It had been five days since he'd arrived in this strange new world and Wally was exploring it with interest though deep within he was concerned about what was going on back home, was Artemis concerned about his disappearance? Had she contacted his friends at Mount Justice? Were they all looking for him? The thoughts made his heart start racing whenever they managed to drift there so he avoided that at all costs, trying to fix on the now, like right now he needed to find some food and the Shelter that Menolly had told him about upon his arrival on her boat. So the young red head pushed his red hoodie's hood back, his pale green eyes scanning for road signs as he tried to recall the directions he'd been given even as his stomach gurgled hungrily. He felt so tired and all he'd had to boost his energy had been some oat bar the dark haired Menolly had given him before he'd set off for Pandora Town.

He'd already opened that, upon reaching Pandora Town and scoffed it down but the little energy it had given him was fading fast. He needed to find the shelter and food soon else he might pass out in the street, which wasn't something he was particularly keen to do. He pressed on down the street, passing several alleyways and noting the slowly setting sun turning the sky pretty colours. He would blame it on his exhaustion and the fact his mind was elsewhere, the fact he missed the sound of someone moving out of the alleyway behind him, the first thing he knew about having been targeted was something striking him hard round the back of his head, giving him no time to react, sending his sprawling onto the pavement into a dark world of unconsciousness.

Next thing Wally knew was that his head really hurt, he shifted, trying to reach a hand to the back of his head only to find for some reason his arm was unable to move. Blearily he opened his pale, green eyes, the world blurred before his eyes and the pounding in his head only grew worse. He blinked hard, trying to focus, as he did he noticed his arms were thoroughly tied to the arms of a chair and quite suddenly he was able to bring the world into focus. Wally noted as it did that he was tied quite thoroughly to a metal chair, there was something over his mouth preventing him from talking too and shifting his gaze away from himself he noted he was in a dark, musty room which looked like a storage room of some warehouse.

With all this taken in he started fidgeting in the chair he was tied to, testing his bonds to see if he could break free, quiet grunts escaping past his gag at his efforts but the rope was well tied, not shifting an inch. Distantly he heard approaching footsteps then the door swung open and he was blinded as bright light flooded the dingy storage room, but then the door closed. Blinking away the pain to his eyes he counted the newcomers, noting there were four of them, two of whom were obviously guards and the other two looked like high ranked gang members. It was one of these two men who spoke"He's a good catch isn't he?"

To which the other was moving forwards seizing his chin and forcefully turning Wally's head despite his grunt of protest before saying"He is a decent specimen I grant you Wyatt, though just cos he looks good doesn't mean he'll make a good test subject for the doc... Which is why I made you bring the case.." Wally heard the man who'd spoken first shifting, moving behind him and putting what he guessed was the case onto some kind of surface behind him even as the man forcing his head to the other side now said"We're going to test him on a dosage of an early version of the drug, make sure he's worth it."

Wally let out a snarl of protest through his gag, forcing his head out of the older man's grip to which he received a savage slap before his face was seized and the guy was making him look at him while saying"It's good you have spirit young man, I'd hold onto that if you want to get past this dosage because I promise you won't like what we'll do to you if you can't pass the first phase.." Wally glared back at the man, but now the man was releasing his grip before moving off behind him, where Wally couldn't see and he could hear objects moving even as the guy who had spoken first upon entering the room spoke up"The syringe is nearly ready Doug..." At those words Wally could help the fear erupting from his now fast beating heart as he started to shift in his chair again, desperately trying to get free.

Artemis was restless, enough to drive her out of patrol around the town. Guess being asked to come out of retirement had refueled her inner hero a little - enough for her to focus on small-scale stuff like patrolling the streets for any signs of trouble. Thanks to that, she had heard rumors of this place as she had kind of spooked the information out of a small nervous-looking gang-member, the type most likely to crack under pressure.

So here she was, lurking on the warehouse's roof and watching through the tiny skylight. The gang in question had captured someone, it seemed and she took a minute or two more to take in the scene unfolding below her. That is light flooded the back-room enough to reveal the person held prisoner and her eyes narrowed, she'd know that mop of red hair anywhere.

Swinging her bow up and around, she pried the window with one end of the weapon, there was no time to waste. She leapt then twisted in mid-drop, one hand grabbing the edge of the skylight and swung, aiming for one of the guards so her fall was broken by the man. Not stopping, she turned the bow into a melee weapon as the other guard came straight at her and smashed one end against the side of his face.

He struggled against his binds, not caring if they noticed now because there was no way in hell he was going to let them stick him with the needle if he could help it. One of the men found this amusing, he could hear him laughing, then the one who'd been manhandling his face was back and Wally's pale, green gaze settled on the syringe in his hand, a muffled noise of protest escaped past his gag as he took it in. The man's eyes shimmered with a cold amusement, but then there was a crashing sound above them all and the thug straightened, no longer bent over Wally as he twisted to face the new threat. Someone had dropped upon one of the guards, someone very familiar and Wally's pale, green gaze widened, his struggling stopped as he could only stare at the blonde who'd come to his aid.

He almost didn't believe it was her, Artemis, the woman whom he'd seen a future with, his girlfriend whom he'd left behind the day Pandora had snatched him and yet watching her take down the second guard he knew it was her, saving his butt yet again. In that moment he wanted nothing more than to take her in his arms, to hold her close, to never let her go again. Then his joy at seeing Artemis was snatched away as the man with the syringe moved to stand behind him, Wally felt his hair get grabbed, a muffled grunt of pain escaped him as it was wrenched back and forced to one side, exposing the right hand side of his neck. There was a scratching feeling in the side of his neck as the needle was inserted, Wally wriggled in response a muffled protest coming from his gagged mouth.

Even as the guy was doing this he saw the final guy in the room levelling his gun on Artemis as the man holding the syringe called to his girlfriend"Make one more move archer and I inject this toxin into this young man here, its double strength compared to what I was going to give him..." Wally's green gaze, went from the man holding the syringe to Artemis even as the guy was continuing"Drop your weapons and kick them towards Wyatt and I won't need to use this.." Wally made a muffled noise in response to that, the man tugged on his hair in response causing him to wince.

He went silent, his pale green gaze fixed on Artemis, trying to silently tell her to not give in, to take out the gunman and then deal with the mad man holding the syringe, he could take it, he could take the drug. He longed for her to deal with the gunman first, he wanted to protect her, to prevent her from getting hurt, if that meant taking some form of potent, pain inducing drug then so be it, he could do it, he would do it.

She had leapt back from the second guard, both of the men out cold by now and had also grabbed the arrow she knew held the smokescreen arrow. She had spun around in Wally's direction and her eyes narrowed. While part of her screamed for her to drop both of the weapons, she had caught her boyfriend's look and tensed at the pleading tone in them.

Maybe it was all the time they had spent together but she could read what he was silently saying like a book. However lowering their guard was first and she made like she was about to drop to her knees and surrender then grabbed a regular arrow - moving fast, she let it fly to target the syringe.

She was quick to move in another direction, doing an one-handed handstand across the floor with one foot aimed at the gun-wielding man's face, hopefully the motion meant she could dodge her way out of the path of any bullets. If not, a moving target was still a little harder to hit.

His green gaze was fixed on Artemis, he no longer noticed anyone else in the room all Wally's attention was on the blonde as she took in the scene, as she tried to come to a decision and still he silently pleaded with her to get his message. He wanted her to take out the gunman first, if she did that she would limit her chances of being shot but then her movements suggested she was dropping to her knees giving in, but the needle in his neck remained firmly planted within his flesh and he could almost feel the man's excitement at Artemis' actions. Except Wally them for what they were, a trick to lure his captors into a false sense of security and sure enough even as she was seemingly about to drop an arrow was on her bow string but instead of flying towards the gunman it was flying towards him. Even as the arrow flew she was moving, Wally's heart was in his mouth as she moved towards the gunman, wishing she had not wasted time shooting an arrow towards him and yet he did not get to follow Her progress towards the gunman as the syringe suddenly exploded as the arrow hit its target. The liquid went everywhere and the thug holding him cried out with surprise, jerking Wally's head in a sharp motion that the red head suspect was just a motion of surprise to the arrow.

Wally winced, pain lacing up his neck from the sharp motion and the needle from the shattered syringe came flying out his neck as the motion. At the same time that this was going on the gunfire started and Wally felt a fresh feeling of terror in his gut, not for himself but for the blonde archer. He could not see how the fight was going the man still had a tight grip on his hair and yet he was swearing, suggesting he was running out of ideas. Wally started twisting and writhing against the ropes that had him strapped to the chair, ignoring the pain in his scalp as his motions had him pulling hard against the guy who had a grip on him. Then quite suddenly the gag fell away from Wally's mouth and feeling the freedom e made to call out to Artemis only to feel a sharp pain in his head as once again it was jerked back. Only this time his throat was exposed, something cold and sharp was being held to it. Wally could now see the gunman on the floor where Artemis had kicked him, attempting to crawl towards his dropped weapon even as the man who held Wally hostage was yelling"Stop! another movement and he dies! You superheroes biggest weakness is how much to care for the innocent... But as good stock this kid would have been I have no worries about slitting his throat..."

Something sharp was pressing into his throat just hard enough to leave a scratch which started to well with blood and yet Wally could sense the man's desperation, this was his last play, the guy had no more cards to play. The guy knew that using Wally was the only way he might escape this and yet the red head's gag had gone, fallen to his neck due to his struggles. Wally knew what he needed to do if he was to be of any help at all, he just hoped Artemis was able to use the distraction he was about to provide her with. There was a moment of silence and then the red head was jerking his head to the right and seizing his captors wrist in his mouth, upon grabbing the guy he bit hard. Instantly the guy was yelling, his grip on the knife loosening as he tried to rip his wrist from Wally's teeth. The man's hand in Wally's hair wrenched hard, attempting to pull him off but the young ex-hero ignored the pain and hoped that Artemis would use this opportunity to kick the gun away from the gunman on the floor while perhaps shooting some kind of arrow to take the guy he was forced to bite away from him. He felt a little sick as the iron tang hit his tongue, he was making the knife guy bleed, it was disgusting but it was all he could think of doing in this situation so as to not be a complete burden in this rescue.

Wincing as a bullet grazed her side, she was on the other gun-man fast with her foot meeting his face. Once the guy was down, she moved to kick the gun under some heavy machinery before spinning to face Wally and the man standing behind him. Frowning at the sight before her, the blonde archer felt her lips twitch up into a snarl yet she didn't move - weighing up her options as she knew what Wally would have wanted her to do, losing him scared her more than she would admit.

As the guy resorted to verbal threats, Wally had moved before she could and the next thing she knew, the red-headed young man had sank his teeth into the older guy's wrist. As the man's attention was now on freeing himself, Artemis was quick to dig through her quiver - nearly choosing her smokescreen arrow but her fingers travelled on fast.

Something told her that wasn't the best move and she settled on a stunner arrow and quickly loaded it before moving to target what she could see of the man's stomach. Letting it fly, her eyes narrowed as it shot forward to wham into him - a controlled electric charge surrounding the older man's chest as he relaxed his grip on Wally's hair, and if not for having his wrist in the speedster's mouth, would have dropped to the floor.

Switching to a regular arrow, the young woman moved to cover the guy - making sure that he was down for the count. During their combat training when they had still been on the team, both Batman and Black Canary had drummed that bad guys could play possum into their heads so often that Artemis was taking no chances. After a few moments of getting no movement, she still kept shooting wary glances over her shoulder as she moved to untie Wally.

Distracted as he was by the man yanking on his hair and his head twisted to the side as he determinedly kept his grip on the man's wrist he could not see what Artemis' choice ended up being. No he was too busy wondering if the guy was trying to make him bald in his efforts to free his wrist as he heard the sound of a gun clattering to the ground, a fear for Artemis was pounding his his heart despite the sound meaning there was hope for her. Next thing he knew the man's grip loosened on his hair and he became a dead weight in his mouth. His head was being yanked to the side as the guy fell and quickly he released his grip so as to not end up snapping his neck. His pale green gaze on the fallen man once he'd hit the floor even as he gathered spit in his mouth and then he was turning his head, spitting the man's blood from his mouth muttering more to himself than anyone in the room"Disgusting... I hope I didn't catch anything doing that..." He gathered more spit and spat again wishing he had water or something to rinse the iron taste of blood from his mouth.

Even as he was turning his head to look at Artemis, his pale, green gaze running up and down her as he nervously looked for any injuries as she approached in a wary fashion, but everyone in the room was out for the count but them now. His gaze went to her eyes as he spoke a quip despite the exhaustion in his veins, the ache to his head from his head wound and the feel on drying blood on his neck"I am so glad to see you Artemis... Have I ever told you that you have wonderful timing before? " He fidgeted where he was tied to the fair asking, concern now in his voice"You're not hurt right? They didn't land a blow?" He could feel the ropes loosening as she freed him from his binds and finally he was free from the chair, he made his stiff joints move as he rose quickly from the chair his hands reaching for her concern in her eyes, he was more concerned about her than himself even when it was him who had been clobbered, kidnapped, tied to a chair and threatened.

Glancing up as Wally released his death-grip on the man's wrist and spat a gob of red and white from his mouth, Artemis frowned - wishing she carried a bottle of water on her today of all days. Still maybe once they were out of here, they could find a place for her boyfriend to rinse his mouth out like a tavern or something. Finishing untying him, she let the ropes drop to the floor and eyed the needle still planted in Wally's neck then slender fingers carefully took the end and drew it out before throwing it to one side.

"Glad to see you too and you may have mentioned it once or twice before" the blonde archer replied as her voice shook, eying the gash the bullet from earlier had left in her side. That could wait, her boyfriend had not only the spot where the needle had gone it but a knife-wound and a head injury - she was quick to add "It's nothing that will kill me. But let's both focus on getting to a hospital or healer"

Their last reunion had been so brief, she was taking no chances - one minute, she was watching Wally fight a goose for a sandwich and the next he was gone, she had to pinch herself to check that she hadn't been dreaming. The first thing she wanted to do was get him to a hospital so someone could check him out even more than her wanting to make up for lost time and kissing him like there was no tomorrow. That and also checking that this place wasn't playing some cruel trick on her.

She was worried for him, it was visible in her eyes and even as he fond a grip in one of her hands her other hand was pulling something from his neck, in his concern for her he had not even noticed it was still there. He made himself flash her the tiniest of smirks at her response to his words about being pleased to see her and yet for some reason he couldn't bring himself to say something more. Not with how his concerned pale, green gaze ran from her face to her injury as she briefly turned her attention to it, for a moment his heart felt like it had stopped beating, his grip on her hand tightened. Wally found himself hissing under his breath"They did get you, the bastards!" But then she was speaking and he was forcing his anger aside, shaking his head, concern in his gaze as he responded "We need to put something on your wound, stop the bleeding..." As much as he didn't want to he released his grip on her hand to pull his red hoodie off saying"We can cover the wound with this for now, until we get to someone with the proper tools to help you..."

He met her gaze, trying to get her to see he was serious, gently he pulled the hoodie around her injured side, pushing it against the wound to try and get a decent amount of pressure to it. All the while ignoring that the cut on his neck dribbled a thin trickle of blood in an attempt to match where the needle had come out of on the side of it. Much harder to ignore was his pounding head from where he'd taken the blow that had allowed them to kidnap him, he also found it was hard to stay focused which suggested he had a concussion but he did not say these things, scared of making Artemis focus to much on him when she needed help. He was pulling on the arms of the hoodie now, tying the hoodie to the wound as he asked"How does that feel? It's not to tight or loose?" The final know was tied and he was straightening, his gaze meeting hers again, his fingers tracing over her sides, all he wanted to do in that moment was hold her close and never let go.

Light pressure on her hand pulled Artemis back to the here and now as her eyes met Wally's gaze, an equal amount of concern on her face. She could fill him in later but for now, they had other things to worry about as her boyfriend's brief burst of anger reminded her of the bullet-wound. The next thing she knew was he had let go of her to remove his top - the following comment or two implying his intentions.

"Well, they paid for that and that would help but what about you?" the young woman replied even as she made a mental note to start carrying a first-aid kit when doing this kind of thing.

Watching as he placed his top over the bullet-wound, Artemis almost smiled a little - still the same old Wally or more worried about her even though he was more injured than she was right now. But the serious look in her boyfriend's eyes made her hold it back as he used his hoodie as a makeshift dressing and she looked him over, her attention swinging back to both the trickles of blood on Wally's neck.

"It feels good and no, it's tied correctly but it's your time now, mister. We need to get out of here and get you looked at" the blonde archer threw back at him, her tone growing serious as she collapsed her bow and put it away in her quiver. Once that was done, it was like months of wondering if she would ever see him again had kicked in and the next thing she knew, she had wrapped both arms around his chest, under his arms and buried her face against him like she couldn't quite believe he was here.

Oh, this definitely wasn't a trick and she quickly pulled away with a wince as the sudden movement made the graze in her side ache. Remembering her earlier comment about finding someone to look at both their wounds, she glanced at the main entrance to the warehouse and commented "Let's get out of this place"
