@Pannacotta Fugo & @Akira Howard

You and your partner have woken up handcuffed together in a dimly lit space vaguely resembling a hotel room, with a bed and basic furnishings present, yet the door is shut and the only light seems a flickering lamp, and you are stuck on the floor. Neither one of you remembers what exactly happened the day/night before, or how you got where you are now. Do you know each other? Maybe, maybe not. But it doesn't matter now. All that matters is figuring out how to work together to get free of this situation, and continuing on with your lives.

Akira's eyes fluttered open with a groan, her head feeling very tender, as though she had some kind of hangover. Not that she was a big drinker, but the fact that she suddenly realised that she had no idea where she was and how she got there was rather concerning, to say the least.

The day had started like any other here in Pandora, waking up in her apartment and heading to the station, before her usual patrols. That was the last thing she could remember though, before waking up on rough, overly warn carpet and staring at a dingy ceiling in what looked like a small hotel room of sorts. Hardly a five star joint either, she gathered from the musty smell and the cobwebs that clung to the corners where peeling painted walls became ceiling. Eyes widening as she was suddenly very much wide awake, she shot bolt upright, hearing the sound of chain as she did so. Not only that, but she realised that her left arm wasn't moving as freely as it should, held down as though she was attached to something.

Looking down, she let out a small gasp as she realised that the something was a pair of handcuffs, and that they were quite firmly attached to someone.

"WHAT THE HELL?", she cried out, noticing that the other was likely a younger teen. What the hell, as in what the hell was going on and who the hell was this person? Just what kind of bender had she been on, and how had she been talked into it? It was a good thing her brother and the others weren't here, or she would never hear the end of it. That is, assuming she would anyway.

Fugo had been sleeping soundly, despite the circumstances, up until a woman practically shouted right next to him. Unfortunately for the young gangster, life in Pandora had thrown him many strange scenarios to wake up to already, so he was quick to respond. His head jerked upwards and his eyes darted around the room, quickly trying to get a grasp of the situation.

Looked like a crappy motel room... honestly it reminded him of the place he had lived before being taken to this world. Bad memories. The flickering lamp, eerie though it was, provided enough light that the whole room was visible. Basic furniture, peeling paint, and, most important to the teen, a door.

Oh, and also he was handcuffed to a complete stranger. Yeah, that was important.

Before even considering to acknowledge the woman, Fugo took a moment to try collecting his thoughts. He couldn't remember going to bed, or even coming home. That, combined with the fact that anyone trying to break into his house would have to deal with multiple superpowered gangsters, made it seem likely that he was abducted outside. Unfortunately, that was all the relevant information he could glean. Any recollection of how he got here was gone.

Which left him with only one thing to do: Engage in conversation. "I'm going to do you a favor here and assume that you're just as confused as I am," the blonde man stated calmly, positioning his body so as to give the chain binding them together a bit of slack. "If you do know why we're here, though, you'd better damn well speak up. If, against all odds, you're responsible for this... you'll be better off saying nothing." This was an annoying situation. He could probably use his stand to break the cuffs, but that would almost certainly lead to him having to explain how he did it. And keeping the fact that he was a walking pandemic secret was important to Fugo. Even if he could trust this complete stranger, which he couldn't, there was no guarantee that they weren't under surveillance right now.

"Waiting for someone to stumble across us probably isn't an option here," he continued, sounding quite confident about his assertion. "The cobwebs and that musty smell in the air make it seem like no one has been here for a while. Possibly an abandoned motel, not the sort of place people wander around. We either get out of here ourselves, wait for whoever put us here to come around and do something, or die of starvation. Personally, I like the first option." Hopefully this person had enough sense to agree.

Rather than answering her, the other seemed to take a moment to collect his thoughts. Understandable, given the situation, as she didn't have any clue as to how she could have gotten there either. What she needed to do was get to her feet, take a look around and see if there was anything that would help them to escape. Oh, and to get these damn handcuffs off, as the idea of being cuffed to a stranger whom she had no idea if she could trust was unsettling, to say the least!

At least the male remained calm, stating that he was going to assume that she was just as confused as she was. He considered it a favour, but it sounded like a thinly veiled threat. Which was pointless really, as he went on to make it clear, under no uncertain terms, that she would be sorry if she was somehow responsible. Sure, like she had nothing better to do than handcuff herself to a stranger and lie down in a dingy room!

"First off, I have no idea what's going on here, but I intend to find out!"
, she spoke, determined to do just that. Oh, and get out of here. "You want to blame me for this, fine, but threatening me isn't going to help", she added, as if daring him to try something. She was a cop, not a damsel in distress, after all, and could look after herself!

Thankfully, the male then chose to focus on the situation at hand, to which Akira glancing around the room once more as she though along the same lines. Definitely not somewhere that had been used in a while, in fact it seemed that the single, small window was barred up. A makeshift cell? If she had gotten to someone enough for them to want her out of the way, then she'd worked pretty damn fast!

"You're right, not much chance of anyone just stumbling across us", she agreed, pulling herself into a crouched position while being careful not to yank the chain too much. "We're not gonna figure this out from down here", she added, imploring the other to join her in getting to their feet. With no IRIS, she would have to do this the old fashioned way, just treat it like any other case. The obvious thing would be to try the door first, rather than just assume it was locked, after which they could take a look around the rest of the room and weigh up their options. She reached down to see if she at least had her X-Baton. Good, still there. Whoever did this must have just assumed it was an ordinary baton, rather than capable of transforming into a blaster. Not that firing a gun in a small room like this would be a good idea.

"Did it sound like I was blaming you? I said it would be against all odds if you were behind this, which is far from a damning condemnation in my opinion," Fugo retorted, a slight edge to his voice as if he was beginning to get frustrated. "Of course, the threat is still real. But if you're innocent then you have nothing to fear." He gave a wry smile, as if he was mocking that assertion. Not that he was being insincere, but rather it was like he had heard a similar thing told to him before.

As it was, though, he knew nothing. So, with no reason to object, the young gangster followed her lead and stood up. Noticing that his partner of circumstance had a baton that she seemed to be familiar with, it occurred to him that he should check for his own possessions. A quick search through his pockets resulted in disappointment. "Crap, of course they took my phone! That'd be too easy." he muttered to himself irritably. It was just a burner phone, but it was a new burner phone.

Still, he did find one useful item. His switchblade was right where it was supposed to be. Not that he particularly needed a weapon, but it was a gift. If it had been taken, Fugo would have been pissed. "I imagine the door will be locked, but who knows? Let's just try it out."

He walked over to the obvious exit, with the woman following of course, and tried to open it, only to be met with the expected failure. "OK, now that that's out of the way... We should come to a decision on how to proceed." Fugo proposed, even though he would much rather just being able to do his own thing. The fact of the matter was that their handcuffing forced them to cooperate. "We need to be on the same page or else we'll just end up dragging each other around." Of course, he fully intended to take control here... he just would rather do it through words and logic rather than force.

"So, to start with, my name is Fugo. I live in Pandopolis City and make a living doing odd jobs," the teen introduced himself, lying about his profession to cover up the fact that his occupation was crime. Offering up personal information, even if some of it was false, was a good way to build trust. Which was what was needed for cooperation. "And I think we should try ramming down the door as our first plan."

Uh, he had a point, she realised with gritted teeth. He hadn't actually outright said he had blamed her, only that he hoped that she wasn't somehow involved. Okay, so she'd let the situation get to her, but she'd had chance to catch her breath since then.

"Alright, nothing to fear, got it", she spoke more calmly, although she could defend herself if this male really did decide to try and do her harm. This guy appeared human, not a monster or chimera of any kind, so that shouldn't be a problem, at least. Now it was time to stop being jumpy and start acting.

So whoever was behind this had taken this guys phone, and there was no sign of hers either. Or her police communicator, but why take those and leave their weapons? Assuming of course, this guy was armed at all. She had noticed him checking his pockets, but had no way of knowing what he had found that caused him to seem relived. Best keep her guard up.

At least, they were thinking along the same lines about trying the door, but it was of course locked, just as she'd figured. She could try and kick it down, but even with her training, she was only human, after all. Trying would be better than staying here, cuffed to this guy though. Speaking of which, she knew that she couldn't try anything too drastic with him attached to her by the wrist. He wasn't a Legion, after all, and had a mind of his own!

Akira nodded her understanding of the male's next statement, glad that at least they could agree that they would need to work together to get out of this without dragging each other around (and/or getting in each others way.

"Agreed. I still have my weapon, so maybe we can use that somehow", she suggested, although she did not yet know how. She had already decided that maybe firing a blaster in a small room like this open was a bad idea, but maybe they could at least try and break the lock?

The other then introduced himself as Fugo, which she had no idea was a first or last name. Whatever the case, at least he had been willing to do so, claiming to live in Pandopolis City and getting by doing 'odd jobs'. Sounded rather suspicious, but it wasn't her concern right now. In fact, if he lived in Pandopolis, it was out of her juristiction too.

"Akira Howard, Ark City Police", she introduced herself, adding her occupation, seeing as he had sort of done so himself. Perhaps to build up some kind of rapport, which was fine by her. They needed to be on the same page.

"Ramming down the door? Looks pretty solid, but we can try", she agreed. "This whole room is pretty worn out, so maybe looks can be deceiving?", she then added, wondering if the door was actually as worn down as the rest of the place. It looked cleaner somehow though, so it could have been a new addition. She wouldn't mind looking for a camera too, see if they were being watched, but the higher priority was getting out of there.

"Right, on three?", she suggested, poising herself ready to give it a go. They would have to be in sync with one another if this was to work, seeing as it would require more than one persons weight to ram into it at once.

Alright, things were starting to get sorted out. The woman wasn't an uncooperative person, nor had she been an actual burden yet, so there was no reason to harm her. Of course, that also made things more difficult, in a way. If he was chained to a real piece of shit, he'd be able to just kill them and cut off their hand so he could move freely.

Not that he enjoyed jumping to violence, of course. Fugo just had no issue with resorting to force when needed.

The woman's baton didn't look too impressive, since he was unaware that it also doubled as a blaster. Not much uses he could think of, when only viewing it as a melee weapon. "At the very least, we could use it as a last resort to separate us. Break enough of the bones in my hand and I could force it out of the cuff," he suggested, though he didn't exactly seem thrilled about it. Risking life and limb to accomplish a goal was a part of gangster life, but that didn't mean such risks needed to be used as the first plan. "There's good doctors in Pandora, so it probably wouldn't cause any permanent damage."

Of course, since he now was sure he was dealing with a cop, Fugo now needed to be careful. Letting his abilities become known to a civilian was one thing, but law enforcement was completely different! Utilizing Purple Haze to escape was now only a last resort. But he didn't let any of his discomfort show. "Oh, thank god!" he exclaimed, feigning relief. "I was worried that you might have been somebody shady. Having a cop here is reassuring." That would be the normal reaction, right? At least, for somebody who didn't grow up in a country where the police were completely corrupt.

"Alright officer, let's get that door down," the young criminal said. He had planned originally to have his stand push down the door while they rammed it, so as to hide its presence, but now that he had decided not to use his stand unless absolutely necessary that wasn't going to happen. Still, Fugo would give this attempt his all. He wasn't weak, even if he left most of the heavy lifting in his life to his stand, so this could still work! "One... Two... Three!" he counted down, slamming his full weight into the door at three.

At least it seemed that they could co operate, but for how long was anyones guess. It was clear that this Fugo guy was wanting to take charge, but Akira wasn't really a follower. She noticed him eying up her baton, looking particularly unimpressed, and she thought of mentioning the blaster. X-Batons weren't exactly standard issue around here, though the force had allowed her to keep hers. In fact, they seemed interested in trying to replicate the technology, which she couldn't help but wonder was really a good idea. Not that they were difficult to use, but she personally wasn't familiar with how exactly they worked. They'd have to figure it out on their own.

It was then that he suggested that as a last resort, they could use the baton to start breaking bones in his hand and fingers, with the idea that he could force the cuffs off that way.

"You have got to be kidding me!", she cried out incredulously, but thankfully he didn't seem keen on the thought either. "Let's just hope it doesn't come to that. Don't know about you, but I'd like to get out of this in one piece", she added, before returning her attention to the door. The near sarcasm when she had mentioned being a police officer hadn't escaped her, but she had bigger problems right now than worrying about him being 'someone shady'. Right now, they had a common goal, at least.

Poising herself once again, she steeled herself for the task ahead. She could do this, she was Max Howard's kid, she was tough! Akira fully intended to give this her best shot. Especially with someone else to back her up.

"Okay, I got this. We got this", she muttered to herself, adding the correction for no ones benefit unless this guy had good hearing. "On three", she repeated as Fugo started the countdown. Managing to work almost in sync with her partner of circumstance, Akira threw her entire weight against the door, grunting loudly as she collided. The lock rattled upon impact, but the door stood firm.

"Dammit"
, she hissed, pain shooting down the side that had taken the brunt of the collision. The door was just wood though, right? With an old fashioned key lock, as far as she could see. It shouldn't be that hard, right?

"We need something heavier to ram this thing down", she conceded, but what? Time to look around, but with such a small room, that shouldn't take long.

Unfortunately, ramming down the door with their strength alone wasn't cutting it. Maybe he should have just forgot about being cautious and just used his stand to get this over with, but now Fugo had lost his chance to event try being subtle about that. And, now that he thought about it, this door was far more durable than he had expected. It was just a simple wooden door, and a cheap looking place like this had no business having good doors.

"Well isn't that goddamn fantastic? Going to make this difficult, aren't they?" he muttered, already moving on to other ideas. "Trying to break it down with something else would be a better idea if we weren't bound together. It isn't easy to put our combined force behind an object when we can't freely maneuver ourselves." Not that it wasn't worth a shot, but the young gangster felt like they had better odds with their initial attempt of just ramming their own bodies into it.

There were other options to explore first, at the very least. "Another possibility exists. If we could find bobby pins or paper clips... well, I might be able to pick the lock," Fugo suggested. "I'm not that good at it, but I think I can manage in this case." It was only half true. While he did know in theory what to do to pick a lock, the gangster had seldom actually put it into practice. However, once he looked while he was picking it normally, he could take advantage of his stand's ability to selectively phase through solid objects to directly manipulate the locking mechanism in order to unlock it while playing it off as if he did it the normal way.

He just needed correct tools that he could pretend to use while cheating with Purple Haze. "So let's keep an eye out for anything like that," Fugo concluded. "Let's start by the bed. I want to see if anything's hidden beneath it."

Though they had only been together for a short time, Akira was really beginning to miss her Legion. Knowing what her brother could do with his (and the one that had once been her own, that would have been really handy right about now! As it was, she only had herself to rely on, and maybe that wasn't a bad thing. Though she shouldn't have snapped, told him that unlike him she didn't need to hide behind Legion's, in a way, she was right. Up until the Chimera attack, she had managed pretty well without, and so she could do so now! Even if she did have to figure her way out of this situation while handcuffed to a complete stranger.

As said stranger muttered to himself, Akira glanced around the room to see if she could see anything obvious that she could use to try and get through the lock. if it came to it, she could try blasting it, but per her earlier thoughts, it probably wasn't too good an idea in a small room like this one. A last resort then, but it was starting to appear like a more likely option now, after her companion pointed out that using something to ram the door down would be difficult while they were bound together. He had a point, seeing as even if there was something here that would be large enough to use, they would need to be at opposite ends to carry it. Or, he could pick the lock.

"Fine, might be worth a try", she shrugged, although it would be a little worrying if he actually managed to pull it off. In this situation though, she would let it slide, as she was much more concerned with dealing with the people who had locked them in here in the first place!

Of course, for that to work, he would need tools, and the bedside cabinet seemed as good a start as any. Even though he seemed to think that looking under the bed would be more beneficial.

"Sounds like a plan. Might be worth checking the drawers too, even though that might be a little obvious", she added. Saying that, anything that could be used to pick locks could be easily overlooked. Provided this guy was good enough. The trick now would be to maneuver themselves so that they didn't hurt each other or get in each others way, seeing as they were still attached by the wrists and all.

He was at least glad to hear that his claim to be able to pick locks didn't get a bad reaction. Of course, if he was called out for having a skill like that, he could always just claim that his odd jobs included locksmithing. But this cop wasn't so zealous as to question him for having a criminally associated talent when it was beneficial to her, so there was no issue.

"Glad you see things my way," Fugo said back to Akira calmly. "I'll need two pieces of metal, one that I can use as a tension wrench and one that I can use to manipulate the pins. Bobby pins and paperclips can act as both, but there are plenty of less obvious items that could substitute for those." It was all a farce, of course, as he would simply use his supernatural abilities to cheat the lock, but he needed to make this look real. It was a shame he couldn't do the same to remove the cuffs, since there was no way he'd be able to make picking a lock with one hand look realistic.

There was no way he was going to admit that the drawers had escaped his notice, as that would reflect too poorly for him. "Right, obviously," Fugo remarked dismissively. "It looks like the bed uses a box spring, so I was thinking I could maybe get a usable strip of metal from in there." After saying that, he'd begin to walk over towards the bedside cabinet slowly, careful not to go too fast and end up tripping each other up.

"Well, let's go take a look inside before we resort to breaking the furniture," the young criminal said wryly. He tried to pull it open.

Akira nodded, though suspicious as to why he would have any skill in picking locks with bits of metal. it could be something as innocent as a talent acquired for these 'odd jobs', but the way he said it made it sound dubious at best, from a legal perspective. Again though, it wasn't her biggest problem, with the two being cuffed together and locked in a room like this. If she were to question him further, it would likely lead to him becoming agitated and putting both of them in further danger. So for now, she would go along with it and see how it all played out.

While she doubted there would be anything too obviously useful just lying around, it was definitely worth a look. If she was wrong, great, otherwise they would need to think outside of the box and use their imaginations a little.

"So anything like a bobby pin or paperclip", she repeated, not too keen on tearing up the furniture. She would not want to be responsible for causing criminal damage, although she would rather do so than rot in this room while cuffed to a complete stranger. Still, there were times when a certain amount of force was required, but just how they could pull the springs from the bed without hurting themselves. Or each other.

"Good call, though in the mean time we might want to think about just how we're going to do that"
, she responded as he made his way over to the drawers. Carefully, she noticed and was grateful for, although she did have to make sure to keep pace. The drawers were stiff, as if not used in some time (like the rest of the room then) but with a little force they would slowly pull open. It was strange how everything in this room seemed old and unused, and yet the door and it's lock seemed to be new. It strengthened her belief that someone had planned this.

Though the top drawer appeared to be empty, there were another two left to search. Failing that, they could always move the cabinet and see if anything potentially useful had gotten lost underneath.

It was important for Fugo to remember that he could cheat a bit. Hiding the fact that he was a pandemic waiting to happen from a cop was important, but he still had a few subtle tricks he could pull off with his stand to make this go more smoothly. Tricks that he could keep secret. As long as he got to any more sturdy pieces of metal before Akira saw them, Purple Haze would be able to just contort them a bit into the right shape.

"Well, everything in this room sans the door just reeks of cut corners," the young gangster explained his thought process for dealing with the box spring if necessary. "Cheap motel like this probably doesn't have the sturdiest furniture. I've got a small knife to cut with, and you have that baton. Applied force might not be very elegant, but it can work wonders."

It was annoying that the first drawer yielded no rewards, but that wasn't unexpected. Still, it would have been great if they lucked out right away. Slamming the top one shut to access the next, Fugo went for the second one to the ground. A sharp yank sent it flying open, revealing a bible and nothing else. "Huh, weird to see something so normal for a hotel room here," he remarked, idly flipping through the pages just in case anything was tucked inside. "Nothing useful, unfortunately. On to the next, I guess."

He crouched down slightly before sliding in the open drawer and opening the final one. There was actually something inside, but it wasn't immediately useful for getting out of this room. "Looks like a flashlight," Fugo told Akira. He picked it up and searched for the button to turn it on. A few seconds later, a decently bright beam of light began to better illuminate the dimly lit room. "It will at least be useful for some of the darker spots."

"Still, we really need something to pick the lock with... Wait... Oh, I am such a fucking moron!" he suddenly exclaimed, before pulling his switchblade out from his pocket. It had a pretty thin blade, easily enough that it could fit inside the lock. "Well, there's our tension wrench! We still need one more thing to use, though."

A knife, she acknowledged his words with a nod. Well that changed things, as at least they would be able to cut through the furniture if need be. Just why he had one on him would be a question for another time, although it wasn't that unusual for people in this world to carry weapons. If anyone asked her, she would have them banned, at least in the more populated areas, but no one would or had, so...

The drawers themselves yielded nothing but an old, dusty bible, the book containing nothing of use. Oh, and a flashlight. That could be useful later on, especially seeing as there was some battery power left.

"Good find, we can use that to look under the drawers and maybe even another look under the bed"
, she suggested. After all, it had been dark down there, so it made sense to have another look with a flashlight. Something as small as a safety pin or a hair pin could be easily missed, after all. There didn't seem to be much else in the room, although they had yet to check under the carpets. Of course...

"Hey, you think these carpets have been stapled down? Might be a little thicker than what you're looking for, but I think it's worth a look at least.", she suggested, halfway down to the floor when she suddenly remembered that she was cuffed to the other occupant and probably shouldn't pull them down with her. "Right, sorry. So, should we take a look?" After all, staples the size they would need to pin down a carpet should be big enough, although not as easy to manipulate as pins.

He had perhaps been a bit too quick in revealing his knife, but thankfully it wasn't met with any real suspicion. At this point, any tension to their cooperation would be very bad. "Just what I was thinking," Fugo agreed simply. What else was there to do with a flashlight other then illuminating the darkness, after all?

It would be very lucky for them to actually find something else that would make a convincing pick, but that meant it was unlikely. However, Akira proceeded to say something that would potentially make this a lot easier. "Carpet staples? I can't say I know how well they'd work, but there's no way a place like this wouldn't have them," he began to reply, before stumbling onto his knees when his ally of circumstance began to get down without warning. "Ugh, I can't wait to get rid of these stupid cuffs," Fugo groaned.

"Anyways, sure. Sooner we find something, the sooner we can leave this dump," he concurred. "You take the flashlight, I'll need my hand free if there's something that needs to be cut." The illuminating tool was offered to Akira. If these staples actually looked like they could be used for lock picking, it didn't matter if they were actually useful. He only needed to present the illusion of normally picking a lock.

Even after she had voiced her thought, Akira had doubts about staples actually working. They would maybe be too thick and difficult to maneuver into the desired shape. Still, anything was worth a try, and it seemed as though he agreed. At least it seemed they could work together, despite her attempt at pulling him to the floor. She couldn't agree with his sentiment more.

"Me either, and when I catch whoever did this...", she began, but thought better of continuing. Now wasn't the time to lose her cool. She needed to keep a clear head and think her way out of this. That didn't mean she couldn't be angry though!

Taking the flashlight from her ally, Akira remained crouched as he took a look at what was on offer. They would need to pull the carpet back just enough to expose said staples, and maybe then they could figure out if they would be of any use. If not, then they were back to square one, but with a flashlight. That had to count for something!

Fugo would have been fine with letting the bastard or bastards behind this literally melt into a biological sludge, but since a cop was involved he'd just leave the follow up to the police. A criminally inclined teen like himself was best staying away from anything the authorities might investigate, especially in Pandora where he didn't work for an organization that had the whole country in its pocket.

All his musings about what the responsible party deserved, though, had to wait until they got out. The staple plan was absolutely terrible, but if he could pass it off as realistic then he wouldn't hesitate to fake it. "Ugh, looking closer... This carpet is disgusting," the blonde gangster remarked, referring to the multitude of stains with dubious origins. He reluctantly reached his hand towards the wall and dug it in the gap between carpet and floor.

Pulling with as much strength as he could muster with the one hand available to him, and a little bit of extra help from his stand, Fugo exposed some of the staples. "Hrrm... Shine the light over there," he directed Akira, pointing towards one of the stapled spots. "I think it might work," he lied through his teeth, "But I need to see it more clearly to be sure. Also, I'd prefer to see clearly if I'm going to remove it."

Hopefully it wouldn't look completely unusable.

The more she thought about it, the more she realised that the staples had been a pretty stupid idea, but she had been desperate. Still, it wasn't as if she had been called out on it, so maybe it could be just say workable. Still, looking out for a better idea couldn't hurt, so while Fugo took a closer look (while complaining about how disgusting the carpet was), Akira watched as he got to work, somehow managing to pull the carpet up with one hand before she could offer to give him a hand! Then again, it was probably more helpful to be able to see what he was doing. That, and she wasn't exactly keen on touching that carpet either. Yuk!

When asked to shine the light onto a certain spot, she did so, allowing him to see one of the stapled spots. Something told her that he wasn't being entirely truthful when he seemed confident it could work, a kind of sixth sense that developed though being in the police force, but for now she wouldn't call him out on it. Chances are, he just wasn't as confident in the idea as he made out.

"You sure?", she asked, noting the rust encasing said staples and suddenly feeling rather skeptical. Still, a plan was a plan, and it wasn't as if they had come up with another one just yet. Hopefully, this guy knew what he was doing.

"If I come up with a better plan, I'll let you know", she informed him, making sure that he had the light he needed to work with. "Anything's probably better than this idea", she added with a sigh. Not meaning maiming themselves by breaking their wrists and wriggling out of the cuffs. If only they didn't have that to worry about. In fact, there was a point, were they key holes...

"Actually, you think you can pick these?", she suggested, giving her cuffed wrist a soft jiggle, just enough to rattle the chain. "If we can get free, maybe we'd have a few more options."
She couldn't believe that hadn't occurred to them sooner, but it seemed they had both become transfixed about opening the door. Still, if he thought that was easier than the cuffs, then that was on him.
