This kind of situation wasn't one that was entirely unfamiliar to Kaede. Jarring, yes, but not completely alien. Though, two times in just a few days where she blacked out and ended up in some unfamiliar place? Either this was a very strange coincidence, another setup, or someone had rescued her... but she didn't see anyone from the killing game around. No Shuichi, no Miu, no Kokichi, not even Rantaro...

Rantaro. That's right. He was dead... she had killed him. An immense feeling of guilt spread throughout her chest almost instantly. Even if she had been saved, that didn't change the fact that he was dead, and never coming back. Kaede put her hand to her face, wiping away her tears. Even if she had this horrible, awful feeling inside, she needed to at least figure out what was going on. Honestly, she was half expecting the Monokubs to jump out and surprise her at any moment now, but what she got while she was wandering was admittedly the slightest bit scarier.

Somehow, she had ended up in a back alley without noticing. Just as she realized that she was probably not in the best place at the moment, she was roughly shoved at a wall. Being held there by her arm, a knife was quickly situated threateningly by her neck. "Alright, let's make this quick. I want your money, not your life, so hand over your cash and I'll let you leave alive." She was being mugged! Kaede tried to force words out of her mouth, specifically something like 'I don't have any money,' but her mouth failed to move. "Come on, kid. I'd rather not get in more trouble than I need to."

What was she even supposed to do at this point?

Wow, what a crazy day it has been so far! The crowd for her most recent gig really got a kick out of the performance she put on for them. It was such a grand experience to be able to spread the legacy of the Gramarye as she showed the world performances passed down through the line, and she even was able to throw in her own tricks! Though there were other magicians in Pandora, it was all just so much... fresher! It was exactly the confidence boost to allow for Trucy to walk along the streets giddily with a smile on her lips.

In her euphoric state, the magician wanted to go home as fast as possible so she could brag to Ema all about how amazing the show had gone, so she decided to take the back alleyways. Was it a good idea, especially for a petite girl such as herself? Not really, but not that it mattered to her! She felt she could keep an eye out for herself.

There was hardly a chance that she could have guessed that she wouldn't just be keeping an eye out for herself while going down this eerie path, but another girl just around the corner. In fact, when she peered her head around the corner and saw the scene, Trucy immediately backed away in shock. Her eyes widened as suddenly her brain was beginning to process everything that was going on. That girl... she was being mugged!

Oh no... What was she going to do? There was no chance that Trucy would just try to sneak away. What if that girl was hurt? She couldn't live with herself if she didn't try to do anything, but what could she do? Her hand reached into the pouch resting on her hip as she looked for her phone. Would the police even be able to respond fast enough, though? It was as she was scramming to find her phone, however, that she felt something else...

And suddenly inspiration struck! Oho, and what inspiration it was! Her creative juices flowed through her mind as she began to fidget around with the equipment on her person. It was a splendid plan, and no one should get hurt from it!

    Eureka!

    ...

As a man threatened Kaede for his money, a figure began to approach the duo from deeper in the alley as they turned around the corner. "You there, stop that!" called the figure in a low, tenor voice.

At a quick glance at the figure, it appeared as if it were a man staring the mugger down. A top hat covered the top of his head and he appeared to be covered in a cloak, covering the lower half of his facial expression while the top half was covered by the shadows.

"Let that girl go at once!" The 'man' bellowed. Though making such a voice was practically testing the limits of her range, the magician hiding behind the puppet continued her illusion to the best of her abilities. As long as she kept it up and didn't falter, the mugger should just see a man challenging him.

  3. Upon hearing someone confront him, the mugger's first reaction was one of challenge. "Huh? Who do you-" Then he saw the cloak and the top hat, with the figure mostly being covered by the shadows. Was this guy some kind of new vigilante or something? "I don't feel like getting beat up today..." He whispered, then letting go of Kaede's arm, the girl dropping to the ground. "You got lucky! But don't think you'll get off so easy with other crooks." And then, he ran away, deeper into the shadows.

It was practically a miracle to Kaede that someone had saved her. She took a moment to regain her composure, then pushed herself off the ground. If anything, she was just glad to be fine, aside from a few potential bruises. "Thank you..." She turned toward her rescuer, a bit unsure of what else to say. "I probably should have paid more attention to where I was going, huh?" Her face flushed a little out of embarrassment. Surprisingly, none of those menacing stuffed bears had shown up yet... Wouldn't they have shown up by now if they were here?

Trucy waited with bated breath to see how the mugger was going to respond to her front. If he didn't plan to back down, she had an idea for how to stop him, but... That could've definitely resulted in someone getting hurt since it would most likely be in self-defense, and if the man attacked her directly she hardly knew what she could've done from there.

Thankfully, for both herself and the other girl, the mugger was intimidated enough thanks to the rise of vigilantes within the city as of late, and he fled. A sigh of relief escaped Trucy's lips, but she still didn't move from her current position with the contraption as she allowed for her mind to catch up with the events. If Ema knew she did that, the poor detective would've been thrown into a stressed fit.

Her attention was only brought back to earth when she heard the voice of the other woman. "Oh, don't worry about it!" exclaimed a beaming, girly voice. It definitely didn't sound as if it was the voice 'the man' made earlier, yet the puppet seemed to be the source of the voice.

Suddenly, in a flashy spin coated by the light blue cloak, it almost appeared as if the figure went through a transformation! No longer did there appear to be a man encased in the shadows, but instead a smaller girl. She appeared to be wearing the exact same outfit as the man that appeared before, however. It even seemed as if the silk top hat fell on to her head a brief moment after the rotation.

"That man shouldn't have been trying to mug you! Not your fault at all," Trucy assured with a bright smile on her lips, "I'm just glad you're OK!"
