I have a question about a character that doesn't exactly have an established personality. Would they be accepted if their personality is headcanoned or not? They have a vague backstory and I mostly go by headcanons.

Say like W.D. Gaster from Undertale. Everyone once knew him as the Royal Scientist up until an accident one day with his own creation, the CORE, shattered him across all time-space and erased his existence in the Underground all except for Sans who still knows of his existence. The thing is that he's not dead or alive just stuck in limbo within the Void, he exists but at the same time, does not.

Not much is known about his true personality except that he's a smart individual, a workaholic but also a respected individual yet his personality has shifted in a more mysterious tone while in the Void due to his prolonged stay there overlooking the different timelines of the Underground.

It's fine to play a character even if they don't have a ton of detail on them. There just has to be enough to build a basic starting point from. Using headcanon is absolutely fine to flesh out a character, it just can't be used to contradict or change established canon.

    I hope that helps!
