None of this was going to according to plan, and honestly it was starting to get irritating. Going from a war breaking out to the middle of a desert was irritating enough. Then there was the whole matter of Teach...and him not remembering the same things Claude did. Apparently in their timeline they led the Blue Lions, not the Golden Deer. Sooooo that meant the entire sort of vulnerable speech Claude had given them about two hours before coming to Pandora, had never happened. Meant one of the best friendships he had in his life, also basically never happened.

Oh! And there was the whole hey everyone is suddenly five years older than I remember thing. That! That was irritating. He was already one of the youngest in the group, now he just...was. Plus it seemed between all of them, not a single one remembered the same thing. Edelgard and Dimitri both remembered Byleth being a woman...and also leading their houses. Claude at least remembered the correct gender - but Byleth themself remembered leading...not his house.

So pretty much everyone was wrong about everything and he was tired.

Nice to get the group back together, at least.

When they got out of the Dread Wastes and into the Crystal Vales, however - Claude had decided to part ways with everyone. Wasn't forever...probably. Just wanted to get in the sights of this whole new world. He was curious after hearing things while they traveled. Each region wildly different than the other. As somewhat of an expert on things like that, he couldn't help himself.

Plus taking a little break from the confusing lore that was his own life...seemed nice.

He'd figure out his own feelings about certain people and things later.

Thanks to random choice, he ended up in Ark City, within Centria. Compared to what Claude was used to, it was wildly advanced. Plus they understood that clothing didn't have to be twenty layers and have so many flaps or capes. The simplicity appreciated. Clothing swapped for something less eaten by the desert.

And that was how he found himself in the Homestead bar in Ark City; clad in a yellow tank top and jeans. He was doing his best to hide the fact he had no idea how most of this technology worked. Most of his questions framed in indirect ways to not give away he was some "medieval heathen". It was easy enough to play dumb about other things in order to get the information he actually wanted. After all, he was great at playing dumb.

Claude liked controlling what people knew about him - even with complete strangers in a new land. It was just easier for people to think he was stupid.

Plus it let him get away with more, too.
Nobody paid any attention to the dumbass, after all.

And it was working on this bartender. She was happy enough to indulge his strange questions about types of alcohol he had never heard of. Some of it was similar enough - Claude able to make connections about flavor and such after a bit of description. But most of this? He had no idea.

Unfortunately the lovely bartender was called to the other side of the bar - leaving Claude alone with a drink menu that made little sense to him. Describing what the weirdly named drinks meant by breaking into parts he didn't understand either...wasn't exactly helpful. To anyone from this era, it was helpful. But it also sort of reminded him of his own persona notes for poison making. Vague references that only he'd understand in short-hand that...again only he'd understand.

He got why they did it, but it was not at all helpful.

Scratching his neck as he nursed his beer - one of the few similar...ish things - he glanced down the bar at another. Taller than him, weird but comfortable hat, looked generally disappointed that he existed at all. Wasn't exactly the most welcoming face in the world, but whatever.

Claude prided himself on making friends with anyone.
    Well, mostly anyone.
The choices were generally 'wear them out into friendship' or they just tried to kill him. There really wasn't a middle-ground with opinions of him, he noticed.

Sliding over a few stools to sit next to the guy, he held forward the menu and leaned over to show him, "Question for you - what is your favorite drink on this menu and why?" he flicked the strange shiny surface, "And if you hate them all, which is your least favorite and why?"

It'd been a long couple of weeks. Admittedly, it wasn't actually the worst. But it had definitely been long as hell.

His girlfriend, no matter how distant and ghostlike she had become, was gone from him again. He remembered briefly that she said he'd been in Pandora only briefly before he had come back, and wondered if he had blown her off as badly. He wondered if maybe she thought that this version of himself had been too distant. Minato leaving wasn't all that great either, even if most of the pain had been through osmosis than his own sorrow.

Moving houses had gone pretty smoothly, but moving at all was still taxing. At least things were going well enough with the new roommates. At least they actually interacted with he and his friend.

Shinjiro would never admit it out loud, but he was a bit afraid of living with his new boss, just in case he'd get too much of the asshole. So far though, Ren had seemed alright with him. So so far, all was well.

It was his birthday the night before. He'd never been big on birthdays, especially his, but in Pandora... it was pretty nice to have something to celebrate. He - not entirely in secret but without really talking to anyone - had gone out and gotten himself a motorcycle. It was decent, gently used, abandoned by someone that had been yanked out of Pandora. Ran alright, and it only took him a couple of days to get everything settled. It was his first actual day of having it and having it legal, so it was cause for some sort of extra celebration.

He was tired of being used to the portals. It was nice go get around on his own terms. Staying up so late the night before had been a mistake. Shinjiro should've taken his own advice and gone to bed at midnight instead of staying up all night with his friend... learning things he maybe would've been better off not knowing.

So here he was, drinking it away.

He was smart enough not to overdo anything, in control enough to know he'd need to get home eventually. So it was just a drink here and there, few and far between. One more and he'd be done, sober up with a walk and a few cigarettes, and he'd be back on his bike and on his way home. Maybe he'd be back late enough to sneak in when everyone was sleeping.

He was feeling wildly, uncharacteristically vulnerable. Shinjiro couldn't place why the hell he was so damn on edge all the time, why he was so stressed when he was at home. Maybe he just needed a day to change up what he was -

Maybe he needed something like this airhead that had just forced himself into the seat next to him. Maybe he would shrug him off normally, or if he was at the club back home he'd find a way to get away from him. But tonight, he'd humor him. With a long, not-so-subtle glance at him, Shinjiro shrugged. "Usually I'm a whiskey guy but tonight I'm just takin' it easy. You not used to bein' old enough to drink or something?"

Something about him struck him as... new. Maybe it was because he was used to being around someone who was barely six months old and he could just tell at this point, maybe it was because he was used to people in Pandora being from god knows where. But there was something about this guy that screamed 'help me.' Thankfully, one of Shinjiro's best friends back in Japan had that nightclub. Even if they weren't selling alcohol anymore, he'd spent a lot of his time on the streets pretty buzzed and knew his way around the menu. Looking over him again, he definitely looked more like a cocktail guy than a beer guy. But that's what he seemed to have in his hand, so who knew.

There was a faint fragrance to the man he had chosen to bother. Something smokey about it. Reminded him of the smell of a pipe, but slightly off. Probably yet another piece of technology he was yet to wrap his mind around. How, exactly, something basic like tobacco could be altered he wasn't sure he actually wanted to know. It was a dried plant that people burned to mellow out. Sometimes it felt like advances in technology weren't made for the ease of man, but simply because they could.

But...Claude was trying to stay open-minded. Close-minded ways of thinking are why there were constant attempts on his life as a child, and why he hadn't really known a moment of peace before coming to the Academy. And even then, that required burying a lot of who he was. Sometimes it was hard listening to Hilda refer to his homeland as a place of 'savages'...pretty much daily.

He knew she didn't know any better; children parroting their parents. Mentalities carried from one conversation to another. Nobody knew any better because borders were too hard-set back home. You were either for the Church, or against it.

It was hard to miss his new friend not-so-subtly checking him out. Not once, but twice. How could he blame him? Claude had looked into a mirror today, after all.

Plus after everything that had happened within the past week - the distraction was welcomed.

The man's voice was closer to an angry whisper than actually talking. Something about it just...amusing to Claude. Fascinating. His assessment of him from afar seemed to be roughly correct. Not surprising, just nicely validating.

"No, nothing like that," he smiled - quietly noting that this area apparently paid attention to age for alcohol. Also answered the question when the bartender asked him his own age when he entered. They...didn't really much care for that back home. Younger people were generally discouraged, but that hadn't exactly stopped Claude. Plus his mother had been the one to make him try her drink several times. Laughing as little-him spat it out and wondered how people could drink it.

He turned his attention back to the print-out - remembering the word 'whiskey' appearing several times.

"Whiskey," he repeated - glancing up as the bartender reappeared, glancing between the two of them with a pleasant smile.

    "That what you want, hun?"
    "Alright."
    "Neat? On the rocks?"

    Why was everything a riddle?

"...Please don't put rocks in it."

The bartender laughed, before pouring a glass of something brown and sliding it across the bar to Claude, before walking away - still laughing. He took the small cup and sniffed it - surprised how strong it smelled.

"I'm going to be honest with you," he glanced over at his new friend - still holding the glass before trying it, "I'm...a bit lost here because half this alcohol just doesn't exist where I'm from. We have wines, beers, meade. A few questionable things people make that sort of taste like poison," not his poisons, "So I'm just...trying to not look like a complete dumbass here. It's...not working, is it?" he asked, with a quiet laugh, scratching his neck, as he finally took a sip of the whiskey.

It burned, but he liked it. He took another sip.

He knew the guy had to be closer to his twenties if not in them, but it was probably good to double check. He was naive, something Shinjiro had noticed seemed to gravitate toward lately. Lucky for him, his maybe-apathy, maybe-patience was one of few main traits that defined the taller guy.

Too bad Shinjiro had went for one of the final swigs of his beer, because he couldn’t help but almost lose it. Don’t put rocks in it? Did he hear that right? Was this dude serious? He definitely looked serious, considering he himself didn’t laugh. Shinjiro wondered exactly how someone wouldn’t know what that meant - either he was playing dumb or he was from somewhere wildly different than himself.

Then it clicked. Mead. He was subtly looking around the room confused and in awe for probably a lot of reasons. He was aware that meaderies were still a thing, but usually it was associated with. Knights and dragons and all that shit, right? Is that literally a thing in other worlds where people could come from?

He had to be from a time before all of this shit, which… Well, his mind wasn’t gonna work that far. He’d figure it out as time went by. At this point he was pretty sure he wouldn’t be going anywhere. Maybe it was possible he was from like, a fairy tale or something. Definitely pretty enough.

“Nope.” Was the only thing that came out of Shinjiro’s mouth, not exactly wanting to be an entire asshole but… yeah, he was looking pretty dumb. Not that it was entirely a bad thing - Pandora was sure to yank people that were from other eras or whatever all the time. Shinjiro thought those people stayed more outside of the city, but it wasn’t impossible for them to just enter into a new region of the box.

“You just get to Pandora or something?” God, he was the worst with small talk and painfully aware of it. But Shinjiro was genuinely interested now - one of the only times he’d had an actual, meaningful interaction with a stranger it had turned out they were literally from the same place. From the same country. Relatively the same time. Probably from an alternate timeline like everyone else Shinjiro knew that came into the box, but from the same region all the same. He'd visited his own damn high school and hung out at the club his other friend ran for god's sale.

This dude definitely didn’t come from Japan in the early 2000’s, one could be sure of that.

Maybe his arrival into the box was a shitty one, with the injuries and the confusion between everything that had happened literally the week he got there. Like, the twins existing and the whole 'the guy who signified the end of the world is here too' thing. But thinking about it, it wasn’t that difficult of a process to get used to the new things. The portals? Yeah, that was something he wasn’t into. The whole fact people could go to space and that magic and shit was real or whatever in some parts was hard to grasp, but… he was aware of it beforehand. He’d heard of the past and seen movies about stories where things were just like that. He couldn’t imagine arriving to a place from say, the Medieval times just to go to the city. People would have no clue what anything was, how could they possibly get used to a world they probably haven’t even thought of?

Or was this just some dude playing dumb? Either way, he was so used to having someone close to him being completely new to life so he'd humor this new friend.

“Name’s Shinjiro.” Probably should at least kinda introduce himself if this dude wasn’t leaving. He wasn’t even making as much of a face as he would’ve expected someone that had never tried whiskey before, and he had some silent respect for him. “Oh, and... people don’t put... rocks in that shit. 'Rocks' just means 'ice' at the bar."

Claude groaned at Nameless Smokey Man confirming that he - in fact - looked like a dumbass. Wasn't exactly what he was going for but…

"Well what's done is done," he shrugged - patting his new friend on the shoulder - allowing his hand to linger there for a moment before pulling it back. If he was going to get checked out on that level, might as well get some touching started. He knew this dance well.

A nice little way of confirming that he saw the glances, and didn't mind them. Welcomed them even. Trying to break a bed-frame seemed like a better way to spend his evening then anything else he had in mind. Plus the idea of being fucked by something that was his choice sounded simply marvelous.

Claude sipped at his whiskey - eyeing the liquid with keen interest. It was sort of disappointing there wasn't anything quite like this back home. It created a clean burn that traveled all the way to his stomach, yet rested in his mind.

He'd definitely be taking a bottle of this back with him. Dimitri, Edelgard, and Byleth all could use something like this in their lives.

"Little over a week," he shrugged, "My friends and I sort of arrived together in the Dread Wastes. I...needed a bit of air and left them back in Cascade Bay, once we got to Lethe and portaled there," he explained - setting his glass down on the bar and running his finger around the edge, "Centria seemed interesting, so I hopped through and here I am."

Not exactly his most thrilling story.

Claude glanced over at the introduction - smiling to himself at the fact he was actually getting the guy to both warm up and talk more. Aw, look at him making friends. Hilda would be so proud.

"Claude," he introduced, enjoying that he didn't have to use his full name to remind everyone of his house and rank and blah blah blah. None of that shit mattered here, and he appreciated that. Nobody knew what a von Riegan was, and that's how it was going to stay.

"Nice to meet ya Shin-jeer-oh," he played with the name a bit, offering the guy a smirk before letting his own gaze wander just a tiny bit.

Then...some clarity on the rocks situation. Claude rose a brow.

"...Then why not just say with ice. And I'm guessing neat means without ice?" Claude sighed, rubbing his temple, before flicking his own small braid. Taking a deep breath, he finished it off - cringing with a quiet, "Ah fuck that was a mistake," before putting down his glass.

    "Another?"
    "Fuck me up."

He had another set in front of him.

"So...question for you Shinjiro - you into guys or just like looking?" he asked, glancing over as he sipped his new glass of whiskey.

    Was he already feeling it?
    Probably.

Yeah, this was only going to end up one of two ways. Either Shinjiro would decide he's done and walk away with the guy passed out at the bar, or he'd be bringing him home. Shinjiro noted how long his new friend's hand lingered, making it obvious that he'd also taken the hint. He was aware that his eyes were heavy on him when he first came up - he was admittedly only nursing a slight buzz, but it still loosened up his control a little. No big deal.

This guy was out of his league, no doubt about it. But he'd been spotted and sat next to anyway; he might be able to run with this.

Not that he would stick around if he decided he was really into whiskey now. Sure, Shinjiro needed a release of some kind, but he wasn't about to take advantage of a lost pretty boy who just discovered a new drink. He wasn't that great of a guy, but even he wasn't that much of a tool - rough time or not.

Shinji hadn't traversed much out of Ark City. There was his arrival at the dinosaur park and he'd taken a walk around Pandopolis a few times, but he hadn't really explored past that. He'd of course heard a bit here and there about the other regions, but hadn't done too much research into them. All he knew about those specific places were that they weren't anywhere he spent too much time at. So he didn't actually follow him that closely, just nodding along here and there to his story to let him know that he was at least kind of listening.

God. He wasn't sure if he liked his name being said like that... or if it'd have to continue. There was something playful about him and that was at least interesting though, so he wouldn't say anything. He watched as Claude downed the rest of his drink, and he successfully got a chuckle out of him. Now that's the face he was expecting.

Claude probably wasn't as stupid as he was acting, and Shinjiro could kind of already see that, but the game was fun. He'd play along at least for one night.

His hands on the glass looked pretty calloused compared to how pretty and young the rest of him seemed - Shinjiro wasn't about to ask why, but he figured it had something to do with where he'd come in from. People in other times had to fight a lot, had to hunt or whatever. Funny to think they'd have time to know how to flirt with strangers at the bar, as well.

Oooooor outright call them out on it, that was new. Claude's comment on his gaze very audibly startled him, causing one of his coughing fits. It'd been a while since he was shocked into one, and he did his best to stop it, but Claude proved to be too bold. He got him.

It had been over a year since the last time Shinji hooked up with anyone to his knowledge, and a few months prior to that since he'd been with a man. He was confident that he'd remember where it counted though, so he made a quicker recovery than he probably would've otherwise.

"Been a while since I was with a man, if I'm being honest. What, I make it that obvious?" Of course he had, he knew damn well. But it was his turn to play dumb for a second, giving Claude a knowing smirk. "Sorry for staring, I don't mean to be that rude."

He didn't have to ask if Claude was into men, he'd been able to tell since he sat down. It was only a matter of time before it came up, but damn, this guy was gutsy. Maybe he would be, too. He finished off the last of his beer, leaning back a bit. He knew the answer to this question, too, but just in case... "You ever been on a motorcycle before?"

Claude smiled as Shinjiro choked - enjoying how off-guard the comment had caught him. Sometimes it was fun to be blunt - just to see how people would react. He was normally more of a fan of never speaking plainly - meaning hidden under a riddle or a glance or a wink. But reactions were worth it. The stoic man beside him losing his cool as Claude casually asked if he liked men. It was normally a gamble back home. Sometimes people would act interested, but their title or rank would make them back away if Claude pushed the issue. Even with his own...somewhat new status, he never really cared much. What did it matter, anyway? Sex felt good, and it was nice to let off steam once in awhile. Then there was the pressures of a nobleman or woman breeding to keep their bloodline and crest going. This...this was why he needed his dream to come to light.

But Pandora was something else entirely.

"Juust a bit," Claude smiled, "And do not worry if it's been awhile. I'm more a fan of taking rather than giving," he leaned on his hand as he glanced over at Shinjiro with a wink, "And stare away. It's an excellent view if I do say so myself."

All pretenses out the window since it was apparent what they were both after. Might as well have fun with it. No reason not to. Shinjiro thought he was attractive - an opinion that was correct - and Claude thought he was not so bad himself. Not exactly the most beautiful man, but he liked him. Fun to play with. Had that sort of...strong stoic exterior that Claude enjoyed poking.

Reminded him a bit of Byleth.
Ah, that was not a pleasant thought for the moment.

Banishing the thought, he sipped at his whiskey - drinking it slower this time around, since he was now very aware of its Full Power.

"I can't tell if you're hitting on me again, or if this is a genuine question," he arched a brow with a smile, "But no, I have no idea what a motorcycle even is - so I doubt I've been on one. A horse? Yes. A chair? Yes. A wyvern? Yes. Pegasus? Unfortunately, no. Car? Also no - but I know what those are. They're the--" he made a motion with his hand, "Fast things."

Like Shinjiro didn't think he was a bottom from the moment he pushed himself over to him. Maybe it was the tank top. Or the braid. Or the literal everything else about him.

The verbal confirmation was welcomed anyhow - making a contract. Just solidifying that they both had the same thing in mind, and there were no questions at all about it. He was definitely as nice to look at as he was boasting to be - again, far out of his league but he wasn't going to ask any questions.

Dude was at a bar. Most likely looking for someone easy and found it. Arriving in Pandora sucks. Claude probably had a lot of bullshit to work out, like everyone did. Who knows, the guy might've even had some weird alternate timeline shit happen like Shinjiro did. If things were different when he himself arrived into the box, he might've reacted in a similar way.

But his girlfriend was here, however briefly. However distantly. However lonely she left him feeling. How confused, overwhelmed, sad, desperate she left him feeling. He wasn't ever going to be upset with her, only with how Pandora presented her to him and then took her away again when he had just come to terms with the crazy situation.

Then there was who he had at home, too. He wasn't completely blinded to his feelings, no matter how dumb he'd play. He was really starting to notice a pattern, realize that he might have been developing something he wasn't ready to admit yet. For someone that saw him as... a parental figure, of all things. If anything. If he was going to get rid of the discomfort and stress of whatever mess he was getting himself into, maybe filling his night with a stranger's company would suffice.

He'd sit with Claude a while longer once his drink was gone, just letting himself soak up the rest of the night and get rid of whatever buzz was lingering. He was sure Claude's would last a bit longer, planning to take him hoe on more of a scenic route if he was into the idea of going along with him. Or into the idea of trying out something as mechanically new as a bike.

"Yeah, they're pretty fast." Shit. He totally was saying he was from medieval times. That itself was somehow kind of sexy. Sure, he wasn't going to believe everything he was saying, but dragons or whatever existing somewhere? Kind of neat. Pegasus? Fucking cool. Maybe he'd press for more information on stuff like that later, but there were more pressing matters. They'd already confirmed they were into it, so he didn't even feel all that bold anymore. "Definitely hitting on you again. I've got another helmet if you want to take a ride back to my place."

So whatever a motorcycle was, it was fast So...it was probably one of those fast-things he had seen speeding around Ark City since arriving. Faster than any horse or wyvern could even hope for - even on a good day. Likely changed...everything when that sort of technology was achieved. With transit that fast, nothing was really out of reach. Claude couldn't help but wonder if it helped with the whole 'border' problem his time had. People stuck in their little opinion bubbles - not willing to see beyond their borders as anything other than savages.

    He took another drink.

Claude smirked at Shinjiro at the confirmation that he was - in fact - hitting on him again; even followed by a direct invitation back to his place. And here he had an entire plan to slowly work his way to that point. A bit more idle banter. More suggestive looks, with occasional touches. But perhaps this wasn't the sort of night for that kind of dance. Which...he found strangely relieving. Maybe his heart wasn't as into playing the game as he realized; just wanting to get to the punchline already. Strange, since flirting was one of two modes with him. Probably just a result of everything that had happened since coming into Pandora.

Not really something to worry about.

"I appreciate your directness," he smiled, "...Something something not the only thing I plan to ride tonight, something something," he shrugged, not even really trying anymore - pulling his newly acquired wallet to pay for his drink. Luckily they had made a bit of coin while in the Wastes; Claude making a point to transfer over the currency as soon as he arrived in Ark City.

The bartender eyed them both with a smile as she accepted his money.

    "Have fun."
    "Oh we will. We will."

Turning his attention back to Shinji - he made a motion to the door, "Lead the way to this mysterious motorcycle."

He really had been planning on at least paying for Claude’s drinks after saying something so direct, but he settled on maybe getting him a bottle of something in the future. Not that he planned on him being around for very long, but he was at least interesting enough to not just immediately kick out in the morning and never speak to again.

Shinji didn’t really want to blow the guy away, and probably should be explaining things better… he was patient, especially with people like this apparently, but he didn’t want to make him feel like he was going to be a teacher. He didn’t want to be his guide on all things Pandora and Modern Civilization, he wanted the guy in bed. If he had questions, he’d answer them. But if he was just going to go along with it, so was Shinji.

There was a bit of him that wondered if Claude’s confidence was organic or not, sure he was good looking enough to have it but there was something… off. Maybe he wasn’t making the best decision. Maybe he should be sitting down with the guy and talking about his problems or whatever.

For once in his life, be a good person and be there for a stranger rather than do whatever he was planning to do. That’s what this place was for him, right? A second chance? A place for him to prove to himself that he wasn’t a complete asshole?

Nope, too bad. No matter how much he thought about it, he knew he wasn’t a nice guy. He wasn’t there to help him with anything, and he wasn’t going to be any good at helping make his arrival any easier. In a way, maybe he even was, but he wasn't going to dwell on it for too long.

“Shit’s way faster than you’re used to, so you have to make sure you’re not gonna fall off or hit your head.” He had a feeling he’d go a lot slower than he normally would on the way back, just in case he wasn’t as prepared for this as they’d thought. If he wanted to just do the portal thing and walk the rest of the way, so be it. He wasn’t going to be completely heartless. He wasn’t even tired of being someone that would show people new to shit around, if he was being honest with himself. It was nice to be a guide, and maybe he should slow down. But he didn't want to project on this guy. He already was, and he was doing his best to shove it down. Apparently his type was turning into 'new to everything,' and if his friends found out about this they'd probably start connecting the dots.

He handed Claude the second helmet that was kept in the compartment, opting to help him get it on if he needed it. It just occurred to him that he’d picked one with yellow accents, which of course went along with what his new friend was wearing but - fuck, he was in too deep. Either he’d just grabbed one because the color made him happy or he was subconsciously already thinking of Ryoji’s safety if he wanted to go along with him places. Either way.

Stop fucking thinking about him when you’re bringing a stranger home.

Shinjiro was on the bike, motioning for Claude to get on, helping him the best he could. Sure there was a bit of a struggle, and it got a laugh out of him, but he figured it out just fine. “Hold on tight and don’t move around much while we're going. If it’s too much just let me know. If you need to stop you just gotta say the word.” He'd be repeating something like that again soon.

So that's what a motorcycle was.

Claude crossed his arms in front of his chest and nodded with a smile, "I have no idea what I'm looking at but - for whatever reason - it makes me want to take your pants off even more. So that's nice," he laughed - before accepting a helmet.

Designed pretty different from what they wore back home. Same idea - but with probably better materials than just...steel or iron or silver. His finger ran over the yellow accents with a smirk, "And it's even in my color. How thoughtful of past you," he slipped it on, before climbing onto the bike behind Shinjiro - not hesitating to cozy up to him.

Despite it being a weird shape, it was basically a horse. Or...wyvern, as he was slightly more familiar with those, honestly. Idea was the same, just with less circles at the bottom, and more angry thrashing.

"My dad's had me riding on the back of a wyvern with him since I was a kid. I know the drill - even if this thing is...not quite like that. Same ideas, at least," he shrugged, setting his chin on Shinji's shoulder because he wanted to see the view ahead of the motorcycle, "Don't worry about me though - I'll be fine. Takes more than a fast thing to kill me. Better things have tried."

"Wyvern, huh? That's actually cool as hell," Shinji muttered, just loud enough for Claude to hear him. "But yeah, it's probably gonna be nothing like that. Dunno. Never came into contact with one of those."

Did this guy come out of a fucking fairy tale? Was he some sort of prince or something? What'd he mean by all that shit?

Huh. He was probably just trying to play himself up so that he sounded sexy. Which was working for him, obviously, but it was fun to think about. Still, he figured riding something that actually would go pretty fast with such strength might be comparable, so they were probably going to be just fine. If he was telling the truth, of course.

"You know, I don't know how much of what you're saying is bullshit just to get in my pants. But either way, 's kinda sexy."

Because he really was out here trying to convince Shinji was some sort of noble, talking big. Even if it wasn't true, he was still hot.

Shinji did end up going slower than he would've otherwise, content with how close Claude clung to him. He made sure to stay extra safe with his passenger, though he did take a few turns just to give them some extra time, let him take a nice look at what the city was like. He stopped in front of the correct house, almost terrified of going to the wrong one. Again. And embarrassing himself in front of his Princely friend.

He hoped to himself as he got off of the bike and helped Claude that everyone would be at least in their own rooms at this hour. He probably wouldn't be able to explain exactly what this guy was doing over, even if Claude probably would've just told them at this point. He didn't want to look anyone in the eyes tomorrow if they saw him disappear with him into his room.

"So, it feel like riding one of your dragons?"

Claude, for once, stayed fairly quiet as they rode. Eyes on the foreign city lights - taking in all the small details, as his grip remained firm on Shinjiro. It sort of reminded him of the stars; but more alive. Not a disembodied light in the sky that made the hardest problems feel small, but each light was connected to something or someone. A light on in an office building with someone who had decided to stay late. A headlight from a car as someone headed out to pick up their kid from a friend's house. There were so many more people here, packed into a much smaller space. It was...beautiful, in a strange way.

He relaxed a bit with a soft sigh.

Claude could practically hear Hilda's approval and Leonie sighing at what he was up to. And maybe it wasn't his best decision. For all he knew, he was headed back to a serial killers house. Wouldn't be the first time, if he was honest. At least he would just deal with it quickly, before leaving. And honestly as long as he didn't serial kill Claude, this guy could do whatever he wanted in his free time.

"Everything I'm saying is to try to get into your pants, thanks for noticing," Claude smiled, "But when I lie, it's about better things than that. As I told you - I'm really, really not from around here. What sounds wild to you, is my average Tuesday."

They stopped in front of house - one that was in a style that seemed common for the ones around it. He accepted the help off the bike - taking off his helmet and raising a hand in desperate need to save his hair. All the lights were off. He handed off the helmet, and laughed at Shinji's comment.

"Actually...yeah a bit. Smoother. Definitely smoother. Wyverns tend to," he made a wave type motion with his hand, "Because of the whole...living and flying thing. Motorcycles don't really do either...that I'm aware of," he eyed the motorcycle, "Liked it though. How does it feel to steal a man's motorcycle virginity?" he winked with a laugh - following Shinji to the house...honestly curious what the inside looked like. He knew they'd likely just head straight for the guy's room. That's why they were here, after all. No rules against looking while they walked, at least.

If things were a lot different, Shinji might have invited him to sit down, showed him around, answered questions. Maybe got to know him a little better, ask about his own world. The whole princely talk was interesting, and he wasn't going to lie to himself and say that he hadn't actually picked up a catch.

But this wasn't just an invite to come and hang out. It wasn't going to be a cute night with them having some sort of candlelit tea time with an interview segment.

There was an end goal. Even if he hadn't thought of how to bring Claude back to wherever he came from afterward. They'd get to that later. Maybe he'd make him breakfast in the morning and take him back to the city, he could find a portal from there.

"It's blowin' my mind that those exist somewhere. But yeah, you've got good control as long as you pay attention." He definitely wasn't an expert, and had only rode a few before this purchase. He never really wanted to ask his friend if he could ride hers, she was kind of intimidating on it. And there were those few times when his buddy back in Japan brought him around, back in his delinquent days, but those were far gone.

    But. A dragon. God damn.

Tired of making him wait, Shinji's hands found Claude's waist as they got to the doorstep. He pulled him in closely, opening the door and hauling him along inside with him. "Feels good. Maybe we'll take care of a few other firsts for ya, tonight, too."

Hopefully not too many. He wasn't really looking to help out an actual virgin on his escapade... but he was fairly confident that he didn't have to worry about teaching him anything in that regard. As far as he could tell, there were no barriers between this language at all. Even if they were from wildly different times, this was the same back and forth as it always was.

Noting that practically all of the lights were off and there were no noises at all coming from the rest of the house, Shinji nodded for Claude to follow him. He thought about asking him if he wanted to check shit out before they just went and did what was going to happen, but he'd ask in the morning. He let him know they were going to be up the stairs, and led him by the hand into his room.

When the door was closed behind them, Shinji pushed him up against it. His hands were at Claude's hips, and he was bent down just enough so that he was less than an inch away. "I ain't gonna make you stay if you don't wanna. I know you want me to take you, and I'm gonna, but if you need me to stop just let me know." He'd already been given consent, but there was always something about making sure that it was all good before sealing the deal itself. Shinji knew how crazy it might've felt to come home with someone he picked up at a bar, not knowing if he was going to be a nice guy or not. He wasn't the best, but at least he had that kind of decency.

As soon as he got the okay, one of Shinji's hands got itself lost in Claude's hair instead and he was letting himself lose all thought that wasn't hungry for more. He let himself kiss this stranger, pushing more of himself into the moment and all of his thoughts of regret away.

Who cares who sees him in the morning.

The arm around his waist was welcomed - a sort of starting point for what was to come. Claude happily leaned into the touch, pressing his shoulder against Shinji as he laughed quietly and shook his head - keeping his voice hushed because of the probably sleeping people that were likely inside; tucked away in their rooms.

"Unless you have an entire pile of scifi-sex toys, I think that'll be hard to manage," he admitted, with a wink - almost impressed with the subtly of the question. A nicely worded 'hey are you a virgin' - but phrased almost as a flirt. Yet Claude's reaction would answer a whole pile of questions no matter what he said. Shinji came across as the sort to operate life like a blunt-force object - at least from what he gleaned so far. So this was a nice little surprise.
Maybe this quiet hat man was more than he seemed.

A nice little puzzle to put together.

Once the door was unlocked - Claude was happily guided up to his room. He couldn't exactly help but look around as they moved; everything buried in a layer of shadows - but he was still curious. Other than a few magical future things, it all seemed about the same as back home. A common area to sit and talk, a 'television' at the head of the room. That definitely wasn't from where he was, but learned of what they did not that long ago. What looked vaguely like a kitchen sat beyond that - but the details were too hazy with the darkness. And...that was about all he was able to catch, before his back was pushed up against Shinji's door after it closed.

Hands on his hips as he was offered an out.
    Aw, look at him.
And they say chivalry is dead in this time, for whatever reason.

"My safe word is citrus," he smiled - voice low as he ran a finger over Shinji's lips, "But in all seriousness," he held his gaze, "I'm exactly where I want to be. I want to try to break your bed with you because I am in desperate need of being fucked at the moment," the hand that brushed against Shinji's lips, cupped his face, "Sweet of you to ask, though. A proper gentleman."

The kiss was more expressive than a single word Shinji had spoken that night. Claude making a faint pleased sound as he was pressed harder against the door.

It...had been awhile, hadn't it? His body responding harder than he was expecting to the touch. Basically since Teach got that minty-fresh upgrade, he had backed off of doing anything outside of research. There were a few opportunities since then, but found himself in the library instead of someone's bedroom. And in the end he was only able to figure out the most minor things, and it couldn't stop the war. A war that just kept going, if his friends were any indication.

So...yeah. Getting laid on this particular night was a bit overdo.

His hand slid to the front of Shinji's pants between them; heel of his hand moving up and down his slowly more and more obvious length. Teeth catching Shinjii's bottom lip for a beat, with a smile, before releasing it. This felt good.
Really, really good. No more trading sleep and sex for books.

He just really wasn’t expecting to hear the term ‘safe word’ come from Claude’s lips, for some reason he didn’t ever think of that being something they needed in Ye Olde times. Were… kinks still all over when wizards and shit were? Did knights at the round table have some sort of weird fetishes that -

Nope, done with that. At least it had been established, just in case, even if it was a joke. He didn’t plan on going that far with this guy, but he’d play it by ear. It was pretty evident that this guy was at least a little bit of a freak, considering the circumstances. If he took it a little farther than he’d anticipated, maybe he really could get his mind off of all else completely. Perhaps he was in need of a little more than he bargained for when Claude took the seat next to him.

There was something so off about him, like everything he said kinda felt like bullshit, but there was that undeniable charm… It was probably good that Shinji didn’t plan on keeping him around for more than a night.

But he was going to get a hell of a lot of mileage out of this one night.

Even if he wasn’t really one to talk normally, Shinjiro was aware of how vocal he was in the bedroom. As soon as Claude had his hand on him, he let him know that he was definitely alright with it. There weren't probably going to be many words coming from his lips, but there would be absolutely no questions if he were enjoying himself or not. Probably should keep it down because he's not the only person on this floor, but he'd worry about that later.

He attached himself to Claude’s neck, pulling him by the hair to give him the best angle at it. His other hand smoothed down his side, to his back, pulling him ever closer.

After he’d had enough of that, Shinjiro pulled away again to peel off the unnecessary jacket he’d been wearing, tossing both that and his stupid hat to the floor with little care. He’d probably let Claude take the rest off, but at least he’d give him a head start. Thankfully since things were heating up, he wasn’t going to have to worry about being so cold for a while.

His mind was hungry and he pushed away all thoughts of everything else, focusing in on how heavy Claude's breath was getting already and the feel of his skin as Shinji sneaked his hands into his shirt. He let them roam for just a bit, lifting it up and over Claude's head and discarding it.
