March 1st, Year 109
@Lan Wangji

Wuxian sighed as he nuzzled into the soft covers of the bed, his eyes fluttering as the rays of the sun were drifting through the window. The young man had found a nice bottle of wine and had drunk by the side of the balcony until Wangji went to bed and he joined him.

It had taken several days and nights to renovate this place and cleanse the settlement, but they managed to fix it up quite well. It was calm, soothing. It was like Cloud Recesses met with Lotus Pier and the Burial Mounds. It was more like the former, but the lotuses and growing their own place...reminded him of home. He wondered sometimes if Wangji did as well.

But he looked happy—happier than he’s ever seen him if Wuxian had to be honest. He was glad that he was fine with them sharing this small house together. It made him feel welcome.

However, he’s had a memory, come and go for two weeks now. It wasn’t often, but he’d remember it before he went to bed and was alone on the balcony, just with his thoughts. When he found Chenqing, Wuxian made a bet with the judge that if he lasted for fifty minutes and kept the ribbon he had, while blindfolded and found another ribbon, he would take the flute as his prize. Feeling cocky, they agreed and Wuxian did just: took off his mask and blindfolded himself with the ribbon he had.

They never found him...except for one. This person never talked, but they managed to climb a tree quite easily since he’d been hiding in one. He talked and said why he wanted the flute and he’d fight for it, but then something unexpected happened.

He was kissed. His first actual kiss. Wuxian had been shocked since the kiss had been quite firm. His arms had been pinned and yet, even though they could have taken the ribbon, they never did. Instead, he found a ribbon nearby that he was positive was from whoever kissed him.

He never managed to see who his mysterious kisser had been, even after the task had ended. He was suspecting it was a strong lady that had taken a fancy to him, and yet...with Pandora and how the people are, he couldn’t really say if it was a woman that kissed him. It also didn’t explain why he’d remain blindfolded when they all wore masks that night—unless it was more for the element of mystery or surprise. For some, having their first kiss taken without knowing or seeing the other person would be less flattering and more...worrying. But for Wuxian?

Well, he definitely enjoyed it. Sometimes, when he closed his eyes and drank wine, Wuxian could imagine it; if he bit his lower lip just so, it’d be like that night.

He noticed Wangji shifting on the bed, and he was about to say good morning when he felt...fur on his leg. His eyes darted to the location and eyes wide with shock, he jumped from the bed. “Ah! Lan Zhan! There's something on the bed!”

It wasn't often Wuxian came to bed with Wangji at the same time. Usually the younger man was up into the silly hours of the night and waking near midday. But Wangji liked this very much. Wuxian had smelled faintly like the wine he had been drinking, nothing unpleasant, in fact it was rather comforting for Wangji. He smelled familiar, and the wine had been fruity enough that it left a distinct smell lingering in the air. He doubted Wuxian noticed it, but then, Wangji was so hyper keen to notice every little detail about his partner that it wasn't so surprising.

Like Wuxian, if he closed his eyes, Wangji could even remember how such a scent tasted on his own tongue. Not from a bottle, not from a glass, but from when he had kissed Wuxian at the Valentines festival. Part of him wanted to regret it, for losing control and giving in on a rare occurrence, especially when he was the only one between the two who knew they had even shared a kiss. But... if he stopped thinking for just a moment, then he could still feel the way Wuxian's lips had trembled in surprise against his own, before having melted into the embrace and returned the kiss.

At least before it had ended all too soon.

Just like how he was dreaming of that kiss now, the man's internal alarm clock woke him up as it did every morning, five in the morning. He'd sighed when he realised it was just a dream again, his head turning to the side before he was greeted with the sight of Wei Ying still fast asleep beside him. Hmm. Wangji would get out of bed in a bit, there was no rush, and they'd worked hard without much stopping lately anyway. Besides, Wei Ying was pretty in particular when he looked restful sleeping

So he listened to the sound of Wuxian breathing, having had to turn his back on the man at some point since the sight of him sleeping there, well within reach, was almost too much for the cultivator to handle. An hour, perhaps two had passed as Wangji lay there, reading a book on his side before he pushed it aside, figuring now was a good time to rise before he got too comfortable. He could hear uncle Qiren's voice echoing in the back of his mind already, chiding him for staying in bed so long.

It was as he was sitting up that he heard his partner's cry and claim of something being in the bed. Immediately on alert, Wangji sat upright and pulled back the pullover from the bed, his eyes narrowing on the ball of dark fur curled up near the bottom of the bed. It seemed to be an animal of some sort, but it didn't look dangerous, though if one had come in from the wild and managed to get into their bed, so it posed a whole new set of problems. How had it even gotten in here? Wangji certainly didn't hear it.

The man summoned Bichen just in case, the sword unsheathing itself and handle slipping comfortably into his palm as he stood back. For some odd reason, he didn't want to harm the creature despite its alarming appearance, something in his gut telling him he should just watch and not act.
"Wei Ying-" He began, looking over to his partner before he noticed movement behind the man. Narrowing his eyes once more, he followed the movement before he motioned his head in its direction to Wuxian, trying to make him look too.

It had looked like a rabbit, no, bigger. If it was their rabbits then that was fine but if this was a new one- Wait, that thing on the bed, did it eat rabbits? Wangji shot it a cursory glance before he began moving in the direction he had seen the other creature going in. If Wuxian wanted to capture it he could, it wasn't like it was a dog anyway. Moreover, releasing it further away from their settlement would probably be a good idea too, so it didn't come wandering back anytime soon.

But it was as he was leaving to capture the other animal when he thought he heard a voice, one making a comment about himself and his looks. Glancing around he looked at the animal to Wuxian, confusion written over his features. There was no way he was sleepy anymore considering how long he'd been awake, so where had the voice come from? It definitely wasn't Wei Ying's familiar voice, so...

Wuxian stumbled by the side of the bed, head knocking on the wooden floor. He groaned at the sensation, hand already rubbing the spot that would no doubt have a bruise. The man was about to complain when he noticed Wangji giving him a look—to which he followed his direction and froze.

It looked like a rabbit—but no, that was a hare. How did a hare get here? He glanced back at the other animal; it looked somewhat like a sable but somewhat bigger? Or smaller? He remembers reading a book on animals—he thinks this was a ferret and that they were more common in other countries. But didn’t ferrets eat rabbits? What if it came to eat them.

He was about to open his mouth when he heard a voice. It definitely didn’t sound like Wangji’s—it was too light, almost feminine? Blinking in confusion, he heard it again. Loud and clear.

“If you hit me with that pillow, Wei Wuxian, I will bite you.” And it was coming from the ferret. He dropped the pillow he had grabbed absent-mindedly, and while keeping his gaze to the animal, he gently asked Wangji. “Lan Zhan, it’s talking. Do you hear that?”

The ferret jumped up and landed on his leg, making him jump in surprise. “We have names. And yes, he heard me. Just like you can hear her.” The animal said, gesturing to the hare before a paw moved swiftly, as it—she?—smacked Wuxian’s knee. Again, he jumped in surprise and annoyance.

“Hey! What was that for? Just who are you?”

The ferret rolled her eyes and sighed. “You’re an imbecile. At least now, I have physical form to smack some sense into you.” She jumped up on the bed, before moving close to the hare and looked at both of them. “My name is Xiao, and she’s Yun. We’re your daemons—your souls.”

Wangji did take a step toward Wei Ying when the animal suddenly jumped at him, swatting at his knee with a paw and acting rather... humanoid for an animal. Odd. But the elder was taken aback at the news that these two creatures were in fact the embodiment of their souls. Did Xiao mean the hare he had seen scampering around? Upon further inspection, Wangji managed to find the animal, Yun, that of which looked up at him and greeted him with a polite and simple Hello.

The man swept down and picked up the hare carefully, the animal seemingly rather happy in his arms as he walked back over to Xiao and Wei Ying.
"Why have you suddenly appeared to us now? Is something wrong?" Wangji asked, completely on board with the idea. He'd seen weirder things, for example - his soulmate coming back in the body of someone else. Who was he to question this?

"Not quite. We've just come to keep you company for a time. Think of us as guides." Wangji nodded as Yun spoke, his hand naturally gliding over her soft fur and smiling a little when she nuzzled against his chest, sniffling and searching for carrots. He must have smelled of them considering how often he treated his rabbits to them.
"It is a pleasure to meet you both then. I hope you can guide us well and show us patience." Polite as ever, the elder bowed his head toward Xiao and Yun in his arms.

The whole thing had reminded Wangji of how he needed to get a move on and feed the rabbits waiting for him, leaving him to set Yun down who followed him happily, getting a nice bunch of carrots to snack on before he set off about his normal duties. He didn't think that Wei Ying would have to worry much either, it wasn't the strangest thing for him either, was it? Besides, having more people to talk to would be nice.

Not to mention... Wangji could speak directly to his soulmate's, well, soul now.

Wangji, ever the serious man that he was, just picked up the hare and moved towards them, as Xiao came over to Wuxian, curling around his hand. Wuxian’s jaw though literally dropped when Wangji asked his question—is he, serious? Did he actually believe these animals were their souls?

Yun’s voice was just like Wangji’s—the speech patterns and the way he talked. It was almost funny to hear it in a feminine tone, but if this was going to be a thing for a while, well, he better get used to it. He chuckled at Wangji’s second comment, just as Xiao snorted at that. “Patience is definitely necessary when dealing with this guy.”

“Hey! I’m great, thank you very much.” It was funny how his soul wanted to keep him in line. He stood up and followed Wangji, though he could see Xiao and Yun were nearby, though Xiao was jumping around as if she wanted to play with Yun.

Moving nearby Wangji as he reached the rabbits, he asked. “I’m surprised that you’re so calm with this, Lan Zhan. Like, we’ve seen strange things but this...” Well, it was weird. It’d be interesting though...maybe he could figure out what Wangji really though, now his soul had a form? Or how...he got those scars.

Wangji carried the basket of carrots and apples over to the rabbits, all of them so used to the man they gathered around without much coaxing needed. He crouched down as he began to hand out the fruit and vegetables, making sure each rabbit had a fair amount while Wei Ying had followed, asking him if he was really sure about this whole thing. Glancing over to their daemons, Wangji couldn't help but smile a bit as he saw how much Xiao was like her counterpart, the both of them so similar that it brought a glowing warmth to his chest. It made him wonder if he and Yun were also similar. Seeing how he saw her simply remain calm around Xiao, with an odd twitch of her nose here and there, he decided that yes - they probably were rather similar.

Pushing himself up to his full height, Wangji turned his attention to the man beside him, tilting his head a little as he smiled.
"Wei Ying. We've fought demons from myths side by side, experienced echoes through time and had you come back to live another life with me." Wangji pointed out, reaching his hand out to lightly glide his fingers through the other man's hair, smiling as the shorter bangs at the front had become a little messy thanks to how he slept. He wanted to hold Wei Ying, to reassure him nothing was out of place, that his own heart felt right at home.

Couldn't Wei Ying feel it too?

"Of all the things to doubt and worry, this is what you pick?" It was laughable, and it did have the cultivator letting out a rare chuckle of sorts. He left the rabbits to eat, giving Wei Ying's hand a soft tug as he walked them back inside so they could get properly dressed and ready for the day.
"Come. We have much to do." Little did he know, the pair were being watched by the two daemons still. His own, Yun, sighing before she mumbled to Xiao.

"Clueless, but adorable."

Wangji fed the rabbits before he addressed Wuxian’s words, smiling at him. Wuxian found that he liked Wangji’s smile; it suited him a lot. Even though it sounded right now like he was trying to explain something completely normal to a child.

Fingers brushed against his bangs—Wuxian forgot to comb it, with what waking up with daemons this morning. But he didn’t feel...like it was too strange. It did felt right—it was just the concept that made it bizarre. Wuxian chuckled, feeling his cheeks heat up when Wangji chuckled. “Good point. There are more things to worry about than our souls taking a physical form.”

He followed Wangji, as Xiao rolled her eyes before she silently spoke to Yun. “Yup. It will take them forever before they realize...but then again, we’re here now, Yun. A little help wouldn’t be so bad.”

As they began their chores for their home, Wuxian turned to the daemons at some point. “So, is there anything else we need to know about daemons? Like can you eat? Do you need to sleep? Can you...get hurt?”

Xiao hummed at that question before she replied. “We don’t need to eat and sleep. But yes, we can get hurt, say in a fight. You also can’t walk very far from us—the more distance between us, the more it will hurt both of us. If one of us dies, the other does. And...people touching another’s daemon. Daemons can touch each, but if the person that touches your daemon is a stranger, it feels...like a violation. But it’s the opposite if it’s someone you trust or family...or even a lover.”

Wuxian blinked a few times before nodding slowly. Well, now he had to worry about others accidentally touching him in a fight. “Well, that’s good to know.” But at the mention of a lover though...he wonders how that would feel.

As they set about their normal chores, just another day with their souls present, Wangji listened in on the questions Wuxian proposed his animated friend. He too, wished to know if there certain rules and needs they needed to be aware of when taking care of their latest guests. Of course he committed everything to memory immediately, though he had almost dropped the basket of laundry he had been carrying at his side at the mention of a lover. Wangji threw a cursory glance at Yun who looked him dead in the eye, the man feeling oddly exposed in that moment before he silently headed off to go and wash the clothing by the stream.

He had many things to think about as he got on with the monotonous job. No doubt Qiren would have told him he should clear his head, especially of the kinds of thoughts he was having, but, well, he wasn't here and Wangji was a full on adult in his thirties. He wasn't even in the same world as his uncle anymore, he could be a little more free, even in his thoughts - couldn't he? Such thoughts were revolving around Wuxian, what it would be like to feel him touching Yun, if it would bring him a warm glowing feeling, or, and he dreaded, it feeling awful. It wouldn't, would it?

For he loved no one more than he loved Wei Ying.

Caught up in his own thoughts, the man hadn't noticed Yun coming over to his side and keeping him blissfully quiet company as he washed the clothes. His hands never turned even the slightest shade of pink as he used the streams cold water, for he was used to cold things back in the Cloud Recesses, and his body was insensitive to a lot of things people would consider painful. More importantly, Wangji had not noticed Xiao coming over as well, the animal rather close and brushing up against the man's robes, seemingly enjoying his scent that lingered to them, as well as the general calm being in his presence brought.

It was a brief touch, nothing more to it and Wangji still unaware as he finished up and walked back to the main building of their home.
"Wei Ying?" He called to the man who seemed to be in a trance, sat on the steps with his flute in hand. He didn't look pained or particularly worried, just... odd, like he was dreaming in the daylight. Not particularly concerned, Wangji waited and listened as he wrung out the clothing once more, forearms tensing in an attractive manner before he flicked out the clothes, hanging them up piece by piece until there was a full line of crisp clothing, drying in the warmth of the sun.

Wuxian didn’t notice Wangji’s reaction when Xiao mentioned about lovers, but his daemon had. There was a look in her eye as she briefly turned to Yun before focusing on Wuxian again. While Xiao would more than love for them to...well, not be idiots, she couldn’t really push without alarming Wuxian.

Yun made her way to Wuxian while Xiao considered going to Wuxian, as he was gathering vegetables before she made her way to Wangji as well. It was time to take some initiative since Wuxian was an idiot.

She met Yun’s eyes and made her way to Wangji, and brushed up against his fingers. Wuxian felt a slight jolt at that sensation as if someone was brushing the nape of his neck, but he knew nobody was behind him as Wangji finished the laundry.

He was pondering on the lotus roots, as well as the lingering sensation on his neck when Wangji called out to him. “Yes, Lan Zhan?” He asked, turning his head to his friend as he saw him put the clothes on the clothesline. Wuxian saw as Wangji’s forearms tensed and the muscles flexed as he continued with the chore. The members of the Lan sect were quite impressive with their strength and nobody was as strong as Hanguang Jun.

It made him wonder how he would be with a lover—

Wuxian swallowed, his throat boding as the mental image came to mind before he cleared his throat and jumped up from his seat. “What do you want to eat? Later?”

He could swear he heard Xiao groaning of annoyance in the background.

Surprise briefly flashed over Wangji's handsome features when his partner jumped up from his seat and suddenly asked him what he would like for dinner. Was he planning on cooking again? If he was, the elder was left wondering how spicy it would be this time.
"Hmm." Wangji hummed for now, looking back to his task at hand as he finished, patting down over the linen that lightly swayed in the morning breeze.
"Perhaps some congee?" He suggested, thinking it was a mild dish... if anyone but Wei Ying was cooking it. Despite the man's love for spice and overdoing it, Wangji liked the fact his partner took it upon himself to try and cook at all, and he had been getting much better at it.

Yun hopped over to Wuxian while her counterpart had been speaking, the bunny sniffing about with her little nose twitching, easily missed as her presence was so quiet, calming. Tucking herself up beside Wei Ying's side, the bunny looked up at the man past his robes and to his face, before her gaze darted around for Xiao. While it was normally Xiao to do this more actively, it didn't mean Yun couldn't help too. Nuzzling up against Wuxian's side, she wondered if perhaps Wangji would feel an an ache so strong, he wouldn't be able to stave off of acting on it.

"I'm going to bathe in the waterfall." Wangji announced suddenly, wondering if perhaps Wuxian would like some time to himself, or maybe he needed the time alone. As he turned to leave, Wangji was hit with that familiar knotting inside of his gut, one that made him clench his hand over his stomach as a sudden urge, a need to be closer to Wuxian almost overwhelmed him. Almost. Thank god he had several years of repressing emotions under his belt.
"I won't be long." He forced out, keeping his face hidden as he disappeared inside of their home to fetch what he needed for the bathe.

Congee was simple; he was wondering if Wangji had choosen something so simple just so that he wouldn’t add too much spice. He could add lotus root, and they had some pork cooked from yesterday.

Xiao smirked as she saw Yun’s ministrations. Ah, their souls thought alike: which was why they were so good together. They really just needed to get Wuxian to realize how he felt, to realize how Wangji felt for him.

However, Wangji then immediately said he’d wash at the waterfall before going into their home and taking what he needed to bathe. Wuxian frowned curiously, not noticing how Yun followed when he looked over for Xiao. “I wonder what got into him. Was it something I said?”

Xiao groaned before she fell onto Wuxian’s legs. Wuxian finished the last of his chore before he said, “Alright, I can start making breakfast to lunch…I think they call it brunch.” He began as he walked to the kitchen before he froze, stopping right at the path of the waterfall.

“Or maybe...” He began, hand moving to his chin as he thought. Wangji was at the waterfall, which mean...he wouldn’t have many clothes. Which meant, he could go and clearly see what those scars on his back were! Wuxian had attempted to ask some time ago, but something always interrupted them.

But not this time. He looked over at Xiao as she asked, “Oh, no. What are you thinking, Wei Ying?”

Wuxian waved dismissively, as he replied. “Come on.” Xiao sighed but followed as he made his way towards the waterfall. When he got close enough, but still had cover, he ducked beneath the foliage—he wanted to wait for a few moments, just in case Wangji would panic and think it was someone wanting to attack him.

In his haste to get to the waterfall, Wangji had left behind more than half the things he would usually bring with him when he bathed. Luckily he'd managed to at least snatch up a single bar of soap and his towel, but there was no comb, no oils, not even the single scented candle he liked to bring with him for meditation sometimes. He would simply have to make do for he couldn't just return, Wei Ying would know for sure then that something was eating up his friend, for Lan Wangji didn't just... forget things. He was orderly, precise, a real stick in the mud at times, and he hardly ever made mistakes.

With the sound of the thrashing water toppling down over the smoothed rocks, spilling into the large body of water it made below, Wangji slid off the layers of his clothing with a kind of ease and grace that came so unfairly but naturally to him. Look closer though, and one might find little cracks in his facade, shining from within were his nerves caused shakes in his fingers, or tugging a little too hard at his own clothing until he was freed of it.

But he still didn't feel like he could breathe, not yet.

With his belongings on the water's edge, within reach, Wangji was quick in slipping into the cool water, wading his way over to the rocks where the waterfall pummeled the ground below. With his black hair cascading down the length of his scarred back, Wangji inched ever closer until he was taking the force of the water onto his own shoulders, his head bowed as he stayed like that for several minutes. It must have looked strange to most, definitely uncomfortable for someone else, but the relentless force of nature on Wangji's skin was a soothing kind of deafening, as it drowned out the rest of the world for a while.

Not forever though.

A sudden crack in one of the large boulders beneath the water appeared, so harsh was the crack that it could be heard, echoing around the basin they were in. Wangji's hands moved away and where his palms had been, were now indents left from the force he had accidentally pressed into the rock. Whatever was working Wangji up was taking a toll on the man, enough that he who was so often in control, lost it for a mere second, and that second had been enough to cause such damage.

Following the jagged lines in the rock he had made with his gaze and fingers, Wangji pressed his chest up against the cool, smooth stone, mostly concealing him if not for a few patches of his scarred skin here and there. Several more moments passed like that, and if not for the harsh fall of the water, one could have even assumed he'd merely fallen asleep. But it became all too clear that Lan Wangji was far from asleep when he pushed himself away from the rock and waterfall, whirling around so his face could now be seen.

A rosy trail of pink and red hues danced their way up the man's flawless neck and cheeks, the colour have even dripped down to the top of his chest where strands of his ebony hair did a poor job of hiding the brand mark he had near his heart. But that wasn't what was most surprising, it was the fact so much colour had flooded into Wangji's features at all, considering he hardly ever blushed and when he did, it only kissed his ears.

To put it simply, he looked like a stunning mess. The tremors in his hands earlier had grown throughout his body while his hands were under the water - though it didn't take a genius to figure out what he was doing. The evening light reflected in his half hooded golden eyes, swimming like pools of liquid gold while his muscles twitched and flexed with each twist of his wrist, with each timed stroke of his fingers.
"W-Wei Ying-" Came his lyrical voice, choked with hunger and dying out on his tongue before he could hopefully say anything more.

Stumbling his way closer to where he had left his belongings, Wangji curled his free hand into his folded robes, hunching over the water's edge while his hair fell like a curtain over his side, concealing at least some of the dignity he had left. Hips rocked forward on their own accord, his aching length greeting his clenched fist while he imagined it was so much more than just himself. In his mind, Wei Ying was bent over, bare and holding onto him, crying for more as he could only imagine how much better the younger's walls would have felt in comparison to his hand.

It was enough to send him over the edge minutes later, his whole body jerking forward, hips pinned against water's side as if he were holding Wei Ying in place beneath him. Seconds ticked by and as Wangji finally felt like he could breathe, remembering his surroundings, he glanced at his messy palm, seemingly fascinated with the strings of white linking them before he sighed a soft 'Wei Ying' once more. Slinking down into the water, Wangji disappeared beneath the cool surface and stayed down there for a while, only resurfacing when the colour had drained from his skin and he was left looking like cool marble once again.

As if nothing had happened.

While he had followed Wangji, Xiao was adamant that he didn’t go after him. While normally Wuxian wouldn’t do it—unless he really wanted to prank Wangji, the other fact was this could be an opportunity to see those scars on his back. He remembered seeing them at the grove, faintly through Wangji’s wet robes. The man had wanted to hide them but Wuxian wasn’t blind.

It took him some time, and he managed to sneak behind a few rocks but just when he peeked over said rocks, Wuxian’s eyes widened when he saw what was before him.

Wangji was underneath the waterfall and honestly, that should make anyone uncomfortable but his face was flushed. While he wanted to see the man’s back so he could observe those scars, seeing Wangji’s face like this was mesmerizing. It felt like he was seeing something intimate, vulnerable...something Wangji didn’t want to show to most.

He noticed his hair moved, and he could swear he saw a scar on his chest. Wuxian squinted to see more of it because it reminded him of the one he had when that bastard’s wench had branded him with that. But it was then Wangji’s voice and movements that caused him to freeze.

Wait, was he…?

Wuxian flushed when he realized what Wangji was doing. It was honestly a bit of a surprise as well because Wangji definitely didn’t look like the type to do this...sort of thing. He was all prim and proper; Wangji was always praised on how expressionless he was, and yet, seeing him do something like this made him realize that he was...human. Just like him. He probably missed his—

He suddenly heard his name whispered upon those lips. Oh. He quickly ducked behind the boulders again. No, that can’t be right. Wuxian couldn’t have heard that; he was either imagining things or very hungry. Yes, that must be it. Maybe Wangji was doing some weird exercise that the Lan Clan had been doing. Of course, that must be it, he was thinking to himself just when he raised his head to confirm his theory.

And what he saw...just debunked it. Because he knew as well as any man what was on Wangji’s palm and he couldn’t help but flush so red that he ducked back against the boulders. Did...Wangji...did he just pleasure himself, thinking about him?

He...he wasn’t feeling...oh shit.

Needless to say, Wuxian scurried off as quietly as he could, making sure that Wangji wasn’t looking in his direction or anything like that. He made his way back home and all the thoughts that were rushing through him and more...left him...well…

Flustered would be an adequate word. There was an ache in his skin and while he was still confused, he had to admit...seeing Wangji like that...sparked something in him—but he couldn’t do anything if Wangji was going to come back.

It was almost noon of sorts. He needed to start lunch. So he thought of the worst thing he could think of to help shrink the ache he was feeling. Imagining Jiang Cheng nagging at him definitely helped though hearing Xiao’s chuckle definitely put a damper to his thoughts since he didn’t want an audience, even if it was his soul.

“Shut up, Xiao! And don’t tell him anything—or Yun. Swear it.” The ferret rolled her eyes but agreed just as she walked out. Thankfully, food was ready in a timely manner and his flustered appearance had vanished so when Wangji appeared...he hopefully wouldn’t suspect anything…hopefully.

Justin McCay VERSUS Luke Skywalker:
Pinder, schminder. People should just stick with archery contests, and base all future dates on the results.
All of ya deserve love. Don't forget that. Even the skeleton fella who yells at cats and then laughs to himself
WHAT!? YOU NAMED THE AMPHITHEATER AFTER ATHENA!? But she's not even an artist! She's a boring stick in the mud! What do you do there? Watch old women weave all day? This is egregious! Egregious I tell you!
Hello mortals! It was a beautiful day today wasn't it? I know. I know. No need to thank me. But you're welcome anyways. ;)
