[Slight warning ahead for potentially dramatic/scary memories, up to and including death threats, PTSD, and overall self-loathing.]

    =================================================================

    Friday the Thirteenth...

Fitting day to go take a long walk away from these eternally happy nut-jobs, and fuck 'em all if they didn't like him not like wanting to join in their fucking wimpy chatter. After all, he had some seaweed to go gather and dry out, which would make a fitting tiny snack for himself later.

However, it seemed like a fitting day for just about everything to go wrong for himself as well, considering all the crazy shit he'd just helped to pull elsewhere.

He hadn't had a potential fight like that in years, and one that big wouldn't have been anything he had seen back home in the messy remains of the East End, never mind the smoking ruins of this place. Again, he should have been happy that they'd even bothered to let somebody like himself show up in the first place, let alone join in the pistol-whipping and knife-flashing. For that, he might have some brand of purpose over there besides fighting and sulking behind the scenes.

Still...as soon as he brought out his knife to start cleanin' up a few stalks of seaweed that had washed up on the beach, all the bad stuff he'd had to pay attention to before started to come out in a bad way, the least of which was not being able to keep down his first two meals of the day no more.

And, sadly, once the sick stuff came; all the nasty little memories would definitely follow.

The blonde wasn't keen on leaving the safety of the house but he was also tired of being in his room where both Hermes and Apollo liked to magically pop in to annoy him or ask him if he wanted to do something that day or to try to coax him downstairs for fun time. So Will had pulled on his blue jacket over the top of his orange camp Half-Blood t-shirt and with quiver full of arrows attached to his back, as well as his sturdy bow in his hand he had fled the house. He hadn't known where he was headed or what he was doing, all he knew was he was he wished he could get away from it all, the memories, the nightmares, the pain in his heart. Gently as he walked he glided a hand over his ribs, thankful for his coat and the fact it cushioned the touch because his ribs right now were cracked so direct touch was painful. He still had bandages on the worst wounds, the wounds taking forever to heal because he refused the magical kind of treatment.

The gift his father had, the gift he had, the gift any of the demi-gods had, it was in reality nothing but a curse. He was brought out of his thoughts as up ahead he spotted movement, automatically the nervousness began to creep forth and yet he warily walked on, forcing himself to keep moving forwards. It was a man, busy doing something with seaweed and curious the blonde teenager moved closer. His right hand gripped the bow tightly, he didn't know if he would be able to fight if he had to, but he hoped the sight of his bow would be enough. Swallowing down the fear brought on by his own troubled past he finally had the courage to ask"What are you doing? Are you going to make something out of that seaweed?" Even as he finished talking he found himself close enough to see the man's face and what he saw there was so familiar to him, it was the face of a man in pain, a face of a man who was haunted by something they had done or seen. He recognised it because it was the same face many of his comrades at Camp Half-Blood wore, he also knew it because it was the same face he himself had permanently attached to his face and his first instinct was to run away.

Yet he remained, the instinct being overridden by a side he had kept hidden for so long, a side he was trying to push away for ever, the side which had lead to his trauma in Pandora, his empathy, his doctors heart. Before he could stop himself he was speaking again"What is your name? I'm called Will... Sorry, I'm kinda new to this town... Don't know everyone's names and what they do yet...." If he could just get this man talking, or opening up maybe he could help him and yet his heart was pounding against his chest because he knew that this might lead him to use his curse, to ruin his life all over again. But thanks to his big heart, he could not himself from trying to help.

    @Will Solace

    Jibber-jabber, slapper-slobber.

Somebody might have been runnin' their mouth from some distance away, but he himself couldn't exactly make out the words right now. He found himself a little too occupied with like falling to his hands and knees and let what was in his stomach come out again.

He hadn't been the only person forced to their knees, though, had he…? No, somebody had shoved a loaded gun into the face of one of Those Three, and maybe all of 'em at once...

Fuck 'em. He'd clearly had too much to snack on these past few weeks. Too much meat and beer…

...Those other folks could have used some meat on their bones, though, right?! What the hell were they feeding 'em back in the Hollow, bread and water?

His whole body lurched on its own again, and he found himself staring into an ugly mess right before the ocean's watery touch started washin' it away. Too bad it didn't do fuck-all for his mind.

    ...

Damn this stupid-ass kid and all his stupid-assed questions. What did he expect, some kind of answer? Ugh. He would do his best to talk, all right, but all that he would manage to spit out was something close to that of a choking seal.

Good for you, Tony. Goody fuckin' gumdrops.

Another muffled howl, then a third, and then he had to start feeling his eyes water up. Fuckin' great...

Will noted almost instantly his words were having very little effect, but then they weren't laced with the power of his gift, he was out of practice in mediating and the reluctance to use his gift meant his powers of the calming speech weren't working. The man was acting strange, as if in a trance, but Will did not retreat, he recognised what was happening, he let the man screech. When the man fell to the ground before him Will backed up a step knowing exactly what was going to happen next, he had seen it before, countless times and yet he could not look away as the man threw up before him. He knew he should turn his back and walk away, yet, yet something was keeping him here, something which would only lead to trouble.

The guy was glaring at him now, it felt like he was glaring ice daggers at him and the teenager wondered if he was being unfairly judged by the man. Will tilted his head at that thought and narrowed his blue gaze, while the thought of He knows nothing... He's hurting like you.... Ran through his mind. At that his compassion only seemed to grow as he watched the man howl like some kind of wild animal, once, twice, three times and in response Will's feet automatically began to move. Though his feet carried him closer, not away from the man, he could see him trying to hide the fact his eyes had filled with tears. He was so close now, he wanted to pull away, to run and yet he couldn't, this man needed him so by Zeus he was going to help him. He reached out one hand, then two, placing them gently, comfortingly on the man's shoulders.

Then without a word he began to sing, the song came to him instantly the Greek words dripping off the end of his tongue like sweetened honey, the sound of the words were so perfectly pure, so beautiful. It had an instant effect as his hands began emitting a warming glow, a healing, comforting glow which seeped into Billyboy. Will knew it wouldn't take the trauma away from the other man, but it would stop this fit, it would help him, it would comfort him and so on Will sang, knowing that even as he helped this man he was endangering himself all over again for his power was a curse.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuckin' fuck-all!

Billyboy hated looking like a crybaby in front of this stranger kid. Hated it so much, he pretty much wished some giant fucking lightning bolt would take him out right then and there. Anything to keep Goldilocks over there from like dashing back to the main 'neighborhood', and so parrotin' everything he'd done to those preppy kids to give 'em a round of laughs before they went back to their comfortable, swaddled, gold-encrusted little fucking lives. Too bad he'd gone and lost his damned knife in all the fuckin' madness, otherwise he might have seriously thought about taking himself out, never mind this mouthy little f--

    --St...st...stupid b...brain!

His fuckin' worthless body was still shaking like a damned underfed chihuahua pup; still like threatening to let out another round of half-digested lunch...but there was something else going on now, too. This kid must have lit some kind of fire when his stupid fucking eyes got too damned watery to see straight, 'cause it was already starting to warm him up really fast even though it must have still been pretty small to start with.

No, wait a second...this kid hadn't started any fire. He didn't see or smell any flames or smoke anywhere, oh no. Instead, he could almost swear that this kid was the fire.

Settle down, Megs! This boy's not gonna hurt you!

Maybe it was the crazy warming feeling that this kid had passed onto him, or maybe he was just plain fuckin' out of his mind now, and so doomed to see nothin' but hallucinations for the rest of his life. Either way, though, something had still dragged out the memory of the day his baby sister got shoved out into the world, for it was like the whole thing played out on a big big movie screen right before his eyes, complete with his ten-year-old self like climbing onto Mum's bed, no less.

There we are, boyo! Arms out!

It was a memory that had to be twelve years old by now. Even if he hadn't aged a day past 17, it still felt like fuckin' forever ago. Still, he felt his arms twitch upward just a little, his fists unclenching themselves to better carry whatever got placed there.

He had barely heard the swearing, so intent on helping Billyboy, so good hearted beneath his own agony. He was focused so intently in that moment, singing the song to his father, pleading with him to offer the power to take this mans pain away, even just for today, he cared little for anything else in that moment. The song was so perfect, so honey sweet pouring from his lips that he knew the power flowing from his hands into the man before him was likely rather powerful, there was already a glowing light escaping from beneath his hands, drifting up around them.

Will could see something change on the others face, the pain was fading slightly but he was barely able to notice that to busy was he on trying to drive away this mans demons, so intently offering himself to soothe anothers pain when he himself was suffering just as much. His own pain ebbed into his heart, his own traumas and the song trembled but Will's bright, blue gaze narrowed as he sang all the more determinedly while silently he scolded himself No! Don't drift or the power will weaken and you'll only have the job half done!

His gentle grip on the man's shoulders became more firm as his concentration sharpened and he sang on, he could feel his golden light battling with the man's inner darkness pushing it away, he knew it was only a temporary fix, he knew it would only be for now, yet he could not bare to see this man so in pain, so broken. Something was moving beneath him, but he was so focused, so intent on what he was doing he hardly noticed as his song strengthened as like a knight riding into battle he fought to save the man before him. He had no idea how low he had been singing now, but he could feel himself waning, he was growing weaker, he could not keep this up much longer, but he wanted to win, he could not allow himself to be beaten and as he forced himself to expel more power into Billyboy, singing on in that perfect, honey voice.

A single tear escaped his eye but he could feel the last of the darkness slipping away, freeing the other man for the time being. His song stopped as abruptly as it had began as his legs gave out on him and he fell weakly to the side, hitting the sandy beach hard. He had hit something on the way down, it was then he noted Billyboy had had his arms extended, but now he was knelt on all fours on the sand, close enough to the sea for it to reach him. But he barely noticed its cold waters washing into him, he felt so weak, but he had to see if the stranger he'd helped was ok so he forced himself to glance towards the man.

    Ho. Ly. Hell.

He might not have gone completely back to fuckin' normal when Mr. Sunbeams broke their little connection, but at least he didn't feel like drownin' himself now. Or getting sick, or sinking into the sand, or just plain fuckin' disappearing. Not bad, considering where he'd been trapped and for what reason a short time ago.

At the same exact time, though, Sunbeams didn't look all that great now, either. In fact, if he wasn't seeing any more damned hallucinations and he might actually be able to trust his own eyes this time, he might almost think the kid had caught something nasty, be it from himself or some other half-paralyzed bastard.

    "...Oh, no y' don't, Mister..."

It took him a few attempts to force himself to stand up again, but once he'd finally managed it, off he went to get a closer look at old Sunbeams. Anything to make sure he hadn't changed himself into Mr. Typhoid Mary overnight, never mind like dragging down Little Sunbeams down with him.

"...There's no dyin' on my watch now, yeah? I won't have this little beachie like turning into a crime scene, so...how about y' move around a bit, just so I can be sure?"

Will felt a cold wave hit him, soaking his clothes, but he barely noticed his gaze on the man he'd just helped, he seemed to of returned to reality at least and Will's blue gaze dropped from the man too the sand beneath his hands. He felt so weak, he could barely move, another wave hit him and nearly knocked him down. Will tried to crawl forwards, as he did so he heard the strangers words and even as the man spoke his limbs gave out as he fell forwards into the wet sand, his legs still getting hit by the waves as they lapped the shoreline.

He winced as his ribs let him know that, that had been a mistake, but he didn't bother to attempt moving. It would simply be better to lie there, to let the ocean wash away his sorrows, his pain, his exhaustion and yet, if he allowed himself to do that he'd be abandoning his father. His eyes filled with tears and he twisted them shut, trying to stop the tears before they started when a voice came from above him, the stranger was talking to him. Will let out a groan and slowly, lifted his head slightly off the ground, staring at the man through his exhausted, empty blue eyes.

The waves were still lapping over his legs, but he had no strength left to push himself further up the beach and even as he moved his arms in an effort to lift his torso higher he could feel them shaking with exhaustion. He sighed, before muttering"Well... At least you... At least you... appear.... better now..." His voice was worn with exhaustion and now his gaze dropped to the stranger to take in his shaking arms as he gave up on pushing his torso off the sand instead lowering himself onto the beach once more while murmuring"I hope you stay that way..."

For there is not telling how my curse will affect people... It's only lead to trouble thus far...
He finished in silence within his head, feeling a sudden shame at how he'd used his powers despite the fact he had sworn he wouldn't and suddenly wished the waves would climb the beach and drown him before he could make this mistake again.

(( @Will Solace :: Looks good to me!!))

Well. He supposed that was one little problem out of the way, 'cause this one definitely wasn't dead. Any nasty little spies who tried to catch him doing something rotten (in theory) wouldn't have much of a leg to stand on, at least not on this beach.

    "Good, but not good enough..."

Then again, that same one looked to be not so keen about the idea of living, as far as he could tell. That wasn't fuckin' right at all, now, was it? Wasn't this where the ultra-perfect little shit started going on and on about how he was all-powerful and super-talented and deserved all the non-powered people to bow to him as a god, or some other fuckin' madness like that?!

"...I mean to say, how about I give you a hand out of that sand pit, and you reward me by like lettin' me get you back to the big house? Do we have a deal, Sunbeams?"

Stranger or no stranger, he didn't think it would be a smart idea to let this stand. Granted, he might not have been so sold on the idea of playing the hero himself, but he wasn't about to just plain walk away and let this kid drown, either. Some lives were better off not being played with, after all.

He could feel the grains of sand against his face as he lay there, the oceans cooling waves and he wondered why he bothered, if he just lay here the ocean would eventually sweep him away, then it would all be over. There would be no more pain, no more betrayal, no more falling into this never ending circle of using his powers and cursing those around him. He heard a voice above him, he knew it was the stranger, but whether he was talking to him or not he had no idea and in that moment he didn't really care. He wanted the guy to get away from him before he ruined his life further, he wanted the guy to move on from his pain.

Yet as the guy went on his words were stabbing through his exhaustion more and more, not giving him a chance to push it away. He shifted against the sand, turning his head slightly, trying to get a look at the guy he'd tried to help with his exhausted pair of bright blue eyes wanting to warn him off, to tell him that he was a curse, for to be a demi-god very much felt like a curse in that moment. But the guy instead was now offering to help him, saying it would be a reward enough for him and Will's blonde brow furrowed, confusion showing in his exhausted gaze as he spoke"Wh-why would helping me... Reward you? I... I am nothing but a burden... Helping me home would only be cause for suffering..."

His voice was bitter and pointed towards his own self loathing. The cold water lapping slowly higher up the beach was no longer soothing against his legs but growing tiresome and yet he still wished for the waves to somehow grab him, to pull him away. His head fell pathetically against the sand now and he found himself mumbling"You'd be better off leaving me here... You'd be safer that way.. And unburdened..."

Baw-haw, how dare you keep me from tossing my guts up,” Billyboy sarcastically whimpered, faking Sunbeam's depressed state of mind by pretending to hold a hand to his forehead.

Guess y' should have thought about me returning the favor before you showed up here, yeah? Anyway...

Whatever this kid thought he should be doing, he was going to ignore it outright and more or less do what he thought would be a good idea. And on this day, his self-appointed 'job' was a simple one: bring Mr. Sunbeams back to his big house for some rest and relaxation.

...Quit all the whining and just give me your hand, or whatever. I'm gonna need a little help from you if we're gonna do this right.

So saying, he dropped to one knee and offered the kid his own hand, if only to convince him to stop just plain lying there and actually make a move to pull himself out of that watery sandpit.

He stared up at the man as the other did a mock impression of him, finding himself shocked by how the others reaction to his state, it was clear this fellow was not going to offer him much if any sympathy. But that had not been what Will had wanted or expected, he did not know why the man's response surprised him so much and his gaze dropped from the others face as he told him he should of thought about all this before he had approached or acted. Will's gaze was upon the surface of the sand, where he lay, feeling the cold ocean lapping at him, it was like each time the waves pulled at him they were pulling away a little piece of him.

But he found himself mumbling a retort, his voice suddenly very tired"I did think... But then you were hurting and I couldn't let that stand... And well, I acted before I finished thinking as I'm prone to do... Blame my dad, it's his genes coming through..."The guy was telling him to take his hand now and Will drew an even breath, bright, blue eyes closing a moment before he let the breath out. With that motion he was extending his hand towards Billyboy's saying"Since you insist..." He even managed to flash Billyboy a small smile, though it never reached the once sunny, bright blue eyes and he let the other pull him to his feet, where he hoped the other would offer him support as he was not sure how long he'd be able to stand on his own.

Fuck it all, but it looked like he and Solace were already annoying the hell out of each other. That had to be his newest record, maybe. Ten minutes before the fights got started. Wow.

At least that was a lot quicker than it had gone with that perfumed, rouged-up boy back on that first day in the mountain. He had no idea if he could get any awards for this, even if he wanted one really really badly.

Then again...back on topic. He also wasn't about to let Solace drown in the ocean, as a kid with a face like his would have to be missed by at least one other person in the Bay. Where, then, would he be if he got caught performing that little thing known as 'criminal negligence'?

Yeah, well, y' both have my thanks, whoever he is,” he managed in a low tone. “It's definitely ten times better than having to carry on by myself.

Another wow. Apparently, there was a shred of emotion left in himself after all, even if he wasn't sure whether it had to do with this kid, or else just plain saving his own arse. He just knew that maybe it wouldn't have been all that nice of him to walk away after he'd been rescued...fixed...whatever.

So...I'm gonna give you a boost, and then you can hold on tight as we both get moving. Sound good?

He sort of guessed that Will wouldn't have a problem with his plan, but decided to speak up anyway just in case some stupid little accusers wanted to dig at him for stepping out of his territory. Will's left arm would go over his left shoulder, while his right arm got a firm hold around the kid's waist. All the better not to faceplant in the sand later, unless of course he needed some extra 'fiber' in his diet.

There we are. Should we go to your house now, or cut back around to mine?
