Thea was proud of Dick. Really, she was. He was the Ark City Chancellor, not an inconsiderable promotion, and she didn't have any doubts in his ability to do the job. Not really. Not many, anyway.

Actually, she had rather a lot, but she wasn't going to risk any confidence he had in himself by telling him that. Either way, she definitely doubted that he knew what he was getting himself into. Politics was a hard, hard game, and had very little mercy for anyone who fell behind. She had grown up with it, in it, dodging the fake attempts to show sympathy, keeping her mother out of the fire while the vultures circled. Somehow, though she knew that being a Wayne was hard in itself, she doubted that Dick had had the same experience.

So she had called him, invited him over. Apart from anything, it had felt like forever since they had actually talked, and Thea knew that she was culpable of that, as well, but still. Too long. She refused to think about what that actually made her feel, refused to think about how many expectations she was putting on something which had started, and would remain, some harmless fun. If she occasionally fiddled with her necklace when she was bored, that didn't mean anything. At all. It wasn't allowed to mean anything. Neither of them were in the place for a long-term relationship.

Thea was working out some stress while she waited for Dick to arrive, punching a bag, probably a little too hard. A red tanktop and black leggings was all she wore, barefoot on the mats. She didn't have anything for a while, so she could afford to take her time. She didn't bother hanging nearby the door. Dick had a key, and, even if he didn't, that had never stopped him from getting in. Which was...vaguely concerning, now that she thought about it, but hey. She could stop most intruders, anyway.

So she waited, and if she hit the bag a little too hard, it was accidental.

Dick had been rather busy as of lately. From his Nightwing duties to being a cop and now with his recent political position. It seemed like he'd go from one job to the next. And that meant he didn't have time to be around Thea as much as he'd like.

Not that they had to be around each other a lot. It wasn't like his feelings towards her were getting oddly complicated as time went on. Nope, none of that was happening at all.

So when he was invited over, Dick was glad to hear from her. And so the young Chancellor went over to his not girlfriends place. This time using the front door instead of leaping onto her balcony and through her window.

'Anybody home!' He said as he entered, making his way towards her living room.

Front door. Interesting. Admittedly, he probably couldn't afford to climb in the window. Or, afford to be seen climbing in the window. It had been ages since they'd seen each other, now that she thought about it. Thea punched the bag again. "In the training room!" she called back. A large, padded space, that was also sometimes used for weapons training. Like the rest of her apartment, there was a plethora of hidden weapons. She took a breath, and spun, kicking the punching bag.

And then she swore, because she really should've done that with shoes on.

It was a good hit, though. Thea punched the bag again, and turned, catching it off-hand. "Hey," she said as Dick walked into the room. "How's the office treating you?" And if the question was just...slightly too casual, then nothing could be done about that, because damn it had been ages since she had seen him, and there came a lot of the emotions that she was trying to supress.

'Alright.' Dick shouted out as he followed the sound of Thea's voice. While he hadn't been here in a long while, it'd take more than just that to get him to forget his way around her apartment. So he with ease found his way over to her training room.

Going to lean up against the door frame, Dick smiled as she spoke about how the office was treating him. 'It's been treating me well.' That was sort of a lie. Dick was still trying to learn the ropes of it all which made him feel like he was a bit overwhelmed at times. 'I've been lacked a certain something.'

'Well someone really.' He said making it pretty obvious. 'A really pretty Queen. I might have been neglecting for some time.'

Thea smiled as she saw Dick enter. "Politics never treats anyone well," she replied back, laughing. And if he was going to lie to her, he really had to try harder then that. She could read anyone, and she could definitely read Dick. And then she raised an eyebrow, at his implication of missing something. "Oh? What could possibly be lacking?" she teased. "Making the Ark City government play nice with the other kids isn't your dream job?"

Then he spoke, and through it wasn't anything more then their usual banter, she still felt weirdly...both hurt, that in a way, he hadn't visited in a while, and it was nice that he had visited. She kind of hated it. She could deal with other people's feelings, but when it was her own...she was bad at it. "Oh? I didn't realise you were seeing Emiko behind my back," Thea said, smiling mischievously.

'I've developed a pretend to not hear people thing. Works real well.' At least the few arrogant bastards he could ignore, some people however he couldn't. But his years besides Bruce at parties and banquets really did teach him how to deal with alot.

And of course, Thea joked. 'Here I thought your name was Thea. Forgetting your name must be why you haven't made me your boyfriend yet.' He still had a smile on his face, but in the back of his mind, he didn't know whether or not he was starting this off too strong. Or if he was leading it somewhere she'd rather they not go.
