Genji found himself wandering through the eastern edge of Pandora, along the coastline. There wasn't a lot going on in that area, so it was an opportunity for him to just go for a relaxing walk. The sun was out and so he could see the reflection of the sunlight on the ocean every time he glanced to the right. It was a beautiful sight with the water sparkling like it was magic and the way the ocean expanded so far made it look all the more impressive.

Kaida was by his side, as usual. The green lizard was flying around and alongside him, seemingly pleased while also looking quite energetic that day. Perhaps he needed to let her fly around freely more often, stretch out those wings and just overall be free like a bird... or dragon as it may be.

He kept walking by the coastline, twirling his wakizashi in his hand just to keep his hands occupied while he made his trip around the beach. As he kept going, however, he found someone else in his way. They were a young looking girl with white hair, which was a bit of an unusual sight, but Pandora made such things feel almost uninteresting in the time he spent there.

"Greetings." Genji spoke in a light, gentle tone so as to not potentially startle her. "Are you alone here?"

  2. She decided, a long time ago, that she could never get sick of the sight of thriving nature. It fascinated A2, in all of its organic complexity. She was created in humanity's image, but could never hope to reach their level, for all her circuits, programming and coolant that looked like blood - but wasn't, she was simply a mimic. A doll, a reminder of what once thrived on the world she had come from. It seemed right, in a way, that humanity went extinct and then YoRHa afterward, as if their fates were linked.

Now she was here, in Pandora, a box with boundaries which wasn't that dissimilar from Earth. Their walls were invisible but they were still walls, where else could they go but where they were ordered? She stared at the ocean, occasionally glancing back toward the direction of the lighthouse. She'd decided not to bring Pod with her, leaving it to mull about the lighthouse and talk to any potential visitors in her absence. It was hard work convincing it to stay, the damn thing was stubborn, but she'd succeeded. Besides, it could take care of itself.

As she stood in contemplation, she almost didn't notice the man approaching. People in Pandora were plenty and would often offer a hello, or how are you in passing. As she turned to face him, her gaze was drawn to the green lizard that kept to him in close proximity. "Hello." She replied then nodded, confirming that she was indeed alone. A2 didn't know the meaning of fear, she had, once, a long time ago but now she simply didn't care for potential threats. He had his weapons and she had hers. "What the hell is that?" She asked, pointing at the small reptile, her brow furrowing slightly in contemplation. What an odd little creature. @Genji Shimada

Kaida got the girl's interest very quickly and from the way she voiced her thoughts, she likely had never seen a creature like her before. Dragons were very common creatures in stories, so even if she had never seen one close up before, it was a little odd to him how she didn't seen to be able to identify the lizard at all.

"Her name is Kaida, she is a fire lizard. I was given her when she was still in a egg by a caretaker that was giving all the eggs she had to people who wanted to take care of one." Genji explained and raised his arm up a little, which made Kaida fly over and land on his arm. "She's still only a few months old, but she has been a very special companion to me." He added, petting the lizard a little before letting her fly off.

There was also the matter of the emotional bond, but he figured he didn't need to go in such an in-depth explanation of what she is. Besides, that bond only happened if you were lucky enough to have one imprint on you, not something most people would be dealing with.

"Anyway, I apologize if I am interrupting anything. You looked like you were deep in thought."

  4. “Fire lizard.” A2 repeated, as if that was supposed to help her understand the creature. It didn’t, but she was nonetheless curious about it. Dragons were a thing of the long distant past, mere memories that were buried and forgotten alongside humanity when it was wiped off the face of the Earth. Its cultures, history and legends were gone along with it, if references to such creatures existed in ruins, she’d never seen any. For all she knew, they could have been running wild, the way this man spoke; it was as if they were normal.

She watched the creature fly over on command and stared at it with intense curiosity. As it left once more to do as it pleased, she felt a pang of jealousy over its ability to fly like a bird and the kindness this man treated it with.

“Its okay.” She shrugged. “Not like I’ve got much else to do anyway.” She turned to glance at the ocean briefly before looking at the man once more. “How long have you been here?” She asked, remembering that most humans enjoyed small talk and liked to talk about themselves. Normally she wouldn’t have asked, she preferred to keep to herself, but there was something especially intriguing about this man and his lizard.

She spoke with indifference, or rather, like she was completely apathetic towards everything. She did seem to be curious about Kaida, but when she asked her question it sounded like she was doing it more because she felt like that was what she had to do rather than having any desire to know. Still, Genji figured he might as well keep the conversation going and see where it went.

"I have been here since… I believe September. It has been quite a while, now that I think about it." He had never really thought much about how much time had passed since his arrival in Pandora, it didn’t really feel like it was that long ago. "How about you?"

Genji couldn’t quite tell if this girl was just shy and had trouble talking with others, or if she just didn’t care much to interact with other people. She didn’t seem to be hostile or even grumpy, but she gave him this odd feeling, as if something about her wasn’t quite right.

  6. “Hmm.” She hummed when he told her how long he’d been there. She’d only just arrived in the scheme of things, others had been here years. She’d heard rumours that people could be plucked away from Pandora as quickly as they’d arrived – no trace left behind. She wondered if that meant it was possible 2B and 9S would one day join her. “A few weeks.” She admitted, blinking slowly, her stark white eyelashes shimmering in the sun.

A2 looked at Genji then and cocked her head to the side inquisitively as she walked toward him. “That short sword you were using before, can I see it?” She asked, remembering that she was quite fascinated by it and had something of an affinity for weaponry – though A2 was working on discovering more hobbies. The lighthouse was one, but combat was all she knew. She’d been made for it. What else was there?

It hadn’t yet occurred to her that she could defy her fate, even more so than she’d already done, evolve much further past the boundaries YoRHa had made for her. If she couldn’t physically stick a blade into them, she’d do it in spirit – with raging wires and scalding hot coolant.
