huge grin lit up Papika's face and she turned to Robin, completely ignoring Bu-chan.

"Shall we go inside?" She asked, and a moment afterwards her belly churned with hunger.

When was the last time I ate?

She certainly didn't eat anything in the Pure Illusion she had been in before she came to Pandora. Not that she had never eaten anything in the Pure Illusion, when she was out there and she got hungry she ate whatever she could. It's just that in her last one, she was in a cyberpunk-like city, with not much to eat.

"Sorry!" She apologized and grinned again.

"Not really," she replied. "Doesn't end well when I do what I want." Robin couldn't help but let her issues leak into conversation, no matter how much she tried. Still, the mechanic had at least enough self awareness to not go and try off loading a bunch of depressing details onto a 14 year old girl.

More importantly, they were at a bakery now. Robin doubted that her new acquaintance would have any cash to pay, though. She went in with Papika. "You don't have money..." she pointed out. No way she'd have any Pandoran currency right now, after all. "...I'll pay for both of us." Too nice for her own good. really.

"So... what's that?" she inquired as they waited on the short line, gesturing to the hoverboard Papika held.

"What do you mean?" Papika asked, tilting her confusedly, but when she noticed that Robin didn't want to talk about it, she decided not to press further. She remembered how Cocona acted, whenever she didn't feel like talking about something (and Papika ended up being scolded a couple of times by her, before she finally started picking up the hints).

"Thank you! I will return it as soon as I can" she promised earnestly and gave a warm ear-to-ear smile.

When Robin asked about the hoverboard, Papika turned to face her.

"This?" Papika looked at her hover board, that she was still holding, tucked under her arm as it was a part of her. In sense it was, or it certainly looked like that and felt like that whenever she was in the air. Her hover board was like an extension of her, extension that enabled her to fly.

"It's my hover board." Papika replied, proudly looking at aforementioned object and decided to talk a bit more about it.
"I got it from Hidaka, a scientist at Flip Flap. " she explained, although it was a sufficient explanation only for her. Hidaka and his assistant were the main scientists at Flip Flap, they were in charge of all the expeditions into the Pure Illusion and Hidaka was the creator of Bu-chan.

"Pyu!" Bu-chan added proudly, pointing his two claws at himself.

"Oh, that's right! Bu-chan is from Flip Flap too." She explained the robot's enthusiasm. He was always excited when someone mentioned the name of his creator and he loved being in his company.

"Don't bother... call it a gift," Robin shot back hurriedly. She didn't want anyone to feel indebted to her, especially not for something as simple as buying them food from a bakery. "Have enough money." She was used to living frugally enough that her relatively small wages as a mechanic could be stretched pretty far.

Some people might have batted an eye at a scientist working for something with as silly a name as Flip Flap. But it really wasn't much worse than calling a government One Concern, so Robin wasn't really fazed. "So you can fly on it?" she asked. "Sounds like it would be hard to use well..." That sounded stupid coming from a girl who scaled buildings using nothing but a wrench.

Crazy inventions and odd machines were basically a way of life for Robin anyways. With her own illegal work as a privately practicing mechanic and her brother Elro's job as one of the top chemists for the One Concern, it would have been a miracle to avoid seeing things stranger than a flying board and a smart machine... even if the machine was still unnerving her. "So... what is Flip Flap?" she asked, trying to continue the conversation.

The line at the bakery had moved fairly quickly, and soon enough the two had reached the front. The cashier looked at them questioningly, waiting for them to say what they wanted. Rather than speak, which she could barely do at all to strangers, Robin pointed to a blueberry muffin. "Choose whatever," she told Papika, as Robin dug through her bag to get some money out.

"Yes, I can. I don't know how it works but it somehow does." Papika smiled and answered Robin's question about her hoverboard. Papika never thought too much about how or why the hoverboard was functioning, she just used it to fly wherever she needed and as long as it worked she was happy. Only on one occasion when it broke did she bring it to Hidaka to fix it. He started mumbling some technical terms under his breath, which Papika didn't understand, so she just stood back and let him do his work. With Bu-chan it was the same, Papika had no idea how it was possible that the robot was so intelligent, sometimes even showed emotions and for some reason was perverted.
Well, she has known for a long time that technology wasn't her thing, but luckily in the past she always had Hidaka and his assistant around her.

"Flying is not hard at all." Papika remarked. Flying to her was a second nature and she loved the feel of it. She loved the freedom to go wherever she wanted and the wind disheveling her hair.

"If you want, I can teach you how to fly!" She offered with her trademark grin and she meant it seriously, completely oblivious to the fact that some people may be scared of heights.

When Robin asked about Flip Flap, Papika scratched her chin and seriously pondered the question. Of course she knew what Flip Flap was; it was just that she never had to explain to anyone, not even to Cocona because Salt and Hidaka explained everything for her.
"It's an organization…that travels to the Pure Illusion and collects Amorpouses. If someone could collect all of those Amorphouses, they could make any wish they had, come true." She basically repeated what Dr. Salt told her when she joined Flip Flap. She never questioned the explanation, mainly because she was very young and also because fulfilling her wishes wasn't why she was in Flip Flap. She was there for the fun with her friends (although the fun was more often than not life-threatening, but luckily for her Papika was oblivious to danger) and the rush and excitement that the Pure Illusion meant for her.

When they reached the front and after Robin had ordered Papika leans closer to the glass, so close that she practically pressed her nose against the glass.

"Hmmmm." She hummed as she thought about what she would order; ignoring the cashier's more and more impatient look.
"I'll have that one, please!" She pointed at a piece of carrot cake and grinned at the cashier.

Figures she wouldn't know how it worked. If people understood what they used normally than people like her would be in far less demand. Mechanics were only worth something when people couldn't fix things themselves. Robin would like to get a look at the inner working of the board and Bu-chan, though. Must have been some fascinating machinery at work there!

"Don't need to fly," she replied with a shrug. "Can get anywhere I want with my feet and wrench." It was a curious talent she had, using a giant wrench to scale buildings and cross chasms, but it was a genuine skill in her eyes. She'd carry the wrench with her at all times anyways, so it paid to get more use out of it.

The explanation on Flip Flap was... sorely lacking. Too many terms that meant nothing to Robin. "Sounds too good to be true," the mechanic noted bluntly. "But if it works than that sounds impressive." Getting a wish granted would be fantastic, something she'd do anything for, but it was kind of hard to believe. "What would they even want to do with that?" An organization dedicated to gathering wish granting items had to have a wish in mind, right?

Robin hurriedly dug through her pockets for some cash and handed over payment to the cashier. Though obviously irritated by how long they took, the woman behind the counter wordlessly gave them their selected pastries.

Papika tilted her head, when hearing about the wrench. She didn't completely understand and that made her curiosity skyrocket as always, since Papika was naturally curious about pretty much everything.
"How do you use the wrench to move?" Her eyes grew slowly wide with curiosity.

Papika's chaotic and way too brief explanations were one of her bad qualities. The worst thing was that mostly she didn't even realize it and just assumed that everyone could see into her head.

She paused when asked about the goal of Flip Flap. She never really pondered much about it. She didn't join Flip Flap because she wanted her wish fulfilled, truth be told if Papika had gotten a chance to have her wish fulfilled at that time, she probably wouldn't know what to wish for. If she got a chance to have her wish fulfilled now however, she would know what to wish for. She would wish either to return home or at least to see that Cocona and Yayaka are safe and sound.

Or perhaps have both of them meet with Robin! She grinned happily as she thought of that.

Or maybe Robin could go to the Pure Illusion with us!

It took her a while, before she realized that she was supposed to answer a question.

"It sounds really impressive, but… I don't know what people at Flip Flap wanted it for. No one ever told me…but I don’t think it was for something bad. Dr. Salt, the leader of Flip Flap, he was a good person, I am sure of that." She admitted honestly. Papika didn't join Flip Flap because of a wish that she wanted fulfilled but because she was hungry for adventure, adventure that only the Pure Illusion could offer. As for Dr. Salt, she had a feeling that she had learned enough about him to make such statement.

It wasn't really to hard to explain what she used the wrench for. "Well, I'm good at latching onto things with the wrench head," Robin explained. "It's easy once you get the hang of it, I think. And then I just use that to swing around places or get to higher ground." She pulled the giant wrench off her back and spun the end of it around. Sparks of electricity began to fly from the tool. "It's also an electric wrench. Latch onto power lines, the current drags it forward. Let's me move quickly."

There was almost an art to how she could navigate her environment. Mechanics didn't get enough respect in Pandora! Back home people saw it as impressive, something with a lot of potential. No one would have found it strange that she could do all this there. It wasn't in Robin's nature to be arrogant, but she was genuinely proud of her job.

There was a small part of the mechanic that wanted to respond to Papika cynically. Tell her something about how an organization was bound to have corrupt members, no matter what the person in charge was like. Maybe even suggest that she was just wrong about this Dr. Salt. But that was her bias speaking. Even if it did sound fishy, it wasn't like it mattered at this point. No reason to try bringing down such an energetic girl's mood for some baseless suspicion.

"Always good to know why we do things," she responded, opting for a less aggressive topic. "Even if wasn't anything special they should've told you." That was her own experience talking. Just doing what seemed right without knowing the full picture wasn't smart, even if it changed nothing. "But you were happy there? Doesn't matter then."

The way Robin described her use of wrench fascinated Papika, it seemed like an adventure and it wouldn't be Papika if she passed an opportunity to have one. "Wait, how? Do you fly on it the way I do on my hoverboard?"
In Papika's mind there was a picture of a gigantic wrench that could be used as an aircraft.

"I guess they should have." She murmured. She never really thought about it and she had to admit that Robin was right, but there was some illogical part of her mind that wanted to defend Dr. Salt and the rest of Flip Flap.

"Yes, I was happy there." Papika admitted. Despite Flip Flap's many flaws and mistakes, Papika was genuinely happy there. She had been very young when she joined Flip Flap and so she never questioned, never even tried to second guess the people of the organization. And since Papika never had a family before Flip Flap, not even anything remotely close to it, Flip Flap became like one to her. They were always there when she needed them: Hidaka with his weird theatrics, Dr. Salt with his cold and aloof demeanor (but his walls occasionally let through a tiny beam of warmth and Papika always noticed) and Sayuri, who was something akin to an older sister to Papika.

Those three made her family (albeit a strange one).

And of course exploring the Pure Illusion was an adventure that Papika loved more than anything.
Therefore whenever something that didn't make sense or sounded suspicious came up, she just ignored it.

"They…they were like my family, the only family I ever had. Before joining Flip Flap I was an orphan. I didn't have anyone." She mused. "What about you? Did you have a family?" Papika tried to switch the topic from her, hoping that she didn't make Robin feel bad.

"I just... It's hard to explain. Easier if I just demonstrate, but Pandora doesn't have as many good spots for it. Definitely not flying, though," Robin explained. How could she just put into words the incredible feat of dexterity required to use a giant wrench for assisted parkour? "It's like... I can jump pretty high to start with. So I jump, loosen the wrench, swing it at something it can latch onto, and tighten it... all in a second or two. And then I use it to swing to another spot where I can latch on."

Her natural distrust of authority was bringing down the mood. She was an iconoclast, plain and simple. The sort of person who questioned anything that was established as normal. It was clear that Papika cared about these people, and here Robin was poking at her feelings with a stick. Kind of an awful thing to do to someone freshly torn away from their family. The mechanic decided that was enough of that.

But Papika asked Robin the one thing she couldn't answer happily. "I... I had one..." she answered, the words spilling out. "And they were wonderful..." They were. But, like so many things in her life, they hadn't stayed that way. It was hard to reconcile her smiling and supportive older brother with the one armed man consumed by revenge. "Let's not talk about that..."
