    4 August, Year 108
    Cascade Bay, Crystal Vales

Though he had been stuck in the world of Pandora for almost two months now, Cornelius was no further forward in finding his way home. That, and he found that he was starting to forget things, things that should have been very important. Faces were becoming blurred in his mind and he was having trouble picturing his home of...huh, that was weird, some kind of Vale? It was that very thought that brought him and his companion to the Crystal Vales, hoping that at worst he could use the sea air to clear his head. It had been a long time since he had been anywhere near a coast. At least, he thought so.

As he steered his ever faithful friend in no particular direction, he grimaced as he snagged his sleeve against something, yet another tear to worry about. He remembered just say enough to know that his mother would probably kill him if she saw the state he was in now, his princely attire torn and ever so slightly ragged. Clothing and supplies weren't exactly easy to come by when you were perhaps the only one in the world that was less than two inches tall. He'd never seen so many 'big people' but the ones he had personally met had seemed friendly enough. Only a few had tried to swat him and/or Buzzbee, but that taught him to moves out of arms reach of most people. Another difficult feat, considering that there were more than just humans here, some even bigger and maybe even scary looking. Not that he would back down from a challenge, but at the same time he liked living.

He also wouldn't admit that maybe, just maybe, he was in way over his head this time. He had survived so far by seeking shelter when needed and helping himself to berries and other food items (or what he assumed to be food). It was little like when he had been...looking for someone one. Who? Ironically, he remembered something about Forget-Me-Nots. Not very helpful. Either way, it was starting to rain, and that wasn't good. Time to find some shelter again, maybe wait out the oncoming shower and find a relatively clean puddle to give himself a wash. Buzz too.

There were a few residences close by, but only one that seemed to have a point of access. Surely they wouldn't mind him hanging around for a little while? He was small enough to stick out of sight, but keeping his friend from wandering was another thing entirely. So far, even if Buzz had been spotted, he had attracted a lot less attention than a by now more than slightly bedraggled fairy prince. Even in his own world, he knew that he should try and stay out of sight of the big people. For all the good that had done him in this world!

After shaking themselves dry, the teen went about finding somewhere to dry off, maybe an open fire? That was assuming anyone had such things around here (he hadn't come across many in Centria). After finding a spot, he was just about to relax and admire the intricate pieces of what looked like jewellery that had suddenly caught his eye, he heard footsteps approaching and fluttered behind a curtain. Not the best of hiding places, granted, but it was somewhere. Maybe if he didn't feel so confused and hungry, he might have thought a little straighter. Now where was Buzz?

Most days he spend outside, ever since the weather got warmer and he rid of his last physical ailment. With the rainstorm coming in though he decided to stay home and work at his jewelry, since selling that still provided his income. A couple pieces already finished and left on the window bench to dry, the window itself cracked open to let air in, he went to the kitchen to get some snacks and something to drink. Leaving just long enough for a certain fairy prince and his flying friend to sneak in unnoticed.
The bumble bee in the room Daniel noticed quite soon, with it not-so-silent flitting around. Frowning for a moment he just mustered it, then decided that it probably wasn't Alex. The shapeshifter would've turned back by now or done something normal insects didn't do. Also he was sure to last have seen her heading out for shopping. “Why hello little one...” he muttered more to himself, setting his things down. “What are you doing here?” A look outside told him enough. “Yeah, wouldn't want to be out in rain either.”
So no gentle shooing it back out – he respected all living beings, let alone because they had been rarer in his homeplace and still amazed him. Humming slightly he placed a small dish on the windowsill and poured some water in, adding two cubes of sugar at the edge. Bees liked sweets, right? At an afterthought he laid out some crumbled crackers too. “You make yourself comfortable till that storm is over.” With the idea to open the window so it'd be easier to leave he pulled back the curtain – and found himself face to face with a tiny winged person. Of course Daniel first froze and then blinked hard, hoping this wasn't some hallucination. He had them, but only when his head still had been acting up... this seemed real. “Uhm... hi?”

It was a good thing that he had dived behind the curtain, as a young man (though far larger than him). Unfortunately, he had lost track of Buzzbee, but that didn't last long, as his striped friend made his presence known in the loudest way possible, right in the middle of the room. Probably looking for him, Cornelius thought as he threw his hand to his face in disbelief. Whether it was at his friends carelessness or his own, it turned out that the young man wasn't one of those that attempted to kill insects on sight. Phew, he thought as Buzz hovered, eyeing the human curiously. Most humans didn't like rain either, but at least for them it wasn't quite as potentially dangerous. Raindrops were so much bigger when you were just over a inch!

Peering gingerly from his spot behind the curtain, he watched in amazement as the other poured a bowl of water, adding a couple of sugar cubes as his wayward companion looked on. Needing little encouragement once it was place on the windowsill (at which Cornelius made sure he was out of sight), the bee landed, his face hovering over as if to gauge if it was truly edible, but then began to drink quite happily. There were crackers left on the windowsill too, and the fairy prince thought of grabbing one for himself. After all, had pretty much been living on crumbs the last couple of months, as well as berries and anything he could get his hands on! In fact, food and water hadn't been too much of a problem, but any more snags and tears on his clothes and he would probably be naked. That would be awkward. Especially if he was caught sneaking into other peoples homes when he was in a hurry to find shelter. Just like what happened next.

Caught of guard for just a split second, the curtain was thrown open and suddenly he was eye to eye with the much larger creature. Sitting on the sill, he blinked back as the two seemed to briefly regard each other, before the human spoke first. Yeah, that was a usual reaction, though he had mostly stayed out of sight, the few who had seen him had assumed that they were seeing things. He gathered fairies weren't a common sight around here. Oh well, time to play it cool.

"Oh, hello", he greeted back with a facade of confidence that this encounter was going to end well, puling himself to his feet as he did so. He had his sword if not, but he hoped he didn't need it. Especially because human skin was tough. "I don't mean to trouble you, we just didn't want to be stuck out in that!", he explained while gesturing to the still raging storm outside. Yes, a storm, for it hadn't gotten any better since he had found shelter. Worse, in fact. "We being my bumble and I", he clarified as Buzz looked up from his meal, perhaps ready to defend his friend if need be. The human seemed nice enough though, as did the sugared water he had been offered. Maybe he wasn't bad?

The fairy decided that maybe he could make things a little less awkward with a little small talk, and so he fluttered over to one of the drying pieces that lay not far from him,.

"Did you make these?", he asked while keeping his distance so as not to damage anything (or get stuck). Again, that would be awkward.

The tiny guy talked back, which somehow made this more normal. Talking meant… thinking, being a person and that was easier to handle than some magic that just barely eluded his grasp of understanding. That he and the bee were connected was an easy conclusion to draw even without explaining, Daniel nodding at it. “Understandable.” He murmured, glancing at the storm outside. Reminded him of home, the times it did rain there usual being similar violent storms. For sure he wouldn’t send anyone out into that.
“Ah, yes” he replied. “I’m collecting the materials, polish them up a bit, fit them together in jewelry and then sell it” Still surprising how good that worked. “Be careful, some of those got mended together with molded metal” Easy to get burns and it would be a bit difficult to help someone so small. But he could offer some other things. “Your striped friend looks to be quite content with his sugar water – do you need anything? Some food, a warm drink, a cloth to dry off and warm up in?” The storm looked like it might go on some hours, so they might as well get comfortable.

Understandably, yes, he should think so, but at least this guy didn't seem hostile. In fact he seemed quite happy when he took an interest in the trinkets, materials he had apparently gathered himself to make into jewellery,. They had metal smiths and jewellery makers in The Vale of the Fairies. Vale of the Fairies? Oh, that must be where he was from! Why was his memory so scrambled all of a sudden? For all he knew, he was one of the people he had just listed, and he glanced down at his hands. He then also remembered the sword that hung from his hip, and decided that was unlikely. At least he could remember his name, and that of his insect friend, but everything else? Yep, there was that headache again, he thought with a frown as he put a hand to his head.

The larger male spoke again, commenting that Buzz was enjoying the sugared water and asking if he needed anything. It was a kind offer, but he really didn't want to trouble him nor make himself look vulnerable or something equally embarrassing and potentially pride shattering! Then again, survival was more important than pride, and he had never been in this kind of situation before. He didn't think. Maybe there was one time, but he had been busy looking for something important. Not that he could remember what at this point.

"I'll be alright, that is...achoo!" he interrupted himself with a loud sneeze that startled his bumble friend and caused him to hover slightly from where he was previously enjoying his sugary treat. "Sorry Buzz. Oh, that's Buzzbee, my bumble!" He apologised before introducing his friend. He should probably introduce himself too. "I'm Cornelius, it's a pleasure to meet you!", he then added with a slight bow. He had a feeling he would be staying here a little longer than he had planned. Besides, it was good manners to introduce oneself! Especially if you were going to take advantage of there hospitality, however reluctantly.

"I don't want to be any trouble, but maybe I could use a little drying off", he added sheepishly, realising that he was probably catching a cold from being out in the storm. Yes, once he was dried and warmed up, he could be on his way. Preferably to someone who repaired tiny clothes. He'd certainly looked better!

He then remembered the crackers that had also been left for Buzzbee, who had now settled and eyed him as he made his way closer. The fairy prince (not that he remembered that at this point), picked up a small piece of cracker. It seemed tough, but he was pretty hungry. Maybe...

"Do you mind if take this? Been a while since I ate, and Buzz seems happy enough"
, he asked hopefully. Maybe it couldn't hurt to swallow his pride, just for a little. Besides, maybe he could repay this kindness somehow.

The sneeze proofed his suspiction that the little guy had gotten a bit too wet right, especially since even his bee friend seemed concerned. Buzz and Cornelius it was. “Daniel.” he introduced himself and since shaking hands wouldn't really work and him not knowing how to do that bowing properly, he tipped two fingers to his brow in a military-style greeting. Like tipping a hat just that he had none.
Still leaving the option to decline he still smiled when his offer got taken. Sometimes a little bit pride swallowed could go a long way. He knew, having been in not so different situations before – taking the path of suffering unless forced to stop until some incidents showed him how deep he'd fallen. “It's no trouble. Wouldn't even be trouble if you were ten times bigger.” Daniel reassured Cornelius, quick to go at a box of cloth scraps he saved up for a certain project, but it wouldn't hurt if they got used in a different way.
“You sure can take some, but... that's old crackers. I'll get you something better.” Chuckling a bit he handed over a pieces of velvet cloth to huddle in and a simpler, lighter cloth to dry off, each big enough to work as a blanket. “Be right back.” It was a short trip to the kitchen and he figured Cornelius wouldn't need much. A bit of bread, some cheese, scraps of meat from the previous dinner, a couple berries and some milk in the tiniest shot glass he could find. Balancing all that on a small plate he brought it up and put it on the windowsill, in easy reach. On a spontaneous idea Daniel grabbed a candle light and placed that over there too. “If you're careful with the flame, you can sure use that to warm up – maybe even for the food. I got some needles you could use to stick it on, they won't get too hot if we wrap something around the handle”

No trouble if he was ten times bigger? Now there was a thought, but for now he was quite content just the size he was. Even if it did make things rather difficult in this new world! Still, Daniel seemed kind enough, greeting him in return with a small bow and a salute like gesture. He still wasn't too keen on hanging around though, but he even if he were crazy enough to fly back out there, there would be little chance of moving the normally restless Buzz back into the storm. Yes, he needed to think of Buzzbee too. They were both in this together, and together they would figure things out, including who they really were. Was he the only one struggling with memory problems right now? Maybe he should ask Daniel.

Ah, old crackers. Now he mentioned it, they didn't feel quite as sturdy as the ones he had come across earlier in his travels through Pandora. He decided not to ask why he thought to feed them to his bumble friend, seeing as he didn't want to be rude, but then at this stage he would have even taken old crackers! Normally resourceful and even a little reckless, food his size had been hard to come by. So when Daniel left the room ( after handing him a velvet cloth to presumably warm up in) returned with a veritable feast!

After using the other cloth he had been given to dry himself off a little (even though both fabrics where almost bigger than he was) his eyes widened as he surveyed the kind of meal he had not seen in a long time, not since leaving home (oh, another memory)! He wasn't even sure what a couple of those things were, but he had previously stated to himself that even old crackers would do, so maybe he should at least try. Especially if he was going to so much trouble, even moving a candle closer so he could warm himself, or the food.

"I...I mean, are you sure you don't mind?" he asked, though the question was practically rhetorical, as Buzzbee also flew over to inspect the new offerings. To him though, they smelled funny. Maybe he would stick to the sugar water. The point was, Daniel wouldn't have gone to this trouble if he had minded, so instead he examined a piece of cheese, eventually taking a small bite. He'd never tried anything like most of this before, but only one way to find out if it was edible!

"Thanks, this should hit the spot!", he thanked him happily, suddenly forgetting his earlier reluctance. Though his past was hazy at best right now, Pandora was full of new experiences and adventures for those brave enough to seek them out! It was said that fortune favoured the bold, time to find out.

He then remembered what he wanted to ask, and he looked back over to Daniel.

"By the way, have you been having any problems with your memory lately? I have, and it's giving me a headache!", he asked, wondering if the other could shed any light on this latest conundrum.

With the crackers not too old he hadn't though anything of giving it to a lost insect that probably wouldn't mind either way. A thinking being though deserved something better and he wasn't going to stop him from sharing with the bee. At the repeated question if he didn't mind Daniel just smiled. Nothing had changed in the past minutes and giving away some scraps really was no issue. Feeding another whole person would've been a different thing, but even that they could afford.
Sitting down at the bed he took out his studying materials, if only to not appear as if he'd only stare at Cornelius eating. Easier talking to the little one with some distance between them, must be tiresome to always look up at people. The mention of memory problems and headaches had him flinch though, rubbing the scar at the base of his neck as some not so nice memories of his own came back. Of pain so severe it put him out for hours. Of forgetting who and where he was, thrown into way to realistic nightmares. Of loosing his balance, his strength, his speed, everything that mattered. “Uhm...” He'd been silent some awkward long moments. “I had some issues with that, but it was... an illness. One I had even before coming here. You might want to get that checked out by a healer or a doctor though. Things going wrong in your head can turn awful.”

Oh, had he said something wrong? The other seemed to flinch uncomfortably, making him think that maybe he did know what he was talking about. He looked up as he tentatively nibbled at a piece of cheese. It was definitely easier talking to bigger people when there was a little distance. In fact, he tried to maintain a healthy distance when having to interact with others in Pandora, especially when they weren't comfortable around Buzzbee.

After an uncomfortable pause, Daniel mentioned that he had indeed had memory issues, but they had been caused by an illness of sorts. Cornelius didn't feel ill per se, but he was starting to wonder if maybe he had hit his head harder than he realised after the fight with...a toad? Now he was starting to wonder of Buzz was the only animal he actually got a long with. It was a good thing he had him here. At least he wasn't lonely and in little danger of forgetting his best friend if he was here!

Either way, Daniel's case had started before he had even reached this world, so maybe it was different. More likely a coincidence, but seeing a healer wasn't a bad idea. That is, assuming that there were any who would see someone so tiny in comparison. Why was everyone here so big?

"Maybe I should. I just know I'm forgetting something very important", he answered, keen to deflect the subject away from Daniel, as he had obviously made him uncomfortable. He didn't want to trouble his new acquaintance any more than he had to, after all! He then had another thought and drew his sword, wondering if perhaps that would remind him of anything, such as how he ended up in a fight with a toad and why Forget me Nots were suddenly so important. It was ironic, if not really frustrating!

"So", he began, hoping to change the subject entirely, "What do you do with the things you make?"

If whatever Cornelius had was similar to his illness he probably would be worse off than he appeared – but Daniel wasn't an expert, had never really wanted to understood what exactly was wrong. All he'd known was that it hurt and then that it had good chances of killing him. That had pulled him more down than the pain could. So all he could offer was advice, food, shelter, whatever else help. From the bites the other took little people didn't meed much.
“I know the feeling” he murmured, having loathed the disorientated moments where there was nothing but a feeling of utter wrongness. Clearing his throat he too tried to get back to a better topic. “I've known two good ones, but neither are in this world anymore... maybe try a hospital in town. They're usual the big buildings with a red cross symbol on them.” If that'd be reachable or too far of a distance he couldn't judge, but would help if asked. Despite the sword he saw no danger – little as it was the weapon would barely do more than a scratch and getting at him was a whole different topic.
“Oh, I sell them. Need some money to live off after all, though I'd never though to get into that trade...” Holding up his math book he added: “It's good as long as I keep studying for something different because it means I can sort out my own time. And most of what I use are natural materials that I can collect on my own.” He still was glad for Rikki giving him a chance in that, encouraging him to try for college. Now it helped because it was different, way different to his home. Republic and his family he would never forget, but it helped to focus on the good things.

Not in this world anymore? He hoped that didn't mean what it sounded like, but then it wasn't as if he'd known them or anything. Still, he wondered what had happened. Had they found a way home? He hoped so, but before he could do so himself, he would need to remember just a little more about where home actually was. Besides somewhere a lot smaller than the buildings which seemed to be bigger than many of the trees he had seen in his time! A big building with a red cross on the front huh?

"A...hospital? Might be worth a try", he agreed as the other then went on to explain what he did with the items he created. He sold them? Looking at them, he wondered just how much they were worth, though from what he said it was maybe just say enough to live off and keep in his home, at any rate, which to Cornelius would be more than enough. Even though it had been a while since he'd had a home.

Daniel then showed him his book, a book on something called math. Oh, he'd heard of that and was capable of the basics, but it wasn't something he had studied in too much detail besides that. At least, he didn't think so.

Sheathing his sword, he furrowed his brow and rubbed his temple. Maybe he should think of asking for directions to this hospital place, but then would they be able to help him? So far in Pandora, he had noticed that most of the services here were directed at much larger people than himself. It had been another reason for his latest frustrations.

Focusing back on his new acquaintance, he listened as he explained that studying would let him do something different, presumably something that he could use make a little more money than collecting items to make jewellery with.

For now though, he had dried himself out enough to be comfortable (not to mention he was feeling rather full) and flew over to examine the book further. One thing he had figured out about this world was that people needed money to survive. For some reason, he didn't think that had been a problem before. Maybe he'd been someone important who'd never had to worry about such things? Either way, it wasn't a bad idea.

"I think you make lovely things, but maybe that's not a bad idea. I've never seen a book with writing that isn't almost as big as me though!", he joked, exaggerating slightly he was sure. He vaguely remembered cutting his way though one, but why he couldn't recall. Something about singing? He liked to sing, but defacing books seemed like overkill. For some reason though, he'd just had to 'cut in'. He doubted Daniel would appreciate that though.

With health he really couldn't help, at best offering to bring Cornelius over. The one in Cascade might even be best suited, since if he were to take a guess the little one was more magic than tech. Living for a year in a place that in theory wasn't suited for him – but it was near the ocean and quiet, safe from all tech that might track him and Alex, Alex was here – while commuting to the modern town, Ark, he had gotten a feel for the difference. As much as you could without a magic intuition.
Guessing what went through the others mind he added some more information about the hospital: “There's a street in front of the house – opposite side to where you came in, a long free stretch of stony ground. Follow it toward more of the houses, just always going along the widest street until you reach a big free plaza, usually full of small temporary stands selling all kinds of things. It's near there.” Daniel had only seen it from the outside, never daring to go in, but it wasn't hard to find. Well, harder if you were so little and he couldn't imagine how to navigate the world if Cornelius weren't able to fly, take a better look at things.
“This whole world is my last chance” he replied with a light shrug. “I intend to make the best out of it.” So far things had turned out good. And even if they went down again he had a safety net of people now, knowing he wasn't alone in it. “Ah, the library got a lot of books – sure there'll be some miniature ones too.” Just some more reassurance, but with Pandora catering to such a variety of people there sure was going to be something. Noticing a bit more about Cornelius appearance now that he was closer and neither were shocked or distracted he thought of something else that might help. “So that's not my usual thing... but your clothes seem quite a bit torn. Since we're stuck inside some more, how about we mend them? Or put some new ones together, I got enough scraps.”

A street in front of the house, opposite to where he came in with a long free stretch of ground. Follow that toward more houses and sticking to the widest street until he reached a big plaza full of temporary shopping stands. If he kept that in mind, he would find this hospital place. The huge hole in his memory was really getting on his nerves, so it would definitely be worth doing.

"Thank you, I'll make sure to do that", he thanked him once again. He felt a lot better already now that he was dryer and had some food in his stomach. Still, if he thought he had problems, then according to Daniel this world was his last chance. His last chance at what, he couldn't be certain, but from the way he shrugged and the look on his face, he must have had it rough where he came from. So he was definitely in no hurry to go home. Maybe he would be if his memory would start working again, but now he was wondering if that really was such a good thing.

"Maybe that's for the best", he shrugged back. "We're here now, and even if we wanted to, we're not going home any time soon. Might as well try and make the most of it!", he added cheerfully, hoping that it didn't come across as being uncaring about whatever had happened in the past.

He folded his arms thoughtfully as Daniel mentioned the books again, maybe even miniature ones. It wasn't a bad idea, might even help jog his memory somewhat, if they couldn't help at the hospital that is. He didn't expect a miracle cure anyway, but at least that would give him something to do, maybe even help him find his place in this world. Even if he had yet to come across and actual person anywhere near his height.

Oh, his clothes! He had forgotten that his clothes had become so torn in his time here, but now Daniel was offering to fix them, even make new ones, despite it not being his usual forte.

"Oh, would you? Thank you, my mother would kill me if she saw me like this!", he explained as he apparently remembered something else. She didn't like tardiness, but that was expected for a..."My mother! My mother's the fairy queen!", he exclaimed, amazed that something at last had come back to him. "Which makes me...oh no..." Yep, that made him the fairy prince then. He sure didn't feel like royalty right now, but that meant he had responsibilities. Responsibilities he probably needed to get back too, although another thing he remembered was that it was usual for him to skip out and go exploring on Buzzbee instead. Putting his and to his forehead, he wondered if anything else would come back, but that seemed to be it for now. Buzz glanced over with a soft buzz, wondering his his friend was alright. He was finally full from the sugar water, but stayed where he was for the time being. The first thing he had learned since coming here was that the people didn't like it when he buzzed around them too much.

Everyone had their own way of making do with the situation. Fact was, no one could get back of their own accord. For him there wasn't much to get back to – Eden of course, but what good he'd be to the little one if all he had left were some months slowly dying? Here was better for him at least and having finally found a happy place keeping it and making the most of it was the best option. He had Alex here.
“I don't think it'd be too hard, as long as you don't mind them not fitting perfectly” Daniel never had done clothes before and on someone so small measurements would be difficult. He smiled as Cornelius remembered his mother, though he had no idea what a queen was and what that'd make him. But good memories of the past were something to treasure. “Well, then lets get you in a better shape!”
Having all the stuff he needed here some rummaging was enough to produce a couple of different cloth pieces, yarn and needles. “Look over which of them feel good for you and aren't too heavy – I'm sure we can make you some simple trousers and shirt at least. And there was a coated one somewhere that'd make a good waterproof mantle.” Pointing at the needles of varying sizes he added: “If there's one small enough for you to handle, you could make yourself a bag?”

It seemed as though Daniel had no idea what he was talking about after all. Oh well, maybe that was for the best, could get awkward if he suddenly got the idea that he thought he was high and mighty or something! Maybe if he asked, he would be happy to elaborate further, but for now it seemed as though the larger male had something else on his mind. Something like the prior topic of getting him looking a little more presentable and less like this worlds tiniest pauper! Oh well, at least he was mostly dry now (though a waterproof mantle would be great), and Buzzbee seemed a lot happier too!

"Oh no, I don't mind at all", he replied as Daniel mentioned that the clothes he was going to try and make might not exactly be the perfect fit. "So long as they don't fall off or are too heavy to fly", he added as he was handed some fabric to look through. Though scraps to his new friend, some of the pieces were quite sizable in his smaller point of view. All except one seemed to be suitable (though it would make quite the weighted blanket, he supposed), so after picking out what he thought might work (though this wasn't exactly his forte), he looked over to the needles as it was suggested he try and make himself a bag. He couldn't help but notice that one or two looked remarkably like his sword, though there was one that bigger people would need the most dexterous of hands to wield! Maybe he could manage it, if he knew where to start. A bag wasn't a bad idea though, especially if he wanted to return the favour and maybe bring him some stuff he could use to make his jewellery. Maybe he would check out this college too, after the hospital that is, but for now he brought his focus back to the present.

"Maybe I could make myself a sack or something, but I don't think I've ever made anything like that before", he warned him, though he was willing to give it a go! After all, it was just another adventure to add to his thrill seeking ways! Okay, maybe not quite that adventurous, but it was at least going to be a new experience (as far as he could remember).

"So", he started as he carefully picked up the needle and waited to see if he could hopefully copy Daniel with the sewing thing, "What are you studying to do, if you don't mind my asking?"

“I'm sure we'll manage.” he reassured Cornelius with a smile. If he could handle tiny, delicate jewelry some clothes sure were doable. They had time and with the little one to look over his work during the process he was confident they could work something out. That he let him look over the different cloth samples was more since they might appear different from Cornelius view and he was the one who'd have to wear it after all.
“That's alright. A sack, pouch or bag isn't hard to do. I can show you how.” These at least he'd done before, to store and sell the finished jewelry in. From that and repairing his clothes he got the scraps too. Starting with that, guiding his new companion through it, seemed like the best start to get back into sewing anyway. “I don't really study yet. Have to catch up on education first – there weren't that many books in my place before.” Not a lie, just talking around the real cause. “Now, let's start off with a square piece...” And with that he launched into a patient explanation how to make something more of a messenger bag, complete with strap to easily carry it.

"Oh, well maybe some day", he responded to the revelation that his new friend needed to catch up on the basics first. He himself had some level of basic education, but he wouldn't mind knowing a little more about this world at least. That is, if these miniature books actually existed here, baring in mind that he had yet to come across any other fairies or anyone else around his size for that matter!

Cornelius listened carefully as Daniel showed him square pieces and how to put them together. It didn't seem all that difficult, in theory, but he knew it might take a little longer that it would someone bigger and more experienced. Still, he wasn't afraid to try, and even Buzz flew over to have a look and 'help'. It wasn't as if they would be going anywhere any time soon, with the storm still howling menacingly outside, so worst case scenario, it would be a more productive way of spending the time until it passed. At least he'd managed to make a new friend though, so maybe today wasn't going to be quite as hard as he thought!

The tiny needle was just say strong enough to penetrate the fabric, though he had to use both hands to manage the actual sewing. He'd gone from having little to no direction in this world, to having a couple of ideas as to what he could do next, though it would be nice to have a little more of his memory back. There was still something very important he was forgetting, but maybe now was the time to concentrate on the present. Like the small messenger bag he needed to make himself!

After a short while, he came up with something that at the very least looked the part (and more importantly, didn't fall apart), so he held it up in front of himself in order to inspect his work. Giving himself a nod of approval, he held tried it on for size. Yep, that should do it, he nodded to himself before glancing over to how Daniel was getting on with the clothes. It would be good to get out of the torn still slightly damp attire and into something a little more comfortable. He didn't mind if it was simple, even if he was apparently a prince!

"Looks good to me, how are you doing?", he asked, referring to his new bag and asking after his friends progress. Not to hurry him or anything, just to see if maybe he could be some further help. He felt he was troubling him enough without rushing him or anything! Besides, he had time.

Some day. Some day he sure would be able to go to university, daring to even enter the building and ask if they'd take him. Rationally he knew it was free education here, without prejudice, but still he expected them to turn him away, like Republic had done. To have something bad happen. So he did learn on his own, having not even told Alex. Maybe she guessed from the books he brought home, but she wasn't caring of going to school so the topic never really came up.
Meanwhile he had his little projects to keep him busy, even though this was a new one. Cornelius seemed to have gone along good for the size difference though and some simple clothes Daniel could do. Wasn't that different from mending his own countless times back on the streets, just that this was enough cloth for the little one instead of a patchwork of scraps. “Looking good” he agreed and laid a pair of trousers and two shirts out on the windowsill. Both still unfinished, trouser legs and shirt arms too long and not yet fixated. “Can you try them on and mark how long you'd like them?” For that he handed over a piece of drawing coal, too small of a stub leftover for him but hopefully just right for his new friend. A vest and coat would follow - it was summer now, but it still could rain, would get colder eventually.

Looking good, and it felt good too. The last thing he needed was trying to carry things only for the seams to come apart. He thought of another time he had tried to carry a lot of items without a bag and subsequently dropped the lot as soon as he stepped off Buzz. Who had he been delivering them to though? This was really starting to bug him, remembering that he had family and status but with something just as important still stuck in the back of his mind. Maybe the healers could find a way to give him a hand, but for now it seemed that Daniel was getting somewhere with the clothes. The legs and sleeves were yet to be fixed into place, but that was undoubtedly why he needed to try them on.

"Alright, you want me to try them on over these?", he asked, referring to the attire he was already wearing, before taking the chalk and pulling the shirt over his head. The trousers he would need to try on without the what he had on already, so he would need to find somewhere a little more private. Being so small compared to most, that wouldn't be a problem.

The shirts both felt nice enough, as though it would be light yet warm (one more so than the other). Only thing was, the sleeves were of course far to long. Taking the tiny piece of chalk, which was no doubt too small for his new friend to use, and marked off where he thought would be best. About the same length as what he had, up to the wrists. Waiting for Daniel to take a look, he then handed the shirt back and flew over to a box of some kind, ducking behind to try on the trousers. Once those too were marked, he changed back and handed them over too. He had to admit, he was looking forward to seeing what the looked like!

"Let's see what you can make of that!", he exclaimed as both were now chalked out for length. In others words, if they didn't fit now then it was his own fault!

“Whatever works for you.” he replied, though for the sake of some decency doing so in private probably was the better option. There were enough spots to do so. He could've marked the sleeves off with a pen himself, but he figured that'd feel awkward to both of them. And Daniel was a bit afraid he would hurt Cornelius in the progress, simply because the other was so tiny. Kids already were so easy to hurt if handled too roughly and this was quite some steps more delicate.
With the markings he had a idea what to aim for. Better a bit too long than too short though, so he cut it a bit above the markings, making up for the finish too. Now, working this wasn't as easy, but hopefully he did a good enough job at the cuffs of both. “Guess that'll do” They wouldn't get in the way, scratch or get stuck on things. “Coat still missing – how'd you like that to be done? A fitting jacket, a longer coat or more like a cape?” Whether he would be able to do this was another thing, but he certainly would try, had already put aside some weather-proof cloth.
