Questions are being asked tonight after a late night robbery at a Silverport Quick Pick convenience store was thwarted by what could only be described as a group of organized chimps in costumes. Twenty two year old Kyle T. Leightschiff was at the register when forty five year old Richard Leblanc, a former parolee entered the market and drew a gun he'd stolen from a mutual friend. While trying to get through the protective booth around the young clerk, Leblanc was attacked by up to six chimpanzee's described by both Leblanc and Leightschiff as wearing white makeup around their eyes like masks in the shape of bats and wore cobbled together jackets with a similar yellow bat painted on the back. Leblanc even was quoted saying to paramedics. "They even spoke like him! Shoutin' I am the night! I am vengeance!"
Leblanc was badly beaten although will retain no permanent injuries and even had a blunt throwing weapon seemingly made to look like the batarangs of the infamous Vigilante The Batman, thrown at his head. Leightschiff was unharmed and Leblanc's gun was found destroyed on the floor of the shop. Leblanc is being charged with Attempted Robbery and Illegal use of a Firearm. But police are still wondering, do these talking chimps have a direct link to Batman? Or is this some sort of sick joke?
