The Royal Burden

Discussion in 'Pandora, Year 1 - 7' started by Princess Peach, Oct 2, 2017.

1. Oh, the nerve!

Peach found herself on the business end of a knife. And what a disreputable business it was! This wasn't a doctor's office, and this rather slimy-looking man before her was certainly no surgeon. Rather, his business was robbery. But what sort of foolish robber chose a princess as his target?? ...Likely one who was drunk--or stupid. She had no pockets or purse with which to store her money. In fact, she had no money on her person at all! It was practically an ancient proverb! Princesses don't carry money on their person, specifically because of creeps like this! ...She didn't have much money anywhere really. It was all tied up in a mushroom bank somewhere she couldn't return to. Yet, here she found herself having to explain that to some deranged or desperate man who wasn't having it. Was this an improvement over being kidnapped? She wasn't so sure. What did he want--her pendant? Her dress? They were both somewhat valuable, but that was taking things a bit too far. Her dress was her dignity manifest--and her jewelry? Those were family gifts! Who would be so cruel as to take them from her? Now Peach wasn't having it, and she was quickly beginning to consider her options for dealing with this would-be robber. She wondered how well it would go over for her if she just ... gave him a good whack! Maybe not so well? That knife certainly did escalate things...

Where was a hero when she needed one?

All of sudden a small throwing star suddenly came towards the princess and her would-be robber. The star hit the very blade of the knife of the robber and even assuming the surprise wouldn't make him drop it, the star came at it at such strenght that it would have broken it off completely from the handle, leaving him weaponless.

Upon looking at the direction the star came from, the princess and the robber would see Genji approaching with one hand on the handle of the sheathed sword on his hip, with a second, bigger sword visible on his back.

"I would recommend you leave the lady alone unless you want to find yourself at the wrong end of a real blade." Genji told the robber, his tone sounding very cold, but also very calm. He looked ready to draw his sword and if the robber still insisted on attacking, he was ready to move and intercept him.

3. Peach flinched as something flew past her. Someone was throwing things! She'd heard a crack and--! ...Oh. The man's knife was missing. Not only that, but she evidently wasn't alone! There was a lot of flustered looking about from both parties, but the disgruntled man apparently thought a lot more of the armored warrior than the effeminate lady in pink and promptly turned tail to flee. The only thing he'd be stealing today was his life, back from the jaws of fate.

Peach turned to Genji and offered him a bright smile, folding her hands before her. "That was a close call. Thank you for saving me, sir." she greeted, allowing herself a moment of relief. She nearly moved to reward Genji with a little smooch upon his cheek, only to freeze up as she realized it probably wouldn't do much for him. She wasn't certain, but his cheek kinda looked like armor and not a part of his body with feeling. ...Or he could be a robot! That 'armor' looked a little skintight in places, actually! Peach was no expert on armor, but she knew none of the knights in her kingdom wore it all that tightly. It was probably either a comfort or functionality thing. "Are you... a robot?" Peach hesitantly went on to ask in a rather curious tone. Such things were very rare, but not unheard of in her world.

The robber was wise enough to run away, leaving Genji alone with the... princess? Now that he took a better look at her she certainly dressed royalty and, considering last time he questioned someone's royal status led to a crater in the middle of the woods and he barely escaping with his life, he wasn't about to really ask about it.

"You're welcome, miss."
He gave her a little nod and just watched as she seemed to want to move towards him, but then didn't; his hand moving away from the handle of his sword and instead he just stood in a more relaxed posture, letting out a chuckle when she asked whether he was a robot. "Not quite, I am part man, part machine, but for all intents and purposes, this is my body."

If it wasn't for the fact his face was so messed up, Genji would have taken out his mask and shown his face to her. Instead, it was better to just act like the armor was his body, it wasn't like that was completely incorrect anyway.

5. --Well, that was good enough for the princess. Shifting her hands behind her for a moment, she leaned in and placed a sweet little kiss upon Genji's--well, the cheek of his faceplate anyway. A little pink mark would be left by her lipstick. "It is also the body of a hero~" Peach softly remarked, making a point to reassure the other. She then pulled back and offered the other a bright smile. "My name is Princess Peach Toadstool of the Mushroom Kingdom, and may if it would not inconvenience you--may I know the name of my newest hero?" Peach went on to introduce and request. She wasn't entirely sure whether this was sort of a superhero deal where there was a secret identity at play, but she supposed it didn't hurt to ask. Maybe the 'mask' was just how his face looked, after all!

When the lady walked up to him and then kissed him, even though it didn’t really make contact with his skin, he couldn't help but get a little flustered, especially with the words that followed the action.

"It was nothing." He wasn't able to completely hide some bashfulness, even slightly rubbing the back of his head as he spoke.

She introduced herself and, as expected, was a princess... From the Mushroom Kingdom? That was odd for sure, but he had already come to terms with the fact he would be meeting people from all kinds of strange places.

"My name is Genji Shimada. It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty." He then bowed to her in traditional Japanese fashion.

7. Peach beamed. Normally she would've corrected someone by informing them there was no need to bow to her; she was not genji's ruler, and to do such a thing was perhaps disrespectful to whomever he called his leader. Yet, she'd come to accept, very reluctantly, that her status meant little to many people here on Pandora. She frankly doubted the notion that whoever Genji looked up to would really mind anymore than if she were some commoner. More importantly, though, she was homesick and the respect Genji was showing her made her feel a bit better about her circumstances, even if it weren't 'proper'. Needless to say, she decided to accept the gesture without complaint.

"The pleasure is mine, Mr. Shimada. I do not believe I would have been able to avoid a fight with that ruffian if you had not shown up~!" she went on to remark, once again lamenting how poorly her appearance lent itself to being threatening. She had her height going for her, but... that was about it. Intimidating beauty really didn't apply to thieves very well. "I dread to think that Perry or I may have gotten hurt..." the princess went on to state, pulling her parasol down and giving its canopy an affectionate and protective little hug.

...Hold on--that parasol had a face. "Yeah! You were awesome out there!" the parasol chimed in. ...Huh. One could reasonably assume that the talking, sentient parasol must be this perry fellow.

Well, this princess certainly sounded like she was ready to fight the robber herself if she had to, she didn't really look like a very strong woman but Genji knew well that looks could be deceiving. Still, she didn't seem to be too confident about her own fighting ability given how she was scared of her or her friend getting hurt.

Speaking of, said friend was a talking parasol. That... was probably at the top of weird things Genji had seen so far. He couldn't help but just stare in silence at what he was seeing for a little while, too bewildered to say anything. Luckily his helmet was hiding his baffled expression or this whole conversation would get much more awkward.

"I... Thank you, I... I am glad I could get here before anybody was hurt." He finally managed to say, trying to ignore the fact one of the people he was talking to was a talking parasol. "Uh... would you like me to escort you home? Just in case any more of these criminals come after you."

9. Perry's big goofy smile certainly did little to explain his existence. But then, there was only so much you could explain about being turned into a parasol by an evil magician. You could state your circumstances, but really there just wasn't all that much to understand. Slipping Perry back over her shoulder, Peach held out a silken gloved hand to Genji. "That would be most appreciated, Mr. Shimada~! ...Though, I am afraid that I have found myself unable to settle down since my arrival." Peach replied, at first quite eager but then rather abruptly pensive. Adjusting from the comforts of her castle had been ... trying, to say the least. Her poor heart ached to be pampered, but well--That could wait just a bit longer.

A princess with no home, that was something new. She hadn't managed to find a home for herself? Was she new to Pandora, or did she just have a hard time settling down in a land that wasn't her kingdom? One way or another, a young lady such as her shouldn't be wandering with no place to go.

"I see..." Genji grabbed the hand that was held out to him. "Well, is there anywhere safe you would want to go to? You won't be such a target if I'm escorting you." He kept his offer up, just making sure if there wasn't anything he could do to help
