A few weeks had passed since the last time she had the chance to lay eyes upon her husband. In all honesty, living without him by her side was the hardest part of finding herself trapped in a pocket dimension. The constant pain running through her veins would appear as the mere outcome of the absence of a food source. Nevertheless, from Rebekah’s perspective, it was the consequence of her emotional state too.

All the vampire wanted was to hold his hand once more or to wrap her arms around his shoulders. The world became an empty place and a cold feeling slowly poisoned the spirit. The distance between them kept swallowing every ounce of hope she had left to spare. Disappointment feasted upon happiness, creating a whole in her soul. Despair seized her heart, squeezing out every dream that had not died.

The isolation resulted into dark thought which grew steadily until they dominated her mind. What started out as nothing more than a nagging feeling, gradually developed into powerful notions about a miserable future. Eventually, the Original resolved to break the safety of her seclusion from the outside world by forming a new friendship with a peculiar creature who could help her escape from the land of dreams.

Then, in a short distance, she spotted a familiar face. “Light.” The name escaped from her lips. It sounded like a whisper. No hesitation deterred her from using her incredible speed in an endeavor to reach his side within second. Moments later she was standing behind him. “Love?” Her voice remained soft. “How are you here?” However, she realized that the answer rested before her. He was probably dreaming.

Ever since the world changed, Light had been making efforts to locate Rebekah. At first he considered the possibility on being alone in another dimension filled with strangers, but after a meticulous research he discovered that fragments of the old Pandora had been transported to this another one too, even if sometimes they do not appear as he remembered them. So there were possibilities that his wife, like him, had been brought to this place as well and he did what he should have.

But after some time passed without any results, he was beginning to question how easy it would be to find Rebekah in a sea of people. This world was far more dense in population size than the old Pandora and its areas were even further apart. It was extremely difficult to locate one person amidst the millions even in technologically advanced places like Pandopolis or Ark City. This world was still not connected as his home used to be and he soon realised that if Rebekah was in it, she could be in places that could not be reached.

Perhaps she, then, had a better chance of finding him, being the supernaturally gifted of the two, since the notebook had vanished with her. Light had considered making himself more visible, but that translated to different things for one in Centria compared to one living in the Crystal Vales. At any rate, he had not given up his search, though it certainly filled him with overwhelming feelings and doubts that he was not used to experiencing.

Those carried on in his sleep as well, but that dream was different. Light had constructed ideal worlds in his mind, but no imaginary place resembled the one he was at the moment. It was fluid and ever shifting, seemingly with no reason and lacking the sort of order he appreciated. He did not feel comfortable in it and he would feel the need to leave, if not for the vision that appeared in front of him. It was indeed his wife and for a moment he had to consider if he had finally found her, before he shook his head in realization. 'This is a dream. I can't find you in reality, so I am seeing you here.' he reasoned, a hint of disappointment in his voice.

The vampire noticed how the young man shook his head. Maybe he did not believe that the meeting war real. In all honesty, she had her own doubts too. His remark became a knife that pierced her heart. “So, you have been looking for me?!” The comment sounded as a realization and question alike. Suddenly, her hopes turned into reality.

“Even if it is just a dream...” Her words trailed off and slow footsteps carried her closer to her husband. “It is a good dream.” A sad smiled curled the corners of her mouth while she reached up with a hand to caress his cheek. However, the mere thought that her fingertips would not find solid flesh managed to deter her from touching him.

“I have missed you.” Pain echoed in her voice but she kept trying to hold back her tears. Frankly, the Original yearned to wrap her arms around his neck in order to feel the warmth of his body or to have a simple conversation with him like they once did. Nevertheless, she understood that nothing positive could possibly result from such actions.

A while ago she had started to see his figure everywhere. The memories of the things they both loved began to haunt her thoughts. The books, the music, the games which triggered their minds. Although Light remained lost to her, still his aura lingered. Her emotions worsened the pain, yet, she strove to learn how to cope with the situation.

Perhaps the heartache would have dulled with time but she refused to forget and let go. Despite her ability to adjust, the desperate desire to go home endured. She wanted to walk down the streets, to see the golden rays of the sun upon the rooftops of the buildings at her neighborhood, to watch the first light of day from the window of their apartment.

'Of course I have.' he answered. His tone was natural, which attested to the fact that their marriage was important to him and as long as he wore their wedding ring, he would not forget or abandon his wife. Frustratingly, his searches so far had produced no results, but he was not ready to give up yet.

He offered her a small smile as she spoke, agreeing with her words and sentiments. 'I missed you too.' he said. Rebekah had been his supporter, his confidant and they had come through so much together that it was difficult to get used to life before her. Light was a capable individual, self sufficient and very independent, but he had come to appreciate the benefits of sharing his aspirations and life with another.

'Where are you, Rebekah?' he then asked. In a place that defied natural laws every day in the most fantastical ways, it had crossed his mind that maybe Rebekah's presence could be more than a figment of his imagination. If there was one chance that he could communicate with her through dreams, he had to take it, so that he did.

The couple had proved loyal to each other under the worst possible circumstances, which only made the whole situation more complicated. Rebekah held no doubts about their bond, but relief washed over her upon learning about Light’s endeavors to reach her. Moreover, when he smiled and shared his feelings, she nearly broke down.

The Original rejected the idea of ceasing the effort to reunite with her husband. As a result of the limited knowledge regarding her current whereabouts, she was convinced concerning the fat that she resided in world far from her own. “I don’t know. It looks like Pandora in many aspects, but certain areas are entirely different.”

“Light I...” Her voice broke as she spoke his name. A single tear rolled down her cheek. Although the rest of the world had not seen her weaknesses, still Rebekah had bravely showed her vulnerable side to the young man who had earned her heart. Thus, she decided to share the truth. “I have been trying in vain to find a way back.”

Due to her speed she had visited every corner in a desperate pursuit of an exit. Frankly, the blond had expected the appearance of a supernatural creature that could travel through the realms or some short of a magical portal to open. A simple sound would have alerted her acute senses. However, nothing had happened until this moment.

Suddenly, a massive wave of helplessness hit her and she finally surrendered to the anxiety which had been silently building up for several weeks. The vampire lowered her head and wrapped her arms around her torso with her fingers clutching the soft fabric of her blouse. Despite the deep wish to admit her fear, she fell into silence.

Light nodded his head as Rebekah spoke. It was possible that she was trapped in one of those small worlds that existed within Pandora, but were invisible to many. 'It sounds like you are in one of those pocket dimensions. But if it looks like Pandora, that is a good thing. It means you are still inside this world.' he said. She seemed disheartened, but he was not. There were certainly ways to travel between dimensions and people who had that knowledge and power. Pandora had changed dramatically, but some aspects of it remained.

'You have managed to find me. That might prove enough.' he spoke, hints of an encouraging tone in his voice. At least know he could narrow down the places she could be instead of searching for a needle in a haystack. That made him confident that he could rescue Rebekah from the dimension that had trapped her.

'Rebekah, tell me more. How did you ended up where you are? Anything you remember can prove useful.' he continued, seeing how miserable she looked, while his own hopes had been reignited. He had considered that Rebekah had simply vanished from Pandora, as it happened with many that were brought in it. Along with his notebook as well, depriving him of two of the things he longed for. He could not be more content to discover that

was not the case.

Instead of staying together when life was fun, her husband had stood by her side during the messy situations and the hardships. Thankfully, their bond was not based on mere convenience. They had decided to overcome all obstacles, no matter how difficult such a path might have seemed at the time. Their relationship had become a conscious choice.

The Original had been holding on from a fragile thread in an endeavor to stay strong and positive. However, reuniting with the person she loved had managed to break her facade. Unlike the sudden desperation that overwhelmed her, the young man refused to abandon hope. Despite feeling a little surprised from his reaction, she had expected nothing less.

The way her husband preferred to use logic and not emotion, gave the impression of bringing the perfect balance to her impulsive nature. His encouraging words affected her and for a brief moment she just stared at him. Indeed, Rebekah was still in Pandora. So, they would meet again. “You’re right.” Her soft voice sounded a bit more firm than before.

Over the past few weeks, the blond had deliberately avoided to recall the last minutes in the actual town. Instead, she kept lingering on the moment she woke up away from the real world. Perhaps because she could easily guess the immense amount of emotional pain behind such an effort. “I...” The struggle to organize her thoughts was quite obvious.

“After ensuring the shelter would not collapse and the newcomers were safe, I decided to walk back home.” Of course during the calamity, the district had suffered from the cataclysmic phenomenons. Thus, streets and buildings had fallen to ruin. “The river had gone completely dry and there was a spot where the ground had split right down the riverbed.”

An encouraging smile appeared on his face, in order to alleviate Rebekah's troubled emotions. He could imagine that she being trapped away from him was difficult for her and he shared her feelings, but he had the privilege of re inhabiting a new Pandora. Rebekah seemed lost, but he was optimistic enough to believe that this situation would not last long.

He let her speak, trying to evaluate the situation based on her words. When she finished, Light had a thoughtful expression on his face as he contemplated. 'According to reports, Pandora Town was entirely destroyed. It is possible that you were... killed. Do you remember facing danger?' he asked her, frowning at the thought. It was the last thing he would ever wish for his sweet loved one, so it naturally made him anger. 'What is the last place you remember?' he added, focusing on figuring a fixed point that he could use to understand what exactly happened to her.

Frankly, Rebekah had absolutely no doubt that her husband would encourage her to remember her last moments before the calamity. Therefore, his familiar smile did not surprise her. On the other hand, recalling those minutes seemed a little hard.

Perhaps her mind had decided to shut off the traumatic events. However, Light’s expression and the speculations he shared concerning her possible death triggered her own ideas. “I am supernatural. Which means that if I died, this is the Other Side.”

Nevertheless, the aforementioned raised certain questions regarding the young man’s current visit because he had obviously not met his demise. Maybe their profound bond had formed some kind of a link between them, allowing the communication.

Of course, she realized how her existence on such a plane implied the finality of her situation. But the Original was not ready to give up and accept her fate. “The riverbed. I was near a bridge. Then, an earthquake struck. Everything started to collapse.”
