August 8th // Day 3 of the cruise
    @Maggie Sawyer @Lucy Lane

The day before had been rather interesting to say the least. Not only did the three women hang out and spend the day together but there was that bit of a tense moment with Irene Adler and the whole Maggie kissing Lucy. That kiss itself was not a bad thing, it was rather amusing to see reactions when people saw. What was strange was being in that sort of situation. For someone who had trouble with dating because she was trying with the wrong gender, going from that to falling for a woman who helped bring her out of the closet, to someone whose heart was divided into two.

Alex didn't give it much thought, accepting it with more ease than she had when she realized she was gay. All she knew was that two of the three people that meant the world to her were with her right now. Not beside her, but on the cruise with her. Alex had gotten up a little early despite her own brain protesting against it and slipped into something a little more comfortable for wandering around the ship. It wasn't as though she was sneaking out - with Lucy's sleep schedule and Maggie being a vampire, sneaking out was rather difficult. Instead she had told them to stay without revealing too much of her plan.

Though there had never been much in the way of who did what in terms of their relationship Alex was under no obligation to carry out her plan. The fact that she wanted to made all the difference and although it might not seem like much, those little things were the ones that mattered most. In this case Alex had planned on getting them all breakfast, which was mostly easy, even with Maggie. Even as a vampire she was able to eat normal food though there was still the blood thing. Having the foresight, Alex had gotten some blood on board. There had been questions from her source who, without revealing who the vampire was, told them that she was using it to fake her own death.

With that stare there was no chance of trying to get any more information.

Alex was gone less than half an hour before returning with the goods. Pancakes, whipped cream, fruit, omelette, bacon, bagels and blood. All were separated so there wouldn't be any transfer depending on the mood(and for the case of the blood only one of three would actually enjoy it).

Entering the cabin again, Alex couldn't help but grin smugly - like the cat that got the cream. Because what was better than spending the cruise with two people that held her heart in their hands?

"Just call me your breakfast angel." Alex quipped. A terrible joke but she hardly minded.

When Alex had stirred early that morning, Lucy was already close to waking on her own with her nose buried into Maggie's hair. She'd peered curiously and tiredly at the agent as Alex had gotten up to leave, but ultimately, the temptation to go with her wasn't nearly as strong as the temptation to lay back down for a few more minutes of sleep. Vacation meant sleeping a little past 5am for once, right? (But past 6 or so was really pushing it in her mind.)

So by the time Alex had returned with their breakfast, Lucy was finally awake for good. The balcony door was propped open to let the cool breeze into the room, and the Major herself was doing push-ups on the balcony in nothing but sleep shorts and a sports bra. She didn't seem to mind the subtle rocking of the boat as she worked, and the just barely rising sun spilled dawn over her muscled back.

"Well, you're certainly some kind of angel," she replied cheekily when the door opened, not pausing but looking towards her with a half-smile. "You two want to keep me company outside? It's a beautiful morning." She tilted her chin in the direction of the small table and chairs on the patio.

  3. The past few months had been full of adjustments. Maggie had been pretty used to bumps in the road and wrenches in the gears back home, but in Pandora? Things had definitely been kicked up a level. That said...not all of the changes had been bad ones. Not only had she been lucky enough to find Alex again here -- thanks in no small part to Lucy -- but the two of them... After some initial weirdness, they'd become the three of them.

It was still pretty new, and honestly...sometimes it felt like it was too good to be true. The part of her that felt like she didn't deserve to be happy kept waiting for, almost willing, the other shoe to drop. Today, though...today wasn't one of those days.

Today, she'd been able to lay awake, surrounded by two amazing women, one who she loved more than life itself, and one who was quickly approaching that point. She'd stayed still as they slept, just listening to the sounds of their breathing and heartbeats, surrounded by their warmth. It was pretty awesome.

Until Alex tried to sneak out.

Or maybe she hadn't been trying -- Maggie wasn't quite sure. Danvers was pretty stealthy by habit, even when she didn't need to be, and Lucy and she were pretty observant even under the worst circumstances...so who knew. Either way, she could tell that Lucy woke up when Alex slipped out of bed...but Maggie has decided to humor her girlfriend, keeping her eyes closed in the illusion of sleep, though she couldn't help the smile she wore.

She was still in bed when Alex returned, albeit sitting cross-legged over the covers this time, wearing an oversized t-shirt and boxers. She'd been watching her other girlfriend, and contemplating the fact that that kind of exercise did exactly jack shit for her these days when the door opened. Without thinking, she was off the bed and by Alex's side in a heartbeat. "Morning, babe," she murmured, pressing a kiss to her cheek, before taking inventory of what she'd brought.

"Seconded," she commented as Lucy called her an angel, before snagging a strawberry and popping it into her mouth. "I was wondering where you disappeared to so early, Danvers."

Lucy's question...gave her pause. Despite the new ring she wore that was supposed to grant her immunity, Maggie was still...a little skittish about direct sunlight. After a moment, she offered up a crooked smile, shaking her head. "You two go ahead. I'll enjoy the view from in here."

Imagine her horror when Maggie still liked vegan food. She had partly hoped that her girlfriend would be more inclined to eat normal food after her transition but nope. The agent hardly minded of course, even if it was a point of teasing and gentle ribbing.

Before she could set everything down, Maggie came to her side and before she could get too far from her, Alex quickly gave her a kiss. Which, by the way, was far more difficult than she would have thought with her arms mostly full. Lucy, typically, was working out though Alex would not complain about such a fine view. Such that she didn't even mind the tease before.

"Well I'm not having either one of us starve on this trip." Alex stuck her tongue out.

Getting things sorted out meant going into the deck and setting it on the table. The day was gorgeous with blue skies and not a cloud to be seen. "Babe, you've got the ring, right? We had assurances that it would work." It was a scary thing and Alex would be supportive, except she also wanted to give her a little nudge. That her feelings were valid but she'd be okay.

Lucy didn't think much of Maggie's answer as she continued along with her push ups, figuring that her girlfriend would just prefer to stay in bed with her breakfast. She couldn't be faulted for that, really -- after all, wasn't their entire trip's point to give themselves some kind of a break after everything that had happened lately? Not everyone had to be weird like Lucy and continue with their regular routines just because.

But then Alex brought up Maggie's ring, and realization hit Lucy. Of course she would be a little nervous about spending time outside. Everyone would be if they were in constant danger of their skin burning up like confetti next to an open flame. She couldn't help but feel a little bad for not thinking of it first, and so she quickly pushed herself back to her feet and came back inside, offering Maggie a faintly apologetic smile.

"What did our breakfast angel bring us today?" Lucy teased, sitting down on their bed between them and picking up a bagel with cream cheese. "If what I'm about to put into my mouth is vegan..." She let her sentence trail off as she arched an eyebrow mischievously and poked her tongue out.

  6. Maybe she was being a coward. Like Alex had said, whomever had provided her ring had promised that it would do its job and keep sunlight from harming Maggie. Even so... She'd had a few experiences with sunlight early on, and they had been...just a ray of direct sunlight touching her skin...it had been pain unlike she'd ever felt.

It had also left her less than inclined to trust her life to something as small as a little silver ring.

"I know," she replied to Alex after swallowing thickly, offering a smile that was only a little shaky. She dropped her gaze, then, smile fading. "Just...habit, you know?" It wasn't a lie...but it wasn't a whole truth either. She'd get there, she would...but if she was being honest, she didn't feel like pushing her limits at that particular moment.

Thankfully, she was saved from having to admit anything further by Lucy coming in and taking a spot between them. Maggie flashed her a soft smile in response to that apologetic one, before grinning at Lucy's quip. Reaching out quickly, she stole Lucy's bagel from her hand, shifting to straddle her girlfriend's lap. "I'll make sure it is," she tossed back, setting her stolen bagel aside, and pulling Lucy into a light kiss...which she quickly sought to deepen.

    Vegan indeed.

It couldn't be easy, relying on a silver ring to keep from burning into ash while in sunlight. Alex didn't blame Maggie for her hesitance and didn't push any further. Now was no time, nor place, to do it and besides, they were here for fun, not to argue. "You'll get there. Even if its not today, it'll be someday." Alex was all about reassurance.

"Considering one of us is vegan, there is more non-vegan food." Alex couldn't help but smirk as she finished setting everything down so that her arms were free. Picking up a neatly sliced banana, Alex dunked its edge in whipped cream before popping it in her mouth. "That is - oh." Alex was about to say that what she had in hand was decidedly not vegan when Maggie intervened.

Quickly moving a few items so they wouldn't break or spill, Alex was more than content to watch her girlfriends. Once again she marveled how lucky she was. She'd almost lost both of them, and one she had lost since she thought she was dead, but to have them with her now? Alex had no words to convey her emotions.

Sipping at a nice cold drink, Alex wanted to resist a call from Maggie's exposed neck. It wasn't as if she wasn't allowed to join in or anything, she just preferred not to be that clingy and annoying girlfriend. Let them have a few moments together, no harm in that.

Maggie's neck continued to call out for her, begging to be kissed.

It felt strange to think it, let alone feel it, and after a moment of hesitation did she put her drink down. Slowly she moved, as if afraid of rejection, reaching with fingers that gentle ran along Maggie's collar, only to gently press her lips against silky smooth skin.

Luckiest woman alive? Indeed she was.
