NPC Companions: Denby the mechanical owlbear
    SKILLS & ABILITIES

Amy’s world is tough and unforgiving, so to survive, she’s had to be physically fit. While not amazingly strong or agile, she’s athletic enough to be slightly better at surviving than the average couch potato. She’s also quite accurate with a crossbow, able to hit people in the middle of a fight or a small rope that’s far away.

Mentally, Amy is quick-witted, able to come up with inventive solutions to problems. She also has enough experience as a mechanic to recognize familiar machinery in completely new piece of technology, and fix it.

After being kidnapped and experimented on, Amy had been forced to gain electrokinesis. With these powers, she can manipulate the electricity in technology that runs on it, she can, for instance, use the power to shock whoever is holding it, or cause it to blow. She can also generate electricity and shoot it out as a bolt of lighting from a distance or like a taser at close range. Eventually, at least.

NPC's AbilitiesFor some added protection, Amy has a mechanical owlbear she named Denby. It has the normal abilities of both species. The strength of a bear and the perception of an owl to be exact. While not possessing human intelligence, he is smart enough to notice threats to Amy's person and react accordingly.

As a homunculus, Denby has the ability to grow or shrink in size depending on the situation. He can either be as small as koala or as large as a full-grown bear. He is also able to store items for Amy.

    Equipment
    • Crossbow: A simple crossbow that Amy needs to pull back the string to fire.

    WEAKNESSES

There's only so much Amy can do in a direct fight. Someone particularly strong would be able to overpower her pretty easily. Also, she can't really take a hit all that well. If she's stabbed or shot in any particularly valuable area, she's probably going to need some bed-rest if she's lucky to not die immediately.

Her electrokinesis could be very useful, if she knew how to use it. Without any training or experience, the best Amy can do intentionally is either way more than her body can handle, or so little that it would barely stun a fly. She is also unused to these powers, and the side effects that come with it. Even short-circuiting a flashlight can take a lot out of her at the moment. If she loses her temper and uses too much energy at once, she could end up unconscious for a long time.

While Denby is strong in a fight and always on guard, there's only so much he can do. His method of fighting is to run at it until it breaks while Amy takes pot-shots from the back. Anyone with decent enough tactics would be able to take him down.

    PERSONALITY

When given space to really be herself, Amy is a friendly, affable, and kindhearted girl. At the end of the day, she simply wants to stay alive, along with those she's close to. Anyone she considers a friend can be promised a caring and loyal friend for as long as they can prove they deserve it.

Despite the hellscape she grew up in, there is still a genuine desire to help people in Amy. Also, she has a fun loving side. She's not above taking a break to do some jump-roping with some kids even when working for an underground resistance movement.

Of course, no one can get through a nuclear war without being a little scarred. Any enemies will find that Amy has a desire to survive, willing to crush, shoot, or even stab people in the eye with a syringe if they prove to be a threat. She's also not afraid to lose her temper in dangerous situations, even at friends. Her sharp tongue can also make an appearance, as she's definitely willing to call people out if they endanger her or themselves.

    APPEARANCE

Amy has dirty blonde hair down to her shoulders along with strong cheekbones. She's clearly athletic, though not particularly tall, and her choice of clothing usually falls into the practical category. Denby looks like this.

    BRIEF HISTORY

When Amy was five, World War III caused the end of the world. With nuclear weapons raining down on her home, any sense of normalcy was lost.

In response to the end of the world, a new government was formed, the Aristocracy. It is full of several ministries such as Knowledge, Energy, and Medicine. Due to how corrupt the Aristocracy was, a resistance movement was formed. One valuable member of the resistance was Cooper Wellard, Amy's father.

He never told Amy what he was part of, so he died while she was none the wiser to his secret life. She continued living, making ends meet through her job as a mechanic until she contracted the dangerous disease known as green lung.

Since she was poor, the only way she could get medicine to help fight the green lung was by getting work from one of the Ministries in exchange for a lottery ticket. She was sent to fix a reactor, where she met the man she was replacing.

She found him crushed under a great deal of rubble, and once they started talking, he realized she was the daughter of Cooper. He gave her a letter to deliver to a mysterious 'Danton'. After some snooping around, Amy discovered that Danton was the leader of a second resistance movement. She agreed to help them discover a secret within the Ministry of Medicine, and had managed to break in, discovering that the Ministry had been hoarding the valuable medicine.

Then something else was revealed, she had been bugged the whole time. She was sent to prison and the rebels were slaughtered. Luckily, an unusually intelligent raven managed to help her break out, and she returned to the rebel's HQ in hopes of finding survivors. That was where Pandora grabbed her.

    ROLEPLAY SAMPLE

Amy wasn't sure what was pissing her off the most, all of the dead rebels around her, or the fact that Denby had to hope for his life saving medicine, even though there was more than enough. If the rebels were still alive, maybe Denby would have had a better chance than he did at the moment.

Still, there was a chance. She had to believe that. Gus had to have gotten her the note for a reason. It just... it couldn't just end! Amy wasn't going to just give up when who knows how many people might have been dying when they didn't need to be.

No, she had to look. It was the only way to save her friends, and herself, and to make it up to that old man. It wasn't right to just take his only way of getting medicine, no matter how much she needed it. He didn't have to know it was for him. She did.

She started to examine the room a little, hoping to find something useful, but was quickly stopped by something on her ankle. Looking down, she spotted some sort of vine on her ankle. "What the hell?" she muttered, trying in vain to pull her leg free.

The more she struggled, the more useless it seemed. Before she could even wrap her head around what was happening, she was gone.
