Another contract, this time a little further away than most of the jobs he had taken so far, though 47 wasn't much of a strange to travel. The only problem an experienced assassin like him had encountered so far in this strange world of Pandora was that here, he did not have the backing of the ICA and that meant having to tough it out on his own. No intel, no safehouses, no go-between for his contracts and no Diana here to support him. That also meant that he had to build up his reputation among the criminal underground again as he couldn't rely on his legend helping the Agency find high paying work for him.

This time, Agent 47 had been given the mission to hunt down some kid who had been poking around where his nose didn't belong and pissed off the wrong people. Truthfully, even a merciless killer like him was disgusted by the idea of this job. After all, the target here was just some kid, barely old enough to even function in the world on his own, not someone who had a lot of experience in the world. He wasn't even a bad person. Yet there was no room for doubt here.

47 needed the money. The mysterious client offered him a lot of money and besides, it was this stupid kid's fault for getting involved in a world that he couldn't possibly understand. It wasn't like he ever generally knew the person he was working for anyway and that suited him just fine.

Arriving in a residential part of Morhall in early morning, 47 took a seat in a small pub nearby and took a look at the SD card that contained the information on his target that the client had given to him to refresh his memory of the details. On this card was the profile of his target, showcasing his picture and the name 'Tenya Iida'. A vigilante who targeted criminals by night, but by day he was a postman and right now his rounds took him around this area. The instructions were simple. Shoot the kid in the back of the head and leave a message that his client wasn't be to be trifled with to anyone else who wanted to cause them problems.

Other details included a GPS map of the area that would help him find his way around and a few notes on the target. Apparently this kid wasn't some nobody and while the client had no information on his background, he seemed to be some kind of superman. He was quick, he was strong and not to be underestimated.

With the information he needed, 47 picked up an newspaper whilst keeping an eye out nearby for when the target would pass by...

Today's mail route took him to Morhall, and while Tenya could run from Pandora Town to there in a couple of hours, it would be a large waste of his energy and time. Instead, he took the Magic Mirror system and ran around Morhall from that point on. Tenya was far from a slacker, but he was fine with working smarter and not harder. Efficiency was the key to a job well done, after all!

While he usually wore just his postman's outfit, he liked to put on his Ingenium armor when he left the city just in case he ran into some kind of danger. It was also great for cooling off his engines if he pushed them too far by accident. Right on time, a man in a set of white and blue gear jogged into view from Agent 47's position, a mail bag draped across his torso. His helmet obscured his face, but the files the client had given the assassin also had a picture of this particular set of armor, confirming it was in fact Tenya. He was currently knocking on a door with a package under his arm, waiting for someone to sign for it.

While 47 couldn't see his mark's face, the picture from his client had shown him the rather unique set of armour that he donned, making it likely that this was indeed the man he was searching for. How many other postmen were there wearing that sort of thing?

When Tenya knocked on the door, the assassin stood up from his seat and left a few coins on the table to pay for the trouble of having taken up their seat without ordering anything and to simply blend in with the other customers. "Thank you. Just wanted to read the morning paper." He explained to the bartender, who gave him a nod on the way out and Agent 47 made his way into the street. However, he did not approach the target yet. They were still in broad daylight and in the middle of the street and while the client hadn't paid him to be subtle in this job, 47 very much liked the idea of not being caught. That and he was currently making a delivery, killing him now at the very least would also mean that he would have to kill the customer and that would be much too messy for his liking.

All it would take was for the target to move somewhere a little more client and Mr. 47 would give him the kiss of death from his Silverballer.

"Wow, I thought it wouldn't get here until the afternoon!" the woman at the door said, inspecting her brown package for any tears or signs of damage.

"The Pandora Post Office should be known for quick and accurate delivery service!" Tenya said, emphasizing his words with his arm movements. "If you're not satisfied with how fast you receive orders, please do not be afraid to make an official complaint." The homeowner looked rather confused, but signed for her mail anyway.

"Um, sure, but I'm alright, really... Thank you anyway!" Tenya saluted he before jogging off down the road to the next house. The next address was on the street behind the first house, so it required cutting through a few small alleys, as Morhall was a bit more winding than most of the other settlements.

As 47 watched the exchange, he noticed the woman's surprised reaction at how early her package had arrived. Unfortunately for her, this would be the last time that she would ever be getting a speedy delivery...the postman was going to be permanently indisposed.

The exchange between postman and recepient hadn't been a terribly long one, so the contract killer hadn't had to wait long enough, giving him the time to look like he was just checking his watch as he stepped outside the bar. Doing this made most people that were walking passed at the time simply think that Mr. 47 was just some kind of businessman who was late for work and by the time they were around the corner from him, they had forgotten him almost as quickly as they had seen him. That was how he operated.

Conveniently, to get to his next delivery, his target had to head down some secluded alleys without any witnesses to get between him and his paycheck. Now was time to strike and send every would-be vigilante the message that his employer wanted to send anyone that was stupid enough to believe they could get away with interfering with business. 47 didn't know what exactly it was that his employer did, but it suited him quite well not to know.

Once they were comfortably down the alley, Tenya would hear the distinct sound of a gun cocking very close behind him.

The sound of a gun being prepped to fire was not unfamilair to Tenya, but he wished that it was. He paused in the alley, though he didn't turn around. Was someone trying to mug him for cash? Well, better him than another innocent person.

"...You do know that it's a serious crime to interfere with mail delivery, correct?" he said to no one in particular. His legs tensed. "I don't want any trouble."

Before he had a chance to fire, it seemed that his target had managed to become aware of his presence. It seemed his employer wasn't lying about how deceptively talented a young kid like this, not that it would matter as he would soon be some corpse found in the middle of an alleyway that would be written off as a gang shooting as long as he made it look right.

"Don't worry, Mr. Iida, this won't take long. I have a delivery for you." With that, he pulled back the hammer and prepared to take the shot. "It's nothing personal, I'm just doing my job."

Mr. Iida. This mugger knew his name, but how? And why? The gun cocked behind him, and Tenya got the idea that this wasn't just some thug trying to take his wallet. No, this was more serious. This man, for some undisclosed reason, wanted to kill him. His eyes widened from behind his helmet, but he kept mostly still.

"My apologies, but I can't let you do that. I have a name to carry on." In a sudden burst of sound, the exhaust pipes sticking out of the calves of his costume expelled flames. It turned out that they were very much not for show. "And that name..." He turned to face the would be assassin and pushed off towards him, rocketing forward as he pulled his fist back for a punch. "is Ingenium!" He would not die here, not today.

Just as the curtains were about to close on Tenya's life, something happened that 47 could not possibly have expected and to say that it took him off guard would be a gross understatement. Before he even had a chance to fire his shot, the kid pulled off some crazy stunt with that strange mechanical armour of his and managed to sock him good in the face. So, that magic armour of his was more than just for sure it seemed.

Though 47 didn't have time to admire the kid's equipment as he got knocked to the ground and his silverballer slipped from his hand. Quickly, he scrambled for his weapon in order to attempt to take another shot at his target. He didn't have any time for mistakes now, after all Tenya's attack against him certainly wasn't a quiet one, meaning that he would need to take him down now and escape before any potential witnesses showed up, or this situation would turn into a bloodbath bigger than the Hitman's own "funeral".

One thing was clear. His employer had not told him the whole truth.

"I don't leave a contract unfinished. You aren't leaving this alleyway alive."

By the time Agent 47 had grabbed his gun again, Tenya was behind him, having dashed right past the assassin as he punched him. A contract was out for him, huh? Someone must of gotten sick of his interfering with crime, but threats to his life weren't going to stop him. Tenya did wonder why the man had brought a simple gun with him though. Did he now know about his own target's powers?

"You are sadly mistaken, Sir!" he continued, before turning on his heel to face Agent 47 again. Instead of a straightforward attack, Tenya jumped between the alley walls with his engine boosted strides until he was a good 15 or so feet in the air, and then shot himself downward at the man in the suit with a powerful kick.

Managing to grab his gun, 47 decided he wasn't about to start playing around and whipped out the second silverballer in his other hand and turned the laser sighting on. He had thought this would be a simple job since he would have been able to get the jump on the kid easily in a residential area no matter how advanced those powers of his were supposed to be. Usually his issue had never been the strength of an individual target since he usually had the strength to overpower most human beings. Instead it was usually any witnesses or armed security that may be between him and his mark.

    This was different.

As he made another attempt to fire off shots at Tenya, the target suddenly lept into the air and even the notorious assassin was simply...stunned. His employer certainly hadn't told him about this shit. Not at all. Just as Tenya dove towards him with a kick, 47 had just enough time to fire off a few shots since the Silverballers were fairly quick firing semi-automatics, not that it was likely to do much damage before the kick connected with him.

This was enough to take him down. The hitman found himself slumped against the wall with his handguns limp in his hands, trying to see where he had gone so wrong with this job.

And then out of character for himself, 47 let out a small chuckle, after all this was the last laugh, the last joke. "Nearly 20 years in this job...well, looks like I'm useless without Diana after all..."

The few bullets that connected with Tenya were enough to sting and leave dents in his light armor, but not enough to truly injure him. Tenya took a few steps back from the downed assassin, crossing his arms as he watched for any sudden movements.

"Now, who sent you after me?" he asked. "I don't take killers for hire lightly, and running away won't do you any good. Please cooperate."

Well, this wasn't good at all. The last time 47 had been taken down like this, he had managed to get the other guy back and spent several months in a secret ICA facility recovering. Luckily this time he hadn't been shot, just kicked around a bunch, though he didn't have the protection of his employers in this world when jobs went wrong like this. Seeing how quickly Tenya had reacted to his movements before, the assassin decided that it likely wasn't going to be the best move to strike back just yet. Instead he would have to wait for an opening.

"Couldn't tell you if I wanted to. I don't, as it happens." 47 said dismissively as he wasn't one for words. No, if this kid wanted information out of him then he would have to try a little harder than that if he wanted to break through a highly trained international contract killer like that.

While reaching for his guns might be a bad idea right now, he still had options like his syringes or fiberwire if his target got too close and left himself vulnerable. All he'd need to do would be wait for him to get his neck close enough to vulnerable and then Mr. 47 would be saying au revoir to Mr. Iida.

"... Very well then, I suppose I'll have to arrest you and bring you to the Morhall authorities to deal with appropriately." Tenya shook his head at the assassin and approached him. it wasn't a hero's job to interrogate, so he wasn't going to push the issue. He always had a set of handcuffs or similar restraints in case he needed to keep someone from running off. "Don't struggle," he said, kneeling down to try and grab Agent 47's arms. Tenya's other hand reached for something on his belt.
