So I have Cyrus here, and the man is a scholar with a borderline obsession with learning as much as he can about everything, particularly history. He's also a damn strong mage on his own right, meaning he's very capable of defending himself from threats. Because of all this, he's setting out on a journey to learn as much as he can about Pandora and see if he can figure out some of the mysteries about it.

This would be more of an adventure centered plot than a character thing, but there's ofc plenty of room for some development to happen. Essentially, what I want is for Cyrus to go around, poking his head into all kinds of trouble, be it with other people or just the local wildlife, and meeting people along the way.

Here's some plot hooks that could help!
    • Cyrus has a habit of scrutinizing people. What that means is that he often starts asking questions uninvited and can be pretty nosy and pushy while doing so. Not everyone would be ok with this, so it would be fun to have someone tell him off for being too nosy, or maybe complying with his endless questions until they lose their patience with him.
    • He's also a naturally curious person, meaning that even though his goal is to learn more about Pandora itself, anything that catches his interest is fair game. Cyrus is gifted with a good deductive mind, meaning he can effectively do detective work all on his. He has a great eye for detail, and easily picks up on anything notable in a person's behavior, which can potentially lead into the point above.
    • This could be fun for worldbuilding purposes! Since Cyrus is going to be poking around everywhere, it opens room to make more use of some of Pandora's lesser used locations, just create something new for the purposes of a plot and develop it through threading!
    • Fellow travelers? Cyrus would enjoy having some company during his journey. No one is obligated to stay with him through the whole thing, but maybe they could temporarily tag along for their own purposes, whether good or bad.
    • Continuing from above, a pupil? Cyrus is a teacher and a skilled mage, so he could potentially fill the role of a mentor to a younger character. I wouldn't say he would be much of a father figure, necessarily, but he'd certainly care for anyone under his wing and do his best to provide guidance.
    • Any of the groups in Pandora, good or bad, could potentially find themselves with a scholar knocking at their door, particularly if they're trying to hide something or if they're the kind that would have a lot of rumors spread about them.
    • Cyrus is pretty curious about the Calamity! Characters who have been in Pandora for a long time could potentially have to deal with him asking about how Pandora used to be like and how it changed.
    • This is more of a sidenote, but Cyrus is a charming, eloquent man with a pretty face, so that could easily make him the target of flirting. Flirting that he, unfortunately (?) wouldn't pick up on. Anyone trying to make a move on him is going to be disappointed, which could be funny.
    • Magic and non-humans would naturally get his interest. Cyrus isn't used to people who aren't human, so he'd like to learn more about the various races in Pandora... which can also lead to him getting himself in trouble trying to gather more info. Similarly, other types of magic would get his interest, as his world is mainly focused on elemental magic. Anything that sounds "evil" would grab his interest as well, which would lead to him investigating and, again, likely land himself in trouble doing so.
    • Meeting other scholarly people would be interesting too! Anyone who would be interested in Cyrus' findings, or contribute to them. He could use some friends on the same field as him. Meeting other teachers would be great too!
This season, Cyrus is going to be mainly located in the Crystal Vales, but he'll eventually branch out to other regions. For now though, I'd like for him to stay there since this kind of journey takes time. It limits plotting a little, but if you can find a reason to have your character in the Vales, then meeting him should be fairly simple!

I’ve got two options for ya, Paarthurnax and Recette.

I’m sure Cyrus would love to interrogate Paarthurnax, and said dragon would be more than willing to indulge him for as long as he had questions.

And hey, Recette might be more interested in the treasure, but she’s always delving into dungeons and ruins too.

    Those are both good!

Dragons are exceedingly rare where Cyrus comes from and a dragon that can talk is something he's only heard about in legend. Actually meeting one would be very exciting for him. He actually does poke around the Schola a little because he's friends with Robin, so it should be pretty easy for them to meet!

As for Recette, she would likely remind him of his merchant friend, Tressa, except Recette's even younger. They even look similar. Them both poking around a cave or something and getting themselves in trouble sounds like fun!

Awesome! Paarthy is usually hanging out in the courtyard when not flying around, so it’d be pretty easy to stumble across him. He doesn’t have many winter threads, so just pick a day and he’ll almost certainly be free.

Wow, girls with short, brown hair just gotta be merchants, huh? She’s free any day other than Jan 12.
