    General Secretary of the Alliance

Today where the now-deposed Inilossum originally declared he'd take control of the Alliance now stands Hal Jordan. The man who alongside the people of Elysium and the Alliance fought throughout the summer to secure his position as the first-ever, Elected General Secretary of the Alliance. In what is now his first official statement as General Secretary, the Lantern spoke on how he'd dedicate all his time to ensure the Alliance recovers from the short but bloody war, though unlike leaders of past, he claims to hold the interest of all citizens and planets of the Alliance at heart.

It truly is the start of a new dawn. Hal, once a Lieutenant and poster boy of Starfleet, turned leader of a militia, now sits at the head of Pandora's most technologically advanced nation. Though many of his critics have dubbed the man a 'Green Menace' who claims to be the Lantern who lit the Alliances way but will only ensure its downfall. It seems those sentiments have grown after Hal began to purge those who aligned with Inilossum from their jobs within the government. As well as any other people whom he deemed 'too akin to a fascist' for his liking.

That small comment he made to the press hours ago has led to backlash. And while he has seemed to be rather dismissive of it all, few seem to be willing to act against the man who brought down a Tyrant. Though it might seem that many are speaking out against the man, he does still have massive support. With many calling for a statue of their 'Liberator' to be put up in the middle of Alliance Square, where both General Inilossum's reign was put to an end.

Once asked about a statue of himself, the General Secretary simply replied to press that he'd love nothing more than to leave a Lantern in the Square for all of the Alliance to recall well past his reign, that someone will always light the way to greatness.
