In the Crimson Lance, Athena remembered rows of bunked beds filled with the sleeping bodies of women who'd long been broken and who no longer felt shame. Privacy was a secret, unknown thing. Luxuries weren't for them, neither were the vanities of makeup and mirrors. Someone had braided her hair exactly once, and they tried to show her how. After one too many failed attempts, she'd simply resolved to keep her hair shoulder length.

Ultimately her idea of living with other people wasn't the normal idea of living with other people. In fact, her idea of living was... hardly living at all. Which was why when she stepped into her apartment for the first time, the only feeling she could muster was confusion and paranoia. After all, she'd never expected she'd find herself rooming with a man whose defining feature was that he looked exactly like someone she wasn't sure she could trust anymore. And yet, in twisted irony, her roommate was also the man she felt she could trust the most out of anyone. Especially here in... Other Pandora.

Obviously, between the two of them, they didn't have many belongings to move. Short of whatever amenities they'd purchased with their allowance, they'd both come from Elpis with the clothes (and weapons) on their back. Athena's own arrangement was a single duffel bag, filled with heavy weapons and ammo, some underwear, and single clean set of clothes for sleeping in. The bag was so heavy that it fell with a resounding thud even against the cushioned surface of her new mattress. She spent maybe ten minutes storing its contents between her closet and the dresser before she was satisfied, kicking the closet door closed with her foot (a little harder than intended). With her moving in complete, she stepped back out of her bedroom and into the hallway to the small living area.

"I don't like the look of those windows." She announced to Tim/Not-Jack, in her usual dry tone, squinting at the openings in question. She didn't offer a continuation of her thought.

While Athena had the upper hand when it came to gunplay and keeping her general shit together, it became readily apparent that she was beyond useless when it came to matters of... domestication.

And, honestly, it wasn't like Timothy was much better. He'd still been living at home before his abrupt recruitment/arguable manipulation into his current life of mercenarying-ing. But as soon as they had touched down in this strange, oxygen-filled land, it had been obvious that he would have to step up and carry his weight (for once) if they were to get anywhere.

Which is how they ended up here, in a tiny little apartment, just the two of them. Out of all his fellow vault hunters, it was definitely a blessing to have been stuck with Athena, but it was still. ... Well.

Weird wasn't the word. Intimidating? Intimiweird? He frowned as he listened to her rummaging around in her new room, perched awkwardly on the arm of their very musty couch as he mulled over their current situation until Athena's growled words brought him out of it.

"Wuh...?" His frown deepened as he glanced at the perfectly normal windows. "Uh, okay. ... Why?"

There was a momentary pause in which Athena shot Timothy a particularly dumbfounded look, like her thought process wasn't obvious... before her expression immediately softened. It was often hard to remember that they weren't on the same wavelengths, that the conclusions she drew weren't the ones Tim did. She blew out a breath. "I mean they're bigger than I was expecting. A shooter could have an easy shot from... over there." She paused to approach the window, tapping a spot on the glass over a rooftop across the street.

"So I think..." Athena continued, drawing away from the window. "We should invest some heavy curtains, and cover these two windows up. That way you can read a book without a bullet in the back of your skull."
