Well-hidden in a clearing that was difficult to reach through the unnaturally thick undergrowth, two lightsaber blades flashed gold in the sunlight. Though hard to find, any Force user would be able to feel the emanating Force signature, the strong mess of light and dark that roiled and warred, though this time light was far more prevalent than it had been... but it seemed like the dark fought only more ferociously to make up for its lesser presence.

That thread through the Force led to the clearing and to the young woman wielding those two golden blades, protruding either side of the long silver rod in her hands. Of average height, she was slender, muscles visible beneath tanned skin. Though she wore tight black pants, she had taken advantage of the heat and being alone to pair them with a bikini top that did nothing at all to hide all of the ugly, red, fresh scars and newly-healed wounds all over her body. Scars that some few people might notice were in different places from the much older, absent ones of months ago.

Jaesa focused, working through every move and stance of Soresu, moving with the honed, phenomenally fast reflexes that were the hallmark of Form III to allow the combatant to deflect blaster bolts and even gunfire. Her dark hair whipped around her shoulders, expression hard and cool but more intense than when she'd been training as a Jedi mere weeks ago. She concentrated, willing herself to forget about all that had happened lately, to open herself to the Force and the movements of her saberstaff as it spun through the air.

The stirring through the Force was what alerted her to someone entering the clearing. She made no sign that she had noticed them; only when she spun on her toes, without warning, to face them - eyes closed - saberstaff whirling in a flash of gold, the blade came to a sudden halt a mere few inches from the newcomer's head.

Dark eyes snapped open, and Jaesa gave a thin smile. "Revan," she greeted, as she lowered her weapon.

Of all things, Revan hadn't expected to sense the force so strongly in the midst of the woods on a planet she thought held little save for a commercialized beach and the resort that attracted so many, but she supposed with the amount of force users on it currently, it wasn't impossible. After all, simply among those on her ship, there were wielders of the force with remarkable power, and likely, it was simply one of them exploring, or something - but still, she remained curious.

That curiosity led her through thick trees and branches that often had to be forcibly cut apart with one of her sabers, and she followed the force with little else to guide her, increasingly wondering if this was a bad idea, but it couldn't be. It was just one of her friends, right?

Her pace slowed as she felt the force grew stronger, familiar to a point of recognition - it was Jaesa, and her intuition was proved factual as the woman came into view. Eventually, she stopped walking, focused on the sight of the woman training, the seemingly fresh scars that covered her skin, the smoothness at which she moved.

It was impressive, and a sight she didn't feel the right to disrupt, and so she didn't, waiting in place until one of her golden blades nearly cut through her neck and her eyes widened in time.

"Jaesa," she greeted, a small smile forming on her own lips as her eyes returned to their normal state. "I thought we were on vacation."

There was something of a mild, cool confidence to Jaesa as she stepped back, idly spinning the saberstaff in her left hand as Revan smiled back; a confidence that rarely seemed to manifest unless she held a weapon in her hand. She was in a permanent state of confusion, lost amid three years of unwelcome memories that painted her as a far worse person than she could ever have believed she could be, but when she held her lightsaber or used the Force, it felt like something temporarily clicked into place. A fighter - that was what she knew she was.

Fitting then, that her first memory of the woman standing before her was of fighting together, side-by-side.

"I wasn't aware of any rule that we can't train while on vacation," she answered, one corner of her lips curving. She couldn't quite help the way that she stumbled over the word vacation. It was an unfamiliar word to her because Jedi did not take holidays. Master Karr certainly hadn't.

But then, she became aware of a terrible realisation: that everything from the waist up that revealed the torment perpetrated on her body was visible. Her smile froze, just for a moment, before she held out a hand to the side, using the Force to bring her shirt over to her, quickly pulling it on as soon as the fabric hit against her palm. It wasn't as though Revan was a stranger to her overly scarred state, not with their small yet intimate history, but it was different. Those scars had been a point of shame to her, but most of them had still been inflicted while she was willing, and she'd had a long time to allow herself to try and shed the shame and become more confident. These scars, so ugly and fresh, were different, and too new, barely even able to be called scars yet. "How are you liking the place?" she asked casually.

The corners of her lips slightly spread as Jaesa spoke, offering a nod of acknowledgement to her point, as there were certainly no official rules concerning vacations.

"It's unspoken," she shrugged. "Generally - from what I've heard, at least, vacations are made for resting." If her various trips to random planets with slightly less stressful jobs than the usual weren't counted, this was her first vacation ever, so she definitely didn't know all there was to know about them, but she still thought herself decently informed given her questioning of others and research.

"But, if your idea of fun is training, then I can respect that." Simply from going two days without any sort of fight, Revan felt... odd, like she had skipped something important, but she doubted her abilities would fade after a week.

The look on Jaesa's face then her rapid addition of a shirt caused her smile to fade, as she hadn't meant to upset her by intruding, and as for the scars, they simply proved Jaesa was strong, that she had overcome something significant. Revan had plenty of her own (albeit not as fresh as Jaesa's), most of which she had no idea where they sourced from, but rather than being ashamed, she - eventually - had learned to accept them, to think of them as something beautiful rather than a blemish.

Still, it was hard. She'd look down and see it as yet something else she didn't know about herself, and -

    Right. Jaesa was talking.

"It's great," she admitted, forcing a smile to return. "The rooms are nice, it's interesting to see a day and night cycle, the ocean is kind of cold but really pretty, the food is good... I can't ask for more." And she was with her friends, which all together made for a perfect week. "And you? Have you at least gone to the beach yet?"

"Well, I don't know about you, but I find resting kind of... boring," she responded with a snort. What was the point? There were things she could be doing while she sat around and did nothing. Like training. She needed to train, needed something combative, and that was different enough from weeks ago as to be strange. How much of it was the itch for violence that she had always been so desperate to scratch before, she didn't know. The effects of her memories on her was... strange.

Settling her shirt around her torso and adjusting the fabric, Jaesa did her best to act as though nothing untoward had caused her to suddenly want to cover herself. In all honesty, she didn't know why she really cared, or why she didn't want Revan to see, when Revan had once seen every mark and blemish there was to see. But she supposed it simply was because her body was different now. She was still lithe and muscled, but few of the marks were shared between this and the last. And she certainly could never have seen any of them as beautiful. Not on herself, anyway.

The saberstaff still spun in quick fingers at her side as she considered Revan's question and gave a sheepish smile. "Not yet," she admitted. "I came out here to find a place to train pretty much as soon as I put my things away. Truth be told..." She hesitated, then, wondering if she ought to admit to not wanting to be around Rey and Kylo, but she didn't think Revan knew she and Kylo were exes, and for some reason she wasn't eager to divulge that connection. So she changed what she was going to say. "I lived on Tatooine for a few years. I've had my fill of sand."

"It is kind of boring," she admitted. Her thoughts constantly moved too quickly to process, so she took this vacation as an excuse to purposefully try to quiet them - but even then, once they finally slowed down a bit, it felt boring. Still, a drink could always help, as well as conversation with whoever happened to be next to her and willing to chat.

She snorted at the mention of Tatooine, a planet of sand she had purposefully blocked out of her more recent memory. "Point taken." She still found sand in T3, from time to time. "But the sand here isn't as bad, and there's an ocean, too, which means breeze and swimming - and there are no sand people trying to whack you." Overall, she found this planet a whole lot more relaxing than that particular planet of sand. "Just come to the beach with me for one day. It doesn't even have to be a full day, just... half an hour."

She didn't want to force her into anything, but she seemed... off, like there was possibly something more than just sand bothering her. "Or, we could go to the spa. I hear it's sandless." Her lips curved into a smile as she stepped closer to Jaesa, open to whatever she wanted.

At first, Jaesa only slightly nodded at each of Revan's points, until she reached mention of the sand people trying to whack them. Then she let out a laugh, something not often heard from Jaesa. "Lack of sand people is always a blessing," she agreed with something that might nearly have been called a grin.

And then Revan was inviting her to the beach, and then suggesting the spa. Jaesa eyed her for a moment as the other woman took a small step towards her, and made a quietly thoughtful noise. She didn't know much about spas, but she assumed that was where the massages Kylo had mentioned would be done. For a moment, she couldn't help but see in her mind Kylo rubbing at Rey's shoulders in example and Rey enjoying it, when once he'd reserved such touches for her.

Immediately, she shoved it away. She wasn't going to think about it. She had all but given the pair of them her blessing, and it wasn't like she still felt for Kylo that way either. She was just... lonely. But she had to move forward, the way that he was.

"The spa, hmm?" She cocked her head slightly in a thoughtful manner. "I've never been to one of those before." Then she paused. Part of her wanted to just train on her own, but she never did do well with being entirely alone, and she wouldn't at all have protested to more time to get to know Revan. "If it's not too much time spent with me, perhaps we could go to the beach and then round it off with the spa?"

Holy shit, she got Jaesa to laugh, which was an achievement she hadn't been expecting to gain so quickly into their conversation, but she was pretty happy with her success in inciting some amount of joy. And did she see a smile - no, a grin on her face? Her own smile widened at the sight, glad to see Jaesa happy as she deserved to be.

She definitely seemed to put a lot of thought into her suggestion of going to the spa, and for a moment, Revan's gaze flickered downwards, not wanting to make thinking hard for her by staring, or anything - but upon her speaking, her eyes swiftly returned upwards to meet Jaesa’s, a small smile of reassurance on her lips. "They're great." Truthfully, she had one been to one once before while on a small jungle-like planet not too far from this one (from the map she had seen, at least), and it was heavenly.

"Too much time spent with you?" Her brow raised, staring blankly for a moment. "Do you really think I'd turn down spending time with you?" She knew Jaesa had been through some rough times, but she still found it difficult to believe how Jaesa could think herself burdensome.

Still, if it was up to her to prove her of absolutely deserving of time and attention, then she'd do so happily. "That sounds perfect," she agreed warmly to her suggestion, as she couldn't think of a better way to spend the day, really. "Do you need more time training, or are you up for going now?"

Great, hm? Jaesa was a little skeptical of how great a stranger touching her could be, but she didn't show it. She really just wanted to do something, because training wasn't really helping take her mind off Rey and Kylo, Ben, whatever he wanted to be called these days. Or indeed, any of the things that had been going on lately. Not that morning anyway.

Revan seemed blankly surprised by Jaesa's comment, asking if she'd really thought she'd turn down time to spend with her. Jaesa didn't quite point out that yes, she had, but the way that her cheeks flushed certainly implied it. She couldn't really see why Revan would want to spend time with her; she wasn't quite the woman Revan had met in the summer, and normally when people spent a random night together, they had no intention or interest in seeing each other again. Normally. For people who weren't Wolfgang, anyway.

Besides. Revan was... Revan. She was... well... Revan. Practically every Force user back home knew her name! She was in all the stories, sometimes a hero and sometimes a villain, always shrouded in mystery. Mysterious enough that all the historians thought she was a man.

Why Revan would want to spend time with Jaesa was beyond her. But she definitely wouldn't complain.

"We can go now," she answered with a slight smile. She adjusted her shirt around herself, and then picked up her bag. "It's not really very effective training alone, anyway." She was used to always having a training partner. Nomen Karr had been brutal in his training regimes, and that was what she was accustomed to. Not trying to make do by herself. Stowing her saberstaff hilt in her bag, she then pulled out a bottle of water and threw her head back to take a long drink from it, before offering it to Revan as they began to head out of the clearing.
