Hi everyone! The original thread got a bit swamped with questions regarding the actual gritty details of Pandora's revamp and what it means, so I'm starting this new thread specifically to collect what you guys want to see in the Pandora Revamp. This could be anything from locations, towns, cities, monsters, wildlife, lore, etc. You can even look at things we currently have in Pandora, and suggest ways they could be changed/updated/moved or what not to fit into the new world. Want to keep the laws of Morhall, despite Morhall's fate remaining uncertain? Let us know, and Pandora might literally take that laws document and drop it into a new community, allowing that piece of lore and development to live on!

If you don't know wtf I'm talking about (or just need a reminder), check out this thread first!

    Regions

And as a quick reminder, here are the regions that everything can be placed in to.

Pandora Town. This will be upgraded to a city or even metropolis. It may be renamed to Pandopolis (but characters can still stubbornly call it Pandora Town). Pandora Town will be a patchwork city, with no clear sense of design, pattern, or theme. It's a mish-mash of fantasy, sci-fi, modern, apocalypse, steampunk, cyberpunk, western, and every other setting you can imagine. Pandora Town might have some open land around it, but it will be fairly small. Just a transitionary region between it and the other regions.

Fantasy-Land. Placeholder name. This area will have areas with different levels of natural magic. Some might get really trippy with super dense levels of natural magic, creating all kinds of weird phenomenon and fantastical landscapes. Other areas can have a really low density of natural magic or none at all, and we can use that to create more low magic/low tech, maybe even historically-themed communities (historical was another that kept popping up in our survey as a missing theme). Fantasy-Land will keep room for clockwork, steam-based, or even magic-based tech. However, the emphasis will be on low to no technology, or magic as a replacement for technology.

Sci-fi Land. This will be the Cosmic Wilderness, but it will be more fleshed out, with landmasses, colonies, alien villages, and what not. The portals in the ceiling to the Cosmic Wilderness will remain, but most other regions will increase the chance of ships breaking down if they land there for too long. Pandora Town, however, features a totally safe space port to park ships in, without issue, indefinitely. We’ll have some floating chunks of land in the Cosmic Wilderness as well to create alien landscapes and such, plus the space station/colony that Nic is currently planning. Sci-fi Land will allow natural magic, but magic won't replace technology like it does in fantasy land.

Apocalypse Land. This is focused on a generally lawless and rugged area. Life is tough, you need real grit to survive out here (or a really good protector). Could be mutants, zombies, toxic landscapes, all sorts of options. As mentioned above, it will serve as a place of exile. But we’ll also create some adventuring hooks to get your good guys here too. Or, y’know, if they just prefer that sort of lifestyle they don’t need any other reason. Whatever tech here will be gritty, easily broken, needs constant maintenance and will only go so far in making life easy. Magic can exist here as well, but it won't be any kind of life-changing/bettering force.

Modern World. This will be an amalgamation of all kinds of modern settings. There will be room for towns with zero magic or weirdness and totally normal stuff. And there will be room for spooky, haunted towns like Misty Hollow and supernatural hotspots and such. Or even crazy conspiracy theories and weird tech and magic and what not. But all with that modern day setting. And yes, we’ll have room for big cities and such too.

    Submit Ideas!

To make things easier for us to keep track of these things, please fill out this quick form when dropping of your suggestions.

Name/Title: The Crystal Forest (lol, I'm terrible at names)
    Region: Fantasy-Land
Description: This would be a combined no-magic and no-tech area, influencing any character who enters. It's basically a magical crystal mining area, and is the sole source in all of Pandora for magitech cores. Magitech might be used in fantasy-land a bit, but they could be hugely important in Pandora Town, and possibly of limited interest in any of the other regions. These crystals, when in their natural environment and with millions of them all clustered in the same area, produce such dense/unique/special magic, that they automatically make anybody else's attempts to use magic go haywire, and also interfere with all kinds of tech. The area itself would feature some kind of mining community/village for the people who work the mine. Crystals can also produce crystal monsters and random magical stuff, so sometimes things might go a little haywire, and the workers could use some adventurers coming in to clean stuff up. Y'know, with swords and clubs and maybe old-fashioned guns and such. Could be a good thing for people to come in and try and steal or take control of too, but they won't have magic or super-powered tech to fall back on. :3

I don't know if this is the right place to put this buuuut always feel free to shoot me down if it ain't xD

    Region: The Shimmering Sea?? Kinda???
Description: Gimme mermaids. Sirens. H.P. Lovecraft-like creepy sea creatures following the call of Cthulhu or something. Just. All the mer-creatures please. That attract ship wrecks and legends. Some cursed areas and creepy stories and hidden caves and whispers of mysterious items hidden away underneath the sea. Just. All the sea lore please.

But also - great idea on expanding on Pandora and stirring everything up a bit. I am sure whatever you'll decide doing in the end - it will be great, as usual <3

    Name/Title: Hellhole
    Region: Apocalypse Land
Description: A literal pit into a hellish underground landscape full of sulfurous spoke, borderline toxic fumes and creatures who love the dark, the heat and the miserableness of it. About twenty feet wide and two hundred feet deep its walls are smooth and glassy, giving it a deceptively shallow appearance. Those who survive the fall to the bottom have a hard time coming back up, so the caves along the side and a hope for a rescue are the only options. Nothing grows here, there is no water save for poisonous lakes of chlorinated, sulfured, overly phosphorous-laden water. The bones of other fallen victims are in splinters covering the ground, all that was left after the monsters consumed them.

    Name/Title: Realm of the Mind
Region: -shrug- Modern or Fantasy I guess?
Description: This is a pocket dimension where the powers of the mind and psychic energy matter more than any kind of physical prowess. Psionic powers are at their most powerful here, and while other kinds of magic and technology function well enough it depends entirely on the belief of the user, or the one witnessing the activity. Otherwise it resembles a typical smallish city with a variety of buildings that have spirits, psychic entities and anthropomorphic personifications roaming it.

Name/Title: Dark Side of the Moon
    Region: Sci-fi
Description: The literal Dark Side of the Moon. A face of this moon is always turned away from the sun, receiving light only from alternative sources. One small outpost has been erected here and is usually used for smuggling, bounty hunting overnights and monster hunting, though there is also a hardened group of people dedicated to living by honest means, generally mechanics, outcasts and general suppliers trying to get by without some watchful Big Brother over them.

    Name/Title: Faerie
    Region: Fantasy Land
Description: I mentioned this in the last thread, but I'd really love to see some Kind of Faery realm in Pandora. Someplace Dangerous, a place that's both very much a part of Pandora, and yet still on t's own plane of existence at the same time; accessible through Fairy Roads and Fairy Circles; found by exploring the underground passages of fairy hills or taking the wrong turn in the depths of the forests. It's a regiond of folklore and contradictions. It a place that is Colorful, bright and lively, with balls and dances hosted each night by the Lords and Ladies of Faerie and Goblin Markets where you can find anything for sale from the seedlings for music trees and phoenix eggs, to love potions and bottled time, to silks dyed in the colors of autumn mornings, storms, and heartache. It is also a place that has its dark and more Gothic sides as well, littered by battle grounds and ruins, with monsters at every turn and inhabitants that are as callous, cruel and easily angered as they are charming and beautiful. The air is so thick with magic that any forms of advanced technology instantly stop working as soon as one enters Faerie

Name/Title: Medieval Monarchy? Roman Styled Republic? An Electoral System Based off of Renaissance Florence? Basically any kind of political system that functions differently that the current town councils.
    Region: Fantasy Land
Description: One of the biggest problems with the major towns right now (and I don't mean to offend anyone when I say this, this is just my own opinion) is that they all feel kind of same-y and basically all some vauge flavor of "modern day" with a few surface details changed. One way to avoid this and to infuse some interesting flavor into these potential new towns would be to forgo the council-style democracy that Pandora basically started and that the other towns just kind of followed along with and copied and do something different. There are tons of different kinds of political systems, especially throughout history and if fantasy land is going to be where the more historically based towns operate, shouldn't there be atleast one town with a more historically based political system? This could be really fun too, if you wanted to play into the different intrigues and machinations that these different political systems could offer. It could just be really awesome?

    Name/Tile: Fieldstaff
    Region: Fantasyland
Description: A mysterious kingdom in Fantasyland that can carry out small governmental jurisdictions if needed, the Grey Castle in the center of it is referred to as "The Heart of All Halidoms". The castle has been repaired multiple times, as Fieldstaff has attacked by numerous people seeking glory and power for themselves. Their soldiers are not to be taken lightly, being filled with a versatile army of great note.

According to legends, when war broke out in Fantasyland, the nobility based in Fieldstaff were one of the first to accept a treaty to bring peace to the kingdoms in Fantasyland. Their participation in war has mostly been recorded as quelling rebellions and interfering in wars between other kingdoms. Due to having allied with many countries along with numerous conquests, Fieldstaff has a high knowledge of Magitech. This makes the city more suited for tourists used to basic technology like a plumbing system and doors that are even more extreme to break into than a basic home in Fantasyland.

Grey Castle earns the nickname due to the amount of peace treaties have been signed there for peace. Be it between Fieldstaff and a former enemy or Fieldstaff acting as a country that would witness peace treaties and provide a safe location where two officials could meet to negotiate treaties. It also has lavish balls, a large dining room, impressive rooms for people to stay in/live in, just to name a few.

The exports of the Fieldstaff are weapons from high-quality blacksmiths, wheat, cotton, wool, Occident-like fruits, and precious building resources like wood and stone. It's location in the eastern part of the center of Fantasyland makes the city country rely on other kingdoms and trade for goods such as crops that are more tropical goods (ex: oranges, coconuts, bananas, etc.) and Oriental goods (dates, rice, soybeans, etc.) in origin. The value and demand of dye is high in the kingdom due to the lack of decent supplies and knowledge of how to craft it. Fieldstaff also has limited knowledge on siege weaponry, only knowing how to make basic trebuchets and battering rams, and have no idea how to utilize siege weapons like mobile keeps and non-magic fire weapons, making their defenses rely on watchtowers and soldiers on-duty.

Government: I think it would be cool to have a monarchy like the UK mixed up with basic concepts of the way the US works. Maybe monarchs are more public figures, while other government officials would be voted for by the people.

Name/Title: The Land That Time Forgot
    Region: Anywhere
Description: An area that's like a classic mash up of all those glorious old movies where the animals were GIANT sized (or the kids got shrunk), dinosaurs roam alongside huge tarantulas and giant snakes! Everything is ten times as big as it should be, even the plants are HUGE, which makes things like venus fly traps dangerous and lily pads can be used as boats. It's like being shrunk down to the size of an ant only...it's just that you stay the same and everything else is massive.

    Name/Title: Enoch
    Region: Fantasy
Description: This town and its surrounding areas resemble that of an ancient Middle Eastern city. A desert surrounds this octagonal town on 3 sides, another three face the sea and the final two face out onto a large terraced garden filled with tropical plants, strange and exotic creatures and a bevy of citizens who keep this oasis between sand and sea lush and green. The garden was built around the oasis as a matter of fact, but it is free for all to enter and marvel at, or take water, so long as they do no damage to its interior.

The city itself is small, the walls are manned with towers, and it is ruled by a council of three women by tradition- one old, one young and one dead. Every two years the council is chosen from among the populace, which boasts people of many types, running the daily business and finance, the military and oversee the dedications to their many gods. Technology is fanciful, mostly clockwork and steam, but deeply elaborate and artfully crafted, and walking the streets you may find anything from an elaborate clockwork snake to a life-sized automaton stage that will play a song for a coin. The people are pragmatic but open and blunt, as well as vaguely superstitious. Libraries, universities and guild halls are present

There is the oddity that the city is equally active at both day and night due to the population of supernatural creatures living there. Vampires, djinn, werewolves and ghosts abound and are considered equal citizens, represented by the council.

    Name/Title: Eastwood.

Description: Wild West themed settlement, surrounded by really big walls to keep out the dangers of Apocalypse Land. People wouldn't have to dress up like cowboys, but the location would just have that fantastic look:

    Name/Title: Zoocadia.
    Region: Fantasy Land.
Description: Not sure about the appearance of this area, but a place where creatures that don't look human (mostly anthros and animals with human level intellects) are in charge of things. Could take the form of a town, but with objects modified so a creature with paws, hooves or fins, etc, can use them. Possibly some kind of caste system with anthro types regarded highly, then animals, then humans.

    Name/Title: N/A.
    Region: Fantasy Land.
Description: No concrete ideas yet, but I'm currently inspired by the Romans and would love to see a settlement (perhaps the capital of Fantasy Land) that's interested in furthering its power and expansion across the region. I think it would make an amazing plot, as well as unite everybody in the area, to have this big powerhouse trying to get the smaller NPC and player driven communities to become part of their Empire and pay taxes to them. Could lead to resistance and a wall being built, think Hadrian's Wall. ;)
